Impact really doesn't look that bad, but I just can't get myself to care about that company anymore.
ReplyDeleteYou mean good shows mean higher ratings!?
ReplyDeleteMuch tougher field today but I went with Radiohead
ReplyDeletehttp://placetobenation.com/ptbns-greatest-song-of-the-90s-tournament-pool-round-one-group-b/
No Cena = ratings!
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for there to be a news item about a change in creative. Raw has certainly felt a lot different the past two weeks.
ReplyDeleteOrton=Ratingz!!!
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
See..Without Cena raitings go up!!!!.or you know..there isn't any real rhyme or reason to one weeks rating trend
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not. One week people care, the next they don't.
ReplyDeleteApparently Rock vs. Triple H at Mania is going to do the avatar thing.
ReplyDeleteTNA with a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT THAT WILL SHAKE THE WRESTLING LANDSCAPE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're on TV this week!!!
[Thus ends the Major Announcement: You've been Dix'd,]
*waits for Vince Jordan*
ReplyDeletePeabo FTW
ReplyDeleteWatching this Warrior/DiBiase match from Tokyo. Crowd sounds super weird. I'm guessing Vince dubbed in crowd noise after the fact.
ReplyDeleteJust ordered the Bischoff, Ricardo, Hawkins, and Long shoots from RF Video
ReplyDeleteI saw a YouTube version of it where the crowd was decidedly pro-DiBiase.
ReplyDeleteMine as well take another vacation because the BoD is going to want you to review the Bischoff shoot.
ReplyDeleteI heard it is good but he did not talk about TNA at all. Might have been due to a legal reason but I am not sure about that.
ReplyDeleteIt's the weird unison Yay! noise. They do it for Warrior too. Sounds fishy.
ReplyDeleteWhat could he say about TNA that hasn't been said from other shoots/interviews?
ReplyDeleteWell well well, look who finally showed up!!!
ReplyDelete[/SpoiledCrankyEntitledInternetReader]
Been watching random shit on the network all morning. Watched Flair vs Piper from Survivor Series 90. It's a good match but it's so frustrating because it was headed towards being an all time classic until they DQ'd everyone.
ReplyDeleteI've been a metal guy most of my life but even I have to admit that first Weezer album was a classic. One of the best all around albums ever made.
ReplyDeleteSo is this the 2nd to last impact?
ReplyDeleteQuick! Someone is criticizing WWE in the 411 comments section! If you hurry, you can catch him before they go to Wrestlezone!
ReplyDeleteThird, there's two weeks left after this one.
ReplyDeleteThey do that one big spoiler yet?
ReplyDeleteI wonder how low of an offer TNA can take from Spike or another network.
ReplyDeleteI think he mentioned something on the Austin podcast to that effect.
ReplyDeleteHey, remember when everyone pretended the WHOLE WORLD was watching Breaking Bad?
ReplyDeleteA randow Raw in November gets 2/3 the ratings, lol.
I usually dig your shit Marv, but no one ever said that.
ReplyDeleteYou have been horrible in the past few days, even by your standards.
ReplyDeleteUm, everyone said it for months last year.
ReplyDeleteYou've got to watch it, EVERYONE is watching it! That's all I ever heard during the final season.
Everyone meaning less than 2% of the country I guess.
It ain't Walking Dead, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteJust reading the news. I guess the democrats did about as well last night as Stasiak and Pulombo did in their late 2000 with DDP and Nash.
ReplyDeleteWas that....was that AN OPINION?!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteI don't follow politics at all, but... That bad, eh??
ReplyDeleteNah. Stasiak and Palumbo fought.
ReplyDeleteGonna suck for Obama he's gonna have an obstructionist congres.....hahahahaha, oh who fucking cares
ReplyDeleteNo, it was "you've got to watch it, it's soooo good!" Not "everyone is watching it".
ReplyDeleteLol buried hard like RVD in 2001
ReplyDeleteThe Democrats did pretty shitty. Somehow people who voted Republican also voted for minimum wage hikes and weed in red states. We should just stop trying to figure this country out.
