Elimination Chamber: The Thread

I’ve been pre-posting to the blog with some stuff, including this thread, because I’m actually out of town for what is a long weekend here in Saskatchewan and I won’t be around to review the PPV or RAW on Monday, so feel free to discuss the show here!  And hopefully no one dies while I’m gone.

Comments

  1. JR has more or less guaranteed that Seth Rollins is getting the title tonight. Or that someone is doing something with barbecue sauce. Or something. I don't know; I'm not totally fluent in JR-ese.

    ReplyDelete
  2. From what I can tell about 80% of what he says on his Q & As can be translated to "You're just a stupid mark and have no idea how wrestling works."

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh shit. If Scott's going away for a few days, then SOMETHING big is going to happen. It's like when someone says there's not a lot of news lately.

    ReplyDelete
  4. He's at least nicer about it than someone like Mark Madden who bashes marks that care about "fake wrestling"

    ReplyDelete
  5. Predictions: Henry wins EC, Cesaro retains, Team Cena wins, ADR retains, and Rock retains. Heyman accidentally costs Punk the match. Punk is pissed, argues with Heyman and shoves him down. Cue Here Comes the Pain.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Like all of that except I have a horrible feeling they go with Swagger

    ReplyDelete
  7. I won't bitch if Swagger wins. At least it is something new.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I could see them giving the belt to Miz since they seem to be so into him right now, but I think you may be spot on.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I suppose as long as it's not Randall

    ReplyDelete
  10. I won't even bitch if Orton wins. Heel Orton vs face ADR could be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Guess I'll toss out my predictions: Rock retains. ADR retains. Henry wins. Cena's team wins. Kaitlyn retains. Miz wins.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'm pissed right now because the local bar where I always watch wrestling is not showing the PPV tonight for some stupid NBA All-Star Game

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wacky prediction time. I'm booking for what would amuse me most not what would actually happen.

    Cesaro over Miz clean.
Rock beats Punk, but it's not clean. Triple threat at mania!

Cena, Ryback, Sheamus have the Shield beat but Brock interferes on the Shield's behalf.

    Henry wins the chamber.

Del Rio retains over Big Show. Dolph cashes in when Big Show flips out after the match. 4 way WHC match at wrestlemania!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Could definitely see them doing a four way WHC match at Mania. Gotta fit the guys on the card somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That would make me sad

    ReplyDelete
  16. As an Orton mark, heel Orton vs. most anyone on SmackDown is interesting to me. As a face he's more than run his course.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Over/Under Cena will turn heel predictions tonight: 10

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think Scott gets a long weekend because of Family Day. Horseshit!

    ReplyDelete
  19. While you're waiting, here's Botchamania 224
    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xxktze_botchamania-224_sport
(are cheap plugs allowed on here?)

    ReplyDelete
  20. As long as you don't start ripping off videos from Cracked.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Christian returns tonight, destroying somebody to take their spot in the Chamber.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Seeing the word destroy used in relation to Christian is just as weird as seeing the word healthy used in relation to Christian.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Who is this guy announcing with Striker on the preshow? Isn't this normally Scott Stanford's spot?

    ReplyDelete
  24. The British table bit was awesome...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Tony Dawson. He works or worked NXT for a while. I like Stanford a lot better because he actually has personality, but Vince's choices in announcers past 1996 have not been stellar.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm not impressed by the Tensai/Brodus team, but the double splash is a decent finish for them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Couldn't Primo & Epico have been put into this spot? Reunited the Rhodes Scholars 3 weeks after they split just to job them to the Hip Hop Hippo's on the pre-show?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I like Stanford a good bit too, and have been underwhelmed by this guy so far.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Or Hunico and Camacho or The Usos... I don't get it either.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hunico and Camacho still have a job?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Because they're FAT!

    ReplyDelete
  32. (Scoffs) stop being a jerk... wait... DO they still have a job?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Haven't seen them in months, which is a shame since Hunico is actually pretty damn good.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Have Brock Lesnar and CM Punk ever been seen in the same place at the same time?

Maybe it's Bruce Banner/Incredible Hulk kind of thing, and they are both one and the same person??

    ReplyDelete
  35. Stanford's absence can be explained by the Zack Ryder Effect.

    ReplyDelete
  36. That much awesome on the screen at the same time will more than likely end the universe.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The Fall of Humanities! Great way to beat a team of scholars. Get a real major!

    ReplyDelete
  38. lol. Can you come up with a precise definition for that?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Time to fire up WWE '13 and swap the entrances of Christian and Mark Henry...

