  1. How bout that Tony Romo, eh?

  2. Mitch, The GodfatherSeptember 7, 2014 at 4:49 PM

    It's Colts vs. Broncos.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Ah, Night of Champions 2012, where Punk and Cena were well on their way to another MOTYC until a really shitty non-finish happened. And given that Cena got hurt after this and we never wound up with a follow-up rematch, time and perspective have not been kind to that ending.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I don't mind non-finishes at shitty B-level PPV's.

    ReplyDelete
  5. It was the right move if it meant the blowoff would happen at the next show or whenever Cena got healthy again, except that didn't end up happening.

    ReplyDelete

It's fixed, you football smart guy.

I don't know where I got my information from.

    ReplyDelete
  7. About NJPW, Bullet Club last dance should be at WK9.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I don't remember this show at all, didn't realize there was a third Cena/Punk match.

    ReplyDelete
  9. It's a ****1/2, great ending.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Better than SummerSlam, not as good as MITB.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Between the way he was booked for the Bryan feud and the subsequent Del Rio feud, poor Sheamus never stood a chance, did he?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nothing could top MITB.

    ReplyDelete
  13. He should be a smilin guy that loves to inflict pain on his opponents.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I know instinct is to lump Big Show on this list, too, but I actually liked the Sheamus/Big Show matches. Those were intense brawls.

    ReplyDelete
  15. They had 2 killer matches back to back, the first was actually ***1/2-****.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Big Show was weird during that time. I can't stand him but he actually had some good matches against Sheamus and then Del Rio.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Honestly, how depressing is it to look at that NOC 2012 card and realize that everyone on it is either in the exact same spot on the card or worse? This was two years ago!

    ReplyDelete
  18. There's a song from a late Brazilian singer called Cazuza, in the chorus he says this

"I see the future repeat the past,
I see a museum full of news".

    ReplyDelete
  19. So this weekend I decided to binge watch mad men because I had never seen it before. I wish women continued to dress that way today.
Hot damn christina Hendricks is fine on that show.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Even progressive flo looks good on that show

    ReplyDelete
  21. On the flip side: how cool is it that 3 of the focal points of the company today hadn't even debuted. Reigns, Rollins, and Ambrose.

    ReplyDelete
  22. And who thought they were gonna go that far?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'll be honest I thought WrestleMania 29 was gonna be Ryback getting his revenge on the Shield and that would be the end of their run.

WWE knocked The Shield out of the park.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well they let him beat Ziggler about 10,000 times.

    ReplyDelete
  25. They made look important. So when Bryan made one of them tap out it was a big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  26. To kill Ziggler's heat.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Also not as good as the Raw match with the piledriver.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That show takes place where I live. I wish I had started watching it when it premiered.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think he was just too damn good at selling the Brogue kick. He should've went all Kevin Nash and just awkwardly fell down instead of doing the big Hennig bump.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Alison Brie looks better on it than on community

Is it sad that I have been looking forward to the sunday thread for the past two weeks? I am not home at night much and last weekend I was at my sisters wedding. I Think it's somewhat sad. Yes its sad.

Could be worse....someone could be dead.

  33. Watching the best overbooked match ever from Over the Edge '98, Patterson introduces Brisco: "Some call him the reincarnation of Jim Thorpe, but we call him friend."

    L-O-L, this match fucking rules

    ReplyDelete
  34. I like the more subdued heel Vince than the Over the top version he became later.

    ReplyDelete
  35. That match was so awesome. Austin and Foley worked well together.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh god, the Patterson intro is killing me, "There is no way to explain how much our next guest means to us all, he's given us hope, love, understanding and the will to say 'Yes I Can'!" hahaha

    This intro is legend

    ReplyDelete
  37. Stranger in the AlpsSeptember 7, 2014 at 5:18 PM

But I happily posted it. Is that sad also?

    ReplyDelete
  38. The match is legendary. Also Taker rocked in the endind.

    ReplyDelete
  39. And yeah, it's super weird seeing Vince come out to silence, I guess we didn't get No Chance until like Rumble of that year maybe

    ReplyDelete
  40. This match was Ridiculous Vince Russo Overbooking at its finest.

    ReplyDelete
  41. YankeesHoganTripleHFanSeptember 7, 2014 at 5:20 PM

Well no. The Wedding was a ton of fun!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. It's so weird, because I can't picture Vince coming out, without No Chance playing now.

