"This is the only newsworthy item from today."

    LIES

"WWE has started work on a new Randy Savage documentary for a DVD release."

    also:

"There has been talk that this summer's edition of the CBS show Big Brother will feature past competitors teaming with a family member. Frank Eudy was a contestant on season 14 of the show, and word is that he and his father, professional wrestler Psycho Sid, may be part of this season."

and we all need to know what matt morgan thinks:

"I'd prefer to pay MORE $ each month if that meant no advertising in 2015 for #WWENetwork. To me, Old Stuff& original shows/docs r worth it!"

    good question

here's a recent article with regards to athletics programs

  8. Saw somewhere that said HHH's spinebuster was the best there ever was.

    I weep for this generation.

I'm not reading an article from that lying dirt sheet.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Meltzer's sources indicate that Triple H doesn't know who Kenta or Devitt are.

    ReplyDelete
  15. DAMN you must wanted to have to job to some random 20 post count jobber at BoD RAW next week.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I quickly glanced at the headline and saw "Triple H's NXT Takeover" and assumed they had an angle where he single handedly pinned the entire NXT roster at once because HHH.

    #SmarkLife

    ReplyDelete
  17. HHH already burying Devitt and KENTA...yikes

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'd say nxt has been more of a flop than a success. Big E, Rusev, Rose, etc busts

    ReplyDelete
  19. I took it as him just having fun with Meltzer as Meltzer almost immediately got a little flustered and started explaining who those guys were (even though HHH was the guy who signed/negotiated with them).

    ReplyDelete
  20. Counter with Shield, Wyatts as successes.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah but wasn't it called something else when Ambrose was in it?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Shield and Cesaro were products of FCW, really

    ReplyDelete
  23. They all were there when it turned into NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  24. That's a different era of the program

    ReplyDelete
  25. The difference between FCW and NXT isn't much.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Fair enough so when they work they aren't really NXT'ers. I get it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yeah it was more fcw. Since the nxt change over its been pretty so so

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hhh completely oversees nxt

    ReplyDelete
  29. About 90 miles down Interstate 4

    ReplyDelete
  30. Which is why you are so quick to call it a flop.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If think Big E is a flop because of NXT then you're doing it wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anthony RatcliffeMay 28, 2014 at 1:21 PM

Hey, don't forget--there's one more potential crown jewel down there awaiting callup, one that could outshine most of his colleagues--if not all. Ole!

    ReplyDelete
  33. EVERYTHING YOU SAY IS WRONG! BECAUSE... SHUT UP!

    ReplyDelete
  34. They are fucking him over big time in WWE. They stripped away his personality

    ReplyDelete
  35. That Slamboree Battlebowl is the absolute drizzling shits!

I had completely forgotten about it and considering these were the 8 guys in the thing, who can blame me? DDP,Barbarian,Ice Train,Scott Norton,Dick Slater,Robert Eaton & Public Enemy.

Winner gets a world title shot. Until Nitro when they throw the whole thing out because...WCW!

    ReplyDelete
  36. My Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling:

Gorgeous George - The first true star of pro wrestling and lead the way for wrestling on television.

Hulk Hogan - Led the WWF to national prominence.

Lou Thesz - great wrestler, top draw. First successful shoot fighter. thesz was a shoote fighter before shoot fighting was cool.

Andre The Giant - the biggest attraction in wrestling. He could write his own ticket and work anywhere he wanted to. So in demand as a wrestler and a larger than life character. Best big man

    ReplyDelete
  37. You're right, Big E, Adam Rose, Rusev, Brad Maddox, aksana, Alicia fox, brodus clay, Curtis Axel, Alicia fox and Eva maria are all doing really awesome

    ReplyDelete
  38. FCW was a few rings in a warehouse and NXT is a full blown performance center with all sorts oftechnology and medical personnel and a TV show with its own specials. A totatlly different system

    ReplyDelete
  39. You seem to have no rhyme or reason to which NXT you are talking about. The TV show or the actual brand.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Which is why I don't understand why those guys aren't strictly Main Event/Smackdown guys for now where they can have time and space to display who they are and work the crowds. The way RAW is structured it's just tough for new guys to get over immediately without being stuck in a big program. There's very little room for progression.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Seriously though win column from the non-competition era of NXT: Shield, Wyatt's, Cesaro, Lana

Loss Column: Big E, Rusev, Rose, Emma

    TBD: Paige, Bo Dallas

    ReplyDelete
  42. He's gonna big big star. Definitely agree. But he's a cm punk, Daniel Bryan, type blue chip prospect. But they still have done a great job with him

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'd put Big E and Emma in the TBD column. They are talented enough to overcome WWE's bullshit.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Good point. Yoshi tatsu is having an awesome career!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm not sure why I even engage in a debate with you. Completely pointless.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Possibly. I guess Maddox and Axel need to go in the flop category as well.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I wonder what the internet name generator for NXT style internet handles would produce.....

