also your match may get more hits if you didnt have Sparky v AJ Smiles. It should be Marky v AJ Styles. just saying you'd have more than 15 hits and more ppl seeing your work.
That's probably pretty close give or take 48 bucks. This is a hard business. It isn't all glamour and pyro. Sometimes you wrestle a never was in front of 126 people for $280. It's the nature of the beast. His opponent probably got $75.
Ah ok, it's Marky. Now I get it. Cause the post didn't say who Styles was facing, and neither did the Youtube title. ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BE PSYCHIC HERE DARN IT??
Ok, meltdown over. That was pretty cool, *thumbs up*
What ever happened to that one dude from pwa, used to be Tyson kidds tag partner or something. Scotsmans friend, wore a Scott Keith shirt to one of his matches
If he was stiff and dangerous then that explains it. I thought his work looked good for being midcard if nothing else. Better than some of the guys that were getting pushed.
I saw Savio wrestle a few times at local events in recent years, and he's still nimble for a 50-year-old. He wrestled this local guy named Patch (named because he looks like a degenerated Jacques Rougeau in an eye patch, seriously), and Vega hit this gory bladejob that caked his entire face, and was water-falling over the back of his head. Vega would win by DQ when Little Guido ran interference. Ahhh, independent wrestling.....
Boy, they sure weren't going for atmosphere on these 1995 RAW's. I've lived in Ohio my entire life and I had to go to Wikipedia to find out where Struthers is (spoiler: it's a Youngstown suburb). Nothing against the town, but not exactly where you want to have your flagship program taped. Seriously, they must have been in a high school or something.
He wanted to build to a rematch. Why job the guy responsible for the publicity that house show got in the first match instead of screwjob finish and then Diesel goes over the second time around and milk the money from the locals?
If the original emailer is here....really awesome finish, nice work eating the styles clash, looked like a heavy landing. I don't really like the way you transition into head locks, looks stilted, but good althleticism and smoothness for the most part. ***
Ug have to go to work and miss most of the first football Sunday of the year. Fortunately the Giants are playing tomorrow so I feel alright I'm gonna take on the world!
Is that actually true or is that an urban myth? I've heard more than one person say that a.) Vince pushed for the gimmick precisely because he'd seen POTC, and b.) Wednesday night for Vince was (is?) traditionally Movie Night with Linda.
Thanks for all the positive feed back everyone! The reason the uploader didn't call it Marky vs AJ Styles is because he's still selling copies of the DVDs at shows and just wanted to give me a hidden link for me to pass out to my friends.
Also one of the best guys I've ever met. Sat down with me for an hour after the match. I learned more in that 1 hour then I did in the last 10 years in the business.
Thanks man, AJ was a little worried about the Styles Clash cause it was right after someone in Scotland took it wrong and broke their neck. I just laughed and asked if we could do it off the middle rope :)
I'm a legit 175! :) But I know, I've been hitting the gym hard and trying to eat... well just more in general lol I did put on 20 pounds last year so I'm getting there! I think it was my improvements in look that got me this match to be honest.
I'm pretty sure Meltz broke it down on the show once. AJ was either $1500 or $2000 per show, I think the former.. Dave sat there and did the math on 3 shows per weekend for a full year, minus traveling costs, against his guaranteed TNA contract, merch included, etc, etc, etc.