    ReplyDelete
  43. "Ive got news for you, I'm not going to introduce a bum!" *crowd goes wild*

Every single little thing about this is magical.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Something cool about this show, a different setting.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Those in charge apparently did, given the scope of their push from day one.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I thought it was a great finish, personally.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Vince goes to ring the bell...
    *dong*
    *Vince gulps*

Fuck yes! I'm marking hard sixteen years later.

  51. There's a lot of flag-burners who have got too much freedom. I want to make it legal for policemen to beat'em cause there's limits to our liberty. At least I hope and pray that there are, cause those Liberal freaks go too far.

  52. davidbonzaisaldanamontgomerySeptember 7, 2014 at 5:37 PM

My receiving corps today: Brandon Cooks with 14 pts, Zach Ertz with 13 pts, Gronk with 10 points, Kelvin Shelton Benjamin with 15 pts, Andre Hawkins on the bench with 8 points, and my WR1 Emmanuel Sanders plays in an hour with no Wes Welker. That's a pretty solid Week 1 from that group; if only Brady and Charles pulled their weight.

    ReplyDelete
  53. "Vince is Gay" chants sixty seconds into the match, hahahaha, I miss the 90's

JR's indignation at every reminder announcement is priceless stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I always had that song in mind when Lee Marshall appeared on WCW TV. I can't really explain it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Now you're catchin' on!

    ReplyDelete
  56. LOL

  57. I'm sorry to say again, but I'm happy.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Wow! Brodus Clay lost a lot of weight.

But he needs to calm down.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yep, then Russo tried to duplicate it about 18 times, with diminishing returns every single time.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think that was at halftime

    ReplyDelete
  61. How come TBK? How come?!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I know it's not "mature" or can be offensive but I always laughed hard at the "___ is gay" chants or signs at the 90's-00's ECW and WWF events.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Stupid reasons, College is doing fine, I'm doing the stuff I want, I found someone that so far seems to like me.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Wait a second...are they really pushing Big Slow again?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Awesome man! Glad you are happy :D

    ReplyDelete
  66. I just want him to blow up like the guy in Big Trouble in Little China.

    ReplyDelete
  67. College Football. NFL. Leaves. Cooler Temperatures. Big Show getting main event pushes. All of these are synonymous with the Autumn season.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Daniel/Kane vs Kofi/Truth is one of my favorite tag title changes of all time.

-The Hugging it out in the middle of the match, to a monstrous pop
-"Why did you do that?" "He was gonna kick your head off!!" "Why did you pull me out of the ring??" "He was gonna kick your head off!!"
-And the fluke pin as Daniel got angry at Kane and pushed him off the top rope.

    GOLD.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yeah, 3 years ago I was trying to kill myself, so that's a advancement.

    ReplyDelete
  70. About NJPW, I was skeptical about YOSHI-HASHI getting a title shot at the NEVER belt, but after the elimination match I believe he can deliver a good match. They just need to work the Bully Heel/smaller but valiant babyface formula.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'd be fine with a Brock vs show match. Who else on that roster could he wrestle. Cesaro is DOA, and Vince doesn't want him with the shield guys yet. Its either big show or hhh part 4 (god no)

    ReplyDelete
  72. I loved someone suggesting either Flair or Steamboat (yes, Ricky) earlier today.... Seriously, someone wrote that.

    ReplyDelete
  73. They shit the bed royally on Cesaro

    ReplyDelete
  74. I also think you should re read Scott's post about bitch fest, cause that's exactly what it is. And never once did he suggest revoking posting privileges.

    ReplyDelete
  75. To wrestle Brock Lesnar after NOC 2014?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Matt Ryan looks 45.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yes. they wanted Ricky Steamboat to wrestle Brock. In 2014.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Same thing I was thinking. He bladed a lot as a youngster I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Looks like the Saints reverted back to their previous defensive ways

    ReplyDelete
  80. JR played the straight man to the craziness that was going on around him perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  81. They just want him as a stale jobber act I guess. Plenty of people will tell you it doesn't matter because he's drawing a steady paycheck but the burial of Cesaro post mania is disgusting to me and shows me Vince is basically brain dead at this point

    ReplyDelete
  82. He looks like a 50's meme.

    ReplyDelete
  83. YankeesHoganTripleHFanSeptember 7, 2014 at 5:56 PM

Just for the hell of it..Main Event at Mania 31 Reins vs Lesner or Ambrose vs Lesner? Power vs Power or Power vs Crazy. One would be Hogan vs Warrior like, the other...I don't know what the hell we would get. And...go

    ReplyDelete
  84. I mean I could see Brock beating him up on a raw to get heat maybe, but wrestling a match, that's crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Now for Sunday Night Background Noise on NBC.