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yeah but it's still just a developmental territory.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bo Dallas is already 0 for 1 though

    ReplyDelete
  50. I know it was almost like there was another big blonde dude who came along at the exact same time who stole his angle/heat/woman.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I don't think Emma has it though... I don't even really think she is that fuckable so she doesn't have that bullet in the gun.

    ReplyDelete
  52. What is the criteria for calling someone a flop?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Being neither entertaining nor successful at getting over

    ReplyDelete
  54. Maddox is a good promo and Axel is really entertaining with Ryback.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Vince McMahon, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Steve Austin.

    ReplyDelete
  56. He is a directionless midcarder with no heat. I agree it's not HIS fault, but it shows that program is far from perfect when they bring guys up

    ReplyDelete
  57. Fox was already a regular before the letters NXT ever appeared on WWE tv. She only worked at NXT for extra practice (and most would say that it's helping). And if you include Brodus and Axel, you're going to have to include Bryan and Barrett.

The 2012 class (Shield and Wyatts) seemed to have hit nothing but home runs. The 2013-14 class (Rose, Rusev, etc) appear to be striking out, but it's too early to say. It is interesting to think about and consider some potential flaws in the system when thinking about the recent call-ups.

    ReplyDelete
  58. You're 0 for 18450 but we don't hold that against you.

    ReplyDelete
  59. You aren't debating him. You just said "You seem to have no rhyme or reason to which NXT you are talking about. The TV show or the actual brand." how is that a debate question?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Did anyone say it was perfect? People are just disagreeing with you that the brand is a complete flop.

    ReplyDelete
  61. TJ: FIRST A* CARD IN TEW2013~!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm debating whether or not NXT is a flop.

    ReplyDelete
  63. "Axel is really entertaining with Ryback."

    wut

    ReplyDelete
  64. If you're basing NXT on anything other than how guys work when coming from there, you are doing it wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  65. So basically if you're a super talented blue chip prospect like Jon moxley or Tyler black, or a guy with the right family connections like Wyatt or Reigns nxt is great.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Rybaxel is a fun team.

    ReplyDelete
  67. To be fair Husky Harris was a bubble guy til he stumbled on this character.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Being dead weight on the roster like Curtis Axel and ryback

    ReplyDelete
  69. So is 3MB but they're not going anywhere, either.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It led to a long DDP vs. Guerrero feud which was criminally shorted for promo time.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Good point about Axel and ryback below champ

    ReplyDelete
  72. Not everyone is a main eventer. People have roles, 3MB does what is asked of them.

    ReplyDelete
  73. And his dad works for the wwe as an agent

    ReplyDelete
  74. What does that have to do with anything?

    ReplyDelete
  75. NXT isn't the problem though, it's the WWE bringing up NXT guys to the main roster like everyone who watches the WWE follows NXT. NXT is lucky to get half the viewers that Impact gets.

  77. To illustrate how futile it is to argue in favor of Rybaxel. I agree that they're entertaining but they're not over or successful.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Nevermind RAW, he has Archie Stackhouse this Sunday at BoD Payback!

    ReplyDelete
  79. What was my point about Rybaxel?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Oh is that what I said. Because I think I can look up four inches on my screen and see its been more of a flop than a success. I never called it a complete flop, but thanks for trying to argue with me about it.

    ReplyDelete
  81. You can file Xavier Woods as a loss too

    ReplyDelete
  82. World needs midcarders too. Just because a guy ain't a top guy doesn't make him a flop.

    ReplyDelete
  83. This is an incorrect statement.

    ReplyDelete
  84. He was a bit entertaining in TNA

    ReplyDelete
  85. I'm not about to debate anything with a shit poster like you

    ReplyDelete
  86. Easy enough to answer:

    Hogan, Austin, Rock Flair

Varying arguments could be made for guys like Shawn, Undertaker, Bret, Bruno, etc. but those guys are basically the standard.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Isn't Hogan more hated than practically the rest of those guys combined?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Steroids, somas, booze, child support orders.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  91. Doubt it. In his prime Benoit was basically wrestling Jesus to the IWC.

