Who gives a shit about Shawn Michaels anymore?

Why the fuck should we give a fuck about Shawn Michaels vs Danial Bryan?

Let's face it. Shawn has become a pathetic joke. He exist SOLELY so Undertaker or anyone who HHH's feuding with, to beat the shit out and in the case of HHH, he's basically a human shield that exists solely so SOMEONE has to get the shit kicked of of them by his opponent, since HHH won't let himself look weak.

He's weak on the mic, has zero character (and hasn't had one in AGES worth a shit) and quite frankly, the idea of him being offered to Danial Bryan as a consolation gift opponent after three months of consistent burial, is a joke.

I'd rather see Bryan get the honor of beating Undertaker (with the added bonus of Undertaker reminding HHH that Undertake has made him his bitch countless years in a row when he publicly tells HHH he won't wrestle HHH again at WM and for him to force HHH to eat shit and let him fight Bryan, who is Undertaker's preferred opponent, with the Undertaker basically BURYING HHH by telling him that HHH is jealous of Bryan because Bryan worked hard to get to the top, whereas HHH had to fuck his way to the top and still the fans fucking hate him and cheered Brock Lenser beating the shit out of him and ruining his big "retirement" moment awhile back).

Bonus points if they stick HHH in the humiliating role of being chained to Kane during the match Jim Cornette style and a situation where HHH his life savings (and Steph's) that Undertaker will beat Bryan and have HHH cry like a bitch over the fact that Bryan did what HHH couldn't do: end the streak. HHH goes away (and we get a couple of filmed vignettes of HHH and Steph living on the streets as homeless scum, with Vince having successfully revoked their parental rights to their kids for extra shits and giggles as far as taking their kids away from them and HHH finding out that everyone remembers him as Rock's bitch boy).

You know what's still awesome?  Superior Spider-Man.  Love me some Dan Slott.

  4. Jesse, you may want to turn off the TV and computer, go outside for awhile, get some fresh air, you know just try to enjoy life. If you do that, you will be probably be a lot more mellow and a lot less batshit insane. Just a suggestion.

  7. Jesse B I'm fucking pissed off too but let's not disparage HBK. He did everything he could (short of a come back match) to get d bry any kind of heat tonight. The only other time hbk even worked heel since wm14 was for hulk hogan. I'd say any rage about db getting flushed down the toilet to a dungeon of doom feud should not be directed at hbk. He did everything he could tonight.

  9. I skimmed this post originally and thought, "That's a really weird response, even for Scott." However on rereading, the moment I hit the word "bitch" I realized what had happened =)

  10. Shawn Michaels 2006-2013 is to Triple H what Zack Ryder 2012 is to John Cena, except Shawn wasn't losing to every heatless midcarder in WWE's gamut.

    ReplyDelete
  11. That is... quite the rant.

  12. Have you been reading what Chris Yost is doing over in Avenging Spidey-Man/Superior Team-Up? It's also some damn good stuff, as is his work on Scarlet Spider.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Did you really just compare the Wyatt family to the DoD? Hating this angle is one thing but let's not start saying crazy things.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah, the Dungeon of Doom had a main eventer in it. It's a big step down (not for Punk, it's actually a step up for him), and it was just a jarring change between the two segments. That was a really bad mistake and probably typical "Creative" misjudging of the audience. If that didn't take you totally out of the show, you must not be human.

"Oh wow, DB is over, and look at this, he's gonna feud with HBK!"
    "Oh wait, guess not."

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jesse Baker crazy-ass nonsensical rant aside, I will say that I agree with some basics of this, which is that I don't think "beating HBK" is any kind of consolation prize here.
I mean, does anyone REALLY want to hate on HBK? Yeah he drew the boos tonight, but long term I have serious reservations about Shawn's ability to stave off the cheers, especially since WWE fans are so conditioned to cheer the legends. So I kinda feel like any Bryan-HBK match would end up being something of a split-reaction RESPECT type deal, which I don't think does Bryan any favors.
Also, as Jesse I think was trying to get at... does HBK really have any major credibility or rub to even give? Yeah he's still HBK and all, but really he's spent the last few years just getting beat up by Lesnar, crying during Taker-HHH matches, and in general being kind of a wuss.

So to me HBK is still this loveable old guy who cries and gets beat up easily, which isn't really someone who can give much of a rub.

