  1. BUT ZOMG TURN HIM HEEEEEEEEEEL

    ReplyDelete
  2. They should get the belt back on cena. That's a nice #

    ReplyDelete
  3. I gotta say this about Cena. I saw that WWE Network documentary on him and my jaw dropped when I saw him sign like 3,000 autographs in just over an hour. Watching that and all his other obligations in that documentary made me realize that Punk wouldn't last a day on top.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I hate all wrestling fans. Why dont the internet fans get this yet?

I wouldnt sign autographs, but I'd bring in lots of money in Pampers and Gerber endorsements.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I know the Cena heel turn isn't going to happen as long as he's selling so much merch. So the question is, how long does that last? Do his merch sales and general babyface popularity eventually die down before he is physically shot and unable to go any longer?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yes. That would be what entertains me. I don't watch this for what will make them money, or what other people will enjoy. I understand the reasoning, but I have a right to want something else and voice my opinion about it, as does everyone with this (and any other) position.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Cop out answer but he'll sign merchandise as long as the machine is behind him and they deem him as "the guy"

    ReplyDelete
  8. "I have the right to be wrong!"

    ReplyDelete
  9. Man your stupidity knows no bounds

    ReplyDelete
  10. Keep on using your right to the fullest!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Love the Avatar

    ReplyDelete
  12. Does it bother you to be as useless to society as you are?

    ReplyDelete
  13. You guys want Cena to turn heel? WELL I'M AFRAID I'VE GOT SOME BAAADDD NEEEWWSSS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Why would it? I'm trying to bring society down, one wrong wrestling fan at a time.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yea. That's my favorite part of the gimmick. The joked are bad but the avatar kills me

    ReplyDelete
  16. The Conventional heel turn isn't happening because he already is a heel to half the audience. The WWE can use him as a de facto heel whenever they need him to put someone over (see Punk in 2011 and Bryan in 2013) and still position him as the top face at exactly the same time. It might just be the smartest thing the WWE have done since Bret's heel in the US, face everywhere else routine.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I guess we can't see him over the pile of money he's making.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I personally prefer cena to most of the roster. Hopefully he wraps up this will feud he's doing now and gets back into the big angles.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It was a legit question. I mean you aren't even able to contribute anything here on a wrestling blog, this clearly means you can't contribute in the outside world... that doesn't bother you at all? You are comfortable consuming resources that could go to someone far more deserving?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Wrestling blog = real life? Interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  21. At least you don't try and pretend it isn't you. That is the only thing keeping it from being annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Most of the time I don't mind him. He has put on some great matches, and can cut a decent promo at times... but he has really been bothering me lately... mostly because he doesn't react to things the way a real person would and because even when it doesn't make sense... #CENAWINSLOL

    ReplyDelete
  23. Did you read what I said? He can't contribute on a wrestling blog, therefore he can't contribute in real life... am I not explaining myself well enough?

    ReplyDelete
  24. He's an obvious corporate character at this point. That is why he reacts the way he does.

    ReplyDelete
  25. WTF happened to Splash City? I'm just getting off work so haven't seen highlights yet but it looks like it was a massacre

    ReplyDelete
  26. ... So... Wrestling blog = real life?? Interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's an interesting dynamic in the Wyatt feud? You'd think that eventually the half of the crowd that hated Cena for being the corporate avatar is gonna start cheering Bray. I haven't watched Raw yet but in Andys review, it seems like its already starting

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow your reading comprehension is really poor.

I'm telling you all right now, all the kids will still be wearing Cena swastika wrist bands when he turns heel.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Stranger in the AlpsApril 22, 2014 at 7:51 AM

    Not soon enough.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Meaning, if one is mentally unable to contribute something of substance to something as small as a wrestling blog, than we fear how little they'd do with something out there in the real world.

I'm starting to fear the same from you.

    ReplyDelete
  32. When klay Thompson got his 3rd foul in the 1st quarter the entire team quit. They already had their split but that was still brutal.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thank you. I may need to hire you as a spokesperson.

    ReplyDelete
  34. But what about 5 year from now? 10 years from now if he's able to stay in good shape until then? Eventually his schtick is likely to fall flat even with kids. Or maybe that doesn't happen until he already old enough to be a perma-babyface legend figure.

    ReplyDelete
  35. aaaand this is why he'll never turn heel until he's in his 40s like Hogan.

    ReplyDelete
  36. the WWE doesn't seem to care about this AT ALL.

    ReplyDelete
  37. It's really not. In 2006 the idiotic ECW fans were yelling 'YOU CAN'T WRESTLE' at Cena. Anti-Cena heat peaked then. And he's arguably a better wrestler now, so he's set for six to ten years.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Considering how stubborn they were with the Bryan/Batista stuff, I'm not surprised.

In this case, it's in their best interest to ignore it. They aernt changing Cenas character at this point and Brays ascending to the top.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Cena is a great wrestler. Just wish his character wasn't stale.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Stupid kids,stop buying Cena's merchandise!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Punk was working a similar schedule to Cena before he left. It wasn't exactly the same (Punk wasn't filming any movies or TV episodes, but would rep WWE at conventions, etc.), but it included those ridiculous number of autograph signings, and Make-A-Wish appearances.

The difference of course is Punk burned out on that schedule after 2-3 years and Cena has been going strong for almost a decade.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Vince Jordan didn't appreciate having to work with BigNasty96

    ReplyDelete
  43. He didn't appreciate having to read BoD RAW because he couldn't understand it...

