The Smackdown thread

I'm out of town for the weekend, so I might as well put this up now.

Comments

  1. Just making my initial comment.

  2. I know this has been talked about on the old blog, but with the news of Angle's release, HOPEFULLY this will give him the time the heal up some, and comeback for one final run sometime down the road. I for one think he deserves it, I just hope he takes this to heart and does something about it.

  3. Now threaded comments are integrated. For example by clicking "Reply to this comment" under liermann's post, it will be threaded under us blah blah blah.

And hey, just read the comment, wow didn't even realize Angle had been released. I agree the guy needs to get some perspective, I hope this doesn't lead to a road of depression for him though.

  4. If there is any other features you guys want added, or want anything changed, please just let me know and I'll do what I can.

  5. This is for the best. Sad, but for the best. I just hope he sees it for what it is.

  6. This is off-topic, but so is the Angle stuff, so okay.

Consider this your notice to get ROH's Death Before Dishonor, as in my book, Cage of Death is the second ***** match to hit this year. Un-credible.

  7. Your weekly pre-Smackdown Mid South update:

Paul Orndorff showed up. Challenged DiBiase for the North American title.

    We get that...NEXT WEEK, BABY!

    (I love this shit!)

  8. The WWE really needs to do a "Ultimate Kurt Angle" DVD set now.

  9. So, with Angle out dealing with his pain killers habit, Eddie taken after years struggling with the same problem, Benoit tired of wrestling so he's probably going to retire and Foley out of the picture for awhile...why am I am watching RAW or Smackdown anymore?! Do I really wanna watch the dream team of Batista and Bobby Lashley? No sir.

I want Smackdown to give these tag teams 15 minutes to tell a story every week, and some kind of solid storyline to make Batista and his feud with King Booker more interesting. I love the effort Booker's putting into his character, though.

    Exploiting Eddie though? F them.

  10. God Bless Scotsman...and such.

  11. Benoit's due back by No Mercy.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Why would you have a Cena avatar???

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ok back to Smackdown, I didn't see it I had to work.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I cry river of tear for Angle. Why not you?

    ReplyDelete
  15. They've been exploiting Eddie since the day he died, why should we be surprised? Rey Mysterio used his name to become World Champion, now Chavo is using it to get a heel push. I feel bad for his wife, actually, because I'm sure she'd rather not be involved in any of this, but if Vince is going to support Eddie's family like he promises, I'm sure he wants to get something in return.

  16. Could you install a Brett Leon Burkhalter feature?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I also cry a tear for Angle. Smackdown last night must have seemed irrelavent because of Angle being gone. I also hope he gets his life back in order and returns down the line. Hope he makes a pit stop in ROH to wrestle Joe or Danielson. We all know he'll go back to WWE in six months but I think it would be great to see those dream matches.

  18. This is completely off topic, but how do you access the PW Torrents tracker?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I can't believe it. I mean, he seemed to have troubles lately, but to actually want out... do you think it was him wanting out, or them for his own good?

I'd doubt that Angle would bother making a stop in ROH, but we can dream.

  22. Hmm, this comment system is gonna take awhile to get used to.

Angle just sounds completely burnt out, it's sad. He's easily one of the best things to happen to wrestling in the last 10 years, and the longer he stays away, the worse it is for WWE. Unfortunately, his future with wrestling seems a little doubtful. I'll always appreciate everything he has done. Good luck with life, Kurt.

  23. Kurt Angle needs to take some time off, and I mean a very good time off. He needs to get heal some of his injuries and get his life on order. With Angle, Jericho and Benoit out, the WWE should elevate some of their young talents like Orton, Carlito, Benjamin and others, instead of using them to elevate the young Hulk Hogan. Other things that could be done is move Shawn Michaels to SmackDown because SmackDown is in need of superstar. But since the WWE doesn't care of SmackDown, then they should end the RAW-SmackDown brand extensions and be the WWE for good. Use RAW and SmackDown as TV shows like the good ol' days.

  24. Anything you would like changed in it to make it more easy to use?

  25. Scotts, good job, but my only complaint is that for every comment made you have to re-enter all your info (name, e-mail, URL), even though I'm already logged into the site. One too many steps?

  27. But that Hogan, he's going to be a STAR someday! That kid's got what it takes!

  28. How do you get invited?

    ReplyDelete
  29. The front page is boring and I think needs to look closer to the Live Journal version.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Actually, you DON'T have to enter the info if you're already logged in. Silly that it does that, but tomorrow I will add a notice saying that, or try and fix it so the info doesnt show if you are logged in.

  31. The LJ looked awesome, I'm using the same style for mine right now.

I actually like the design of this website. It's simple, but it looks real nice. I dig that.

  32. I think Angle realizes the only way to get off the drugs is to not be wrestling. Wouldn't be surprised to see this be it, and for Angle to be just as active as Foley (if at all). He also started pro wrestling at an older age (31 when he started, right?) so he's hitting 40 soon.

I like Carlito's chances, though, as far as the young guys who need a push. Maybe he'll beat Orton at Unforgiven?

  34. Comment on the night came from JBL during the ultra-hot Jillian Hall's match: "I didn't fire my image consultant, she got lost in Japan." Had me rolling, JBL is the man.

  35. "Do I really wanna watch the dream team of Batista and Bobby Lashley? No sir."

So you don't want to watch the best worker in North America today either? Samoa Joe who? His name is finley, and he loves to fight... and have kick ass matches.

  36. My account somehow got fucked up on PWT, every time I try to recover my password it gives me some error message. Kind of pissed about that.