He's the Meltz, the shows are worth scaling the paywall..
It was obvious that Captain's team was going to get the win cause a rookie was on the other team. I've never seen a rookie beat anyone other then another rookie ever. Also captain's finisher is called the Caribbean Death Grip.
Not at all. Like I said. I dgaf if you masturbate to muracos posts or slit your wrists to them. What i care about is people that enjoy things getting to enjoy them and the people that don't simply not click on them. How hard is that for you tools to understand?
Other posters brought up the issue of there being too many posts and the main site getting clogged.
Scott even joined in and addressed the issue of quality control.
So it's natural we bring up limiting who can write for the site. Dock Muraco has at times been admittedly trolling in his columns and the Benoit thing was ridiculous. So it's only natural I express my opinion that I don't think he should write anymore.
Just because you want to write for the site doesn't mean you should write for the site.
Meekin is another one who should have his posting privileges revoked.
Dude, you don't gain profits or run the site. You are a reader for the site that Scott runs. Obviously, he knows better than you. If he sees fit to have Charles fucking Manson write for the site about bathing in children's blood then that's what you will either read or not click. He has run this site and gained readers based on his thought of what will make a good site. If you want to start a site you can have whoever you want write for it.
Nobody should be allowed to express their opinion since we have no say.
Got it.
Scott made a post about quality control so it's only natural people would chime in and offer thoughts.
As you said, Scott could have Charles Manson writing a column (I'd probably read it!) but he wouldn't want to alienate his readers and drive them away from the site.
The point is you don't like something therefore you think it shouldn't be viewed by anyone. Claiming there's any other point is disingenuous and you know it.
I am just spouting my opinion. If Scott doesn't remove Dock Muraco, that's his call. If he doesn't remove Meekin, that's his call and he's making a huge mistake.
If Scott is going to have other people write for the site, there should be some sort of quality control, because it could start to turn people off the site.
People who write just to troll, like Dock Muraco admittedly does, should not be given this forum to do it in.
Scott's method of quality control should not be up to you. Your concern of people turning off the site, also not up to you. There have been tens of comments praising this review, so saying he writes just to troll is wrong and a lie.
Well then if that's the case, many people enjoy his form of trolling (aka writing legit puro reviews) so why do you think your lonely opinion supersedes many other people's enjoyment.
I did think Lawler did wrestle Taker sometime in 1995-96 during his "let us squash Lawler" phase. I think King even got a title shot against Shawn, but its not like Lawler was ever booked as a legit credible legend or anything.
I wonder how match an indy like PWA would have to pay Styles for a match??
ReplyDelete$280
ReplyDeletealso your match may get more hits if you didnt have Sparky v AJ Smiles. It should be Marky v AJ Styles. just saying you'd have more than 15 hits and more ppl seeing your work.
ReplyDeletedef more than that lol.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably pretty close give or take 48 bucks. This is a hard business. It isn't all glamour and pyro. Sometimes you wrestle a never was in front of 126 people for $280. It's the nature of the beast. His opponent probably got $75.