Anyway, I guess it's a moot point anyway since I think that bullshit tonight was probably the Bryan-HBK blow-off as Bryan now moves onto his midcard feud.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hey Jesse, why not just have Bryan lay down for Hunter? I think that would be a good idea. Maybe we can get Rock to be the referee. And Brock as the special guest ring announcing ape.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would order a PPV to see Bryan take on a returning Michaels, and I haven't ordered a PPV in nearly two years.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I've always been more of a Martin Jannetty man myself.

    ReplyDelete
  19. If you think Bryan feuding with Shawn will help get Bryan more over you're nuts. Besides, Shawn said he's not doing a comeback match so what would be the point? Secondly, the Wyatt's are the most compelling characters WWE has done in YEARS and I'm perfectly fine with them feuding with Punk and Bryan since he needs to be out of the WWE title picture for now. I guess I'm not human then.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Everyone knows Shawn's not coming out of retirement correct?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Did you not hear the crowd? They heeled HBK and were belittling him. That segment did more for him than everything that happened after Cena put him over, put together.

And I'm pretty sure he'd work a match against the right guy for the right price.

The Wyatts really aren't compelling characters either. One of them is. The other two are stooges. Who will they be working against? The stooges. Brodie can go, the other guy will probably just end up as newz fodder for breaking Punk's nose or something.

I'm telling you, the retards in Creative (see Jericho knowing he'd win that snap poll, them thinking he was nuts, then them having to re-write the show) thought that DB was gonna get some heel heat for that. So they cut the pre-tape to "refocus" him as a face. Since Punk was being booked into the same thing, they couldn't shitcan it. Whoops.

    ReplyDelete
  22. "the retards in Creative"
    Stay classy dude.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love HBK but I am tiring of how they have used him the past few years in Triple H's angles. Shawn as ref in a match where his interests are unknown because of his friendship with Triple H.

That said, I'd love to see Bryan vs. Shawn but I think Shawn stays retired.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, everyone that retires from wrestling by *choice*, stays retired. I think that list contains.... no one. Ever.

  26. It's not unclassy if it's true.

If you can't take that minor criticism maybe it's time to go to the old Wrestlecrap forum or something.

I don't think it's out of the question that they thought Bryan would get heat for attacking HBK.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's still a classless insult. And you really think they would turn Bryan just to have the Wyatt's attack him immediately afterwards? Creative deserves a ton of flack a lot of the time but this isn't one of them. Just MODO.

    ReplyDelete
  28. No, I said they had the Wyatts attack him to show that he was still a face, and it refocuses him on something else. I don't think they thought the reaction they got, was the one they were going to get. The crowd ate that segment up and Michaels got an unbelievable amount of heat. They HATED him. It was a blown opportunity that they couldn't take advantage of because 1) they can't read their audience and 2) they have no flexibility at all.

    ReplyDelete
  29. They could have done it on top of the next PPV. Crowd ate that shit up.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Batista seems to be doing pretty ok for himself so far.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Let me see if I'm understanding this, you think in this case they didn't read their audience despite the fact that they still cheered Bryan in the end and he's still being booked as a face. I'm not trying to be a smartass I promise, I'm just not getting your logic here. And I don't see how Vince would freak out over losing any money either.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Plus Jericho said he's never coming back to WWE. Like six times. Wrestlers never lie.

I don't know if it leads to a match or not, but they often say they won't do a comeback match, until they do that one time (or sometimes more).

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh come on. There's no way they thought he'd get heel heat. The segment was not set up for that. If Shawn had been on his knees begging forgiveness, maybe I could buy that, but the segment was Shawn making a half assed "You attacked my friend so sorry I kicked your ass for it" apology followed by him demanding Bryan shake his hand and accept his half assed apology because he's the best. In what world is that not intended to be a heel promo?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Superior Spider-Man hasn't let up with the awesome one bit since it started. Apparently something very big happens in issue 23. The rumor is that Pete's coming back and Otto is going to be merged with the Venom Symbiote. I know they're probably wanting regular old Pete to come back in time for Amazing Spider-Man 2, but I sure as hell could read another two years of Ock Spidey.

Speaking of Slott, how awesome does his Silver Surfer series with Mike Allred look? Can't wait for that book.

    ReplyDelete
  35. He may end up being the exception but there's still a loooonng way to go. It's hard to think of anyone who was over and in demand that retired and never came back. It just doesn't happen. The only guys who seem to never wrestle again are the ones that can't.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think they thought they would get a much more mixed reaction than they got. I don't think you could anticipate it being that hot and that one-sided.