ReplyDeleteUmm... I have tons of opinions. They just happen to differ from the general consensus. So... HUH??
ReplyDeleteSo is Obama still president and all?
ReplyDeleteIt's easy. 50% of the country are morons. A larger percentage of those 50% voted this time, as opposed to the other 50%. This is math.
ReplyDeleteI remember the final episode being sold as some communal experience that if you missed you'd never be able to recapture.
ReplyDeleteRegardless I find it interesting that a show with literally the entire media machine behind it trying to promote it barely cracked 2 million more viewers than a random Cena-less Raw in November.
Well you might as well discount everyone under 17 years old, and everyone over 65. The target audience % would no doubt be way more impressive
ReplyDeleteI watched the first ten minutes of the first episode and wasn't entertained. I know that's a terrible reason to stop watching but I just don't think I would be interested in the show.
ReplyDeleteThat's surprising. I always said that if you watch the first 2 episodes, you're hooked. Guess it's not unanimous.
ReplyDeleteYeah I didn't bother checking out if the dumb minimum wage hike passed here, can't wait for those people to feel super rich! And to have to buy $9 gallons of milk cuz....super rich!
ReplyDeleteThe first few episodes are a little dry, but trust - it really fucking picks up
ReplyDeleteBut they are so effing dumb. South Dakota, Arkansas, Nebraska and Alaska. Four bloody red states who voted for a bunch of repugnant assholes and those voters said RAISE OUR MINIMUM WAGE, something that Republicans think is evil. It's so, so stupid.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why milk is going to be $9.
ReplyDeleteThe final episode of Breaking Bad was watched by over 10 million viewers.
ReplyDeleteThe only way that the final episode of Raw gets 10 million viewers is if Vince McMahon dreams about it.
Buried like the WWE Network.
ReplyDeleteIf Bryan Cranston hadn't decided to act his ass off that show would've been over by the end of the first season.
ReplyDeleteThe writing couldn't be worse, well ok it wasn't LOST but it was bad.
You pretty much hit it on the head.
ReplyDeleteI heard a old woman who was VERY pissed off because the Presidential election was left off her ballot
ReplyDeleteI'm talking about the average over the last season, the final episode isn't easy to quantify since every media outlet in the country spent two weeks screaming about how everyone should watch it, no sporting event but the superbowl will ever get that treatment.
ReplyDeleteBecause the minimum wage is going to $16.
ReplyDeleteSerious? What was so bad about the writing?
ReplyDeleteI don't think milk is price indexed into the minimum wage.
ReplyDeletethe milk comes from Scarlett Johansson's tits
ReplyDeleteKudos to OR and AK. Cali needs to go full out and totally legalize weed now too.
ReplyDeleteYou can tell from episode 1 they have no direction, they're just sort of writing and figuring it out as they go (hence that awesome season 2 teaser with the floating bear that eventually meant NOTHING, they wrote themselves into a corner)
ReplyDeleteGilligan was on lots of shows at the end of the series basically patting himself on the back for "taking the adventure with the viewer because he had no idea what was going to happen either!" That's not the hallmark of a good writer. Aaron Sorkin shits in Vince Gilligan's gym bags on the regular.
Well at least I voted for the 90's songs over at PTBN!
ReplyDeleteWhich were...
ReplyDeleteNo but the guy milking the cows and producing the milk in the factories....he now gets a $7 raise, that has to be reflected in the price.
ReplyDeleteWhat I mean is that, just because the wage increased won't make anyone more well off, everything will stay exactly the same because all the overhead to produce products just raised as well.
D.C.legalized it too, though Congress can (and almost certainly will) overturn it.
ReplyDeleteYou can't say he's a bad writer because his methods were unconventional - the writing and especially dialogue itself was awesome. Same with LOST - the show got a lot of grief despite its massive success but the actual characters and dialogue was fantastic
ReplyDeleteConservative folklore about what happens when minimum wage goes up.
ReplyDeletefirst 3 seasons of lost, yes.
ReplyDeleteNot to piss in anyone's breakfast cereal around here, but watching the reactions to last night's (this morning's?) election returns was comedic gold. Both here and elsewhere, the competing jubilation and butthurt have been cathartic.
