As if we needed more proof Daniel Bryan was awesome

WWE'S DANIEL BRYAN LETS A KID WITH CANCER TAP HIM OUT, BECAUSE SOMETIMES PEOPLE ARE AWESOME

Sorry; I seem to have something in my eye… Just give me a minute… I… I was chopping onions earlier, yeah that's it….

Good thing the kid didn't ask for John Cena.  He probably would have no-sold the submission hold and finished him with the FU.

Comments

  1. YES! YES! YES!
    /obligatory

It got a little dusty (not Dusty) when I saw DBry tweet that last night.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Yeah but only cena can be over as the top guy because of sick kids

    ReplyDelete
  3. What Cena would have given him was a medal and then ignore him as he was getting beaten up by school bullies.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I saw this earlier and my eyes got misty.

    ReplyDelete
  5. so we're hating on Cena appealing to most of their kid audience now? wtf.

    ReplyDelete
  6. They should market a detachable Daniel Bryan goat beard for kids. Bunch of kids with awesome beards instead of Mysterio masks

    ReplyDelete
  7. This is an amazing idea.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I needed a restoration of faith in humanity after the crazy, tragic shit that went down last week. Fucking awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'll mock John Cena for a number of reasons, but the guy meets with terminally ill children on a consistent basis which must not be very easy. If there's a time to lay off the guy, this is it.

    ReplyDelete
  10. PUSH THIS GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. The best part was definitely Kane just randomly hanging out in the back.

    ReplyDelete
  12. If the IWC isn't crying about a product it can't stop watching what other identity does it have?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ha that would be great

    ReplyDelete
  14. Why isn't Bryan at the top of the card again?
    great wrestler:check
    great charisma: check
    great guy:check
    over as fuck: check

    ReplyDelete
  15. This is awesome and I hope WWE shows this on Raw and Smackdown so all fans can see it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Nothing aired in the arena last night during either show, but the story was all over the news.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Because only Cena can be the top guy and anyone who remotely threatens Cena's top spot must be crushed and buried, so that they can continue the lie that since Cena is the only one with top selling merchandise (because everyone else who can potentially outsell Cena is buried to keep them from overtaking his numbers), he must be protected at all costs and people like Bryan buried.to prevent him from ever threatening Cena's spot.

Seriously, whoever said it in another thread a couple of months back was right: Cena basically is the unholy bastard child of 1997 era Shawn Michaels in terms backstage stroke and elimination of any real threats towards him and him alone on the mountaintop.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Why does Bryan always hafta take the loss?!?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I can't stress this enough. I don't have a problem with John Cena OFF TV, it's John Cena ON TV I have a problem with.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I didn't see him tap out!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Are you a gimmick? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Because his arms don't bulge enough when he's carrying his groceries DAMMIT

    ReplyDelete
  23. The kid was AT RAW? They should have had the Shield beat him down = super heat

    ReplyDelete
  24. the kid probably saw how often Bryan loses and figured he had a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wonder if Bryan's gonna get heat for stealing Cena's king of the sick kids gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  26. He should at LEAST be a spokesperson for this:

    http://www.inewidea.com/2010/06/09/31436.html

    ReplyDelete
  27. Or at least have Punk yell at him.

    ReplyDelete
  28. He's too small. Since he doesn't look like Vince McMahon's vision of a wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  29. if thats true it is pretty much proof that they are using it to keep Cena over and cant let someone else infringe on the make a wish stuff

    ReplyDelete
  30. Why don't you steal some more comics you disgusting thief.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Quite the opposite. If anything this blog gives you watered down Jesse. I can't wait to read his nervous breakdown at Amazing Spider-Man 700 next week for instance.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Daniel Bryan seems like a genuinely humble man.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Is there a story you wish to share?

    ReplyDelete
  34. What is great is the kid picks Bryan who not is a heel (sorta) but according to HHH is just some guy some geek behind a keyboard likes.

