The wyatt family

What possible reason could there be for breaking up the Wyatt Family?

Because WCW?  Really, Bray Wyatt is the only one they had any hopes for anyway, the other two were just gravy if they managed to get over.  At least they're still doing something with them instead of just giving them the "creative has nothing for you" pink slip.

  1. I want to see Bray bring in Bo. Then you could do something like Bray and Bo vs Harper and Rowan.

  2. We sure have a lack of imagination sometimes. "What possible reason?" Really? I don't know...fucking lots of them? You're saying you literally cannot imagine a scenario in which they should do this, before it even happens?

I'm not saying they won't fuck it up; most of wrestling history suggests a likely fuckup on, well, most things. But like Scott said, the group was a Bray vehicle, and in the process it looks like Harper made himself into a future star as well. If they can get anything out of Rowan, then hot dog.

  3. Team Harper with Ambrose and call them the Brawling Slobs.

  4. I'm excited to see Harper in a singes push as he was one of my favorite indy wrestlers. Bray will be fine as well. Rowan? Eh.

They should give Bray/Husky the Festus/Gallows treatment and say he was only like that because he was abusing pills. A great segue to bring back Punk.

    ALL PART OF THE PLAN

  6. I can't tell the difference between Rowan and Harper. They were like those goons in the old Batman that only existed to get beat up

  7. Jesse, is that you?

  8. I do think Bray needs some new followers though, if he's keeping his character the same. But if he turns face maybe he could call the fans his followers.

  9. The Wyatt Family has to be one of the biggest examples of wasted potential in years. They could have been the hottest heel act in a long time but they had ZERO clue what to do with them after the Cena feud.

  10. Um, really? They have pretty distinct looks.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Most thought splitting up the Shield was a bad idea but that turned out well. Bray could do well as a face and Harper could be a great top heel.

  12. They never seemed important enough to notice. Kinda like the divas.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Harper had some pretty great stand out performances I thought but to each his own.

    ReplyDelete
  14. At first I thought they were pretty indistinguishable too, but once I saw what Harper could do I became a fan of the guy.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yup, they were totally on their way to getting a pink slip. Good god this place.

    ReplyDelete
  16. In fairness I wouldn't be surprised if Rowan is eventually let go. Not anytime soon of course.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dude, he did not pin the top guy in the past decade clean! And he's just in his early to mid 20's, he ain't no spring chicken!! Can't you just accept that his career is OVAH?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'll admit that I don't pay much attention when they wrestle but when did Harper become such a smark darling?

    ReplyDelete
  19. From his emergence as one of the best big men wrestlers on the indy circuit from 2007 to 2011.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I've pitched this before, but given Harper's resemblance to Jason Lee, they should give him a My Name is Earl gimmick where he tries to right all the wrongs he did as part of the Wyatt family. Have Rowan play the Randy to Harper's Earl.

  21. Can Bray really do well as a face? What's he going to do come to the ring with a brown jug and smile next to Sheamus?

    ReplyDelete
  22. If i'm not mistaking, he was already an indy darling pre-wyatts.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ah, I see. Never heard of him before the E so I guess that is why the difference in feelings.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I know your pretty anti-WWE Danimal but come on.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Go to YouTube and type Brodie Lee vs to get some of his indy stuff. It's great.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm not anti WWE at all. I just don't know how anyone would have any faith in turning Bray into a viable face when they ruined such an easy upper Midgard heel character. He was already getting Husky Harris chants so you can't change his persona again. I don't see how Bray splits with the other Wyatt's and is a credible face. Knowing the WWE I would expect them to push him as a fun loving hill billy. Cue the brown jug and ho downs.

  27. Vince has probably just gotten round to watching the first season of that show too.

    ReplyDelete
  28. He was, but I never saw anything special in him to be honest until the Cena matches.

    ReplyDelete
  29. If they were interested in getting tag teams over, Rowan and Harper would have been a bigger deal.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Alright, I'll check em out

    ReplyDelete
  31. I want Husky Harris back!

    ReplyDelete
  32. And styles. I literally can't fathom someone not being able to tell them apart to be honest

    ReplyDelete
  33. You could argue the one guy the Shield break up hasn't helped is the one guy they really cared about.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Bray not winning the World Title at Money in the Bank and the other 2 getting 50/50 booked with the Usos killed the stable dead.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Such a shame. Bray is a really good actor, and can really really go in the ring. They had a really unique idea staring them in the face, with Bray being "actually" evil and recruiting people to his cult, but they pansied out and made him just another guy with long winded, repetitive (and now boring) promos. If they had just let him wrestle, they'd have another top guy, but instead, we're talking about him being virtually done.

I still like him, but they really found a creative way to kill a good idea.

  36. Them not getting those tag belts was so damn stupid

    ReplyDelete
  37. Splitting the Shield up was a bad idea at the time, because the lion's share of the heat could have gone to whoever finally managed to break them up after they ran roughshod over the roster for over a year.

Naturally, it just had to be HHH, because HHH always has to win, both in the ring and outside of it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Haven't seen that match in a while. Good stuff

    ReplyDelete
  39. Eh, too soon for world champ Bray Wyatt, but goddamn, I will never understand having Harper and Rowan blow like 9,000 title shots in a row.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Final fantasy booking?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think the person who actually physically ended the team (in this case Rollins) would get the most heat, and that's the way it seems to have worked out. HHH is more of a side character these days. Rollins is arguably the top full-time heel.

    ReplyDelete
  42. But would you dispute that someone like Bray Wyatt couldn't have gotten an extra boost on top of that by being able to claim that he sowed the seeds of discord and rotted the Shield from within?

I'm just saying, more guys could have benefited from that angle. It didn't have to be yet another HHH wank job.
