Tomohiro Ishii Does It Again

Did somebody say Japanese Pro Wrestling?

From earlier today, this just wrapped up. Show was main evented by a great AJ Styles/Kazuchika Okada rematch for the title. But in a continuing trend, the match that most people will be talking about is the Tomohiro Ishii match, defending the NEVER Openweight Championship against Kota Ibsuhi. Really brutal stuff further solidifying Ishii as the go-to guy for great matches, and perhaps lengthening his lead for 2014 Wrestler of the Year.

Comments

  1. Love Ishii this past year. Poor guy is probably cutting years off his life to put on ****1/2+ matches repeatedly.

  2. He deserves the IWGP title.

  3. No love for Ibushi? He regularly has 4 1/2 - 5 star matches.

  4. Funny thing about NJPW,last month I was pissed in some of it's booking, now they're slowly showing their plans,I'm excited.

  5. Ibushi is top 5 in the World right now. Guy is so smooth.

  6. NJPW just needs to get rid of the Gracies.

  7. I may be the only one wondering, but who is Dock Muraco

  8. Tony Schivaone should commentate NJPW. Because apparently, every single match is the new "greatest match in the history of wrestling".

  9. Joey Styles and JR at NJPW,we can have a double OH MY GAWD.

  10. Hes never drawn a dime in his life, dont worry about h-*shot*

  11. Ishii is the guy that got me into Japanese wrestling - not only are all his matches incredible (seriously he's great against heels and faces because of that brutal style), there is just something likable about him that most people in wrestling don't have. Dude is a TANK. Thanks for the post Muraco-san.

  12. He has the nice guy giant vibe.

  13. The match against Shibata was the first one i saw and i was hooked. The match against Tanahanshi where he hit him with the STEINER SCREWDRIVER was insane and made me a fan for life.

  14. The fact that he was held in the undercard for so long and now is having his moment of glory makes him even more likable.

Here's the Tanahanshi match. The last 90 seconds is just ridiculous.

  16. HE MAY HAVE BEEN BROKEN IN HALF!

  17. I'd actually agree with him there.

  18. Those crazy flips.

  19. Whoooooo are you? Who who who who?

    ReplyDelete
  20. He kind of reminds me of Samoa Joe in his prime a bit. Hard-hitting fat dude who can move.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I really wanna know!

    ReplyDelete
  22. According to the bio, Dock is possibly a female.

  23. Guys, is All-Japan pretty much dead? I never hear of it anymore. And what about NOAH?

    ReplyDelete
  24. He's been awesome the last couple years & imo, his feud with Naito is Feud of the Year so far!

  25. Bad.....ass....match. Totally sweet. I enjoy a match where guys are going all out stiffing the shit outta each other....BUT......it completely defies the point of wrestling. It's only supposed to look that nasty, not actually be a slobber knocker.
    Still, no complaints. Badass man.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The Gracies...they need to go. I always get a bit angry when I see them on the card because they're so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That's actually pretty funny.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ishii is a bad, bad man.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Like others have said, Ishii is the guy I watch for on NJPW shows. Does anyone else feel a tad bit guilty liking his matches, though? Dude is just killing himself, and his opponents.
