WWE Extras Pay Rate

Reddit user MetsFan4Ever, a former WWE backstage worker, is disputing the WON report that WWE cut its pay rate for extras. The Observer reported pay was cut from $250 to $100 but the Reddit user says this is false and the pay for independent wrestlers and extras was only cut by $50, and talent now gets $200. He also noted that people who appear as Adam Rose‘s Rosebuds at live events receive $100.

  4. Well, that sucks.

    (Not his appearance on TPIR.)

    ReplyDelete
  5. Anyone else get no sound with the video?

    ReplyDelete
  6. How great would it be to be some random guy and get $100 to run out with Adam Rose.

    ReplyDelete
  7. What the hell does part inspirational and part instructional mean?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I was not aware that nXt did house shows. I thought they just did the Thursday night TV and trained during the week.

    ReplyDelete
  9. He wants to offer instruction AND inspiration to the reader.

Update: brian Bayless is currently packing his luggage (Neiman Marcus), but is debating whether or not to pack his toothpaste. No...wait.....YES! He is definitely packing his toothpaste.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Just checked it again and it's working fine here.

    ReplyDelete
  12. We've literally seen most of those matches on free TV in the last few weeks! Looking forward to Ambrose/Rollins and Cesaro/Ziggler, and that's it

    ReplyDelete
  13. Other than the rose buds what extras do they even use?

    ReplyDelete
  14. "Security Guards"

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ah yes, a PG Rick Rude..

    Cut the music!

What I'd like to have right now is for all you fat, out of shape PITTSBURGH POOPYHEADS to keep the noise down while I take my robe off and show the ladies how a real man enjoys a Diet Mountain Dew! Hit the music!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Then Jericho or whoever can show up and be all like "We all know the only Mountain Dew you enjoy... is the Brokeback variety!" before revealing compromising photos of him hanging out with Darren Young backstage

    ReplyDelete
  17. Now, see, that's in an entirely different order and I don't think that represents the creator's stated intent.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I may be overly naive, but is Ziggler sloowwlllyyy getting out of the WWE dog house? He's been winning more matches, won the IC title (which I admit doesn't mean much), and he has a PPV title defense. I think there's a chance that WWE is slowly starting to trust him again. All he needs to do is:

    1- Keep his mouth shut
    2- Stay injury free
    3- Keep his mouth shut
4- Listen to management a bit more, whether he agrees or not
    5- Keep his mouth shut.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Pretty fucking great!

I'd get to share a smidgen of the spotlight with THE BUNNY!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I want the lemon outfit please!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think Ziggler's injury-prone rep is unfair. Of course he needs to stay injury-free but Ryback gave him that last big concussion. For someone who bumps like Hennig, Dolph has been pretty healthy for the most part.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He's lost three times in a row on TV

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oops!! I guess the PPV will say a lot about my theory though. (at the very least, it's 2 guys I like, so someone HAS to win... *cue double DQ* )

    ReplyDelete
  24. There's such a fine line in WWE. Guys like Austin and Jim Ross say that you should agitate and speak your mind if you want to be a top guy as Vince reportedly likes guys who are ballsy. But if you do speak up, you get punished and your push gets squashed (as do you consequently in TV matches). And if you don't speak your mind, you stay like Kofi, always in the same spot and spinning your wheels in mid-carder/JTTS purgatory.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well, speaking up about your push is one thing, but trashing one of their projects that you have nothing to do with, that was pretty stupid. Like if you were a PR guy for Mcdonalds, and said "our new burger sucks, don't bother".

If you don't like the show, LIE.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Orton vs Cena is just...fuck it I don't even know what to say, do they have to work at least one ppv match per year or something?

On the other hand a Ziggler vs Cesaro and Ambrose vs Rollins match make this a must see ppv, certainly a better show than the alleged loaded to get sub's Night of Champions show. I'll actually watch this. I haven't watched a network new ppv since MITB but I'll catch this one (I would have watched summerslam on it but I went to the show).

    ReplyDelete
  27. Who the fuck is Justin Roberts?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Gotta agree with you there. And yeah, I do think that Dolph is slowly getting out of the doghouse. Sure, he's lost some matches but I think he's featured more prominently. That dude is over with the audience and not many guys are.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You've been looking at and listening to him pretty much every time you watched WWE over the last 15 years

    ReplyDelete
  30. He was also known to ruffle top guys' feathers while going through new Divas. Ziggler is a cocksman (he doesn't brag about it) but the boys didn't like it and punished him for it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It looks like a solid episode of Raw.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The concussion that forced him to give up the world title apparently came b/c Swagger kicked him full-force in the head. Getting concussed b/c a 270lbs guy kicked you in the head isn't being injury prone, that's called being a human being.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I caught the Mizdow as Sheamus skit on mute TV at a bar, and I was laughing my butt off. Sandow is just AWESOME.

    ReplyDelete
  34. There's a difference between going up to McMahon and saying an angle is stupid and going on Twitter.

    ReplyDelete
  35. His asshole told him.

    ReplyDelete
  36. He made an impressive impact!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Totally 100% agree. Ziggler was in trouble because he was critiquing the company publicly. Go to Vince and tell him you don't like your direction. Don't tweet about it or call other thing shitty....even if you are right.

    ReplyDelete
  38. When seen at a glance whilst drunk with the sound off, Raw probably seems like the greatest TV show there ever was.

    ReplyDelete
  39. He's that guy.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Comedian Amy Schumer used to date him, and said he was "too athletic" in the bedroom for her. Guy gets shit done.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It's well documented on many podcasts (as well as backstage sources). Unlike Punk and Batista, Ziggler kept it private. The top guys didn't like that someone lower than them was doing this type of stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  42. "Now, now, I DISPUTE that extras are only getting $100!!! WHAT ABSOLUTE HOGWASH!!!! They make $200, I'll have you know!!!"

    :\

    ReplyDelete
  43. I.... I might not be able to argue that.....

    ReplyDelete
  44. Any specific podcast/backstage sources?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just look at that shit-eating grin of his. That's all the source we need.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I just assumed that we were talking about Nintendo Zelda.

    ReplyDelete
  47. BeardMoney, one step closer to getting his own column!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Doesn't the Zoe or Zelda question refer to BoJack Horseman?

    ReplyDelete
  49. It does. Might have been too soon for that reference, but I was just coming out of a pretty intense binge-watch session. If you haven't seen that show yet, see it--trust me.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yes! Seeing this here is a total day-maker, thanks Scott!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh, I have. I recently watched all of Season 1. BoJack, to me, is one of the best cartoon sitcoms to ever come out. It's funny, yet has a beautiful and bleak darkness to it. I can't wait for Season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I feel kind of bad that it didn't go there, but I had a really specific vision for this.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Right on! BoJack is such a gloriously sympathetic idiot. I love the scenes where he demonstrates he simply has no clue how subtlety works, like the flashback from his show where he can't understand how he winds up in the ugly Christmas sweater after explicitly saying he would never wear it.

    ReplyDelete
  54. On the bright side, for there to be that much hate, there has to be some love beneath it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. no , he turned to porn before that. remember when he wore pjs in the ring and was singing Barry White

    ReplyDelete
  56. I followed the link to be certain it was that particular clip.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I shouldn't have given the Sheik my number..