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well Stanford has a real news job as well, could of just been busy with it and unavailable tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anyone known to be associated with Zack Ryder's Z! True Long Island Stories have been known to either be pulled off TV (John Morrison, Scott Stanford) or suffer horrendous bouts of Jobber-itis (Dolph Ziggler). The only one able to overcome this phenomena is John Cena, by virtue of simply being John Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Should've gone for the cheap pop plug.

Enjoy Botchmania from right here...in the Blog of Doom!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Camacho has been on NXT a bit, I think Hunico is hurt though.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm convinced that the only reason they did the Rhodes Scholars break up angle was because they need over heels to feed to the babyfaces for the WM buildup. Expect them to do nothing but job and then get back together after WM.

    ReplyDelete
  45. And their shadows weigh forty two pounds, lemme tell you once again!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I feel like Vince is just trolling us at this point by having not done it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nah he won't be back and when he does it won't be in that significant of a role

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hmm... I didn't know that. Good for him.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Alberto Del Curtain Jerker.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The should just rename the WHC the Curtain Jerker

    ReplyDelete
  51. I would have started with the EC match.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Any chance of Dolph cashing

    ReplyDelete
  53. why is canada getting a long weekend for presidents day?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Second most important spot on the card next to the main event.

    ReplyDelete
  55. World Heavyweight Title Match Curtain Jerks again! Considering it'll probably do the same thing at Mania, i think it's time for a reunification.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'd much rather see a cash in at Mania now.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Was that cameraman supposed to get doused with paint? Or do we have one unemployed cameraman now?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah its a worthless title, at least they picked one to make the most important. Gotta take a win where you can get it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I can't wait to watch the Chamber match later for a shot at the Curtain Jerking Championship!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I want him to call his shot tonight. Challenge the champ at Mania like a man's man.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Then why is the 4th most important match in it?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Am I the only one streaming this place holder ppv so I can watch the all star game?

    ReplyDelete
  63. That's not what #heels do.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Giving the WHC a push tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I don't think it's meant anything since Daniel Bryan won it, no offence to Dragon, but if he was ever going to win the world title and have it mean something it would be right now, when he's one of the most over people in the company, not after jobbing a hundred times to sin cara then cashing it in. Before that we had Christian and Orton having a war over it and Mark Henry's Hall of Pain. Since then we've had a lackluster Sheamus reign, a boring Big Show reign...and an abrupt Del Rio win.

    ReplyDelete
  66. So the World Heavyweight title was positioned above the WWE Title in my eyes from it's inception in 2002 to about 2007 or so but was there a specific moment where the WWE Title regained it's top spot?

    ReplyDelete
  67. All Star Saturday over All Star Sunday

    ReplyDelete
  68. I went to the one in Vegas in 06...yikes it was the scariest thing I've ever been a part of. They wouldn't even let us back in the hotel because of all the shit going on. But in general I agree, I remember as a kid they used to play Above the Rim after it late saturday night. However last nights sucked.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wrong, but good guess!

    ReplyDelete
  70. When Triple H won it?

    ReplyDelete
  71. I like the idea of starting with a title match. Just surprised that it's the WHC seemingly every time.

    ReplyDelete
  72. when was it then? because I'm pretty sure them pushing a year long Cena reign and putting him over HHH and HBK at back to back wrestlemania main events is a pretty big way to show superiority for a title.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The only thing Ricardo loves more than ADR is that bucket.

    ReplyDelete
  74. See above.

The title that HHH holds is the main title.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Nah. Batista's win at Mania XXI over Trips for the WHC was much higher on the totem pole than Cena's over JBL. Unless you meant the next year then yeah i guess you're right.

    ReplyDelete
  76. This is actually pretty accurate, I'd say. I was thinking around the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yea cause they are going to have Rock be the opening match tonight :P

    ReplyDelete
  78. That was an AWFUL splash

    ReplyDelete
  79. No you're right, at that time the WHC was still the biggest title, so i would have to guess it was at WM22 when Rey won the WHC, and the WWE title was the main. That to me was when WWE title took it's importance back.

    ReplyDelete
  80. That's true. They got they're groove back with The Vince contest in 2000 and have been going down since

    ReplyDelete
  81. Riccardo is ADR's spit bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Big show going for the power bomb. Did he ever use that as a finisher.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Mark Henry needs to beat the crap out of Dolph Ziggler, take his briefcase, storm down to the ring, and get his Championship back.

    ReplyDelete
  84. The blake one was the only real epic contest of recent times.