    ReplyDelete
  35. A few weeks back, he did an amazing interview on WMMR-FM's Preston & Steve. Bryan's all kinds of a friendly personable guy.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Go Stone Crusher! So glad to see this happen. Watched the YouTube video a while ago and kudos to the WWE for making it happen. Can't fault them for this sort of thing.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've already pissed Slott off as far as making the fat fuck angry as fuck, given that I've been at the front of the moment to spoil the issue and have been spreading the leaked scans of #698-#700 all over the internet for people online to read.

    ReplyDelete
  38. He's pissy because I have been spreading the leaked scans of Amazing Spider-Man #698-700 beyond the gated community of 4chan's comic board. And downloading the abortion that is the current Joker storyline so I can mock it and point out how Snyder is a hack that doesn't know the first thing about how to write the Joker......

    ReplyDelete
  39. Have Punk shave his head to mock the kid. That's SURE to get people to hate him!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Check his interview with Rosenberg on YouTube too, great interview

    ReplyDelete
  41. I never could get into comics. Not a big fan of action movies or superhero movies in general either. How is it that I am a wrestling fan?

    ReplyDelete
  42. D-Bry is probably top 5 nicest guys in Wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I've always been curious about the Cena Stroke actually. Is it actually him that pulls the backstage power moves ala Hogan, Michaels, HHH, etc. or is it Vince/the writers/office crew for example John Laurenitis, who keep the guys down? The reason why I ask is because I've seen Cena on documentaries and interviews on MULTIPLE occasions say he's "waiting" for guys to work hard to come up to his level. He says he wants guys on his level to work with, so he says. Of course what he's saying in these interviews could be just bullshit, but I have always been curious about that. I know that he did throw a hissy fit about jobbing to Miz at Wrestlemania 27, but come on....its the Miz were talking about, he should not have been in the main event or world champion to begin with. But other than that, I have never heard anyone say anything remotely negative about him using his pull to fuck guys over.

You would think you would hear more about that, considering you have guys like Punk and Orton at the top who are very vocal about how things really are in WWE. In Punk's RAW shoot last year, he did say Cena was a big McMahon suck up, but I think all the top stars in WWE (except maybe for Punk) we're indeed, or at least seen as ass kissers!

    ReplyDelete
  44. WWE wants to get Punk over so badly as a heel. Why not set up a fake "Make A Wish" promo and Punk just yells at the kid.

I doubt Make A Wish would go for it, however.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Use that other company, "Grant a Promise". Seems legit to me.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Just how cool is that kid? He customizes his shirt and foam finger just so that Bryan wouldn't feel bad. And that bit with Kane is hilarious:

"Are you going to beat up Santa Claus?"
    "... Maybe."

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm sure you're the king of your basement universe. If your claim to fame is spreading some scanned comic, you're a fucking loser - face it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I find it just a bit entertaining that you, a guy who said he only watches because of his kids and that wrestling is fake/gay, yet constantly crawls back to the product and this blog, is talking smack about other people not being able to quit.

    ReplyDelete
  49. One interesting thing about Cena over the last 15 months is that he has not had 1 world title reign and has not won any meaningful match since mitb. He is the first guy to win mitb and not win the title. He lost to the rock and johnny ace. His only meaningful wins this year were mitb and lesner. Overall, his year has been pretty shitty.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Bryan doesn't turn enough heads in the airport. Or something.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Can I just say how awesome it is that Scott no sells Attitude Adjustment? FU indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  52. But he's main evented just about EVERY PPV, completely made Punk look like shit (note that NO ONE really calls out Cena on what a horrible year he's had but Cena has spent countless segments denouncing and outright lying about every single good thing Punk has done this year), while at the same time, also stealing the Johnny Ace storyline from Punk so that HE and HE ALONE send Ace packing.

Not to mention getting AJ reassigned to him after she hit it big via her storyline with Bryan and Punk.

He may not have the title, but he's made damn sure that he's the center of the universe PLUS stole all of Punk's thunder, if not outright made it the central narrative of the company that Punk has been a failure of epic proportions.