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ha. You are in rare form today

    ReplyDelete
  45. I was going to comment on how weird it is when you see a fully grown adult male dressed in Cena merch (especially if it's the whole ensemble-hat, shirt, jhorts (!), the whole kit and kaboodle), but I think what's scarier is how many times I've seen overweight women with bad makeup wearing Rey Mysterio shirts.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Trying to set an example for the BoD youngsters

  48. "This man feeds our family" - Vince

Yea folks, Cena is still that much more popular than D Bry, 5xs the ammount as the second guy?? Crazy, and Bryan had like 3 new shirts in a month.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The kids are their target audience bro, sad but true. Its just Older men like us tend to hoot and holler more at events and more audibly.

    ReplyDelete
  50. It probably sounds disingenuous but I honestly think some of the kids here could use a bit of someone not being an asshole to them... it may be an unusual format but this could be like their equivalent of the Boys & Girls club or some shit...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Sadly Cena was the guy that made me a fan,I wish I never got SVR 08 in my birthday.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Whenever I see a full grown adult in Cena merch without a kid, I crinch.

Someone in the other thread nailed it: Midwest bumble fucks

    ReplyDelete
  53. IDK what it is, but I really dont care for Wyatt at all. Also the only heat he gets lately is because he has a cool song, no one was singing with him nor reacting to him much during the match last night. Also Besides his win against Bryan his character has been made to look like a doofus, he was made to look like a doofus when Bryan roused him and arent Cult leaders supposed to be great at recruiting more and more people to join them?? He still has the same two homely cronies he came in with. by now he should at least have a few jobbers at least under his wings, go all out make the family a big faction. For christs sakes the oddoites had like 5xs the members in the attitude era.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Whenever I see a grown man in Cena garb, they tend to be, ummmmmmm, challenged.

    ReplyDelete
  55. 9 years running strong of selling merch like crazy and with those numbers that we just saw it doesnt look like this cash cow is slowing anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I try to be cordial as possible

    ReplyDelete
  57. If they really do want to push reigns to the moon, it will be the first time they've brought a guy up and given him a giant push since Cena.
Maybe then Cena can do some different shit.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Punk is also a real big prick in real life, have heard nothing but bad things about him when fans approach him. A ton of those Virgil bag emails deadspin did had proof to back this up.

    ReplyDelete
  59. he's above the belt at this point, and doesnt need it.

    ReplyDelete
  60. You could tell some people that they don't need to comment on every post with "yea" when the post wasn't even directed to them. You can also do this for people who only state the obvious.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I agree. I try to be as friendly and cordial as possible myself but sometimes disagreements break out.

    ReplyDelete
  62. He is also huge into backstage politics according to may wrestlers. He was referred to as the "HHH of RoH' towards the end of his run there

    ReplyDelete
  63. I can't make that claim... but I just find a couple of them seem like they might really be lacking in friends/self esteem etc... and could use some mentoring... I think they have even been reaching out for it in their own unique way.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Curious to know how much tangible money Cena has made for WWE compared to Rock and Austin.

    ReplyDelete
  65. That's called "NWOBTEAM-ITIS". too many people = faction watered down. I'm glad they're still just the core 3. No weaknesses in the group.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I saw you do that last night. Its a good thing

    ReplyDelete
  67. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7huydkPGfP8

    ReplyDelete
  68. He has had a longer run than them and with more outlets to make money.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I don't blame them for milking it dry. Once his numbers drop, then turn him heel. Then he can be more character driven, and he'll get nuclear heat even if he can't have 5 star matches anymore, just like Hogan.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I have no idea what you are talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  71. That's a good point. I highly doubt he's sold more than the two at a given point in time but his staying power is amazing.

BTW who's in the 2 through 5 spots?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Meltzer didnt say today. in the observer several weeks back he had it all out.

    ReplyDelete
  73. There were a few seemingly-normal grown men in Cena gear at the Brooklyn Raw last month. I was thrown off guard as I bought my vintage Hulkamania T-shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  74. This. I told this story here awhile ago but I watched extreme rules at a place and there were 3 mentally challenged adult wrestling fans there...All in Cena gear from head to toe

    ReplyDelete
  75. This is my exact perspective and I hate it when someone says they'd like to see something happen and someone else says they are stupid because it will never happen. Who the fuck cares if it will never happen! We are talking about an entertainment product on the internet, not giving a dissertation!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Sounds more to me like "If someone is below average at video games, then he clearly does not have the skillz to function in the real world". It's kind of dumb to judge someone's real life abilities based on his smark board posting. Not that complicated.

    ReplyDelete
  77. . Also the only heat he gets lately is because he has a cool song>>
I learned that song in Vacation Bible School when I was six. Nothing that happens in a church is "cool".
Which is sorta related to my problem with the Wyatts. They want to do a religion/cult angle, but they don't have the balls to come right out and call it that because they're afraid it will offend religious people. They did the same thing with The Straight Edge Society and even Brother Love. He was obviously supposed to be a tv preacher, but instead of talking about "God" he was all about "love" to cover the WWF's asses. It seems cheap and corny to me.
If they really wanted to do it right, they'd have Bray claim he was the one true Messiah and have wrestlers, fans.. etc actually kneeling down and praying to him.
