BoD Daily Update

WWE Using Lesnar for More Shows?

Since being champion, there is a deal in place for Lesnar as far as money is concerned but the agreement is that the WWE can book Lesnar as champion on every RAW and PPV based on when they feel like putting him on the shows as there is a deal in place that allows the WWE to increased the amount of dates on a pro-rate basis.

Bully Ray Returning to TNA?

  1. Um. Which option puts ice cream in my empty bowl?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Absolutely agree.

Once the RAW recap is posted, really nothing else should be until the morning, maybe until the Daily Update, because the RAW review brings a lot of viewers and it should resonate on top of the page for a several hours

    ReplyDelete
  3. I don't mind it either, but change is coming.

That's why I vote schedule. Eliminates the clutter and we keep things mostly the same content wise, which is what I want.

    ReplyDelete
  4. The idea that they titled the show "Iowa Raucous" makes me insanely angry at their writers.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Schedule is the way to go. If you aren't on the schedule and want to post something, you just submit a request.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hmmmmmm, nothing fishy here.

    ReplyDelete
  7. It should be "Iowa RAWcous"!!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Would if I could, guvner. For now I gave Brian admin powers.

    ReplyDelete
  9. well cena himself saying hes not there to win but to beat his ass pretty much confirmed it. like when rock sweared to god he would beat punk...

    ReplyDelete
  10. I like Seth Rollins. Very good worker and he really seems to want to be a top star.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Good for Brock. He should earn as much money as he possibly can from WWE before he loses interest.

...Unless this is WWE's attempt to SWERVE the online folks by making them think Brock will work more dates when he's really just losing the belt at NOC and not coming back until Mania season.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sideshow Bob
"Especially Meeking . . . but ESPECIALLY Dock!"

    ReplyDelete
  13. "It has been reported that Rollins is a project of HHH, who has been
protective of and believes in Rollins ability to become a star."

I hope Hunter doesn't make all of his "projects" take as many AA's from Cena as Rollins has recently. Contrary to WWE's belief, just putting a guy in the ring with Cena doesn't make him seem "prime time" if they have SuperCena treat him like Duane Gill (see Sandow, Damian).

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah this is news to me as well

  15. Stranger in the AlpsSeptember 4, 2014 at 8:09 AM

The Network has added to the Video Vault, Mankind vs. Ken Shamrock for the IC title from Judgment Day '98, RAW from 10/5/98: McMahon vs. The Bedpan and the introduction of Socko; RAW from 8/4/14, entitled, and I kid you not, "Nine Ninety Nine".

    ReplyDelete
  16. MORLOCKS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. 800 of those 1000 posts are Abeyance. And 400 of those are "yup."

    ReplyDelete
  18. evolution is a mystery....

    ReplyDelete
  19. yeah he killed it that day

    ReplyDelete
  20. "Right now, there is a belief within TNA that there is a "slightly better
than 50% chance" that Bully Ray returns to TNA at the next set of
    television tapings."

Since TNA is apparently not doing house shows anymore, why don't they just pay him per appearance to show up for taping every six weeks? With live PPVs that's only like 12 shows a year anyway.

In fact, why should TNA bother having contracts at all if this is going to be the case since the future is so uncertain? It's not like the wrestlers are going to jump anywhere at this point, because if WWE really wanted any of them they would've snatched them up by now.

    ReplyDelete
  21. HHH backs Rollins. Vince loves Reigns. Meanwhile,Ambrose is the most interesting one by far.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I am thinking up a schedule for people now.

Tommy, Logan, and myself have a set schedule. Stranger seems to have one as well.

I will fill in the gaps with everyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I bet they think a great deal about Ambrose as well.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Part of me wants to see Cena win the belt to see the reaction. Is that weird?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Stranger in the AlpsSeptember 4, 2014 at 8:19 AM

That's overstating it.....a little. The comments to any post should be either about the topic presented in general OR for outright mocking. Once the threadjacking starts, we need somewhwere to go.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Can Zana's SSW stuff be 3 am Saturday morning? It seems appropriate given his subject matter.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wade reported that Ambrose is also a project of HHH but did not go into detail.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Its terrible booking but who am I to tell you what you do and do not see

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm only in favor of this if Flair comes out to congratulate him and then ends up piledriving him on the table to declare that he will take the belt and become a 17-time champion.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree it's terrible booking but I could see the backlash being something we've never seen before.
I guess I should want to see what I want to happen and that's Lesnar winning and Cena going away.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Something tells me that is more Vince than Hunter's doing, but that's pure speculation on my part.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I doubt they would have included him as part of the biggest faction in the last 15 years only to have him shunted into a Kofi Kingston role.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Watch the Shield special on the Network. Whoever put that together did so with the impression that all 3 of those guys are the future of the company.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'll have to check it out; that may make me sad though. Still miss the group.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Feel the same way, but I don't see WWE hooking the wagon to Ambrose in any major way. He doesn't have "the look."

