Rude vs. Savage

Never to let anything go I did want to add to the match selections of the day.

This first Rude-Savage match is the one I described yesterday, it's a lot of stalling in the first five minutes so be prepared. The actual four minutes of contact isn't awful but nothing great either. Still watching Savage play the babyface in Memphis is something different.

And the second match is a great one. No DQ with Bundy/Rude vs. Savage/Lawler at the Mid-South Coliseum. Yup before the Megapowers existed in the WWF, Savage/Lawler was definitely the Megapowers of Memphis. This is the perfect definition of a Memphis-style brawl.

Enjoy.

  1. I love the super exaggerated motion of wrapping the chain around the hand to make sure everyone in the arena knows what's going on. And of course it is a fuck finish, because you have to get the same people to come back to the same building next week.

  2. Yeah, they sold that match in a bunch of houses if I'm not mistaken.

  3. The mind-blowing takeaway here: at some point someone decided Bundy needed to show his legs.

  4. NOBODY calls an out-of-control brawl like Lance Russell. Hall of Fame NOW.

  5. Lawler was always great with exaggerated gestures so that everyone but the ref knew he was cheating.
