  1. I can't wait to hear Matt Striker's thoughts on things.

I also enjoy piercing my irises with cactus needles.

  2. I'm going to be marking out when I watch that Striker shoot!

  3. After watching that preview of the Matt Striker shoot interview I really want to watch it now just for the rest of the Chris Benoit story.

  4. To be honest, some of the better shoots are from those who were not as famous.

  5. I'm hoping for a gasoline-covered-bridge-made-of-flammable-kerosene bridge-burning experience. Anything less and it will be a let down.

  6. Those ppv-lite Raws had some awesome matches like a Jericho/HBK Mania rematch.

  7. Lowest drawing card in a long time? No way it does fewer buys than the last few PPVs. The Aldo PPV drew historically bad numbers for a modern UFC show. It's Jones. It won't do great, but I think it'll do fine given the competition.

    Not a bad name.

  9. Dowvote away but without responses or rational rebuttals your basically downvoting because you were wrong.

  10. This. Summerslam had a major event happen on the PPV with viewers turning into Raw for the fallout. SS buyers felt satisfied since they got to see the actual unfolding of events. This feels like the PPV is setting up for the major events of tonight. Assbackwards WWE.

  11. bryan above the wwe title?

bryan on the same level as cena?

    plausible, but highly improbable

    ReplyDelete
  12. Next you'll say Dynamite Kid was an asshole and Kevin Sullivan is short.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I didn't know Striker had a NY accent.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Dude, it's the internet. You're never going to get 100% of people to agree with you. If you feel you have a good point then make it without worrying about downvotes.

And people may not necessarily disagree with your pont - but to be blunt you're not sayinganything new. People have been complaining about the heat being on HHH since SummerSlam.

  15. My point is its funny how people loved the angle but were legit pissed about last night when it completely fits into the narrative of the story. You cant have it both ways.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I second the date rapist vibe. He's always come off as one of those frat guys in college I tried to avoid at bars (usually because a herd of them were trying to beat me up for wearing the wrong color shirt).

    ReplyDelete
  17. What insight can Striker possibly add to anything? They're certainly scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is like the anti-Jease of fantasy booking.

    ReplyDelete
  19. They don't want to risk losing viewers to Nitro.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well what's strange is that so many people complained about how every week ended with Byran getting the crap kicked out of him, and now they're complaining that he won.

So many people assumed that the match would end with Bryan being screwed out of the title, and they can't wrap their head around that it might be going 'off script'. Dunno - they could still do the Dusty finish, but there's nothing wrong with a little unpredictability once in a while.

    ReplyDelete
  21. They can't have the champ in a non-title tag match on *NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS.* it's another case if the best booking plans not fitting with the ppv gimmick of the month.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Screwing these paying customers, even if there aren't many of them, does say to rest of the potential paying customers it's not actually worth buying the show.

    ReplyDelete
  23. How does having the beloved face beat the heel champion at the end screw over the paying fans? You're assuming their is going to be a Dusty finish on RAW, but we don't know that for certain yet.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Theyre complaining, and I think rightfully so, in HOW he won. Fast counts and a probable overturn of the decision typically dont make characters look strong.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeah, if that's the route they take that would be a mess.

    ReplyDelete
  26. you are correct in that respect.

Allow me to rebut though for a second.

I havent watched any of the build-up. I remember for the NoC they billed that every title was on the line, did they say that for this years NoC?

Because if they didnt, it could have been billed as a "all the champions will be in contests" type of deal rather than "all titles on the line" deal.

    A showcase of the champions.

But again, you are correct, they need to stop booking for the gimmick PPV.

But then again I am a proponent of doing away with all PPV names outside of the big four and going with a UFC model.

WWE 145: Orton v. Bryan II for example.

  27. There may be a gas leak in your home.......

    ReplyDelete
  28. Time out.

I am basing that on popular opinion of the blog. I have never said that was my personal assumption.

    ReplyDelete
  29. dont care what anyone else says, i came up with that one myself

    ReplyDelete
  30. hahaha I'll be sure to let Vince know next time we're at the country club.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Dusty Rhodes as the babyface authority figure to counteract the Coporation 2.0 would be pretty awesome; he needs to make "addendum" his catchphrase for no apparent reason if he cuts promos on a regular basis.

"I'd like to make an addendum to that match..."

    ReplyDelete
  32. If they decide to bat the title back and forth for the next couple shows between Orton and Bryan, I'm alright with that. I can see them panicking thinking the audience would lose faith in Bryan if he got screwed last night and lost. Keep in mind that Vince is working AGAINST his instincts here with Bryan, giving him the run despite obviously not wanting to due to his fetish. I'm OK with a little bit of overcorrection in this case.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wha-?? Go back into that naming thread for the Running Knee and I was the first person to suggest it.

I seriously feel like Rodney Dangerfield in this moment.

    ReplyDelete
  34. but i came up with it before knowing you did

    we both win

    ReplyDelete
  35. Exactly. Him not being able to friggin' STAY champion once he's got the damn belt doesn't do him (or his crowd heat) any favors.
