Batista Not Returning to the WWE?

Those close to Batista say that he feels let down and unhappy over the way he was booked in his return to the WWE and may stay away from wrestling in order to do more movies. One source cites that if Batista does return to the WWE, it would be for WrestleMania 31. Batista has also been reported to have expressed interest in a retirement match against HHH but there has now word from the WWE if that is something they plan on doing.

  1. Meh on those timelines

    ReplyDelete
  2. I've heard enough from New Jack.

    ReplyDelete
  3. He's usually good for a few hilarious lines, but he's approaching Cornette levels of "how many times can they pay him to tell the same stories?"

    ReplyDelete
  4. Batista can't blame WWE for the crowd hating him because he's not Daniel Bryan. Unless WWE were to implant his brain into Daniel Bryan's body, there was not much they could do.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'd be interested in the '81 Martel timeline. His shoot a few years ago was enjoyable.

    ReplyDelete
  6. It's a missed opportunity if the wwe didn't bring Tony Schivone in to do a network insert declaring today "the greatest day in the history of our sport!" with Nitro debuting on the network and all.

    ReplyDelete
  7. New Jack has surprisingly good insight on wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  8. He can blame them for not having the foresight to see it happen

    ReplyDelete
  9. The way they used him his first show back was pathetic. Batista himself said in interviews that it made little sense.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Just watched Nitro 91, which clocks in around 47 minutes. It isn't anything to write home about (Hulk Hogan appears in 3 segments), but it's amazing how much more enjoyable a show of that length is compared to the three hour monstrosity it would become (and that Raw is today).

    ReplyDelete
  11. RAW: Pass.
    Batista: More power to him.
    KC: 1996 ECW, please.
Highspots: More for BB to review?

You can blame WWE for having him hug the Authority in one of his first appearances while (in theory) pushing him as a face. You can also blame WWE for making his first (lopsided) feud with Del Rio (a fine wrestler but someone with little heat), including the classic distraction roll up finish. You can blame WWE for bashing part-time Hollywood movie stars for several years.

    ReplyDelete
  13. He talked about how he wanted to come in as a heel and he knew the crowd was gonna shit on him as a face.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Depends how much if his return was him demanding to be put in the main event of WrestleMania and winning the royal rumble. That's why the crowd turned on him.

    ReplyDelete
  15. My mind is blown by the amount of victories ADR racked up on his way up.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Need a JLaw Timeline from yesterday and needed it... yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  17. On Jericho's podcast, Batista got all ruffled because fans were chanting for Bryan instead of paying attention to the match in the ring. This seems to be a common sentiment in WWE...blaming the fans for being bored during a Randy Orton or Sheamus match where if you've seen one, you've seen them all.

    ReplyDelete
  18. You realize that was all bullshit that people just assumed, yeah?

    ReplyDelete
  19. He does, that I won't deny. Startlingly good insight, even. It's just that I feel like he's already shared his thoughts and feelings on every ECW worker and angle on a KC shoot about 8 times now.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Checking out Judgment Day 09. Recall this being a decent show.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love Jack but I don't know how good he'll be in the Timeline format. He's never struck me as one for having a great memory about specific event/moment details. His strength is him just ranting about whatever. Hopefully it turns out good though.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't buy the idea that he's done with wrestling and may never come back. I think that's conjecture based on the fact that he didn't come back after Summerslam like people said he would, but that's because there's nowhere to put him right now.

But yeah, I can't fault him for not being thrilled with how his return was handled. Spoiling it did half the job and that hug on his first night back finished it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. lol. this must be infuriating for Vince: one of "his guys" starred in what seems to be the hottest blockbuster of the summer.... and his company couldn't hardly capitalize on this at all.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Batista deserved better than what happened to him last time around. I want to see him do at least one more program with someone done right in the WWE, but he needs to do some heavy cardio and get in ring shape before he even thinks about coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Batista doesn't need the WWE; the WWE doesn't need Batista.

    ReplyDelete
  26. But Batista could do one last brief run and bank the cash. Guardians is a hit and Batista will obviously be in the sequel and can make steady income doing small action films, but no reason why he shouldn't get one last WWE payday.