    ReplyDelete
  85. This is where you run into a problem if a guy's finish is a punch. Why would he grab his throat for chokeslam rather than just punch him?

    ReplyDelete
  86. They are obviously building to a future Swagger vs Del Rio match, do you think they have the guts to have that at WM?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Not to my recollection. In fact, I can't even remember him using it before.

    ReplyDelete
  88. What about Dolph Ziggler,Big Show,Mark Henry & Randy Orton? Mania will be filled with multiman matches just to get the Top 25 guys on the card.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Only if it's not for the WHC. Maybe Ziggler cashes in tonight, and Jericho wins the Chamber. Then run ADR-Swagger at WM.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Hopefully Swagger is buried back to nxt before that happens.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I dunno. Do you think they have the guts to put the WHC match on the preshow?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Could you explain what was scary about it?

    ReplyDelete
  93. From a psychology standpoint, wouldn't it make more sense to put the armbreaker on the chokeslam/punch arm?

    ReplyDelete
  94. That would have been a better finisher in the world of pro wrestling than a punch imo

    ReplyDelete
  95. This match isn't half bad.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Mark Henry would like a word with you.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Maybe do Swagger/Jericho to build Swagger a little bit before Swagger/ADR?

    ReplyDelete
  98. Maffew, time to plug botchamania again...

    ReplyDelete
  99. Agreed. Botched kick there thou

    ReplyDelete
  100. no wait big botch...nvm

    ReplyDelete
  101. MAFFEW WHERE YOU AT

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh vey. That was fun for a while til that kick

    ReplyDelete
  103. I really hope that's the end of this feud.

    ReplyDelete
  104. That botch, dammit... it would've been a hell of a finish if he hadn't blown that spot and sucked some of the life out of the audience.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Ziggler where are you?

    ReplyDelete
  106. I think he even botched it on the 2nd attempt too. Shame, because they were having a decent match.

    ReplyDelete
  107. That one was wrapped for Maffew with a bow.

    ReplyDelete
  108. So is Punk/Rock the main event or the "main event"

    ReplyDelete
  109. Wow they are seriously going with del rio as champ at WM? good for him...guess that means Henry is winning tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Lots of, lets say "west coast gangsters." LIke 100's. After the event there were dudes flipping over tables, guys straight brawling, and people getting robbed left and right. I saw some dude get stabbed right inside cesars place. Shots fired out in the street, someone lit a car on fire. The casino that we went after leaving the Thomas and Mack told us to leave at our own risk, and Mandalay (the hotel that I was at) wouldn't let us back in for hours because of all the robbing and violence. By the way, none of this shit really made it in the papers. Vegas did a great job of covering it up, just a total gang fight/rapper entourage fight/weird scene. I'll never forget that shit.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Fuck the WWE for showing a trailer.

    ReplyDelete
  112. So much for Ziggler. I guess that means Mizark Henry will definitely win the Chamber now. Good. I personally hope they let him squash Del Rio for the title and put him over strong. I'm digging his character right now. That being said, the likely result is Del Rio in a squeaker....Henry lays him out....and Ziggler FINALLY cashes in.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Feels good seeing a guy I actually like get a big main event push like this.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Please don't let Miz win, please don't let Miz win, please don't let Miz win...

    ReplyDelete
  115. That trailer needed more fake Cole laughing.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Now get show the fuck out of the title picture and put him with Ryback or someother freak

    ReplyDelete
  117. Cesaro will win for America. What a patriot.

    ReplyDelete
  118. That honestly would be a waste of Ryback. Just retire, Big Slow.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Even the way Miz walks to ring looks fake.

    ReplyDelete
  120. So who's getting fed to cena as a freak of the month title challenger at b ppv first, sandow or cesaro?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Antonio Cesaro is so much an American that 25 Bald Eagles committed suicide so that they could be used for Cesaro's ring jacket.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I think the gimmick is death, crowd doesn't know what to do with a guy badmouthing American's but waving the flag Hacksaw style. Cesaro's good enough to overcome it but the quicker they drop it and move him up the card the better.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Just squash the hell out of Miz here and "make him humble" like the Iron Sheik would say. Put him as announcer for a bit and then repackage him as a heel where he still has "value".

    ReplyDelete
  124. DDP has the biggest boner right now.

    ReplyDelete
  125. John Cena - "Why Not Both?"

    ReplyDelete
  126. Pretty sure the crowd knows what Cesaro's schtick is. It's so obvious.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Shit, haven't seen a shoulder break since the old days of "the enforcer" AA. Sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Whats the deal with Mizs shoulder? legit or kayfabe, i've got the all star game on

    ReplyDelete
  129. I'm glad that Alberto Del Rio didn't kick the bucket tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Who cares. I'll be in full zzzzzzz mode by then until the Summerslam push. Post WM to circa July WWE is just AWFUL these days.