    ReplyDelete
  36. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonSeptember 4, 2014 at 8:25 AM

IMO, you should put BoD Raw on the following day as it tends to get buried.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I caught it the other day and enjoyed it, but it wasn't the glowing product others are saying it is IMO. Still worth checking out.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I find the TNA stuff is so confusing. They may have a station to go to, then again, maybe not. They might be done with house shows, or quite possibly not.
This isn't a judgment on the Newz reports but rather TNA and them running around with their head cut off.

    ReplyDelete
  39. disagree. I thought that was horribly "cringeworthy".

    ReplyDelete
  40. If HHH thinks Rollings can be a star, his current role as HHH's chosen lapdog seems peculiar

    ReplyDelete
  41. The only thing you need to know about TNA is EVERYTHING IS FINE!

    ReplyDelete
  42. "Slightly better than 50% chance" something happens. Meltzer is more wishy washy than the weatherman.

    ReplyDelete
  43. "But there's only a 10% chance of that."

    ReplyDelete
  44. I purposely put it up between the RAW Thread and Andy's review because the people who follow it know about it and it really should not be the top billing on the page for more than 45 minutes

    ReplyDelete
  45. He has it as much as Rollins does.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That is the quote someone fed to him.

    ReplyDelete
  47. He's not his lap dog right now; he's the future of the Authority which is the top heel stable in WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  48. He seems in shape, he doesn't seem that much smaller than guys who have been top guys in the recent past - orton, bryan, cena etc.. I imagine women find his good looking. He doesn't look like a guy off a comic book like lesnar or reigns, but I think he has an above average look for a wrestler. And he's good enough at everything else to make up for it

    ReplyDelete
  49. When are they going to start updating the raws?

    ReplyDelete
  50. ok. He seems subservient to HHH and Steph to me, but maybe I'm reading it wrong

I also dont really think of "The Authority" as a stable, but I guess you could make that argument

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm fine with a schedule too, that seems to be where the wind is blowing.

    ReplyDelete
  52. LOL!
I wish we could fast forward to the beginning of 2015 to see what their future state would be.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Percentages are stupid and pointless. 18% of people know that...

    ReplyDelete
  54. because if someone is being stupid or a prick it will get a lot of comments, but that doesn't mean that it's worthwhile

    ReplyDelete
  55. I have no problem with his look, in fact its one of the things I love about the guy. But it's not the look WWE wants for its A-List Players. They want Cenas, Lesnars, Romans, and Rocks. You know as well as I do how picky they are in terms of that.

    ReplyDelete
  56. They're smart to slowly build Archie Stackhouse.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Normally I post my rants on Tuesdays at noon ET, but with the Labor Day holiday I was a day (and a few hours) late this week. I can stick to Tuesdays at noon if that works.

    ReplyDelete
  58. 23%. Do your homework, Jordan.

    ReplyDelete
  59. REMAIN CALM! ALL IS WELL!

    ReplyDelete
  60. "Slightly better than 50% chance"...a deal in place for Lesnar that is like his reported deal' but might be able to add dates for extra money if they choose to. Every base covered....love that Meltzer.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It does a pretty good job of showing where the guys each came from, how the Shield was their way of breaking onto the main roster, and how the breakup was natural & even necessary for the 3 to continue to the top. Think of it as therapy if you are suffering from Post Shield Depression. It's maybe a notch below the similar special they did for Daniel Bryan, but only because the focus has to be split between 3 guys instead of 1.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I guess this isn't the day to submit the inauguBoD Prime.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Virgil would like to have a word with you. He runs the nWo B-team.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Well, they keep dressing him like the second coming of the Brooklyn Brawler. He did pretty well for himself, right?

    ReplyDelete
  65. He's a Piper/Pillman hybrid, which I love. Unfortunately, neither of those guys became World champ. And, as much as I love Ambrose, I don't think the WWE sees him as the top guy.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Rollins is more of the "good-looking, chiseled rock star" they like. And again, I'm more referring to the picky bullshit from the company, not my preferences.