    ReplyDelete
  27. January - that guy was scared of me. Racist motherfucker
February - he still owes me money. Racist motherfucker
March- i had to job to so and so. Racist motherfucker
April- ... (You get the picture)...

I still love New Jack shoots. Always entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  28. They need Punk though.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ever since GotG became a hit I feel that the IWC went from bashing Dave anyway they could to becoming Batista apologists.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Schiavone -" for only $9.99"!

    ReplyDelete
  31. True.
But if just talks about the angles while mixing in the wild stories, it could still be really good.

    ReplyDelete
  32. He'll need to come back again to promote Smurfs 3.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Extant1979 - Ghetto SuperstarSeptember 1, 2014 at 8:36 AM

    They really don't.

    ReplyDelete
  34. The IWC ripped on Batista because of his douchey wardrobe and poor conditioning, but the real issue wasn't with Batista. It was with WWE's use of him and the company's insistence of pushing him at the expense of Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The Love-Matic Grampa!September 1, 2014 at 8:42 AM

Would it be wrong to suggest that perhaps Batista wouldn't be so publicly "unhappy" if GoTG had bombed?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Starting with the third nitro since I've already seen the first two a bunch.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The Love-Matic Grampa!September 1, 2014 at 8:44 AM

Is he playing Ring Rat Smurf?

    ReplyDelete
  38. The Love-Matic Grampa!September 1, 2014 at 8:46 AM

Is it fair to say Bryan got over more than Punk did?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Rick Martel might be interesting just because he hasn't done like a billion shoots like other guys.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Extant1979 - Ghetto SuperstarSeptember 1, 2014 at 8:49 AM

I'm not sure about that. Punk was pretty over, but he always connected better as a heel, which confuses the issue a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  41. To be fair, I'm sure they would've made him do a few jobs if they'd have known he was going to smack the piss out of some web geek and get fired.

    ReplyDelete
  42. As long as it doesn't involve Brodus Clay, I will give it a shot.
Sean Oliver needs to not do anymore YouShoots with recently released WWE guys who are afraid or unwilling to talk. They are terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The Love-Matic Grampa!September 1, 2014 at 8:52 AM

I mean, Punk had certain cities where he was a big deal, but I don't think he ever had the widespread support that Bryan did. And even as a heel, he was over but it felt more like people hated having to boo him rather than actually hating him as a character. I could be wrong about that, though.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Martel has done a really good shoot before. He had a pretty interesting take on the murder of Dino Bravo.

    ReplyDelete
  45. He will be the evil smurf Bluetista. He's already been prepping for it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The Love-Matic Grampa!September 1, 2014 at 8:53 AM

Well, he was supposedly leaving anyhow.

    ReplyDelete

The importance of one's happiness does tend to fluctuate with the size of the cheques coming in.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Maybe the "mystique" is gone a bit (pun not realized til after I typed it) because she looks the same naked as every other girl, but she's still hot as fuck. Kate Upton's giant boobs seem somehow disappointing, but I could just be insane.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Victoria Justice seems really pleased with herself and her boobs taking all those pictures, and god bless her for it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The IWC being hypocritical marks? No way.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Good for Batista, sorry that the last 6 months haven't worked for him, but it looks like his film career will be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  52. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighSeptember 1, 2014 at 9:06 AM

Batista is awesome. He was great on Jericho's podcast. Guy truly loves wrestling... I think he isn't a fan of PG and he accounts how he wanted to come back heel cause he is better like that and he had a lot of creative issues with his 2014 return. Comes off very humble and like able in the interview

    ReplyDelete
  53. I know I became one, when I'm finding him more entertaining than he should be, I'm definitely going to apologize.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Mister_E_BarrettsLastPrivateerSeptember 1, 2014 at 9:08 AM

So was Batista actually any good in the movie?

So let's assume that he gets more work off of this, will it likely flop without the Marvel juggernaut behind it?

    ReplyDelete
  55. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighSeptember 1, 2014 at 9:08 AM

Tells stories on Jericho's podcast that he was having issues with his knee after filming guardians. Tried to pack on pounds before his return and be all jacked up and it didn't work for him. Took him awhile to get back into ring shape.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I heard that Marvel didn't want them to.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well thank goodness he took quick action. Now those pictures won't spread... /s

    ReplyDelete
  58. In other news, Jake underwent a bronchoscopy and seems to be slowly improving. Good sign.

