WWE Fan Council Surney

Hey Scott,

I am part of the WWE fan council they gets surveys after PPV's and occasionally other events. Most of them are the same and quick, and I've probably done at least a dozen of these things, however the one after the MITB PPV had the following question last: How do you feel about Randy Orton winning the MITB ladder match?

I have never actually seen them asking a specific question about a specific match result before. I think they have heard loud and clear that a lot of fans were unhappy about the result, and wanted to investigate further. What do you think?

Probably just testing the waters for Orton's long-delayed heel turn.  I wouldn't say people were unhappy about it, either.  Pretty much anyone but Christian winning that thing would have been fine.

  1. I think they don't give two shits what the fans want. See wwe 2002-2013 for examples.

  4. I think we confuse "what we want" with "what the fans want" a lot of times. In some markets- NY, Chicago, Philly- fans who share our sensibilities are the majority, but not everywhere.

Even still, they've given us what we want plenty of times. See: the current mega-push for DB, the last two years of CM Punk, Eddie's win over Brock and title reign, Benoit winning the WMXX main event.

That isn't to say the product as a whole hasn't been frustrating, but they've given us "our" guys at the top of the card lots of times.

  5. Yeah, kind of bizarre timing to complain about them not giving us what we want, no? Considering they just handed to us on a silver platter?

  6. Turn him heel!

  7. It's HHH that doesn't give two shits what the fans want

Like 80% of his stuff from 02-05 was ridiculous, and the Brock Lesnar thing only helped him. Same with CM Punk in 2011. Him pinning CM Punk is what really pissed me off

  8. 'Mr. Biscuit,

We've unfortunately had to remove you from our survey groups due to nonsensical answers. Whatever "we want workers" means, it has nothing to do with Sports Entertainment.

    Yours,

  9. Considering that HHH is reportedly the one behind much of the hiring/pushing of guys like Cesaro, Sandow, Shield etcetera and the revamping of developmental, I think he does give two shits about what the fans want.

  10. I meant when it's him wrestling somebody. I didn't mention that and I probably should have

  11. Surney... sounds like a place in Scotland.

  12. Even then, considering the money he's drawn over the years as a wrestler, he's obviously done something right and tapped into what many (maybe a majority) of the fans (and not just those that post on websites like this such as you and me) want.

  13. Pfft, I would've taken Christian over Sheamus and Orton.

  14. huh? As has been stated numerous times, the business started its downward trend with HHH's 02-05 run. He's lucky his run caught the back-end of the incredible runs that Stone Cold and the Rock had. He turned off wrestling fans who have never returned. The revisionist history of his run on top has been very interesting to observe.

  15. What revisionist history? I fully accept that HHH is a lesser draw than Rocky and Stone Cold, and once they left and he was more or less "the man" there was a down period. Still doesn't change the fact that he's one of the bigger overall draws in WWE history. Certainly bigger than Bret, Shawn, Angle, Orton, Edge, etc.