And like I said I don't believe any able bodied wrestler when they say they're not going to work anymore. Especially when it comes to "special attraction" type things. If he signed on to do this he'd do 4 TVs and a PPV.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Honestly, I've always thought the whole "Grrrrr he ruined his retirement!" thing to be a little over the top. If a guy retires and then comes back full time, yeah, it was kinda bullshit (although this is something that happens legitimately all the time in sports and other things), but if the guy comes back for one match here or there, I don't even consider them to have "come out of retirement", not really. If, for example, I work for a software company for 30 years, retire, and then 2 years later they call me up and ask me to come in for a few days to help work out some bugs, or whatever, did I come out of retirement? Or am I just showing up for a couple days before returning to my retirement? Shawn having one more match isn't really ruining his retirement or anything. And I do know he's said he isn't coming out, but in fairness, most of them say that. It might be true...it also might not.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am looking forward to that Surfer book quite a bit. Anything Allred does is worth reading, and it really seems like it's in Slott's wheelhouse.

    ReplyDelete
  39. He only became a dick because Bryan wouldn't shake his hand. He was "insulted". The crowd wanted to see Bryan kill him from the first second of the promo.

    ReplyDelete
  40. What is it with guys named Jesse and the liberal use of bitch?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Fair enough. I mean you've made your opinion of Creative clear and trust me they deserve most the criticism they get but in this case I think you and other people are grasping at straws. It was clear that Shawn was being a jerk and egging on the crowd to boo him. And I don't know whether a Wyatt family/Punk and Bryan feud will draw money but I'm certainly interested in it just for it being something fresh and new. It may be a "midcard" demotion for them but that doesn't mean they'll stay in the midcard afterwards, and the Wyatt family will get elevated due to working with some top guys. And isn't that the point of mixing new guys with established guys?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I admit it was over the top, and I can't compete with the OP, but it was just a frustrating jump between the two segments. They kind of stumble into something awesome and then stumble right out of it into something that isn't nearly as good. Just seemed like someone should have said "we got something here, can the pretape and let's wait a week." Instead they jump right in.

Granted Punk being involved was better than what it looked like they were teasing originally.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yes. Sad-face for Scarlet Spider getting canned, although I guess he's gonna be in a New Warriors reboot.

Team-Up was AWESOME last week. Although the slightly-wacky dynamic of the Masters of Evil was skewing a little too close to the extremely-wacky dynamic in Superior Foes, which is an even better comic.

I'm actually astonished they've maintained this status quo for a year now without panicking and going back to Parker again. Although the seeds are there, with Ock inadvertently costing Peter his job, his relationship with MJ, his doctorate, his Avengers rep and his good standing with JJJ. Clearly Peter is going to have to come back to a shitty existence when he does return.

  44. Hey Jesse, good to see you again. How's life? How's dating been going, or have you settled down with some lucky lady or guy? Work good? Weather nice? What are your plans this upcoming holiday season?

    ReplyDelete
  45. You're looking at it in a very black and white, Shawn wasn't being a superdick therefore he's being a face" way. The heel promo started the very second Bryan got to the ring. He talked down to him, he did the "you and the crowd wouldn't understand" thing, and at no point did he acknowledge he did anything wrong or even ask forgiveness (he DEMANDED forgiveness). Yes, he acted more heelish as it went on, but that was a heel promo from the beginning that was CLEARLY a heel promo by the end, so I'm not sure why you'd think WWE expected the crowd to cheer Shawn over Bryan for the entire segment when he was doing a heel promo. They might have expected a few more cheers initially but not once Shawn started talking down to Bryan and the crowd while refusing to admit wrongdoing and essentially blaming Bryan.

    ReplyDelete

Still, I'm not particularly pumped at the idea of that main), but I do like that WWE is finally intertwining feuds, if only to set up a Survivor Series match.

Anyway, not the biggest X-Men fan, but movie looks good.

