Chris Hero Issues a Statement Regarding his WWE Release

"Maybe you've heard. Maybe you've not heard. Last Friday my contract with WWE was terminated. Man... Terminated sounds so harsh, right? To me, it conjures up images of post-apocalyptic wars with robots, machine guns and atomic bombs. No thank you. Merriam-Webster defines terminate as 'to come to an end in time.' Okay.. That's a little less dramatic. I can handle that. For the last 21 months, I've lived in Florida as a part of WWE's Developmental System. That time has now come to an end.

There are a lot of ways I can look at this and, honestly, it won't serve me at all to be anything BUT positive and optimistic. I could sulk. I could point fingers. I could feel sorry for myself. Or, I could channel all my energy into getting back out there, kicking some ass and taking things to the next level. Once upon a time, a close friend of mine named Claudio Castagnoli was released from WWE. Another good friend, Colt Cabana, got his walking papers. The 'Best in the World' Bryan Danielson had his contract 'terminated'. TWICE. These three guys are all CRAZY talented and, on all accounts, are doing rather well for themselves right now, eh? I'm leaving WWE on good terms so, if it's meant to be, I'm sure I will be back. If it's not meant to be, I can guarantee you that I will still be trotting all over the globe doing what I love (and what I'm damn good at) at the highest level possible.

How will my career unfold? There's no telling at this moment and that can be scary. I can assure you, though, that I am genuinely excited to take things into my hands and get back out there. There are sights I've not seen in the last two years, friends I've not spent time with and fans I've not performed in front of. How long has it been since a #HipHopThursday? There are people I'm dying to work with! I have ideas that are practically begging to surface; I say let's get to it!

The response I've gotten from all of this hullabaloo has literally overwhelmed me. So much so that I'm just now getting back to some people two, three days after they had reached out. It's important to me that I let you all know how much this has meant to me. Whether it was a tweet, an e-mail, facebook message, text, call or voicemail, your support means the world to me. It would have been incredibly easy to go to a dark place and succumb to negative thoughts and energy. Your love has kept my spirits high and, again I reiterate, I am absolutely thrilled to get back in the mix.

...I do have a favor I'd like to ask of you. When things happen that we don't like, it's our instinct look for answers. We get sad. We get mad. In this situation, there's nothing to be sad about! And rather than being angry about what has happened, I want you all to be happy about what's going to happen! I'll be back with a vengeance, I assure you. The best way to support me is with positive energy. Also, WWE and NXT loaded with talented guys and girls. There's an overabundance of talent at that Performance Center that inspires ME, some of which you've not even seen yet. Those folks need your support just like I do so make sure your voices are heard.

To wrap this up, I'd like everyone to know that I loved my experience here. I've made so many great friends. I have memories that will last a lifetime. I've learned so much; not just about professional wrestling but I've discovered a lot about myself. I've gained a lot of new fans and I hope that you will all follow me on this new journey. If you wish to support me directly, there are a plethora of ways to do so: you can continue to follow and interact with me on Twitter and Facebook, you can come watch me do what I love to do LIVE and in livin' color, you can pick up some brand new Chris Hero merchandise in person or online. Speaking of which, thechrishero.com will be sorted out soon with all new @ChrisHeroMerch *and* I am pleased to announce that I will have additional t-shirts available courtesy of @OneHourTees (

http://www.prowrestlingtees.com/chrishero).

Whether it's in Philly, Oberhausen Germany, Los Angeles, Austin Texas, London, Tokyo, Chicago or Toronto, you will see me and I will see YOU. Soon, my friends. Thank you for your support.

    Ten facts about Survivor Series:
#1. Chris Hero has never appeared at a Survivor Series.

    ReplyDelete
  2. With WWE doing a country-themed show next Monday, does anyone else think Mickie James may show up? Maybe she and the Real Double J can sing a duet of "With My Baby Tonight."

    ReplyDelete
  3. "The 'Best in the World' Bryan Danielson had his contract
    'terminated'. TWICE."

