Sporting News: WWE Announces "Limited" Advertising for WWE Network

  1. I think this complaining about the speed in uploading content is overblown. 100 Nitros....it would take me six months to watch all of that. However, I think there needs to be consistency with the schedule. Why not make Tuesdays ECW night? Or Wednesdays Mid-South night? For example, if you tune in at Tuesday at 8pm, you'll get something different each time.

  2. I would be fine with the slow speed of uploading if there was the SLIGHTEST bit of rhyme or reason to it.

  3. Maybe the new Cdo can estimate a timeframe for uploading 26 cartoons from the 80s.

  4. i would love for them stop with the black and white covering blood on new content.on vod.

  5. UFC Fight Pass does that, but they have a better, well-though out product.

  9. Not at all actually, the point is the only way I could pay them would be by offering free consultation "HEY GUYS CHECK YOUR SUBS" fuck that, I'm not getting a cut of anything.

I can still easily make judgements on their strategy (what you call complaining) not only because I could regardless of my subscription status, but because I'm an example of how fucking bad their model is in the first place.

Do I want them to succeed? Yes. Am I going to call them and offer my money when they seem ok with letting me get it free (HELLO Sirius and NHLNetwork and Cinemax since like 2002!) yes absolutely I'm ok with that. *Especially* since they still have valid credit card information that they seem not to care about!

Don't let my getting it free (jelly?) turn you from the great news you should be basking in, advertisements!

  10. An occasional ad here and there is fine but if they're still trying to get that 1.3 million subscriber number, just tape the freaking production meetings and put them on the Network already.

Problem solved and they'll get at least 2 million subscribers virtually overnight.

  11. No it wouldn't.

  12. People gotta complain. If they uploaded everything they'd complain about that too

  13. I don't have the network or want it in the first place, FYI.

If you're OK with taking advantage of their mistake and using their bandwidth while not financially contributing to the company, then that's your call, but that's a part of the reason they're adding these ads that have your asshole all irritated.

  14. Isn't all advertising limited?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm not actually irritated, where did you pick that up? My original post was laughing at the slavish fans on this blog repeatedly saying "Ads don't bother me! I love ads! I love Network! Whatever they need to do to make money off me is super duper!"

If anything I'm irritated at the self-righteous idiots in this thread acting like they wouldn't take the service for free if it was offered to them, as though anyone in the history of ever has said no to free shit.

  16. the only thing that could increase Network numbers is a better, more interesting current product. if the shows (and therefore also: the ppvs) feel more like they are "must-sees", the subscriptions are likely to go up.

  17. They show Sportscenter all day. I'm surprised they don't have a recap show constantly playing all day on WWE Network, considering how they love recaps.

  18. Exactly. We have every ppv, clash, snme and several years of raw and nitro plus lots of other stuff. I don't need anything else for a while. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Superstars or 1997 raw or Saturday Night get uploaded, but I'm perfectly content with what we have for now.

  19. Oscar Wilde said it in one of the emails he and Meekin used to exchange.