    ReplyDelete
  67. He did beat Triple H.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Zana gets the ECW treatment? Does that mean that 911 can chokeslam himi?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hey Brian, RAW script is the whole thing, just takes a bit to load. Interesting to look at though.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I just know that I loved Daniel's title win and 5 minute celebration at SummerSlam 2013... But then Orton's music hit, and when HHH hit the pedigree, I was literally jumping up and down with a Bo Dallas'esque grin on my face.

    ReplyDelete
  71. This isn't an argument.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Not really. It means people want some sort of quality control so you can't deliberately troll like Dock Muraco or use it to post gibberish like the book review guy did.

    ReplyDelete
  73. To me that's part of the fun because no matter what happens the title is going to wind up their sooner or later. HOW it gets their will be the real selling point.

    ReplyDelete
  74. He can have a CM Punk type role I think. (Assuming he's happy with that and doesn't quit due to being the #2 guy) .

    ReplyDelete
  75. I don't think getting rid of Meekin goes far enough. I think we should find out where he lives, go over there and break all his fingers unless he promises to never type anything anywhere ever again.

I do have to admit that I'm sorta a fan of horrible writing. There are several blogs I check regularly just to see what horrible stupid stuff they came up with this time. It's the internet equivalent of slowing down to look at a car wreck.

One of my "favorite" blogs belongs to a middle aged 300 pound woman who does "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" role plays.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think that's pretty much ready for the scrap heap at this point, anyway. We'll always have Hardcore Jesus and some extra-shitty wrestling to remember it by.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I was 48% sure that my guess was correct. Now I am 90% embarrassed, and 10% disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  78. He's almost never wrong, ya know!

    ReplyDelete
  79. "Click on the link below to see five pages of the script, which has yet to be verified."

That RAW script better be authentic. Anyone taking the time to type up an entirely fake 29 page WWE RAW script should seek professional help immediately.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I also love the Japanese stuff, but a once a week rundown of significant news & notes as well as a few matches would be much better than a scattershot posting of matches and news & notes.

    ReplyDelete
  81. No, but he can take a couple Fat Guy Splashes from Beau James.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Thanks for addressing this, Scott. But no thank you for doing this after I went to bed.

I don't think a B Forum is the way to go. No one is going to read it and will end up being ignored.

I think Bayless will do a good job, I just think we need to stop using writers who exist just to troll like Meekin and Dock Muraco.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Don't hold out oN us, link?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Or a Raw involving his online buddies?

OH YEAH I TOTALLY WENT THERE!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. "Slightly better than 50% chance" meaning it could LITERALLY GO EITHER WAY"

99.99999% chance also means it could literally go either way.

But yeah - slightly better than 50/50 isn't a very bold prediction

    ReplyDelete
  86. Does the blogger program allow for some kind of listing of the most recent articles topics on a sidebar like how the gawker sites do it? If you moved excess stuff to a b-site but could have a list of the articles there on the sidebar that'd probably be the perfect solution.

  101. 1) Shocked...More money for more appearances.

    2) The scripts are usually more interesting than the show.

    3) This is a good thing. Seth Rollins is a guy of average size but high quality of talent on the stick and in the ring. Really regardless of who "wins" the program, Rollins and Ambrose both took themselves up the ladder with the work they have put forth to get it over.

    4) So I guess Vince and HHH said, "thanks but no thanks". Little surprised at that. The Dudleys probably had a nice nostalgia run in them. Better than what the New Age Outlaws gave them.

  125. Piper didn't need the belt. It's not like a title could have gotten him more over than he was in his prime.

Pillman, I dunno. He's was very banged up before he even started wrestling. Then the pain pill addiction. If he was healthy, maybe he could've been a top guy. He was only 35 when he died, so he probably had a decent chunk of his career left. I don't think a world title would have been out of the question for him if hurt and high all the time.

I wouldn't have put a belt on Piper either. He didn't job and to be honest he was kind of boring in the ring.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I always found that strange about people "not needing to be champ", yet there is a 100% direct link to "being champ = making more money". So it's like they're punishing guys who are naturally over? or did they compensate with bigger paydays?

    ReplyDelete
  132. idk why the bell didnt use maxwell nerdstrom more. he was a quality character.

    ReplyDelete
  133. C&P'ed from my Facebook:

If this is true, then I can only hope that WWE doesn't give into the temptation of having him on TV every week or two. And I REALLY hope that WWE doesn't give into the temptation of having him wrestle competitive matches on TV on any type of regular basis.