    ReplyDelete
  92. You would be......

    Blake Hollister

    ReplyDelete
  93. Its funny how many people jumped to defend not nxt, but the use of the guys when they get to the big stage. The wwe is terrible right now and most of that has to do with bad roster depth and no mid card, yet I guess these nxt guys are setting the world on fire when they get to the wwe.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Yup. She has a dorky gimmick, stupid (though admittedly catchy) music, stupid move names, is not much better in the ring than any other diva, and isn't worth jerking it to... that is a sure fire recipe for success.

    ReplyDelete
  95. And died just as quickly, it appears. It's almost like Cult and Jobber had to get some arguing out of their system.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I think people just like disagreeing with you... or in Cult's case everyone ever.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Well at least I learned that rybaxel is good

    ReplyDelete

  107. I know. This guy crushed me. I'm just so tired of dealing with him. He seems to just troll my posts and pick some douchey fight with me every week. I can't have a real argument with a poster like that. Why bother. Guy has some personal problem with a stranger over the internet. Enough with the freaks and weirdos always trolling me lol. Theres like 60 other people that post here every day. Maybe he could rotate

    ReplyDelete
  108. Also, indy darlings will always have a big leg up on guys like Big E and Rusev regardless of NXT just because of their built in fanbase and how loyal indy fans are.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Your_Favourite_Buck_NastyMay 28, 2014 at 1:51 PM

ambrose was never in nxt, he was in fcw

a lot of guys pulled double duty, but ambrose wasn't one of them

    ReplyDelete
  110. You trolled him, not the other way around.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think you constantly confuse me with someone else. I've disagreed with you twice on here that i can remember.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I picture you as fat and worthless

    ReplyDelete
  113. They have a title match at BoD Payback this Sunday. It is natural for that to occur.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Do you not read Vince Jordan's posts? Just because he doesn't get Rock/Austin pops doesn't mean he sucks and isn't over because that is totally what you said.

    ReplyDelete
  115. CruelConnectionNumber2May 28, 2014 at 1:53 PM

I think LANA is the problem with Rusev. She's a cartoon 80's gimmick that leads to him never having heat. He needs to be with Heyman as a killer.

    ReplyDelete
  116. It also helps if you're not a dime a dozen big stiff like Rusev or Big E.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I agree she is part of the problem... but because she is far more charismatic and talented than he is.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Big E isn't a generic stiff.

    ReplyDelete
  119. She's too damn hot, that's the problem.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Yeah a smoking hot valet like that is a bad idea. He should have some Russian dude in a suit or heyman. That would have helped

    ReplyDelete
  121. Yup. She is the star in that pairing. Rusev is the latest generic foreign heel monster

    ReplyDelete
  122. Nobody cares about shitty-ass, put people to sleep shoot wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  123. To be clear, I like the show nxt. I just think to act like the wwe is doing a great job launching these guys to the next level is totally false. Hhh is mostly fucking that part up and that's the whole point of the program right?

    ReplyDelete
  124. They need to sound out Putin, not sure he'd sell though.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Why? Because he once tweeted a Simpsons quote? Is that really enough to get people behind him? I haven't seen him do much of note since he came up. His best role was playing Curtis Hughes to zigglers luger/Jericho etc

    ReplyDelete
  126. Rusev had some of the highest potential on EWR. Can't get them all right.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Its like sticking sunny with candido in 95. Who is gonna give a shit about that wrestler

    ReplyDelete
  128. Go watch his match with match with Ambrose. He is pretty good for how little experience he has.

    ReplyDelete
  129. His 5 count stuff on NXT was decent.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Alright I'll give it a shot. Whats it from?

    ReplyDelete
  131. Test and Albert with Trish, they had no chance.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I never saw him on nxt but my whole point is the wwe/hhh isn't doing a good job of translating what worked for a guy in nxt to the wwe. And then they just blame the talent

    ReplyDelete
  133. The only guy that ever really worked for is Savage

    ReplyDelete
  134. Adam Rose is awesome. The problem is every fan in America who sees him live is too negative to appreciate his talents

    ReplyDelete
  135. I would argue yes. The nWo change the business, there's no doubt. It made them more money than they ever have.