randy the ram style huh. but this is in canada. 280 wouldnt cover his plane ticket.
ReplyDeleteVery good match ***1/2. Top rope styles clash was tight!
ReplyDeletehaha, but you this aj smiles vs sparky match was good. i gave it 3 and a half stars. Sparky looks like he can afford to add a few lbs though.
ReplyDeleteShut up
ReplyDeleteWhy are you repeating yourself? Are you his manager?
ReplyDeleteWell your no fun. I don't want to play with you.
ReplyDeleteHe needs to get advice from Steen then, LULZFAT
ReplyDeleteits my tourettes brah.
ReplyDeleteYou were close though.
ReplyDeleteWhat ever happened to that one dude from pwa, used to be Tyson kidds tag partner or something. Scotsmans friend, wore a Scott Keith shirt to one of his matches
ReplyDeleteOh THAT'S right. Lawler recruited a wannabe republican senator. My bad...my bad.
ReplyDeleteWhat was his name again? Smarky Smark or something like that?
ReplyDeleteit is i guess.
ReplyDeleteIf he was stiff and dangerous then that explains it. I thought his work looked good for being midcard if nothing else. Better than some of the guys that were getting pushed.

ReplyDeleteLinda McMahon???
ReplyDeleteNo way bro. If other douche don't like it, your opinion is mute and not worthy
ReplyDeleteTroll fag
ReplyDeleteNo one likes these reviews apparently. What you like doesn't matter. Only those who oppose this count.
ReplyDeleteYou're the reason I'm pro comment revoking privileges.
ReplyDeleteHOROWITZ WINS! HOROWITZ WINS!.... whoops, that's still a few months away.
ReplyDeleteHe wanted to build to a rematch. Why job the guy responsible for the publicity that house show got in the first match instead of screwjob finish and then Diesel goes over the second time around and milk the money from the locals?
ReplyDeleteHis reviews are the only way I can keep up with NJPW. He needs to really tighten them up, but I'm good with this.
ReplyDeleteIf the original emailer is here....really awesome finish, nice work eating the styles clash, looked like a heavy landing. I don't really like the way you transition into head locks, looks stilted, but good althleticism and smoothness for the most part. ***
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out the main event. Was this an Ippv
ReplyDeleteNo people, this guy is not an alt account of mine.
ReplyDeleteSorry, NoCash, didn't see your almost identical post below before I posted this. But, you know, great minds...
ReplyDeleteO-H!....
And Kwang was the genius gimmick??!!
ReplyDeleteStyles never has bad matches. This one no exception
ReplyDeleteTV I think, they do these b- show once in while.
ReplyDeleteUg have to go to work and miss most of the first football Sunday of the year. Fortunately the Giants are playing tomorrow so I feel alright I'm gonna take on the world!
ReplyDeleteIt's the Blog Of Doom, don't over-react to the people who don't like it or you'll implode.
ReplyDeleteNot that imploding on this site isn't entertaining, but come on.
Vince is just super annoying in this period. He's trying way too hard to put this stuff over.
ReplyDeleteAJ Smiles.
ReplyDeleteKARATE FIGHHTEEERSSSS!!!
ReplyDeleteIs that actually true or is that an urban myth? I've heard more than one person say that a.) Vince pushed for the gimmick precisely because he'd seen POTC, and b.) Wednesday night for Vince was (is?) traditionally Movie Night with Linda.
ReplyDeleteGood lord though that feud dragged in forever. I think it ended late last year actually...
ReplyDeleteWhen Sparky came out, I assumed it was going to be a guy dressed as Spanky vs. a guy dressed as AJ Styles.
ReplyDeleteThis is the stupidest shirt since the Stephanie McMahon one (which took the throne from the Heyman Guy shirt).
ReplyDeleteAnd Goldberg didn't have any tears in his eyes from working with Bret. And Goldberg never came to Bret's hotel room.
ReplyDeleteGood match
ReplyDeleteGet ready to smile.
ReplyDeleteI was just a kid and even I noticed how weird it was and how the Bulldog/Owen match seemed so out of place from the rest of the show.
ReplyDeleteNo man. I can't complete this. Not after yesterday. Too soon.
ReplyDeletei...o. (sniff)
Man - the timekeeper thing is awful
ReplyDeleteI'd bet AJ got 90% of the payout for all wrestlers on that show.
ReplyDeletenot undeservedly either.
Yeah, especially since probably 90% of the crowd was there to see Styles.
ReplyDeleteStill more than TNA probably paid him.
ReplyDeleteMain event sounds fun, I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteSo basically watch this show for Sunny and that's it?
ReplyDeleteYou didn't watch the product back then did you?
ReplyDeleteOh cool, glad it's just not a PPV exclusive.
ReplyDeleteBullet Blub?
ReplyDeleteLittle much, you say that in the forum, Cult will band you.
ReplyDeleteSaw the ME match, ***1/2. It's clear they wanna build HASHI as a underdog against Yujiro, so far the crowd seems to accept the encounter.
ReplyDeleteThat's Barry Horriblewitz, thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteAt least we didn't had to see his baby face. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the positive feed back everyone! The reason the uploader didn't call it Marky vs AJ Styles is because he's still selling copies of the DVDs at shows and just wanted to give me a hidden link for me to pass out to my friends.