    ReplyDelete
  53. And fuck, part of me thinks that the only reason Cena ISN'T champion, is that the WWE probably promised Punk in writing a lengthy as hell world title reign. Not to mention that having Cena having to eat the humiliation of being the first MITB winner to lose his shot at the title, was probably only agreed to by Cena, in exchange for him being allowed to bury Punk six feet under as well as Punk being made to turn heel, so that he can continue to be the only game in town.....

    ReplyDelete
  54. Says the asshate that calls himself Captain Hindsight. You are the real loser.

    ReplyDelete
  55. For all the negative stuff we say about wrestling it's moments like this that remind me why I fell in love with it in the first place, larger than life persona's that can inspire the imagination and create lots of joy.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Christ, go back on your lithium.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I wouldn't be surprised if he uses the Make A Wish stuff as his stroke with the company. He's constantly the focus of the show, just like Shawn Michaels was in 1997 despite not holding the title from that Thursday episode of Raw before Final Four to Survivor Series.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Can you elaborate on Cena "throwing a hissy fit" about jobbing to Miz at WM27? I find it hard to believe that he would have a problem with the ending, if for no other reason than that loss specifically led to a gigantic match with Rock the following year. Hard to see where he'd rather get a nothing win over Miz than a huge marquee match against Rock.

That aside, as stale and over-pushed as Cena is, I don't think ANYBODY that has known him or worked with him has ever had a bad word about him.

    ReplyDelete
  59. You will never ever touch a boob.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Scrolling through the comments, it looks like it has name calling in an article about a kid with cancer to fall back on.

    ReplyDelete
  61. 26 minute Daniel Bryan match on Main Event tonight. Just sayin...

    ReplyDelete
  62. I know the mother of the kid. They started this big facebook campaign a few months ago and a local DJ got wind of it and put them them on the show. Turned out he knew Jerry McDevitt and got him to set it up. Although I'm surprised he didn't sue Connor because Stone Crusher is too much like Stone Cold.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I've seen clips of the Rock, Undertaker and others do make a wish stuff. It's always heartwarming, but back in 2000, I don't remember them constantly reminding us how much they were involved. In 2000 the Rock got that award for granting wishes like Cena has, so obviously they mentioned that, but they didn't try and use his make a wishes to get us to like the Rock by promoting it in video packages.

With Cena it's like they guilt tripping us and/or doing it for PR. I'm sure Cena the man enjoys it, but the way the company presents it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  64. WWE is a lot more into quantifying things these days. 10 time champion, 300 Wishes granted, 400 day title reign, etc. I think they do it to make themselves seem more important, whereas in 2000 such affirmations still weren't necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I was going to say something bad will happen to you for being a thief - but look at your life. Clearly it already has.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Is there no love for Kane? I love that he showed up too.

    ReplyDelete
  67. You've seen the Undertaker grant wishes? He does that? I figured he wouldn't, given the gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Punk should copy the Chappelle skit, go to the hospital and kick the kids ass in video games.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Exactly. Now they feel as if they need to portray themselves as important, because they know they're not and it just comes off as insecure, but in 2000 they were on top of the world.

    ReplyDelete
  70. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfJnSPhV1-8

    ReplyDelete
  71. Did Triple H actually say that? I would hope he wouldn't bury talent publicly as such, though I would definitely enjoy finding a new level of hatred for the shithead if true.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I didn't think it were possible to like this guy more than I already did, but damned if he didn't find a way. Kudos to him for being a stand-up human being, even if it jives with the company narrative about how only Cena serves the kids. It would not shock me in the LEAST if the company promotes a Cena Make-a-Wish appearance on their next live broadcast w/ no mention of Daniel Bryan's appearance. In fact, lest they've already covered this on a broadcast I've missed, I expect it.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I don't remember the exact details at this point as its been a while now, but it was pretty known that Cena had an issue with jobbing to Miz at Wrestlemania. He was giving them a hard time about it the whole time before the show. Okay...so maybe it wasn't a "hissy fit" or "temper tantrum" but he certainly did not want to lose. But I guess I was more asking about examples of Cena using politics to derail anyone, if he has at all.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Kayfabe, Mark, Kayfabe!

Just kidding. Good on him, too.