Brock is a very unique attraction/performer, and possesses an almost not-of-this-world mystique; the less exposure, the better. I'm 100% in the camp that thinks that he should be a "special attraction", that fans should have to pay top-dollar (or $9.99...) for the privilege of seeing him. If you make the PPVs mean something again, then you make the WWE Network mean something.

PLUS, keeping him off TV could also help boost House Shows. Just imagine if you never got to see him on TV, but had the opportunity to see him live in your town. THAT would be a great way to pack the house.

As for TV, it's not like you need Brock around - Cena's still their biggest cash-cow, and there are plenty of others to help carry the load. Vince really has a great chance to help some of the sagging aspects of his business, I hope he doesn't screw the pooch through overexposure.

    ReplyDelete

  137. Yep, I have said a few times, the only reasons to go to a house show these days are either to buy a Cena Shirt, or to really see how big the Big Show is in person. Really nothing else, we know the matches mean nothing, and the top stars are on Raw/Smackdown every week.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Ambrose is pretty jacked. I was surprised how much bigger he looks compared to when he was in developmental. I think he's bigger than his announced weight of 225 or whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Been watching a few of The Monday Night Wars episodes on the Network. So far a little underwhelming, but it's fine as background noise in the morning or whatever.

What does strike me though is how shitty it must be for a Dolph Ziggler or Kofi Kingston to be a talking head on these things, going on and on about how great it was to watch wrestling in those days and how OVER all the characters were and how everyone got to do crazy stuff to get over with fans and how great everything was... and then cut to Dolph and Kofi etc in modern times not being allowed to do jack shit nowadays to get over in any way. The current crop of guys come off like supergeeks talking about the Attitude/NWO Era, especially since all their comments come off like "Yup, that was so much more fun than today's boring shit featuring losers like me!"

    ReplyDelete
  149. I'm fine with the current set up as well. All we need to do is formally ban CoolRapistBret. Then take away posting privileges from Danielle, Dock Muraco and Meekin and the BoD will be better than ever. Addition by subtraction.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Ambrose is wayyyyyyy more marketable for WWE than Brian Pillman ever was.

I love Pillman, but the dude was a broken down midget. There's way more money in a guy of Ambrose's size for WWE than there ever could have been for Flyin' Brian.

    ReplyDelete
  155. His avatar looks like the biggest piece of shit on the planet. He is also amazingly pompous and can't take any criticism. I'm sorry, but you just can't talk about how big of a film buff you are and then name Armageddon one of the most influential movies of the 90's.

He doesn't know the difference between a botch and a shoot and instead of realizing his mistake and fixing it he continues to argue about how it's "semantics." It isn't semantics Meekin you're just wrong.

Didn't TNA also believe Hulk Hogan would re-sign after building the company around him, too?

  159. Rollins with the MITB briefcase now is kind of Orton in Evolution with the IC belt. Or so it strongly comes across to me.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Agreed. I mean I doubt they care if Ziggler/Miz/Kofi come off as geeky fans, so no real harm, but that IS what they come off as. At least when Punk or an Ambrose talk, you feel like "OK well these guys get to do cool stuff even today" so they feel more like contemporaries to the Attitude guys.

But Kofi and his crew basically come off as modern versions of The Goon and Duke The Dumpster and all the shit 90s characters that the Monday Night Wars shits on.

It's an entire series highlighting how lame and out of touch WWE was at one point, meanwhile so much of the current product is EXACTLY as bad as that was.

  161. Eh, I would thin the herd a little more than that. I didn't want my post yesterday to be seen as bitching - and I tried to be constructive - but I would like to see most of the content moved to the sub-site. Bayless can link to it in the morning thread.

  162. Yes, Brock is the modern-day version of 1970s Andre the Giant -- a special attraction that fans don't get to see everyday so it's always a big deal when he returns. I don't think WWE will use him week-to-week because it not only ruins that mystique, but they probably just can't afford it.

I'm not sure Brock will ever agree to do house shows, but I've been saying for years that WWE could boost house show business by essentially ripping off how indie feds back houses by bringing in one or two familiar names that aren't on TV. Heck, they focus so much on the "Legends" these days anyway.

I'd probably buy a ticket to a house show if I knew Vader or Sid was going to be there. It also gives the younger talent a chance to work with a veteran. I'm not saying it's going to sell out the house, but it definitely adds something unique to the house shows.

