Deadspin story about Hall and Roberts living with DDP

In case anyone hasn't hit you up with it yet, this is a pretty fantastic read on DDP helping out Jake and Hall.

G
reat read.  I'm just endlessly fascinated by this whole DDP/Hall/Roberts story.  And Jake's "spaghetti" promo in there had me laughing for a bit because you can just picture him delivering that exact reading.  Kudos to the author of this.

  1. I'm still shocked WWE hasn't found a way to make this about them yet.

What I loved hearing in that piece is not just that Hall and Roberts have been clean, it's that they're interested in doing things with their life post-DDP (I, for one, would totally watch a Scott Hall travel show). To have something to strive for, something other than a paycheck or adulation from 500 people in a small gym, will definitely aid them in turning around their lives. Hope they find it.

  4. This is why I'm somewhat worried by Jake setting a Royal Rumble appearance for himself as a goal. It seems like he's still chasing that one bit of audience adulation. I worry what'll happen if he doesn't get it...or, perhaps if he does get put into the match.

I'm sure they've tried, and DDP probably told them to piss off.

  6. Man, DDP's a helluva dude. I really hope Hall and Roberts find the strength to get clean and stay clean.

  8. Doubtful, he would want the advertising they could provide him.

  9. I just want to drop a quick plug for DDP Yoga. I just did my first complete 30 days and I can't believe how much better I'm feeling. The Diamond Cutter workout is one of the hardest things I've ever done! I strongly recommend this workout to anyone!

  11. A Jake Roberts and Razor Ramon appearance at the Rumble would be about the coolest shit ever.

Like we can't bump one of the Uso's and someone else to free up two spots??

  12. Speaking of Hall, when are we gonna get these three mofos in the HOF?

DDP might have his detractors, but fuck it, put him in just for doing what a decade of trips to rehab never could.

  13. Scott Hall has a defib pacemaker? That's not good. My dad got one about five years before he died. Your heart has to be in pretty bad shape.

  14. Yeah I'm pretty sure DDP won't do that to WWE if they want to try his Yoga stuff out in their rehab programs.

DDP deserves it just for the fact that he had a damn good career despite the fact that he was 35 when he had his first match. Maybe I still have a shot after all...

I'm sure DDP would be fine with that. As cult said though, WWE would try to make it all about them, and I don't think he'd go for that shit at all.

Why? I don't think he's in it for the money, and if it's not going to help Hall or The Snake (it would probably have the opposite effect) than I doubt he'll be on board.

  18. Did you read the article? This is a business for him, and he's marketing the hell out of it.

Hahahahahahahah! Come on man, I know DDP's a cool dude and while I do think it's not ALL about the money, like Chris Hirsch said, this IS a business for the man.

DDP's like Tony Robbins, he wants to help people sure, but getting paid is priority #1.