    ReplyDelete
  75. There's been a few guys lately that have been burying Cena on Twatter and in interviews, though it's been a bunch of nobodies (can't even remember any of their names) who just seem to want attention.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Or Bryan doesn't really want to make a big deal about it...

    ReplyDelete
  77. Have you met the guy? Cause otherwise that seems equally as ridiculous as calling a wrestler one of the biggest assholes of all time.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I don't think you understand what the word proof means.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I don't know you, but you are a dull luddite, if you think death of a family is anything but amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Cena said HE doesn't want a big deal of it...

    ReplyDelete
  81. You missed the point entirely Mommy's Boy: I don't sit here and whine like a cunt about Cena and the product "not being for me" and how the company owes me something.

I'm completely ok with it not appealing to me.

Now let's get back to screeching about Cena everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  82. You keep fighting the good fight against...comic books? lmao

    ReplyDelete
  83. Keep doing anything BUT writing a comic book, lol. Your opinion will only become more respected.

    ReplyDelete
  84. He used to give interviews on the late night shows as well before they suddenly decided to go full r-word with the gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hit every check mark there Chan.

Wrestling's fun? I thought wrestling was fake and gay, just like comic books and cartoons and video games and it was designed for manchildren who don't have FOUR KIDS and a WIFE cause they're straight and have jobs and had sex cause they have kids and don't like things that are FAKE and GAY and watch football.

You're such a hypocrite Chan. You can't have it both ways. You can't be better than wrestling and only watch REAL sports and also hang around live PPV threads talking about how awesome Daniel Bryan is.

    ReplyDelete
  86. He's not on record or anything but he's made comments in the past about how if the internet marks got their way you'd have a bunch of little guys with no personality main eventing and not drawing. Plus I've always assumed a lot of the stuff Cole said about him back in the day was coming from the attitude of the guys at the top.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I'm the exact same way. Don't remotely give a damn about comic books, and I really don't like superhero movies either.

    ReplyDelete
  88. If I've seen proof numerous times that D-Bry is one of the nicest guys, then I can use that same logic to say Punk is one of the douchiest.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I can't watch football and Blue's Clues?

Weird. Seems I've been doing it just fine

Who said wrestling was fun? I said trolling -YOU- is fun, get it right. "I will always find the same level of hilarity here."

And you will always respond and create it for me.

    Happy holidays sport!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Cheerful Chanukah.

Didn't answer any of my points? That Chan is such a scamp.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I don't blame Cena for it but I kind of agree. I think it's just the current WWE notion of "We have to make sure we tell everyone how awesome we are constantly". I let it slide because they do some good things and if they want to say how awesome they are for doing those things, fine, better than not doing it at all, but yeah, it can get annoying when it feels like they're trying to guilt us into cheering Cena more. Especially considering most people understand they're watching a fictional TV show...my issue with Cena has nothing to do with John Cena the person, I just find John Cena the character stale.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Answered every single one actually. At no point did I say wrestling was fun, at no point did I say I was better than wrestling.

I addressed both of your points, you just have nothing nothing to respond with so now you're going with the exhausted internet troll strategy of pretending you meant something else. (Hit every mark there huh?)

FAKE and GAY? That sure does rile you. Something tells me I hit on the reason daddy dearest dropped you like a bad habit. Was he ashamed of his youngest being a little femme? lmao

    ReplyDelete
  93. Ah, forgot that you're just a troll, and an avowed troll at that. At least Dougie has the intelligence to hide his obnoxiousness behind a veneer of Voltaire-esque freedom of speech.

I'm not offended by your words, I"m offended by your hypocrisy and immaturity. It isn't the words themselves but rather the intent behind them. Seriously, calling me gay? Like that's some sort of insult.

Not only do you waste your time commentating on a show you don't watch, you also tell people to stop watching a show that you don't watch or like. The layers of your "logic" would make Christopher Nolan blush.

