Shock'n Y'all

I meant to put this up when I did the LoW Roundtable Worst Characters review last week. There are a MILLION things going on here beyond the silliness of Fred Ottman busting his ass. Davey Boy's robe is tremendous for starters. Sid's rather ferocious mullet perm is another.

If you listen closely at about 35 seconds you'll hear DBS say "He fell flat on his ass".

Dusty's telling of the story is really tremendous. Even in his advanced stage I think Dusty is tremendously underused in their DVD area because of his ability to tell stories. Hopefully when (if) they release the WarGames DVD they will allow him to do alternate commentary.

Oh yeah, here's how far behind I am on RAW, I didn't even know the show was in Tampa tonight until I heard it on the radio Saturday. I searched for good seats but only third-level terrace is available and all my hookups at the Forum are doing NHL stuff today to move those tickets (GO LIGHTNING!) so I'll DVR and watch the college football game that will pop the biggest rating in ESPN history tonight.

  1. Shockmaster needs a Mattel figure like yesterday... duel-pack him with Zack Ryder...

  2. I love the promo with everyone else leading up to his entrance. It's literally just people yelling over each other. Flair's meant to be the host and he just wanders off.

"SHALL I TELL THEM STING? NO. I WON'T TELL THEM... I'M GONNA LET STING... TELL THE PEOPLE... WHO THE SECRET PARTNER... IS GONNA BE..."

  3. Sids hairdo was a thing of beauty

  4. Seriously, how did Dusty look at that outfit and think "this is gonna make money"? The glittered up Stormtrooper helmet?

The best part of the whole thing is you hear Davey Boy laughing and saying "he fell on his arse" on the air.

  5. If you listen closely, you can hear Steve Carrell yell "Loud Noises" in the background.

  6. And then they all turn their backs to the camera. Stage picture people.

  7. I love how the Shockmaster starts gesturing while Sid is talking off camera so at first it seems like Sid is doing his voice.

  8. My favorite part is Sting saying "None other than...the Shockmaster!" *None other than* a guy who's never been mentioned before? Why of course, why didn't we think of him?!

  9. And despite having half the hair that Nash does

  10. Fifi the Maid is in this for far too short a time.

  11. I thought back then and still think now that Sid was just the coolest-seeming guy. He just screams wrestler. It's like he has the good qualities of both Hogan and warrior without the cartoonish crap.

  12. Seanbaby did a brief bit on the Shockmaster a couple months ago.

  14. So we can expect Calibur Winfield's column on the Shockmaster in 2014?

  15. Congrats to anybody who guessed that Alabama would score at least 40 points.

Seriously though, I'm sick of Alabama winning the BCS every year. Hopefully next year, the Bulldogs continue to improve and finally end Alabama's streak of mediocre BCS title games.

  16. A million times yes. Even if he HADN'T fallen through the set, this still would have been a long remembered awful debut.