ReplyDeleteYeah that's me. Formerly Marky Mark now just Marky.
ReplyDeleteThanks man
ReplyDeleteI'm a legit 175! :) But I know, I've been hitting the gym hard and trying to eat... well just more in general lol I did put on 20 pounds last year so I'm getting there! I think it was my improvements in look that got me this match to be honest.
ReplyDeletecool man. you were just over as AJ (for my money best wrestler in the world atm). Good match too.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone? There were like 8 people in the crowd, the main was a PPV dark match from a while ago......dear lord, early 90s wrestling stunk.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't possibly know what you are referring to here. This thing is spotless, I swear.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great angle but I hated how they suddenly made Barry turn into Jamison for no reason.
ReplyDeleteTV special. Like a Survivor Series Showdown type. Next show is "Blue Justice V"
ReplyDeleteWhat a crap gimmick. Blatant Muta ripoff. Didn't he even spit mist a few times?
ReplyDeleteHe was in great shape until the quad tear. I'm not an expert on roids, but I have heard you really get bloated once you stop working out.
ReplyDeleteI was just joking, I was meaning Sunny was the ONLY reason to watch during that time period.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. That had to be like being in the ring with a superstar! And it was a really good match! This is so cool!
ReplyDeleteWierd parrel universe is Steve McMichael on Raw. Since I didn't watch Raw in 1995 and only knew Mongo from WCW.
ReplyDeleteMongo on Raw is weird. He was drunk, and seemingly tried to put his arm around Vince when he took his seat.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Meltz broke it down on the show once. AJ was either $1500 or $2000 per show, I think the former.. Dave sat there and did the math on 3 shows per weekend for a full year, minus traveling costs, against his guaranteed TNA contract, merch included, etc, etc, etc.

ReplyDeleteYou seem to very much give a fuck. If you don't like what I'm saying about Muraco, why are you reading the comments section.
ReplyDeleteHow hard is it for you to understand?
I care about the thought process and pomposity behind wanting something you don't like to be removed vs. Something more than one person enjoys.
ReplyDeleteYou also called someone a troll fag. You're a one man Algonquin roundtable
ReplyDeleteTroll fags are trolls. You included
ReplyDeleteOther posters brought up the issue of there being too many posts and the main site getting clogged.

ReplyDeleteTo think you know better than Scott is pompous at best.
ReplyDeleteI never said that.
ReplyDeleteYour continued insistence on missing the point is a stunning achievement.
ReplyDeleteTroll fag?
Scott decides who has privileges. You think your idea of what is better holds more weight.
ReplyDeleteNobody should be allowed to express their opinion since we have no say.
ReplyDeleteGot it.
Scott made a post about quality control so it's only natural people would chime in and offer thoughts.

ReplyDeleteOpinion is one thing. Attempting to get something removed is another.
ReplyDeleteNot at all. I have laid out why Dock Muraco should not be allowed to post. I think the some of Meekin. Others have chimed in and said the same thing.
ReplyDeleteI want the Saints defensive coordinator fired right now. Oh no, complaining about something I can't do anything about!
I am just spouting my opinion. If Scott doesn't remove Dock Muraco, that's his call. If he doesn't remove Meekin, that's his call and he's making a huge mistake.
ReplyDeleteRead that first fucking sentence. It's entitlement is unreal.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you so filled with anger?
ReplyDeleteIf Scott is going to have other people write for the site, there should be some sort of quality control, because it could start to turn people off the site.

ReplyDeleteAh, you're right! The old Hideo Saito finisher...
ReplyDeleteHe admitted he was trolling in one of his prior reviews.
ReplyDeleteScott is the one who posted about it. We have a comments section. I commented. It's a magical world we live in.
ReplyDeleteWell then if that's the case, many people enjoy his form of trolling (aka writing legit puro reviews) so why do you think your lonely opinion supersedes many other people's enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteI don't!
ReplyDeleteThen stop clicking the fucking muraco post and enjoy the blog!
ReplyDeleteIf Scott is gonna post about quality control and ways to limit posts, I'm going to contribute my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIf he wants to keep Muraco and his trolling, so be it.
Hooray for rote PBP instead of actual analysis and criticism.
I did think Lawler did wrestle Taker sometime in 1995-96 during his "let us squash Lawler" phase. I think King even got a title shot against Shawn, but its not like Lawler was ever booked as a legit credible legend or anything.
ReplyDeleteIt started when he blew out his knee around Fall 98, when he came back he was bigger, then the quad, he gained a letter in his name, HHHH.
ReplyDeleteThe best sign at the Des Moines Raw I attended on monday, "I'm a $9.99 guy".
ReplyDeleteYou do realize you lumped in 1990-1992 WCW by saying that right?
ReplyDeleteBash 91.
ReplyDeleteStanding by my statement.
SB91, WR91, Havoc91. I stand by mine
ReplyDelete