Is this a rib, or a gimmick Bryan had that I don't know about, or does this guy pay that little attention that he got Punk and Bryan's gimmicks mixed up?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Your_Favourite_LoserNovember 12, 2013 at 9:50 AM

my thought exactly, that she might return next week. her appearance at the training center only adds horsey sauce to the roast beef

    ReplyDelete
  5. He used that line in the indies. It made the feud over that line between Punk and Jericho kind of funny.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm guessing he just thinks Daniel Bryan is currently the best?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Would love to see Mickie return with her "crazy stalker" persona instead of "hardcore country" and attack AJ. Crazy chick AJ vs crazy chick Mickie would probably be pretty awesome, actually.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Heh, I had never made the last-name connection between Mickie James and Jesse James.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I want Mickie to get rehired JUST for this feud alone.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Bryan was fired from developmental back in 2001 when they were using Memphis as a territory then again when he was on NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I knew all 10 of those 10 things I'm not supposed to know.
They could do worse than have Mickie James as a full time trainer.
Chris Hero just said a whole lot of nothing, so I'm assuming he's in the wrong and is deflecting attention.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I meant the best in the world portion, but thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I mean, I know it's unlikely since you know Mickie has committed the crime of turning "not 29" and doesn't have the ability of up-and-coming star Eva Marie, but hot damn this would be a great feud. Mickie in her stalker run was getting tons of heat (her's was probably the second most heated match on the show at Mania 22), and her vs AJ is just such a natural rivalry. They could totally get a great long term feud out of these crazy bitches trying to out crazy one another, and the actual matches would be good too.

  14. With the payoff being a6 hour lesbian sex tape released

    ReplyDelete
  15. Beat me to it...

    ReplyDelete
  16. In other news, John Cena had an "accident" in Saskatoon. I wonder if Scott knows the place where Cena got food poisoning.

  17. Worst "10 Things You Didn't Know" list ever. More like 10 things you could easily look up on Wikipedia about the Survivor Series. Also, any Survivor Series list that doesn't include the Gobeldy Gooker is an instant fail.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Damn women and their foreplay and multiple orgasms. I fast forward through all that crap. Just gimme the wham bam thank you ma'am.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Classy statement by Hero. Makes me root for him a little more

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bryan used that as his tagline on the indy circuit. It used to get chants in ROH. It's a great tag line, so I stole it and had it imprinted on my personal checks... then Punk stole it and brought it to the big stage, but never got those chants going.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Chris Hero certainly handled that a lot better than I would have. I heard of him for the first time last week, but I still wish him the best.

No comment on Mickie James, but I wouldn't mind playing around in the performance center. Why didn't they have all this stuff when I was coming up?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I felt terrible upvoting this...for about 5 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why are wrestling sex tapes always so awful? Hogan? Chyna? Why can't it ever be "AJ and Lita caught on film doing lines of blow off Brooke's ass before descending into a marathon orgy"? Come on people ONE TIME

    ReplyDelete
  24. John Cena: I remember when I put MY horsey sauce on Mickie's...

    [PLEASE STAND BY]

Jesus - first Big Show steals D-Bry's Yes chant and now THIS?!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Why? Do you really need me to answer that question?

    ReplyDelete
  26. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/rhetorical?s=t

    ReplyDelete
  27. Even better, the "blink and you missed it performance" by Mike Knox in 2009 actually happened in 2006.

You'd think they would actually fact check some of these articles.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why WERE the SMW titles being used on a WWE show?

    ReplyDelete
  29. WWE just announced that the big match at Survivor Series coming out of last night's awesome red-hot 6-on-6 closing segment will be... Punk & Bryan vs Harper & Rowan.

    Ho.Ly. SHIT.

I mean, they really don't want ANY buys on this PPV, do they? Oh well. Part of me hopes they just stick with that, as the 6-on-6 elimination match would have been the only thing to make me feel conflicted about not ordering the show.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Whenever I hear about a 'guest trainer'all I can think about is when they had the WWE guys come on to Tough Enough and just constantly tell the contestants about how seriously they need to be taking everything.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jesus Christ. Way to fucking cut the legs out from under a hot end to a program. I'm not surprised, but it just seems stupid. Vince should have killed the SurSer name a couple years back.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 1991 was a good one, too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow, fuck Nikki Bella.