And WWE approves talent to do Jericho and Austin's podcast, but refuses to approve anyone for Ross' podcast. I didn't know JR had that much heat with the WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  59. The Love-Matic Grampa!September 1, 2014 at 9:11 AM

It depends. If he stays in the character actor/ensemble cast wheelhouse, he'll be fine. And he certainly has the chops for the C-level action flick hero. Reaching farther than that could be risky.

    ReplyDelete
  60. He could play the Blue Beetle in the Justice League film.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Man, after reading this, I'm starting to like Batista more.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Maybe they just think JR's podcast sucks.

God knows they wouldn't be alone....

    ReplyDelete
  63. I still think there's money in Batista v Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Mister_E_BarrettsLastPrivateerSeptember 1, 2014 at 9:17 AM

JR seems like kind of a dick.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Either that or the fact that I liked chubby Jennifer Lawrence better, not the flat ass bony hip version. Still attractive, just less so now. Completely agree on Uptoms boobs. Something's...not so awesome about them.

    ReplyDelete
  66. It's amazing what being in a comic book geek movie instead of ursurping the top guy's heat will do for your reputation.

    ReplyDelete
  67. CruelConnectionNumber2September 1, 2014 at 9:22 AM

Austin and Jericho are WWE talent. Signed. Jim Ross is not.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Extant1979 - Ghetto SuperstarSeptember 1, 2014 at 9:39 AM

Rick Martel and Tony Garea? That's a guess off the top of my head...

    Hot damn, I was right!

    ReplyDelete
  74. well there were 3 changes. Name the other ones

    ReplyDelete
  75. Batista was signed to a GotG sequel before the film even hit theaters, no way he's coming back. And good for him.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Mister_E_BarrettsLastPrivateerSeptember 1, 2014 at 9:41 AM

Fuji and Tanaka and/or The Samoans?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Extant1979 - Ghetto SuperstarSeptember 1, 2014 at 9:41 AM

It would be cheating, I already looked at Wikipedia to see if I was right with Martel and Garea.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Fuji is right but wrong partner. The other is wrong

    ReplyDelete
  79. then you are disqualified. I'm still looking for that 10th caller with the other two teams. Hit us up

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yeah that sounds right.

    ReplyDelete

It would have been an easier run had he not chosen those pants.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Perhaps we can all win with a double countout.

    ReplyDelete
  138. And what's the problem with two part timers, one of whom made the other, having a final match at the biggest show of the year?

    ReplyDelete
  139. Actually, I don't think Austin is under any kind of contract right now.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Part timers need to die or something. But wrestlers need an off season so they don't get too stale. But they just can't be part timers. I think that's what I understood from the past few years.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I was pumped for the return. I told everyone I knew who had to listen to me talk about wrestling how excited I was for Batista's return. Then he came out in THOSE pants and hugged HHH. I was completely done with the entire run right there.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Marvel asked them not to because they didn't want people to think it was a "wrestler movie."

    ReplyDelete
  143. It all depends on what they have cooking by Rumble, if HHH has nothing else to do why not do a match with Dave? But if, like this year, HHH has a reason to be in some other storyline to put a guy over, let him do that instead.

    Who cares either way really.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I know. I'm saying that the leak half-fucked him.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I didn't mind the hugging HHH at all.

1- he was the owner who rehired him
2- They had a past history, and he was one of his mentors.

3- HHH was still a sort of kind of tweener at the time, he didn't full heel until after the Rumble.

a2) Warehouse manager at Circuit City. Had so much fun, worked really hard and partied a lot... it was basically high school for me as I didn't get the traditional high school experience.

    b) I worked at a Hot Dog place called Frank & Stein. Horrible job by every metric.

    c) I'm better than you

  156. I dunno - she looks pretty into it to me, although Xmen 1st Class Jennifer Lawrence would've been much better. She has that flat ass meat lump above her buttcrack. Not doing it for me.

  157. 1) Little Caesar's. Smoke weed, make pizza, eat pizza.
    2) Kruse and Muer on Main Street dishwasher. I'm highly allergic to dishwashing tank chemicals and it turned my legs into the harlequinn fetus.
    3) J & B and Ginger Ale, preferably Vernor's.