    ReplyDelete
  86. The face pops he was getting and won that battle royal impressively...then he got a five-alarm burial for reasons not known. They could have built him up and bang they'd have someone to face Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Goddamn it I had a chance to get that rookie wr on the panthers and I was like "if everyone thinks a sleeper will be awesome that means he's gonna suck"

    ReplyDelete
  88. Do kids even say that anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  89. Problem is Vince has lost it.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I know 1998 tends to get lumped in with "bad Attitude Era" stuff like 1999, but I think it was really good for the most part, especially from WrestleMania through SummerSlam. I actually really liked the booking all through Survivor Series and even into early 1999 but I can see why people didn't.

I thought Austin-Undertaker, two guys who don't trust each other but kinda don't have a choice at points, was really well done. The Austin/Kane double switch at King of the Ring and the next night on Raw was a really great wrinkle to keep things fresh. The build to Austin/Undertaker was so great, even if the match was a bit of a letdown. I really enjoyed the idea of the triple threat main event at Breakdown where Kane and Undertaker couldn't pin each other but it seemed that was the start of people not liking the booking. But hell, I thought that was good, as well as the next month with Kane v. Undertaker and Austin as referee and of course the Deadly Game tournament at Survivor Series.

And I'll be damned if Rock/Foley wasn't a nice little feud with one of the great Raw moments of all time. To me, things didn't start to get overly Russo-riffic until the week before WrestleMania 15 when he decided to switch the IC Title and Hardcore Title holders, and thus the WM matches, for the sake of swerving even though the title matches had been set and had feuds behind them. Then it got worse with HHH's turn and so on and so forth.

The lack of great wrestling, especially on TV, didn't bother me much at the time since I was 11/12 and didn't really care much about 'workrate'. It didn't even bother me much on re-watch because the matches are so quick and everything just kept going that to me, it was fine.

    ReplyDelete
  91. YankeesHoganTripleHFanSeptember 7, 2014 at 6:00 PM

Are you talking about fantasy football cause....zzzzz......oh sorry just fell asleep. carry on

    ReplyDelete
  92. As Vince heads into the diapers and pee smell stage of his life its scary to think how bad the booking of the wwe will be.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I'll wake you up when we get to kid touching bro

    ReplyDelete
  94. Kids here still say "faggot" to a referee in Football matches.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Pretty sure that dude was being sarcastic and/or playin'.

    ReplyDelete
  96. It'll be like Jerry Jones, but worse.

    ReplyDelete
  97. What is this Saturday morning of which you speak? I'm pretty sure it goes from late Friday to scene missing to headache Saturday afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Preemo burn, home slice.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Now if you could time machine shit, that's a hell of a match!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Cup half full outlook: Without Vince's OCD-like changing of booking plans constantly, things will gel better and the product will improve

    ReplyDelete
  101. I hope to god he was. But I have a feeling he wasn't, as he was suggesting Brock facing a "legend", and threw a few other names out there.

    ReplyDelete
  102. YankeesHoganTripleHFanSeptember 7, 2014 at 6:02 PM

I'd be burned if I knew what the hell he was talking about

    ReplyDelete
  103. That's one thing I agree with, it's terrible how they didn't do anything with Cesaro, he's one of my favorites.

    ReplyDelete
  104. "Yep Mode" ABeyAnce1©September 7, 2014 at 6:03 PM

I say he's the second guy with the 10 year WM curse.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I wish they used silence more. I still despise the entrance music playing during run-ins. It is true that it's easy to cue up the song, but I like the idea that the wrestler is so shady or just plain mad that the production crew isn't playing them out.

An example where I think no theme music would really work is Brie Bella - Stephanie took the music from Brie, so why have a new song made? That or I'd love them to just troll her to bits with some really insulting song.

    ReplyDelete
  106. All his favorite jokes will have come true!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Thank you NBC for streaming Sunday Night Football for we cord-cutting types.

    ReplyDelete
  108. He body slammed Big Show out of the ring to win a huge battle royal at Wrestlemania. How do you fuck that up?

    ReplyDelete
  109. I still have faith. He's too good a wrestler to be held back for long.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I know people always remember Sid's flip-flops but Vader had some pretty sweet high tops in the bomb on the boat mini movie.