And poor Nattie, that's such a Jim Neidhart thing to do.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'll tell you one muscle that has had no shortage of exercise in Christopher Hero: His heart.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Something to do with getting Cornette to come in, I'd assume.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I just feel so bad when I see guys shilling merch like that. Buying a Chris Hero t shirt? No thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lance Storm has visited the Performance center a few times as a guest trainer and described it on his web site. It sounds like he does actually work with them in the ring and on ring psychology.

    http://www.stormwrestling.com/031213.html

And for all we know, the guest trainers on Tough Enough did that too, but it was cut out from what aired on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  38. A guy's gotta make a living. Nobody gets rich wrestling the indy circuit.

    ReplyDelete
  39. They probably needed it as most of them were a bunch of fame seeking doucehbags

    ReplyDelete
  40. Possible, but if he is serious about wanting another shot at WWE, then going to TNA would probably be just about the worst thing he could do.

And for a top-notch indy star like he is, I'm not convinced he'd make significantly more money in TNA than he would on the indy circuit.

    ReplyDelete
  41. This would have been you...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIqeXSYc8nE

    ReplyDelete
  42. Mickie may not want to be a full time trainer for whatever reasons. I believe they offered Lance Storm a position as a full time trainer, but he wanted to stay with his family in Calgary - but he occasionally still goes down to NXT to work as a guest trainer.

    ReplyDelete
  43. So when the buyrate for this show tanks, we'll never see Big Show near the main event again, right? That's what they do in that situation, supposedly.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Layla is in her late 30's?!?!?! She must have some miracle drugs

    ReplyDelete
  45. TNA should really go back to letting their guys go on Indy shows that don't have a TV contract.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That sucks. Hopefully they switch it like they did last year after they initially set up tgag God awful 5-5 with Mick Foley.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Deadly Games was cool. Most of the others do blow

    ReplyDelete
  48. Since we are talking Survivor Series, it's been a year since the debut of The Shield. Thoughts on their first year?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Next Monday is the go home show though, right? It seemed like last night was the kind of angle they would do in order TO change the match to a 6x6.

Man, the booking for Survivor Series is so bizarre. The 6x6 elimination would have at least been unique enough to feel like a draw. This straight up tag match though, what's the point? I mean, Bray is the main villain of the group and he wouldn't even be in the match! They're really trying to out-shitty themselves with this card.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Good point. Thought they had 2 weeks left until ppv.

It seems that WWE is just mailing it in at this point with it. They know Orton/Show is marginal so throwing in the towel with the rest of it

    ReplyDelete
  51. Why didn't he get rid of Survivor Series anyway? It's not like the show has been a huge draw since 1999 and it's not like the company has been faithful to the concept in recent years so why even have it?
Just put it out of its misery and put Hell In A Cell in its place and make the October PPV Halloween Havoc and they will definitely get more buys for both PPVs instead of just hanging on to a dead horse that hasn't been relevant since the "Who ran over Stone Cold?" angle began.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm hoping that they announced that match so they can change it to a 6 on 6 come Monday, because wow. I was really looking forward to a 6 on 6 and thought it could even be the main event of the PPV with Orton/Show and Cena/Del Rio not exactly setting the world on fire, but a boring old straight up tag match? Come on.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Pretty sure it's still Punk and Bryan's fault.

    ReplyDelete
  54. You know what's amazing about the Shield? They're a group of rookies who have somehow MADE a bunch of other guys.

The weekly tag matches over the spring/summer is really what turned Bryan from loveable comedy tag-guy into a legit main event (or, B+) threat. Before the Shield matches, fans really liked Bryan. It wasn't until that feud though, that people were going apeshit for him all the time.

Also gotta give them credit for getting Orton back on track, since those tags and 6-mans were the first time Randy felt relevant in fucking forever.

And of course, they somehow turned Cody Rhodes (who seemed more buried than Ziggler or Wade Barret on their jobbiest days) and Goldust (not even on the roster in years!) into big deals. I mean, those tag matches at Battleground and Raw (the title change) made the Rhodes Bros.

So yeah, forget the fact that they themselves got over so quickly. They've also already made more opponents in their first year than a lot of veterans on the roster have in their whole careers.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I fully advocate this. I bet they think there's some name recognition in it though.