There's not many wrestlers that can claim to be have been the biggest face ever and the biggest heel ever.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Hell in a Cell 2013 I think.

    ReplyDelete
  137. I agree. Big E had more chance of getting over with his NXT gimmick but they changed him to generic strong guy.

Emma needed her NXT gimmick tweaking to get over and they kept it exactly the same.

    ReplyDelete
  138. They are actually putting money into NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Stranger in the AlpsMay 28, 2014 at 2:05 PM

Fuck this thread. "This guys a flop". "No he's not". "yes he is". "No, he's not". "Well, this guy is." "he's not either". "yes he is". "No he's not". "Well, who's a flop then?" "this guy". "no he's not".
And yes, that is an accurate protrayal.

this thread wasn't a flop, needs more time

    ReplyDelete
  150. I'll sign off on that. Especially that Road Warrior one she had

    ReplyDelete
  151. This is a good one. I think Gorgeous George HAS to have the George Washington spot.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Stranger in the AlpsMay 28, 2014 at 2:11 PM

Not really. Just coming out of the shell a little.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Big E made his debut over a year ago.he flopped as the IC champ and looks to be fodder for Rusev. Doesn't look to promising for him.

    ReplyDelete
  154. In my opinion raw right now is almost unbearable to watch. A huge reason for that is a terrible mid card and has roster depth. Nxt call ups not getting over/sucking on raw is the biggest reason why I think. Thanks hhh, great job!

    ReplyDelete
  155. Crikey Mate Down Under AussieMay 28, 2014 at 2:12 PM

Good read, HHH handles stuff like that pretty well and you feel more confident for the future of NXT and people like Zayn and Neville and teams like The Ascension because HHH and Vince are actually invested in giving them the best platform possible to trade rosters on.

    ReplyDelete
  156. She could have been fine. But they paired her with Santino. Kiss of death right there.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Big E is kwame brown

    ReplyDelete
  158. Gorgeous George - The "George Washington

Andre - Just don't think you can not give him a spot

Those two are easy. The problem is the last two. I'm going to rule out Austin and Rock because their careers were too short. I think you have to give it to Hogan and Flair. Both had heavy influence for over two decades and both were major attractions for different reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  159. That was how they should have brought him up. Why they didn't is beyond me

    ReplyDelete
  160. He has the potential to be more than a generic stiff. He is right now, however, a generic stiff.

    ReplyDelete
  161. And damn dude, that's why people hate wrestling fans. And I really can't blame them.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I'll take a guess:

Midnight Express, Road Warriors, The Steiners, and the Dudley Boys.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Crikey Mate Down Under AussieMay 28, 2014 at 2:15 PM

Without the 50/50 booking of the last few years, people like Henry, Miz, Kingston, Sandow, Rhodes, Swagger, and, dare I say it, Khali, would be providing legitimacy for NXT guys by putting the next generation over. Instead all the debut wins feel meaningless, who cares that Rusev beat up R-Truth? The mid-card should have been booked stronger from the start.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Meh to me that is just a perfect synopsis of the internet in general. Go spend 5 minutes on reddit and you will get the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Oh that's coming

    ReplyDelete
  166. He went back to that gimmick a couple of weeks ago on NXT against Bo Dallas and instantly seemed a million times more interesting and motivated.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Crikey Mate Down Under AussieMay 28, 2014 at 2:17 PM

Genuinely my first thought, dominant authority angle was going to overlap into NXT :S

    ReplyDelete
  168. I agree its 99.9999% the terrible booking. Which is why I don't get the praise for hhh on this at all

    ReplyDelete
  169. Isn't that still Vince's call though.

    ReplyDelete
  170. R-Truth and Xavier Woods will starting dropping hints about a third man.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Who's call was it to book Emma like that, or give rose such a lame and lazy debut, or pair Rusev with a hottie, its that and the 50-50 booking.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Crikey Mate Down Under AussieMay 28, 2014 at 2:20 PM

Fair enough, I feel that HHH is giving them enough opportunity as talent, ie guaranteeing if you work hard enough you'll make it to TV eventually, but the writers are cutting their legs off with terrible story lines. But yeah HHH may be receiving too much credit.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I think it is creative doing a shot job with their debuts too. If they actually were creative, they could make Rose a midcard act people could enjoy but instead they are cranking out garbage like the never ending Cena/ Wyatt storyline