    ReplyDelete
  131. We didn't storm the beaches of Normandy wearing shoulder tape you pussy!

    ReplyDelete
  132. yeah its not exactly a high concept, pretty sure people get it

    ReplyDelete
  133. Christian v Cesaro at WM! book it!

    ReplyDelete
  134. It's The Miz. Who cares?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Cole-ism of the Day: "Trying to steal one"

    ReplyDelete
  136. Christian lost too much momentum due to his injurys over the last 18 months. They don't trust him enough to elevate him that high so quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  137. LOL. Christian won't even smell another WM.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Last time a shoulder breaker won a match was over 20 years ago, when Big Van Vader beat Ron Simmons for the WCW World TItle.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Christian is best as a heel.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Pretty sure that tape was made in Russia. Get out of my country you commie bastard!

    ReplyDelete
  141. Cesaro v Sheamus v Barrett at WM! Unify the secondary titles, make a real man's championship, and have one of the most brutal brawls ever.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Did you know: The Miz is now a face?

    ReplyDelete
  143. You'd think they'd depush sheamus that quick?

    ReplyDelete
  144. Special guest referee - William Regal Special guest timekeeper - Fit Finlay!

    ReplyDelete
  145. Putting an American in with two dastardly foreign heels like Sheamus and Barrett is so unfair. But Cesaro will the use the power of freedom to overcome.

    ReplyDelete
  146. They'll probably push him because the Pope is in the news.

    ReplyDelete
  147. A million times THIS to so much of your post that concerns unifying the secondary titles--should have be done AGES ago.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Miz was born in Kenya.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Miz is a reality star pretending to be a wrestler pretending to be a wrestler. I haven't been this confused since Victor/Victoria.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Hey Yo

Have a great night folks. And remember, its never the weed and coke that kills. So stay away from painkiller!

    ReplyDelete
  151. But then you would only have one champion to job out every week.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Nah, the crickets are chirping too loudly for me to hear anything when Miz makes an appearance these days.

    ReplyDelete
  153. IRON CLAD CONTRACT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Miz shouldn't even attempt a dragon screw leg whip...ugh...

    ReplyDelete
  155. This is a quality match. Wait i mean it was... What the fuck kinda finish is this bullsheet?

    ReplyDelete
  156. Shouldn't you change your name to "miz4dagold", now that Flair himself has deemed him the heir apparent?

    ReplyDelete
  157. Well, that ending sucked.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Wow...that's a TERRIBLE finish!

    ReplyDelete
  159. Lil Naitch was probably angry that Miz was ripping off his idol

    ReplyDelete
  160. BAHAHAHAHA! Vince is still protecting Face Miz? WTF.

    ReplyDelete
  161. That was good match, god damn DQ.

    ReplyDelete
  162. DQ's for a low blow sets a dangerous precedent...

    ReplyDelete
  163. oh god now...lol.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Really? would it have hurt to have cesaro go over miz clean?...its the MIZ!

    ReplyDelete
  165. Typical cheap tricks by a dirty foreigner. We need to protect our borders from commie bastards like Miz!

    ReplyDelete
  166. That was a lame finish, just as the match was warming up. Still, Cesaro retains!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Okay, I now believe I will never buy a badass version of Miz. I just kinda laugh when he puts on a his mean face.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Only if Kofi Kingston is the champ.

    ReplyDelete
  169. This feud must continue...but why???

    ReplyDelete
  170. Who wouldn't snap seeing someone fucking up a figure four?

    ReplyDelete
  171. Miz vs Undertaker.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I wish he'd go back to Kenya.

    ReplyDelete
  173. he went from miz the dickeater to miz the dickhitter

    ReplyDelete
  174. Miz is a perfect example of a guy who was in the best possible gimmick, a whiny chickenshit heel. Anything else is doomed for failure.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I'm not from Africa, you're from Africa you African booty scratcher

    ReplyDelete
  176. That match was actually decent before the dumb ending. Will they actually respect the US title enough to book a rematch at 'Mania?

    ReplyDelete
  177. Time for the match we've all been waiting for...Kaitlyn vs Tamina!

    ReplyDelete
  178. I thought his best gimmick was when they stuck him in the crowd with a microphone to introduce video packages...

    ReplyDelete
  179. Did you know that...ah, forget it.

    ReplyDelete
