Important Q on Punk and Bryan

>
> Why did Curtis Hughes always have a job for a major company in the 90s? I don't get his appeal, as it seems there were plenty of other guys who were better than him whom could fit his desired role. Whether it was bodyguard (Nash, Sid), big man (Vader, Kamala), or tough black guy (Ron Simmons, Butch Reed, Michael Hayes). So do you have any idea who he knew and what he witnessed to always be employed?

I don't know how you can call Nash or Sid better workers than Hughes with a straight face. Hughes was fine for a big man. And he had friends.

  2. Agreed with what Scott said about Nash or Sid, plus it would probably not be cost-effective to use Vader in any of the roles that Hughes had. I thought he was pretty cool as a sort of black Big Bubba. Also they couldn't get enough big dudes back then.

  3. Curtis Hughes definitely had a great look. I first saw him as a kid when he came to the WWF in 1993 and thought that he was very scary mofo.

  4. His match against Perfect at KOTR 93 was awkward. It's like Perfect couldn't do anything with him, so as a mark, I thought "Damn, that guy is gonna be tough to beat, most moves don't work on him".

  5. Who are you to deny the Big Cat?

Mr. Hughes was a good bodyguard. Big and tough but didn't over shadow the main talent

  6. I love sid. Always was a big fan but he was awful in the ring. His first match with Shawn where he won the belt was great but otherwise that dude wasn't exactly blowing people away. But man oh man did he have "it" factor to spare.

  7. I laughed at the emailers Michael Hayes joke though

  8. Agreed. Look at some of his squash matches from the early nineties. He's a beast.

  9. In hindsight, Babyface Perfect didn't really have much of a move set. He didn't really have much of a pop the crowd offence. He had his drop kick, neck snap and finisher. That was about it so I could see how he would have trouble with big dudes.

He was better off as a heel, where he could bounce around for the good guy.