  163. Usually when people start dumping on the authors I don't care to pile on because I rarely read it anyway, but Meekin overreacted just like Caliber and came across like an idiot. I don't understand why people want to post here, then get pissed off if they get some criticism.

    ReplyDelete
  164. One reason I don't like that show is because it underlines exactly how unaware of themselves the wwe really is right now

  166. the only thing i saw of him was his ddp yoga testimonial. where he said he traded in ccq chips for carrots and a 1 sauce lol.

  167. So if Brock is retaining at NoC, which even moreso I believe he is... what do we think teh finish is? Does Brock squash Cena AGAIN? That'd be amazing.

Even steven match and then Brock still wins decisively?

If it was a heel other than Brock, I could see Rusev interfering and costing Cena the match and becoming his next feud. But how bizarre would it be to see Brock get help from a cartoony guy like Rusev? Again, Brock just seems like he's on a different planet than almost the entire roster.

    ReplyDelete
  168. To be fair, I actually *was* pretty impressed with how large Show and Khali are in real life.

    So there's that.

    ReplyDelete
  169. speakin of kofi what r they doing with the new nation of domination??? are they dumping it already?

    ReplyDelete
  170. Boot everyone except Bayless to the sub-site? I don't think Meekin, Dock or Danielle should even be able to post to the sub site. I'm talking a full on banishment from the BoD.

  171. cena said himself hes not there to win but beat his ass. me thinks dq

  172. I'm of the belief that it's easy to skip over anything you don't like. But, Meekin's constant personal comments and creepy sexual lines in his usual poor writing is embarrassing for Scott. Along with Meekin being a punching bag in every comment section now, which is well deserved.

    ReplyDelete
  173. >> yet there is a 100% direct link to "being champ = making more money">>

    Is that still true?

Back in NWA days Champions like Flair would get paid more from promoters so they could have world title matches in their territories.

But now all that's over now. Why would Vince pay someone more just because they're the champ? They're under contract and there isn't anywhere else for them to go.

    ReplyDelete
  174. They'll do some angle to set up Cenas next feud

    ReplyDelete
  175. im with you, if i see something that doesnt interest me i skip over it. woah tell me more of meekins sexual lines?? i need to start reading his shit lol.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I guess I perversely enjoy it for that reason. They're going on and on about how lame the mid 90s roster was and then... ADAM ROSE! Fandango!

You could use that same Keith david narration about how out of touch WWE was and just underlay brand new footage from 2014.

And the worst part of it is how talented the current roster actually is. I mean, guys like Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, Godfather etc couldn't wrestle a match for shit and got over based on their characters and booking. How amazing would Cesaro, Ziggler, Sandow, Sheamus, etc be in that same environment?

    ReplyDelete
  177. It's absolutely an embarrassment to Scott. This guy is obviously trying to piggy back Scott's fame for his own gain and it's sad and pathetic. Just don't let him post. He should get his own blog to ask for tips in beating drug tests or discussion of his bowel movements or to pretend that woman are interested in him. He shouldn't be doing it here.

    ReplyDelete
  178. hes like 400 lbs, how are any broads interested in him?

    ReplyDelete
  179. It's not even the weight... he just comes across as completely unlikeable in any way.

Is there any suggestion that Brock is appearing on house shows? Why on earth would WWE pay Brock his rate to appear before 2000 people? I guess it might work if you prey on people's gullibility but seems scummy even for WWE.

I'm still a little confused by the "chance" argument (for the house show comment as well but more often for the Network): if I wouldn't subscribe to the Network but for Brock, why would I sign up for a 6 month commitment when there is only a chance he will wrestle at each PPV, and even less of a chance none of his opponents would be tomato cans?

I do agree with presenting Brock as a "special attraction," so hope we don't see him in a stupid backstage segment or throwaway six-man tag each week.

Perhaps put on hold because of the Ferguson issues.

  186. YEAH! Take the lead! Show leadership! That's what Vince would like!

  187. Its probably either cena puts him over clean in a super competitive match or the next guy cena is feuding with interferes somehow.

  188. Violate some child labor laws. Get your kid to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  189. I think a heel turned Sheamus (turn this fucking guy heel and let everyone boo him already) or a re-pushed Cesaro (put him back with Heyman) would make the most sense. Both would be relatively fresh Cena feuds, plus neither guy would seem too out of place next to Brock.

I'm guessing though it's probably Rusev, or weeeeeeeell it's the Big Show.
Ha fuck it, it'll be Big Show.

Whatever, as long as Brock retains.