    ReplyDelete
  56. WWE doing a country-themed show....didn't they always make fun of WCW for targeting rednecks? Pot, kettle, meet black.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Lol punk and Bryan vs the two fat guys who aren't bray Wyatt at survivor series. Nice to see those two guys getting rewarded by getting a ppv match that could curtain jerk any episode of smackdown

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah, I guess they figure it's not even worth giving away the Punk/Bray confrontation yet on a PPV that's gonna bomb anyway. But then again, wouldn't a 6x6 elimination match be the best way to do that? They'd be able to have Bray pin Punk in a way that sets up a singles match at the next PPV.

The other thing is, you just know there's no way Show/Orton last just one PPV. Orton is either gonna cheat to win or there's a schmozz finish, setting up the epic TABLES MATCH at TLC. And we're probably getting some sort of Cena/ADR/Sandow match at TLC too. So basically, the December PPV is gonna bomb too with lame rematches. So yeah, why not at least try to pop some interest with the unique elimination tag match here? Very odd.

    ReplyDelete
  59. It'd actually be two good workers in a Diva's match. And that simply isn't allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  60. For the life of me, I don't get why out of all the WCW ideas to bring back, they bring back Bash At The Beach when Halloween Havoc is right there for the taking.
It's like they don't even realize that Bash At The Beach was WCW's ripoff of Summerslam whereas Halloween Havoc is at least an original idea because WWE has never had a Halloween themed PPV before.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Forget whether Punk or Bryan deserve to get rewarded or not. What did the fans do to deserve this? That closing segment actually had tons of heat, the Shield/Wyatts pairing would have lots of interest, why WOULDN'T they want to do that? Plus the 6x6 match could at least eat an hour of their otherwise shitty PPV.

Maybe Orton/Show are doing a 60-min time limit draw to set up the rematch at TLC?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hey listen, I'm all for it. Mickie would be a GREAT addition to the division.

Layla though might just be the exception for them when it comes to age. Goddamn, she's still ridiculously hot.

    ReplyDelete
  63. They'll toss on one or two makeshift ss matches at the ppv with no build to eat some time.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Damn that bastard, advertising his products! People should just know it's available without being told.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Your_Favourite_LoserNovember 12, 2013 at 1:26 PM

'stalker mickie' vs trish is one of the best angles they've done in recent times, with a great little match (wrestlemania, no less) to boot

too bad wwe edited the vaginal claw/finger lickin' good spot out

    ReplyDelete
  66. Your_Favourite_LoserNovember 12, 2013 at 1:27 PM

remember how much face heat mickie was actually getting during her feud with trish? i could legit see aj vs mickie somehow turning both of them face (assuming mickie came in as stalker girl)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Your_Favourite_LoserNovember 12, 2013 at 1:28 PM

dont you mean it took you 5 seconds to feel good?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Your_Favourite_LoserNovember 12, 2013 at 1:28 PM

i'll one up you: the lines were moving targets, as brooke was twerking at the time

    ReplyDelete
  69. If the Punk/Bryan tag match sticks as is, I guess we also get...
    - Corporate Elimination Match!: Rhodes Bros & Usos vs Shield & Kane
    - Divas Elimination Match! AJ & Tamina & Aksana & Alicia Fox vs Natalya & Bellas & Cameron
    - Random Elimination Match! Big E & Ziggler & Kofi & R-Truth & Miz vs Ryback & Curtis Axel & Sandow & Real Americans

    Something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  70. The whole thing where they approach the ring from the crowd and the "victim" just stands there and waits for them still bugs me, though they don't really seem to do that particular schtick anymore.

I do recall an instance where they tried to jump Ziggler and he managed to evade and get away clean. That was nice, but he *still* just waited while they s l o w l y walked to the ring.

On the plus side, they have certainly contributed to entertaining matches. I am in favor of this.

    ReplyDelete
  71. PWG rearranged their cards for All Star Weekend so that Hero could challenge Adam Cole for the title. That should be pretty good. Also the Dragon Gate match on Sunday is Johnny Gargano, who is awesome. That should be a helluva match too.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Great. Those of us who avoid that fucking Divas show like the plague still get to hear about Cena pooping himself. Lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Shhhhh if you say that out loud Triple H will finally find an excuse for "all the people he put over".

