October Classics - The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels - Badd Blood 10/5/97

We've seen it many times, but does that make it any less awesome?

Comments

  1. I don't think any match has ever had higher replay value for me.

Who was that who interfered at the end?

  3. Some amazing storytelling in this one.

  4. GOAT contender right here. People love the Steamboat/Flair trilogy in 89 but I'll take the holy trinity of Taker/Shawn HIAC and their WM matches.

  5. No other HiaC has touched this one

  7. Why, why, that's gotta be KANE!!!

  8. Hope the Cell match this month will be good whether it's Cena vs Rollins, Ambrose vs Rollins, or both vs Rollins.

  9. And suffered long term head injuries.

I have no idea how Foley isn't a gibbering mess right now.

  10. Highspots got out of control after this and so it looks tame in comparison, but I thought that Michaels table bump was the most awesome thing I'd ever seen when this first took place.

  11. I miss this Era so much

  13. I watched Foley/Taker a few days ago for the first time in actually a very, very long time and from a technical standpoint it's so far off a lot of the great Cell matches, for obvious reasons. I don't even know how to rate it if I'd be so inclined to try. But it's one of the most compelling, amazing things I've ever seen, wrestling or otherwise. So I'd say Foley made the right decision even at the risk of his health, because 16 years later it's still rightfully talked about, and will be for a long time to come.

  14. Whats the readership like on these reviews? I just can't see the appeal.

  15. I echo the rest of the love the BODers are giving this one. One of the all-time great combinations of action, storytelling, and booking.
It's crazy to think this might only be their third best match...

  16. it's not a match but rather a spectacle. Impossible to rate as a wrestling match but five stars as a spectacle.

  17. KOTR 98 doesn't get enough love in terms of its storytelling. People just think it's a spotfest.

  18. Brilliant blade job from Michaels. He was the best at hiding it.

  19. Less awesome due to continuous views? Absolutely not. This match has aged well and it remains my favorite match of all time.

  21. I was thinking herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage as a treatment not for relaxation (all of which have eastern roots) and chiropractic medicine (which it turns out has western roots, go figure). Of these, I tried massage and chiropractic medicine for the rotator cuff (and also a back injury), I've tried herbs for a few things and not been that impressed and I have had acupuncture, however, it was in part to help someone with a story and I didn't feel any different after (though as I was not in need of treatment at the time that could be why).

  22. I applaud him being very involved in his health care decisions. My concern is that IF surgery is the answer for his condition(s), by putting it off he is possibly causing greater long term damage. Additionally, while I get that athletes subject themselves to a lot of pain on a daily basis, I cannot imagine wanting to be receiving the sharp shooting pains on a daily basis (something I remember clearly from my own injury years later) any longer than one has to.

  23. lol, that's hysterical, I didn't but now I would if I rewatched that. A cashier at the grocery store we frequent most has We the People as a huge arm tattoo, I've considered asking him if he's a wrestling fan, but I think he's just into certain parts of the constitution, my guess is the Second Amendment.
