"What's so great about that??!!" Love it. I've been thinking Cole's 2014 work is the best of his career (and enjoying the heck out of it), but JR is still the best. He's still the voice I most associate with WWE.

  49. I had mine cancelled because the CC I was using was maxed out. I didn't bother to fix the issue. I've missed it. I think about it from time to time, but I don't need it. What a need to do is get a VCR hooked up and start researching the old tape collection.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Bret/Owen probably wins, but Bryan/Triple H should be a Top 5 inclusion at the very least.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ring work+historic impact+crowd+story+announcing= my magic formula.

    ReplyDelete
  56. That card was worth over $10,000.

Took a sick day Wednesday so I volunteered to come in tomorrow, so I get to wake up at 6:30 on a Saturday. At least I can have a multi-screen setup for college football in my cubicle, and to quote Matt Damon in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, "think about the paycheck".

    ReplyDelete
  64. I just subscribed this week, so I'm in the opposite camp. I might tap out the available vault by Christmas; the Network as a concept leaves so much on the table.

    ReplyDelete
  65. #1 or #2. I could go either say Bryan/HHH or Bret/Owen for #1. Rockers vs Twin Towers is #3.

I wonder if any people went into a rage over the use of Comic Sans in the title

    ReplyDelete
  105. what kind of gun is it? Like a super soaker? Is it cool?

    ReplyDelete
  106. I've got Harvin on my fantasy team. And since the Jets played yesterday he's not gonna help me tomorrow. And now he's got Geno as his QB. dammit.

    ReplyDelete
  107. ...that is so weird to say. I met this girl on Tinder last night... the only thing in her profile was "I hate the font comic sans"... is this like a thing people complain about regularly?

    ReplyDelete
  108. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 17, 2014 at 6:00 PM

I'm listening to a Judas Priest song that I'm pretty would never be played in a Chick Fil A if they listened carefully

    ReplyDelete
  109. Guess what, the girl is now wanting me back. Women.

    ReplyDelete
  110. The #1 way to get most women to want you... is to not want them... they are deranged like that.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I've personalised all my PC's that I've owned to use comic sans as the default font. It looks fine at a small size. People who get angry about it have too much lead in their water supply.

    Apparently it is, actually.

Some people take it seriously. Personally, even.

    ReplyDelete
  115. THEY love it when you ignore them.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Question: Who are the top five most undeserving main event level wrestlers in modern (1984-Present) history? Caveat: we're not talking about people who had a cup of coffee for a single match on a spot show, or who participated in a battle royal or Rumble, or someone who closed out shows that were headlined by bigger matches (ala the old throwaway tag matches that would close out shows in the '80s). They have to have had dedicated runs over multiple shows (or years) as either the top talent in a company or a featured main event star.

    1. Jeff Jarrett (WCW, 1999-2001)
    2. The Miz (WWE, 2010-2011)
    3. Diesel (WWE, 1994-1995)
    4. Sheamus (WWE, 2009-2010)
    5. Triple H (WWE, 2002-2004)

    ReplyDelete
  119. You know what? At the time, I hate Jeff Jarrett. Thought he was a total joke and couldn't stand to even look at him on tv. Now honestly, going back and watching so much of shit just by watching random network ppvs since Feburary, I'm a big fan. Jarrett was good.

    ReplyDelete
  130. The reason I didn't go Hogan is because his popularity during his headlining years in the WWF generally warrant his positioning near the top. I could have easily gone for a few of his WCW years, most notably 1995 and maybe 1999.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Holy shit, just saw the trade, wow.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 17, 2014 at 6:13 PM

No one thinks about it, but Vince was really bringing in the oWn to give a lethal dose of poison to the WWF in early '02.

"nWo" on the back of the chair was displayed *in the mirror*

    So, you know.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I don't think I would go that far. Some guys have their station in life, and Jarrett's was in the midcard, maybe occasionally an upper card heel for a cup of coffee. He was a solid worker who could have great matches with the right opponents, but didn't have the skill to elevate someone to greatness that you want to see out of your true top talents. He was okay on the microphone, but there was nothing really special about his characterization. To me, his peak as a performer in the business was at In Your House against Shawn Michaels, and he never really surpassed that, no matter how many promotions he tried to build.

    ReplyDelete

  152. Match that Scott or the IWC doesn't give very much love to but you think is the bees knees? Ones I can think of: Mysterio - Kurt Angle from an early 2000s ppv and Malenko- Ultimo from Starrcade 1996

I'd say Ambrose vs. Rollins in a Dog Collar match.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Was there anything cooler in the early 90's than a comic book store that had arcade games in it? Because I remember that was pretty fucking sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  157. That is exactly where I went tonight with this female... a comic book shop with arcade games.

    Well, it's obvious she's a gobbler

    ReplyDelete
  162. Triple H/Undertaker from WrestleMania X-Seven; I think it's aged much better than a lot of people give it credit for, though it's not up to their WM 27/28 level. It's still a decent deal, and is far better than Scott gave it credit for when rating the match originally.

    ReplyDelete
  163. I gamble and am knowledgeable on college

Im not playing either game tonight, but in your case id take the Temple +8 1/2 (which is the line im seeing)

Both teams have "good" defenses so the under is the more safe play, but if you are just doing spread id take Temple covering

    ReplyDelete
  164. Gunther the Nasty LoserOctober 17, 2014 at 6:17 PM

I always associate arcade games either with stand alones or next to movie theaters

    Or Putt Putt

    ReplyDelete
  165. We had no comic book stores around where I lived; the closest one was like an hour away in Monroe that I knew of, though I damn-near camped in the store in Boone on our mountain trips back in the day.

  166. I don't gamble but I play on ESPN Streak for the Cash and it has Temple Win or Loss by Double Digits vs. House Win by Double Digits.

  167. Glad to know they are still around. The one in my town back in the day was the shit.

  168. They aren't really, this is a kind of unique thing.

So a lot of you guys will appreciate this 'cause we're old fogeys, but going to movies in the 80's was simply more of a special thing

I subscribe to a bunch of 80's nostalgia pages on FB, and one of them showed the Beverly Hills Cop II poster, and it really struck me how even the posters, the feels, the marketing all seemed so much more special back then

  177. Dog Collar Match is such an obscure choice, but a good one. I'd caution you though that I can think of only two good matches in modern history that used an (Insert Chain/Strap variant) here that were any good: one was Piper/Valentine, the other Vader/Sting.

  178. I was still too little to get the movies by myself then. 90's movie nostaglia is cooler imo

  181. I wouldn't say fancy... just kind of a novelty thing. She liked it fine I think (it was her idea)... I just didn't feel like we really connected. I'll probably take another shot at it in a few days but its probably a dead end.

  183. I stand by my original point, mostly because I don't remember the match you're alluding to there.