    ReplyDelete
  74. Push has been a bit wishy washy but holy shit have they had a lot of good matches.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Knuckleberry is clearly a SOCIALIST THAT WANTS AMERICA TO FAIL

    /gop

    ReplyDelete
  76. When did they bring back Bash at the Beach? Wasn't it Great American Bash they brought back?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Bischoff is perfectly fine as an authority figure (since we have to have plenty of those) if he is kept out of creative he is useful.

    ReplyDelete

  82. There's some that I stream, to be perfectly honest. For the most part, I'm limiting myself to ordering 3 a year(Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Money in the Bank) unless there's a show with a pretty good looking card, like Elimination Chamber and Summerslam for this year. If there's one match I really wanna see but the rest is looking bleh, I'll stream it. If not, I can pass and not feel bad about it.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Maybe some of us could chip in and book Chris hero for the survivor series live thread?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Can anyone break a $5?

    ReplyDelete
  88. You always hear about how hard it is to fill all their TV time, and then they slap together some random match on a ppv. How hard would it have been to give big e and Ambrose the tiniest little angle on smackdown or main event?

    ReplyDelete
  89. I can't believe nobody has figured me out yet. Gotta think past gimmicks as well, fellas.....

    ReplyDelete
  90. For anyone who cares: Spoke to Bully Ray this morning about the upcoming TNA show on Long Island. Not much huge news coming out of the interview, it was mostly promotional.

I asked him about his goals, and he mentioned the continued growth of TNA, which gave me the perfect opportunity to ask about the rumors about the Carters selling the promotion. He said he couldn't speak for anyone else, but for him, it wouldn't bother him if TNA was sold, because it's all a part of business.

He noted that the promotion has had some "growing pains" but that it has "a tremendous light at the end of the tunnel." He also said he believes that TNA is in no threat of going under. Take that for what you will.

Not really including any of that in the article, because it's a little too inside baseball for a general newspaper story, but figured you guys would enjoy it.

Sorry Parallax - he had no comment on Brooke's ass.

The story will be posted online on Thursday. I'll send a link to Scott and hopefully he'll deign me worthy of a plug.

    ReplyDelete
  91. One great thing he did with that bully character was really put his finger on the pulse of pop culture. The initial, pre face turn to fight aces n 8's, bully heel character was brilliant and totally was ahead of the curve on the next cause du jour

    ReplyDelete
  92. WTF!

Wait did you actually ask him?

    ReplyDelete
  93. Way beyond what I expected. They've been the most protected heels in the company, and the most protected guys to debut in forever. And theve main evented at least 85% of the free TV shows since then. We used to wonder when they would call up moxley and if he'd be a jobber. Never in a million years did I think he'd be a-top guy off the bat and get thiskind of push. Same with Rollins. And reigns has been a pleasant surprise.

The wwe has give these guys the best push their shitty creative team could muster and they've hit home run after home run.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Week 10 in the NFL-Proof On Any Given Sunday........

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hero vs. Cole should be awesome

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hell, I think they should have Punk & Bryan leading a new Nexus-style thing, where they start a grassroots movement against the HHH corporate regime. Pick some of the most promising NXT prospects (Zayn?) and you've got an instant infusion of fresh talent on the roster getting a rub from Punk/Bryan. Survivor Series would have been good for that.

    ReplyDelete
  97. No no no. I say let him post away. They can learn how NOT to run their business.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Presumably you could figure out if the wrestlers did too by checking locations against WWE travel schedule and hometowns. Probably way more work than it's worth though.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thread jack: the great ed reed was cut by the Houston Texans today. Hard to complain about guys who hold out for a new contract when a decorated vet like that gets dumped mid season. NFL contracts aren't worth the paper I'm about to wipe my ass with.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Wasn't five moves of doom even in teh more recent video games? I'd say it's transcended Scott's blog.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Look, I didn't want to say anything, but okay. I'll come clean.

    I'm Little Jimmy.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Was Chen banned? What's the story? Or is there a thread I can go relive? I wondered what happened to him.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I look at it as a positive for him. He'll catch on with a contending team for a stretch run I think. Maybe with Bellichick in NE?

