EVERYTHING IS FINE

Scott,

Just received an e-mail from TNA that their Video OnDemand will stop service on August 2nd.  I'm thinking its shutting down because of their new YouTube subscription, but maybe its something more.  In the e-mail it says that refunds will be given by Friday to subscribers.  Let's see if that actually happens or we get delayed in payment just like the wrestlers.

Take care!

This is all stuff that every perfectly healthy wrestling company does in the span of a few weeks to drastically slash costs.

Insert Airplane clip here.

Comments

  1. Just like the Titanic.. TNA is unsinkable!!!

  2. I can't wait for Triple H to show up on Impact.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Was gonna ask the same question.

But, eh, it was such a nondescript show; not that bad, not that great. If it was awesome or horrible, I'd be pissy about this. Yes, not getting a free description of something I already watched makes me indignant.

    ReplyDelete
  4. It is because of the YouTube TNA Plus+ deal. Why have two On Demand services?

  6. And insert Dougie telling us we don't know what we're talking about because we haven't seen the books here.

    ReplyDelete
  7. lol, I haven't watched a wrestling show all the way through in probably 8 years. But I still read Scott's recaps and track down any matches I need to see.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Dougie makes a valid point, though. I cannot believe I said that.

    ReplyDelete
  9. And cuts a 30 minute promo.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Seems appropriate.............

  17. If it is for the YouTube deal, that makes sense. WAAAAYYYY more pageviews with YouTube.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm sorry facts are so disturbing to you and your unfounded speculation.

    ReplyDelete
  19. EVERYTHING IS NOT FINE!!! WHERE IS THE RAW RANT!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I was waiting for the RAW recap, but I'll just post it here: Last night's segment where Ryback beat up the guy at the lunch table is EXACTLY what should've happened the night after he lost to Cena at Payback. Have Ryback bully some random guy, say something like, "It ain't over between me and John Cena," and then move him into the feud with Jericho where he ends up putting Jericho out for months.
That way you keep your monster heel strong, you can take him out of the WWE title picture for a while (distracted with Jericho, Miz, etc.), and it's OK because he doesn't necessarily have to follow up on the Cena threats. Since he's a bully and bullies often don't back up their talk.
Then when you're in need of a heel to enter the title picture, there's a not-weak Ryback available.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hmmm...so maybe I'm not going to Bound For Glory this year

    ReplyDelete
  22. How can the above post have more down votes than paid for tickets at an Impact! taping?

    ReplyDelete
  23. "I'd buy that for a dollar!"... I watched Robocop tonight and it has inspired me to put in a bid for TNA, well it's either buying Detroit or TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  24. When have you ever offered facts?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Why do an insane amount of downvotes come out any time someone even mentions TNA? I mean, some of these comments weren't even negative or positive-just some random observation or something-and they get downvoted.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Why do people care so much about downvotes?

The scuttlebutt is that it's Elvy, this troll who loves TNA.

  27. Thread jack, again.

In honour of 30 (?) years of WWF magazine, I feel we should decide on the best cover ever.

    I submit the following...

  29. You can still go as long as you don't mind the function room at the Tallahassee Olive Garden.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Everything is fine. Several people who post here say that we have no reason not to believe that TNA is not a healthy, profitable company, and who are we to question their learned opinion?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  32. Fortunately, we are not a court of law, and are thus free to run with all the circumstantial evidence that tells us that TNA is going down.

    ReplyDelete
  33. And why have 12 PPVs when you can have four?

    ReplyDelete
  34. They wouldn't waste HHH on that. They'd have Natalya cut something else for 30 minutes instead.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Exactly.

I remember when a couple years ago there were people saying that WWE should go back to 4 PPV's a year to help make them bigger and better shows. Now that TNA does this, it's automatically assumed it is because of financial woes.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I kinda wish that was real.

  39. Then Mad could countersue for royalties for the earnings of the Irwin R Shyster character that they created years before the debut of IRS.

    ReplyDelete
  40. All the time, remember when he said that not only would Miz be wrestling Undertaker at Wrestlemania, but Lesnar at Summerslam as well?

Oh wait, he was on the preshow of one, and is "hosting" the other.

  46. I thought that was Flair4dagold?

    ReplyDelete
  47. TNA's like Dougie's mom. It's not a matter of if, but when they're going down.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Cancel events/subscriptions

    ????

    Profit!

  50. Where is the NJPW rant? Any NJPW rant?..

    ReplyDelete
  51. I am more interested in the childhood pictures of The Undertaker.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Surely you can't be serious?

    ReplyDelete
  53. And ratings would skyrocket.

    ReplyDelete
  54. That's becajse WWE makes rational business decisions, and TNA changes everything about their company on a whim if they think it'll get over. If they were reading the Raw live thread last night they'd have Aces and Eights playing Smash or Pass with the Knockouts on Thursday.

    ReplyDelete
  55. One time a couple of summers ago I tried to watch an episode of Impact, it looked so post-produced, and the matches had no psychology (just move, move, move--no rhyme or reason), so I never watched again.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Release the downvote hounds.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm more confused with the downvotes those Airplane clips are getting. Does everybody hate that movie or something?

    ReplyDelete
  58. The important thing was that I was wearing an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I may even get the downvote hounds with bees in their mouths.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Release the robotic downvoting Richard Simmons.

    ReplyDelete
  61. These thing are usually alliterative, so I'll go with August To Adjust.

  63. I was gonna get tickets to the Impact show they are planning on having here in Cleveland but I don't want to go through the hassle of getting a refund.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Suppose that TNA announces that next week will be their last episode of Impact. Assuming you could get your hands on any TNA talent past or present that is still alive, what would you book for the final show?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Every time I hear about TNA now, I think of Kevin Bacon screaming "All is well!" while being stampeded in Animal House.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Wrestling matches, probably.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yard sale at the Nashville fair grounds exclusively on Ustream.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Elvy's too busy looking for porn star Twitter accounts.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Even though he reviewed last week's Impact, which just happened to be a taped show.

    ReplyDelete
  74. When TNA made the decision to cut back on the ppv's, a majority of the people here - myself included - said that it was a great idea and something that should have been time a long time ago. Now to do a complete turn and say it was a bad idea is a bit hypocritical.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Why would they not just say that in the email then?

    ReplyDelete
  76. TNA's online shop does seem to be trying to empty out its warehouse now. I just ordered an acoustic guitar autographed by Jeff Jarrett for $60. I checked around online and the guitar itself retails for $100, so the autograph brought down its value 40%.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah, try that shit back in the day with a guy like Harley Race; the headline there would be "Wrestling Fan In Coma."