  122. That should be "Du isst". That's right: I just corrected someone's German verb conjugation on a wrestling message board.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Ok, that looks pretty cool.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Something else that came to mind: how much of a pussy does Bryan look like in comparison to what Cena has done the last two days? Cena was hyped as having an insane injury which he came back from wayyy too early, and still OVERCAME THE
ODDS to not only beat Del Rio but then become the first person ever to retain against a surprise MITB cash-in. Meanwhile, Bryan spends the last few months getting beat instantly by anyone's finisher. Pedigree at Summerslam? Instant death. Big Show punch at Battleground? Out cold. Superkick from a scraggly, retiree who had spent the last two years crying over Cell matches? Hurt so bad he needs to be helped out of the arena.

Fuck, in this entire 3-month feud did Bryan even get the kick out of an RKO spot? Nope! This really was an A+ job of defining down a wrestler.

My prediction when the post-mortem of all this happens a year from now, and we go through this whole storyline with Bryan never getting the belt or a revenge win on HHH, the backstage line from HHH will be that "Bryan ended up cooling off too much for him to be at the level we needed him to be at." Which, in reality, will probably be true. I don't see this upcoming feud against the Wyatts being what gets Bryan to any "next level." If anything, I'm betting this leads to a Bryan vs Kane match at Mania, which is comfortably the level Bryan should be at this point.

  126. I am stoked.

After watching the wildly underrated The Wolverine, I realized that if you ignore X-Men 3 and X-Men origins:Wolverine, You actually have some tight storytelling and a fun little 4 movie arc. If this one holds up and ties the good movies together, which I think it can, I'll be very pleased.

I call The Wolverine underrated which some might argue with but I felt it was a very good spiritual successor to the second X-Men film. In addition to that, it kept it simple. You don't need to blow up a whole city to be entertaining. How many people died in Man of Steel or Star Trek 2? Couple of million? And they gloss it over. And this is key. Unlike Iron Man 3, you didn't have an asinine sub plot with a Dickensian scamp. ("Golly, Iron Man. You mean that you need My help? What can I do? I'm only twelve years old."...Utter garbage.)

No. Wolverine goes to Japan. Fights some Yakuza, fights some ninjas, fights a big robot. And the plot makes sense.

It's like Punk. Yeah, he's still over and is still a star. But he'll never be what he could've been after the Pimebomb and Summer of Punk when he was being interview by the Sports Guy and turning into a legit mainstream guy.

It was just about the EXACT same thing with Bryan....attention from sites like ESPN...general interest from the mainstream...and then he got stuck in a dreadful feud with Triple H. Just like Punk!

  139. Yeah. When precisely should it come out?

    ReplyDelete
  140. I changed my mind about Survivor Series, I'm excited to be going again, just to see the crowd completely shit all over the double main event of Cena/ADR and Orton/Show.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I really don't do the negativity over here. Punk and Bryan feuding with the Wyatt's helps to make the fans stop cheering for the Wyatt's and will help to elevate them further. The HHH stuff while annoying makes people want to see him orton and anyone surrounding get what's coming to him. It's not the end of the world that this stuff is happening, it's almost logical story line progression.

For the record, I did hate the ending of the last couple of ppvs, but I'll continue watching because I enjoy wrestling and the product they put out.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Was there mainstream interest in Bryan?
I find it hard to get too worked up about it to be honest. Bryan is fitter, healthier and still over. He will be in main events or close to the main event for his career IMO, and the crowds still love him.

Any attention whether good or bad is considered positive in his mind.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Totally agreee abut the Wyatt's. Lets face it, the Miz was never going to get them over as heels because the fans boo the Miz. Punk and Bryan can only elevate them further and if not, the Wyatt's are pretty much done.

    ReplyDelete
  145. HBK is one of my favorite performers ever, and I LOVED everything about his send off...the great last angle with UT, the 4+ star match itself, his simple but transparent farewll speech, him seeming to have found peace away from the spotlight, yadda yadda yadda. I really never wanted to see him wrestle again...

...until last night. The GREAT full on heel tease, him making Bryan look fucking awesome, the great chemistry between the two. I still put the chance of Shawn wrestling at under 5% but man they made me want to see it last night.

    ReplyDelete
  146. On the negativity:

Wrestling is like your favorite sports team. You love them no matter how bad they get and you are there when they are great. You might bitch up a huge storm about draft picks, personnel moves, coaches, etc. but you still love them. It just kind of blows that WWE is the Jacksonville Jaguars right now. When your team is winning, nothing is better. Same with WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Yeah, though i think working with the Rhodes would have done the same job better. Still, If Punk and Bryan can't get them over, then nothing will!