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bw2gJ7UCYAARR1k.jpg:large

    ReplyDelete
  111. the heat is gone though and it is hard to get back.

    ReplyDelete
  112. It was a nice slam, too. He picked him up in the middle of the ring, carried Show over to the ropes and dumped him out.

    ReplyDelete
  113. "Yep Mode" ABeyAnce1©September 7, 2014 at 6:06 PM

If Big Show said he was hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Turn him heel for no reason, put him with Heyman then rack up the jobs.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Would be awesome if they got to the PPV, with Sid and Vader waiting in the ring.... And Sting/bulldog would be no shows... Cause ya know, they're still stuck on the island.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Hogan is the only other guy I've seen slam Show. Hulk freakin Hogan.

    ReplyDelete
  117. YankeesHoganTripleHFanSeptember 7, 2014 at 6:06 PM

It's not jobbers fault. He associates himself with Aldo Montoya and we associate ourselves with the Bulls and Yankees...I mean really who is winning here?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Putting him with Heyman. He and Heyman just didn't work.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Alison Brie looks good no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Nah. Look at a guy like Wade Barrett. He's had so many start-stops and was coming into his own as Bad News Barrett. And Cesaro has a higher ceiling than Barrett.

All Cesaro needs is a solid push and he'll be back. Again, I have faith.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Anyone else here see the NXT match from last year between Cesaro & William Regal? I'm still getting caught up on stuff so apologies if it got discussed to death at the time. Stumbled across it last night and was blown away by how different it was from everything you usually see these days.

    ReplyDelete
  122. They could have found Knight Boat and done a last minute run-in. It was a WCW show, so it would have been held right next to an inlet. Or a fjord.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I didn't see Hogan slam Show but unless Hogan held him up for a few seconds, I bet Cesaro's was more impressive.

Didn't Mark Henry slam Show, too?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Everyone has been cumming on themselves heaping praise on Heyman and he wiffed pretty big as a manager for Cesaro and Ryback.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Is this the first time Lord Peyton has gone up against the Colts since he's left?

    ReplyDelete
  126. I think they learned from their mistakes from Nexus.

    ReplyDelete
  127. It's always awesome when someone WTF slams one of the giants. Harley doing it to Andre was nuts.

    ReplyDelete
  128. It was british style like.

    ReplyDelete
  129. There is a Brock - Flair from a 2002 Raw on the network if that sort of thing interests anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hogan slammed him at the end of a World War 3 it was pretty awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  131. No, the Colts won 39-33 last year.

    ReplyDelete
  132. "Yep Mode" ABeyAnce1©September 7, 2014 at 6:10 PM

No, now I gotta go loom for that one.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Played last year. NFL's treating it like Taker/HHH Wrestlemania 17 for story purposes

    ReplyDelete
  134. Went 3-0 gambling thabks to my boys in sf, the Vikings, and the Eagles. Gonna let it ride on a colts +15/over 49 teaser at +120 odds and throw a nice sized bet on the colts money line at plus 340

    ReplyDelete
  135. You say this as if Heyman is the guy booking the shows.

    ReplyDelete
  136. This feels like something I should remember but my memory's something awful.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Not with Hunter and Steph, Steph is clueless and Hunter is a serpent with a long memory.

That comes after the puberty stage. Unless you skipped puberty and went straight from 10 years old to debauchery.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Yankees are going to miss the playoffs. Jeter's last season will be a failure where it truly counts.

SO FUCKING AWESOME. Enjoy a lonely October.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Buffalo is going undefeated this season and they will be inspired by Jim Kelly's recovery.

    That's because I Bill-lieve!

    ReplyDelete
  142. I saw it on YouTube, not sure if it's on the Network.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Barrett was able to get Show up for the Wasteland(Henry too).

    ReplyDelete
  144. Jobber what are your thoughts on the Hawks owner?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Bad Judge looks like a 3 weeker.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Why would the Ravens have Flacco throw the ball 62 TIMES?!?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  147. Great day for sf but I hate how they brought back Lloyd.

Dante Johnson looks like an amazing draft pick

    ReplyDelete
  148. Because they are a bad team.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Coaches had mini-strokes before the game.

When the leading rusher has a better average than the quarterback... that's not good.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Gotta get that money's worth.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Someone was trying to blackmail him so he just outed himself imo

    ReplyDelete
  152. I mean sweet Jesus...didn't they try to run?

    ReplyDelete
  153. -I AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!
-I AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!!
-IIII AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!
-IIIIII AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!

