Reprimand This!

Bob Geigel's passing at 90 probably isn't going to make the start of RAW or anything but the old time promoter did step from behind the booking sheets to help get even more heat on the Magnum T.A. - Nikita Koloff feud. Rest in Peace.

  1. It's a shame, but everyone dies. I don't see WWE acknowledging it.

  2. Geigel must have been the inspiration behind the principal from Back to the Future.

  3. I'm glad Magnum has a great life, career and business outside of the ring -- but I wished this guy had made it out of the 1980's in one piece.

  5. Only the older, more diehard fan would even know who this guy is. I remember him running the Kansas City territory when I first started reading the Apter mags. This triggered the memory of the NWA once being the Cosa Nostra of wrestling before Vince wiped them out.

  6. Heard Magnum stiffed him cause he didn't pay people

  7. Did they acknowledge Ox Baker? Ox at least had some mainstream pub (Escape From New York, plus he was on The Price is Right), but most folks will have to google Bob.

He MIGHT get an "In Memory of" to start Raw, but I wouldn't bet cash on it.

  8. My last pay <-check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My neighbour's sister has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out..

  10. Now that's how you use an onscreen authority figure, to set up matches between wrestlers.

So just for the hell of it I Googled Nikita Koloff. Two thoughts...holy crap he was jacked back in the day, and 2 he looks pretty good these days. Not old or beaten down or anything. Good for him.

  14. His career was basically about 10 years.

  15. It's weird that Geigel got onto Magnum about what happened at the contract signing. Nikita and Uncle Ivan were the ones being unprofessional and Magnum had been pushed too far. As a kid, I thought this angle was awesome.

  18. Central States was the dullest promotion I've seen, at least it was back in the early 80's. Most of the wrestlers looked like your friend's dad if he was 10 years older. It was like they were stuck in the late 50's. Harley would show up now and then, but otherwise it was Bulldog Bob Brown and Rufus R. "Freight Train" Jones.

I do remember shawn and marty being their for a week or two when they were the "Midnight Rockers". I wish they had the nerve to name the team "The Wild Fantastic Midnight Rockers RPM Bulldog Warriors" if you're gonna steal, steal.

  19. I'll end up reading Hornbaker's NWA history again one of these days, if I read it soon enough I'll have to see what mention Geigel got in it.

  20. Most of the stories I've heard about him were about how thrifty he was

It wasn't that bad. They didn't go extreme with the silliness and it worked well enough.

  22. yea i agree with you about having a roster full of people and not using them and jobbing champs when the belts have to have more meaning without the WHC. It pisses me off when I was watching total divas and they keep showing tyson kidd at raw just chilling.

  23. ahhh when secondary titles actually meant something!

  24. and thats canadian dollars im assuming by the way he spelled neighbor.

  25. Central States was definitely training grounds; you look at their past champions and you'll see a lot of big names early in their careers. Kansas City was a minor league territory on your way up to the NWA's big stage, which was Mid Atlantic at the time.

  26. So Dolph beats Kane on Raw, then Kane beats him on Smackdown? OOPS!!

Good thing nobody watches Smackdown. *quietly walks away* :)

  27. Damn it, I don't have Pay Pal... So I will miss out on this great opportunity...

  30. Never saw him live as I grew up on wwf as a kid but really liked his work once I started watching 80s nwa stuff. Very surprised he never got a heel run against hogan. Seems like a natural fit

Sad thing is, Brie had the best costume of the night, and she wasn't even in the battle royal.