    ReplyDelete
  150. I mentioned in the live thread Michaels is one of the best heels ever in the company.

    ReplyDelete
  151. "A few sources in the company told Mike Johnson that they believed Bryan got elevated from this program. "

Holy fuck...either I'm entirely out of touch with what the WWE considers to be it's main fan base and source of income, or they are completely clueless with regard to where Daniel Bryan is in the eyes of fans. Maybe both. This report could also be complete BS.

But...think about the logic. DBry gets pinned in 18 seconds at WM. During the rest of the event, there are a few spontaneous chants for him, which I loved. We also get reports of "yes" chants breaking out at an NBA game. He and Kane take their angle and somehow make it work. DBry gets a singles push, and a clean win over Cena.

But...he somehow got elevated by everything that's happened since that pin?

Dafuq? Eat shit and live, whoever might actually believe that. Fuck you. Fuck you very much.

  152. Charismatic e-Negro Jef VinsonOctober 29, 2013 at 9:30 AM

It ends the feud without him getting revenge on HHH. Instead it made HBK the asshole, so Bryan got revenge on HIM instead.
Removed him out of the title picture, got revenge on the man who cost him the title to send the fans home happy.

    ReplyDelete
  153. April works though. The summer is going to be so packed with sci fi and super heroes that it makes sense to go a little early. Early May is going to be Spider Man, Godzilla and late May is the Ninja Turtles, June has Transformers and Jurassic Park and July has X-Men. Plus Guardians of the Galaxy, I think. It's going to be a very packed Summer.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Yes, but with your analogy the people COMTINUE to support their sports team unless they are just bandwagon riders. They BUY merchandise DVDs etc. they PAY to see them perform. They DON'T gloat about not paying, refuse to pay or giggle about how they're stealing money from the pocket of their favorite team. If I offend someone I'm sorry, but the people that do this come off as entitled and spoiled. Not everything will go your way, not everything will make you happy. At the end of the day you still watch and pay because you're a fan. If it comes to the point you don't want to do either you are no longer a fan of the product and it might be time to move on.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Great, so Punk and Bryan have to suffer working with the Wyatts.

    ReplyDelete
  156. What my non-existent son would have learned by watching WWE Programming over the last few months: "If you're an talented underdog, and stand up to bullies, and try very hard, you will not overcome money and power."

    ReplyDelete
  157. That was the first time I've ever seen Daniel Bryan not at all look like he was acting. He legitimately looked like he wanted to injure someone.

I think he just found his next "level".

HBK managed to turn the crowd on him without turning.

If there were a half decent comic book writer on staff, HBK would eventually admit that he did that on purpose so that Bryan could finally achieve everything he's after. Even though what he did at HitC was genuinely out of anger, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Agreed. Heel HBK, heel Rock, and Vince are the pantheon IMO

    ReplyDelete
  159. So, what we've learned is that Bryan being called a B+ and not a legit main eventer by HHH was a shoot and not "heel authority figure" HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  160. No way! They have bacon that is a circle (you're fat you must like pork products) universal healthcare, poutine, and Tim Horton's... if you don't love Canada you can get oooht!

  161. There are numerous websites dedicated to streaming sporting events. There are also numerous websites who sell counterfeit NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA gear. The one game I went to this year I had free tickets to. More people are streaming cable. You can be a huge sports fan and not give the company a dime.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Not sure if the feud is ended yet. Could still be a HHH/Bryan match in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Exactly. And frankly, I think what happened last night is pretty much Bryan "getting his revenge" on HBK. My bet is the way it plays out is that next time we see HBK he's mad at HHH for leaving him out there to take that beating. HBK isn't turning heel long term, so therefore there's no Bryan feud/match. Instead it'll probably be Face HBK (with Daniel Bryan in his corner!) vs HHH, if HBK ever wrestles again.

Meanwhile I'm guessing Bryan long term program into Mania is against the Wyatts, with it eventually spinning out into a PPV match against Kane.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Eesh. I hope not. I'd like to have Heyman come back as an Ally to Punk if they interact at all. Punk's character doesn't seem the type to hold grudges once he's had some closure.

Heyman screwed Punk over and though it took a while, he finally got a beat down for it. Punk can go do some other things and later Heyman can come to him with Dangerous Alliance 2014 or whatever and if Punk sees a WM main event in his future because of it, he'd do it because of "family" and "blood is thicker than water" and we was "feuding but that's what families do." etc.

