Blu-Ray exclusives to be announced.

I really like this set as there's a lot of rare stuff instead of all the usual stuff you would expect on a set like this.

Thoughts/omissions?

Comments

  1. With all of the WCW PPVs and Clash of the Champions on the Network, they really loaded up on the free TV Sting matches. Smart move, I'll definitely be purchasing this one.

  2. The pre Crow stuff is meh and that's all I'm interested in. Disappointed. Also sucks that WWE history has mandated that pre crow Sting doesn't matter.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I like this a lot better than if it were all PPV and Clash matches (especially since those are all on the network, unlike episodes of "NWA Pro Wrestling")

    ReplyDelete
  4. agreed this is the smart way of doing things by loading it up with tv that won't be on the network for years probably.

    ReplyDelete
  5. It's like a Sting Matches Booster Pack.

The DVD is like 85% pre Crow Sting, what are you talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm curious about future sets. This is smart because A. oh...you want to watch sing on PPV well we have this network for you.
    B. Hey you have the network...buy this DVD and get all these other sting matches.

    ReplyDelete
  8. It's more like 60/40. And I'm talking about quality. Outside of GAB 90, all the big pre crow Sting matches are missing.

now *this* is a great set

    ReplyDelete
  10. I feel like this is A LOT of stuff that we haven't seen before and is also not on the network. Good job WWE.

i'd imagine they're readily available elswhere

this set is fantastic, you're just being overly picking

    ReplyDelete
  12. This actually sounds great. Maybe they'll show us what happens on Nitro after Tony Schiavone yells "We're outta time!"

    ReplyDelete
  13. Enjoy Sting vs Zeb Coulter.

go watch the big stuff on the network.

    i love seeing random one-offs.

  15. Sting vs 1992 DDP! A must have for any DVD!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I can't wait for this. Sting was my first favorite wrestler as a kid, and I've remained a big fan to this day.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Definitely buying the Heyman DVD but doubt I will be buying this one.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm definitely getting this, and I do like all the rare stuff that's been added (the Sting/Muta tile change from Sept. '89 I remember being awesome), but there's a lot of big matches on other sets that I kinda wish were on here still, like Sting/Luger vs. The Steiners from Superbrawl I, or Sting/Vader grom GAB '92. Oh well, will still be great to have. If the awesome Sting/Cactus Jack brawl from Worldwide where Sting splashes him in a Rubbermaid garbage bin I'ma be pissed...I loved that match.

  19. TJ: Rock did an AMA on reddit today and it was awful. Answered no wrestling questions.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Didn't you hear? He's too big for wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  21. They released a whole shitload of UWF stuff on the best of mid-south DVD.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It should also mean less overlap of stuff. I'm not gonna lie, I wouldn't have minded if they put on sting/Vader from Superbrawl III.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Must be too big for everything because he barely answered anything. He even no sold Arnold Schwarzenegger showing up.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'll more likely enjoy Sting vs Stan Lane, Sting vs Muta, Sting vs Flair, Sting vs Arn, Sting vs Austin, all in matches not on the network.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sting and Ric Fliar had like a 40 minute classic in the summer of 1993 for the nwa title when they were both babyfaces on WCW Saturday night. I'd like to see that match again.. This is why I should have the job of picking out extras for DVDs.

    ReplyDelete
  26. There's another one I would have wanted...I guess with the Network now they think rare TV matches are only worth it, and they def. are, but I like collections of big PPV matches as well.

    ReplyDelete
  27. That is an extra on Foley's blu ray, I think. I mean it's definitely on there.

    ReplyDelete
  28. To be fair, the match they have listed from January before the Clash is pretty damn rare and influential (since yknow, it set up the Clash) and not many know about it. There are other ones missing though that really should be on here.

    ReplyDelete
  29. DAMN YOU BLU RAY!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I hope so. The Warrior set had some more rarities on it too.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm not complaining. I think it's a great set. I just would have added that one instead of the Sting/Flair title change from 1990 (which is already on two releases and the network).

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah it's on there. I'm not sure if its exclusive to the Blu-Ray or not.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Umm.. No Eddie Gilbert matches?? Seems like a glaring omission to me.

Man, even grumpy Harrison Ford put some effort into his, even threw Star Wars fans a bone for once with a drop of " I know".

It should have the Triple Cage match from Ready to Rumble where he makes the save for Jimmy King, but otherwise, jam-up job.

    just like el dandy!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Shame not an official documentary but still damn good, nice to see him FINALLY getting respect on a WWE release.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Some new japan material that people will actually care about!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Are we looking at the same set here? Where are the GOOD matches? I understand we want some "rare" matches, but not to overlook his BEST stuff (and I know, I know - most of it is on other DVDs but still)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Can't believe they had the testes to put Starrcade 97 on there. Guess there's a reason the set isn't called "Best of Sting".

    ReplyDelete
  41. At least DDP won't call him "STING SCUM!"

    ReplyDelete
  42. Time to buy a refurbished Blu-ray player, dude. I got my Sony for $40 from eBay.