    ReplyDelete
  104. He actually came off as kind of terse until the end, and I felt like if I asked a question like that, he would hang up on me. That would have just left me with a huge hole this week. I backed off.

    ReplyDelete
  105. It's an A+ expression.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Yes. During and shortly after Wrestlemania he kept coming on here deliberately antagonizing people for complaining about the product etc... and would blatantly point out how he was doing it just to fuck with people so Scott himself banned him for his shenanigans. Basically he was being NPP right here on the BoD.

    ReplyDelete
  107. You put the good of your career over what would be entertaining to me?

:: Has you job to Magoonie because it is best for business ::

    ReplyDelete
  108. Please, I would've jobbed to Magoonie anyway. Maybe later I'll email the PR flak who set it up and see if he can ask Bully about Brooke...

    ReplyDelete
  109. Bully could have a great run in WWE right now, just so many great match-ups for him on the face side. I mean, if they ever signed Bully and actually pushed him out of the gate by having him run out of the crowd and destroy Cena there'd be fucking main event heat right there. Such a perfect feud, with the superhero boy scout against the ultimate loud mouth asshole.

Bully against Punk and Bryan would also be great, and he could probably even get someone like Dolph over as fuck if they went that way.

  110. Seriously. It's so weird that they've moved into this era where they seem obsessed with talking about themselves as an entertainment show rather than a wrestling show, but they just never do goofy midcard angles anymore. What's the harm in giving Big E and Dean something fun to kickstart a feud? Like, for instance... Big E's deal is he's sort of a bodybuilder gym rat, right? So do a deal for a few weeks where Big E has built this travelling gym in the backstage area, sort of like the APA's old "office." Then one week Shield trashes the gym, Dean beats up Langston with a barbell, something like that. Just ANYTHING.

Survivor Series killed the careers of both The Miz and R-Truth?

I'd be happier WITH the dollar.

  117. I would like to point out that WWE's usual penchant for false advertising continues, as in fact I DID know all those things about Survivor Series.

  118. I'm a Liverpool fan so obviously my statement was a huge exaggeration... had a feeling it would wind up some people. Though it is true that Manchester is predominantly in favour of Man City.

  123. In the late 90's I remember reading it was Howard Finkel's job to check the internet and see what was being said on these types of sites. Also for old school Keith fans, did you know WWE had CBS affiliate Wrestleline shut down.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I just had this idea for an angle where Big E wants to be the US Champion, so he challenges Ambrose and they have a match.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Huh, that spurred me to look up Samuda and if he was ever convicted. Verdict? Not guilty

  126. Luke Harper can work.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Glad to hear it, his was my first favourite wrestling website.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Agreed. I thought it was going to be some cool stat thing (e.g. how many men have been eliminated with a clothesline at the Survivor Series?). They can't even get their own history right, as the Richfield Coliseum hosted Survivor Series 1992 and not 1991.

    ReplyDelete
  129. That could work. They could run an angle where Bully refuses to do the "BE A STAR" ads.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I'm surprised they didn't bring Tough Enough back after the most recent season on USA. Steve Austin was great in it, but I guess the ratings were poor. They didn't help their cause by having the winner sell a slap from Vince like they just took a beatdown from Mark Henry.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I think you mean the Great American Bash, but yeah, I would favor them bringing back Halloween Havoc. I always thought that was the coolest sounding WCW pay-per-view and loved the sets that they used for it. For a product that caters to kids now, you would think they'd love to do something like that.

They should use some of the other WCW names for their other pay-per-views too. Why not use SuperBrawl or Slamboree? Bash at the Beach is also there for July!

    ReplyDelete
  132. I hate 1991, which pains me because I love 1991 WWF. It just devolved into a "pay for This Tuesday in Texas if you want to see REAL matches!"

    ReplyDelete
  133. It was part of Jim Cornette's working agreement with the WWF. The match between the Express and Heavenly Bodies was pretty good, but it was in Boston so the crowd was dead.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Its too bad Curt Hennig isn't alive. The West Texas Rednecks could make an appearance and sing "Rap is Crap."
