I've seen a couple of DVD sets for an outfit called Southwestern Championship Wrestling. They were on USA in the early 80's. Anyone ever seen this company? Are they worth checking out, even from a trainwreck POV?
Unless, I'm mistaken, this is an old Jim Crockett Promotions footage tape. They had quite a few of those back in the day. And yes, that's Bret "Really This is Barry Horowitz" Hart. It's basically 1983 stuff.
It was run by Joe Blanchard, father of Tully. The stuff involving Tully and Gino Hernandez as the original Dynamic Duo is supposed to be great. But it's also an early '80s Texas territory. If you've seen anything from World Class, you'll know how bad it can get.
I remember renting this tape from a local Network Video store circa 1988.... but then again, I was pretty obsessive about renting VHS wrestling tapes from when I discovered the "sport" in 86 until I drifted away in 91.... then I had another massive rental run once I became a fan again in 1997...