    ReplyDelete
  165. which...to be fair...isn't a bad lesson to learn early.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Untrue. You don't pay for fox,abc cbs or most sports channels. You only pay for packages or for convenience like watching on ps3. Bootleggers and people buying bootlegged merchandise get arrested all the time. You aren't paying for cable JUST to watch the witchita
Wickets. They make their money off advertising as does the wwe. However, 13 million or so watch sports and most pay for the product in some form (Games DVDs tickets etc) so it's not a problem or as muh of one. However, when your fanbase is significantly less things like that affect you more. Bryan could win the title tomorrow beat triple h into handicapped status and murder Stephanie McMahon in the middle of the ring, and the next day there would be people complaining that Bryan wasn't dominant enough or that he didn't strip Stephanie before removing her head. If your that bad off and cannot stand the product to that much of a degree maybe yo weren't really a fan after all.

    ReplyDelete
  171. So that makes TNA the Tampa Bay Bucs?
Wait, no. The Bucs could still beat the Jags.

TNA is the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. With a not-so-literal case of MRSA in creative.

    ReplyDelete
  172. The fact that WWE thought Bryan came out elevated from this program pretty much tells us all we need to know about Daniel Bryan's future as a big star. Basically, in WWE's view he was a low midcarder before this and now he's an upper midcarder. The idea of actually putting the title on him and running with him as a true TOP GUY was never in teh cards, and isn't in teh cards going forward.

I really don't think there's any chance he's getting the big Mania title win or even HHH match. In WWE's view, they've "made him" at that Jericho/RVD level of consistently over upper-midcard guy who can pop the crowd in an opener. SO I guess good on them for that.

CM Punk in an alternate timeline? Fuck that... bring him over to 616 WWE and feud with the Wyatts for a couple of months.

Bret's a main eventer but he needs something to do.

  188. Gawd, it's times like this when it sucks extra hard not having a viable #2 wrestling promotion. How amazing would it be if there was actual competency and money at TNA right now? Like, let's go with the dream scenario in which Shane buys the company and puts JR in charge of talent. Don't you think there'd at least be the chance that Bryan and Punk could defect over? Hell, Punk would be able to keep his name AND theme music, while Daniel Bryan goes back to Bryan Danielson which is as simple of a name switch as it gets. And he would get to keep his theme music too, minus the remix. AND the Yes chants!

Dream scenario I know, but a completely re-booted "TNA" (let's go with IWF: Impact Wrestling Federation) featuring Danielson, Punk, and Aries/Hardy/Styles/Joe/Bully/Roode/Storm/Magnus could easily kick some ass.
Again, not gonna happen, but dare to dream I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  191. WWE views Bryan as nothing more then an upper midcard main event level place holder. Just like Punk, Foley, Kane (98ish), and Big Show. Hell only get main event level promotion or be the focus of Raw if hes working with one of the "made men" of wwe, HHH, Cena, Taker, etc. Hes been "sacrificed" to HHH so the eventual HHH vs Cena feud will mean more, in WWEs mind. Just like how Foley was sacrificed to Rock in their first feud to build up Rock for his eventual money feud gor Austin. The fact wwe thinks Bryan was elevated by the last few months tells us everything we need to know on how they felt about him, and still feel about him. It sucks but the reality is that its Cenas and HHHs world from here till Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  192. Charismatic e-Negro Jef VinsonOctober 29, 2013 at 10:01 AM

"The HHH stuff while annoying makes people want to see him orton and anyone surrounding get what's coming to him."
And there is the problem: HHH is the center of the feud and is put in such a position that he CAN'T get what's coming to him (unless it's from Vince McMahon) It's the McMahon/Helmsley dynasty all over again.

    ReplyDelete
  193. Honestly we should have known, no matter what, Bryan is still small and unconventional...even though both HHH & Vince like him, this is the best their diseased little brains can allow themselves to give him. He got to beat Cena and headline a run of PPVs, and to someone who doesn't give them a boner like the usual mold they prefer, this is probably in their minds the best gift they can give him. The only way he can break past this barrier is if he was less a decent guy like Jericho, Foley, and RVD, and more a devious egomaniac like Shawn was back when he ascended to the top. THAT'S how Shawn stayed over. Wrestling is run by idiots, megalomaniacs, and liars...you gotta beat 'em at their own game.