You're like an evangelist christian desperately preaching outside of a science convention. It's like the faint yapping of a tiny dog hidden behind layers of cyclone fences. Do you really have nothing else in your life (like...I dunno, watching show you do like? Raising your kids?) that you have to get some sort of aggression out in your castrated sub-urban life by trolling message boards? Get a hobby, watch porn, play minecraft, do online poker.

In other words, get a life Chan.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I didn't figure I'd get a legit answer. I couldn't care less about you being gay really, just curious as it would add another cause to your arrested development. I wasn't "calling you gay" I was asking if you're gay. There's a big difference there that you will I'm sure refuse to acknowledge.

Again you're making things up and arguing them, it really is your way. I never told people to stop watching the show *if they liked it*. I do quite enjoy laughing at the people that say they hate it but can't bring themselves to stop. Again, a huge difference between what I write and what you interpret. I trust that you'll refuse to accept that too.

I don't commentate on a show I don't watch so I'm not wasting time at all. If I'm in a live thread I'm watching, if I'm not then I'm commentating on a letter to Scott or more typically an angle from *when I was a child*.

You forgot I was just a troll? Really? Because I've said as much six posts in a row now.

Lol. I do so look forward to you making some stuff up and calling me on it again. This shit never gets old.

I've got another 13 days of vacation I could do this forever.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Seriously?

How do i miss these threads?!

    ReplyDelete
  96. You can be pretty safe in assuming that any time I post, give it 48 hours, and Phred will have a response.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Uh, first of all, I'm mocking you for always bringing up the fact that you're married and have kids, as if you constantly need to remind everyone that even if you watch wrestling you're still a mature adult.

So let me get this straight (see what I did there).

    1) People shouldn't watch things they don't like (I agree).

    2) You hate wrestling (actually our argument started when you said this was a place to mock wrestling, not discuss and appreciate it).

    3) You watch wrestling and spend money on the product.

    Fin.

    ReplyDelete
  98. But you are gay. Jesus, I'm fucking amazing.

    lmao

    ReplyDelete
  99. Okay, so you watch the PPVs cause your kids want them and then you comment on a blog...while watching the PPV...and looking over your kids...

Y'know, if you'd just admit you liked wrestling, this whole discussion can actually move forward.

Our first argument was over you saying Scott hates wrestling, and me telling you that you're so wrong you've turned left. The "family thing" was mostly initiated by you and consisted of me calling you a shitty father for letting a character as hypocritical and douchey as Cena's be a role model for your kids.

These accusations towards my (imaginary) unstable family life is a product of your mind, I don't have any hang-ups about kids beyond not wanting any of my own, my family life is the most stable and loving out of all the people I know.

And the only hang-up I have about my father was his death last November, it was laying somewhat heavily on my mind.

Your life doesn't offend me, your bizarre hypocrisy offends me.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I like that you keep repeating that you have no issues with your family after my spending seven months getting you to admit that you do, lol.

This has really ceased to be entertaining. Now I just feel bad for you and hope you're able to work through all this.

Admit I like wrestling? Who said I didn't? Discussion move forward? *THIS* is the discussion sport, me correctly reading your psychological problems.

That's our relationship. This hasn't had anything to do with wrestling since...well...ever really. Since that very first time that you made your daddy issues clear during the Cena thread in April.

    Keep up.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Chin...do you only have like...3 posts? I swear to go you say the same shit every single time.

And you like wrestling, even though it's gay and fake and for kids (your words, not mine). Okay then...this has been, well, I'm not going to say illuminating, so let me just stick with baffling.

Happy New Years scamp, hopefully you won't get too drunk.

    ReplyDelete
  102. It is gay. It is fake. It is for kids. I'm glad we finally drug you to that obvious reality.

The difference is that it doesn't bother me. I accept the show for being the utter nonsense that it is. I can cope.

As we've seen with you, that's not really your style. No coping for Phred, more jealous attacks on a six year old for having a father that accepts him, that's your bit.

Of course these posts sound the same, your compulsion to respond to me is always based on the same hang-up that you absolutely don't have...totally.

Didn't drink for New Year's, sat around the house with MY WIFE and MY KIDS (and I mean that as exactly the personal attack that you take it as)