    ReplyDelete
  154. I'm not sold on Ambrose as main event talent yet. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy but think he needs more development. Reigns definitely needs work, too but I think visually, Reigns and Lesnar has a more epic look/feel.

That being said, I'd rather have Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Or he saw 2 BILLION DOLLARS, and wanted a piece of that.

    ReplyDelete
  156. But to the point of selling the team? The emails seemed fairly tame

    ReplyDelete
  157. racist or businessman?

    ReplyDelete
  158. On a side note, I still would like to see Rodney Harrison get smacked in the head with a bag of dicks.

    ReplyDelete
  159. For the Hawks? He'll be lucky to get anywhere near half of that.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Pierce was ineffective and fumbled. Then Justin Forsett came in and did good. He's the starter now I bet.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I think he really just wanted to sell the Hawks and needed an excuse so he could dump it easily. Atlanta's a mediocre franchise in a transplant city that doesn't give a shit about it, so might as well find a surefire way to get it off your hands and get a payday.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I had the Iggs in my eliminator pool. I and probably 80% of people involved with one were shitting ourselves the first half.

    ReplyDelete
  163. I think its disgusting and embarrassing that we live in a society where that email equals you lose your entire team, especially since that guy did an amazing job as owner. But I guess its what the majority wants...

    ReplyDelete
  164. It'd still be 1 billion more than he's used to.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Sigh...Team Hell No should have never broken up. Even if they stopped teaming, they could go their separate ways and still be friends. I miss that kind of consistency in storylines as you know it would have been kept up with in the Attitude Era.

    ReplyDelete
  166. My Browns came up short today but gave me hope. They really perked up in the second half after a brutal start.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Lloyd is a pussy.

Haven't seen someone so afraid of getting hit than him in a long time

    ReplyDelete
  168. It's not something I'd want to watch all the time, but seeing them grapple, fight to get leverage, the European uppercuts, Cesaro's strength being nullified by the nerve blows to the arms, Cesaro stomping on Regal's head then looking like he regretted it... was all so different and engrossing. Talk about a match telling a story.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Lol them and the Steelers on Thursday should be a shitshow

    ReplyDelete
  170. He had that team humming though. Atlanta has spent money and had a good team for like 10 straight years. Its just an awful pro sports market

    ReplyDelete
  171. Not racist, our country just loves a good public shaming/ any out of context reason will suffice IMO

    ReplyDelete
  172. The Steelers started really well, but by the end, I'm still seeing 8-8

    ReplyDelete
  173. It's a timing thing. Two years ago, that e-mail is one of many that flies under the radar, maybe gets a note on a website with no credibility, and gets ignored.

    Now? Not so "lucky".

  174. Let's see if Carrie Underwood has gotten hotter this year. She's a downgrade from Faith IMO.

  175. Yes. Usually, post-WM is supposed to be a big-time push for a talent like Cesaro after a strong WM showing. But nope, that didn't happen.

I wonder if there's any backstage reasons. Is he arrogant in the locker room? Did he work stiff with someone with some stroke? Did he not shake the right person's hand? Did he also slap the social media guy after he made a derisive comment about Switzerland's neutrality or banking practices?

  176. They've been good, not great and haven't had a big star since Dominique Wilkins and Moses Malone.

  177. He said some borderline things, but he's more guilty of being a tone-deaf idiot than anything else. With the embarrassment over Sterling the league can't let this go.

  178. I just showed my girl King Diamond's Abigail, she enjoyed.

If I ever meet Daniel Bryan, I may want to for picture purpose whip a toy belt version of that title and yell in his face, "I am the tag team champions!"

  180. They absolutely should but hey the mob wants blood so I guess now we give it to them lol

  182. So Papa John's has a special here in New York that when the Yankees score 6 or more runs in a game, the next day you can get 50% off your order... looks like Papa has made out pretty well on that deal.

  183. Enjoy every moment, kid!

  184. Indians have that too but with 5 runs lol

  185. I'd trade anything for that kind of sustained goodness for my team.

  186. I also prefer Faith's rendition of the song. They're both attractive although I REALLY like Carrie Underwood.

  187. We get half off if the Cards just win. I'm surprised Papa John's is so tight with the discounts in the NY market.

  188. Gallantly fighting back from 24 points down to tie and then losing on a last minute feild goal seems like a very Browns way to lose a game.

  189. At least Carrie is wearing skimpier clothes this year

  190. It didn't make sense to me either.