ReplyDeleteAlso, reports that Alaska's senate race will go to the Republicans is now out, VA still undecided.
Ace of Base of GTFO
ReplyDeleteYeah tough field for sure... Peabo!
ReplyDeleteYeah, get that strawman good!
ReplyDeleteBrandy, weezer, snoop, Radiohead, ace of base.
ReplyDeleteI forgot who I voted for yesteday for it though.
Or just, math. If the guy making the help just got an insane wage raise for no reason, how would that NOT affect the price of the milk he has to sell to pay himself?
ReplyDeleteSounds like this blog after a Raw or PPV that was deemed horrible.
ReplyDeleteAfter Jobber mentioned Place to Be Nation, you guys gotta listen to the Summerslam 03 review Scott and Justin did. Justin's usually a really calm guy but when they went over the finish to the main event he got VERY heated. I was about to fall asleep but that really entertained me.
ReplyDeleteThe election that matters! Your vote really counts here!
ReplyDeleteLol, same, will be easier once they really cut the field down to remember though.
ReplyDeleteLet's go D Rose Let's.....oh, damn.....again lol
ReplyDeleteHeck yeah... they were in my five votes for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm a 90's kid. I definitely remember how big they were. I'll vote for them for a few rounds.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the energy to get into it this time. Maybe some other time. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's Austrian economics and it doesn't always work, and it certainly doesn't work over night like that or on a one for one basis.
ReplyDeleteFlash-sideways, they can seriously fuck themselves.
ReplyDeleteToo soon.
ReplyDeleteThat's the Goldberg Elimination Chamber match, right?
ReplyDeleteMy blood is slightly rising just mentioning it.
Ha thanks... so dumb.
ReplyDeleteCorrect.
ReplyDeleteIt's always glorious to see a poster go for the proverbial streaking reaction in unbridled excitement, while the very next poster bemoans the enslavement of the human race thanks to the election results. Kind of like sneezing and farting at the same time, you don't know what to think.
ReplyDeleteYou know I have been watching BB on Netflix... I really don't see what all the fuss was about.
ReplyDeleteEh, not a bad reason. I didn't watch The Wire for the same reason. If it doesn't grab you right away, who the hell has time to sit around and wait for a show to be good? I think Breaking Bad was awesome and some people are always gonna be contrarians for the sake of contrarianism, but no, not being compelled within the first episode of a show is a perfectly good reason to not watch it.
ReplyDeleteTranslation: I don't want to look like an idiot again.
ReplyDeleteI'm averse to watching a lot of PPVs otherwise good because of terrible endings.
ReplyDeleteGoldberg winning there makes the whole outlook of that show much different IMO.
ReplyDeletePersonally I'm all for totally unskilled garbage people making as much as people with a degree, let's even the playing field out to the lowest possible level, lol.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would be instant, but people acting like an insane $5 increase in their hourly wages is somehow going to make them better off is hilarious. A lot of people probably just voted themselves off the welfare rolls.
I don't like how Brandy's song is in last place. That was a huge song when I was in like 8th grade. Even Kobe Bryant had her go to the prom with him because Brandy was so huge. Plus she was in 90's movies. Come on!
ReplyDeleteI never watched the show when it first aired. My wife and I started watching it this weekend on Netflix. I agree that the first episode was a little slow at first, but we stuck it out and now we are hooked. I like the fact that the story is always moving. Always going somewhere. I haven't watched an episode yet that I would classify as "filler".
ReplyDelete....wrestling is also pretty popular and nothing really grabs the nation's attention at large in an age of fragmented media/entertainment? That seems like the most reasonable answer to me.
ReplyDeleteYeah the plot and where they decide to take the story is one thing, but as far as developing complex, interesting characters and actual dialogue between characters covering themes etc - both shows were A+
ReplyDeleteI lived through Brandy. I thought she was as likable as a Gucci bag full of dirty diapers.
ReplyDeleteGreat analogy!
ReplyDeleteThe Sign> All That She Wants
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny that you're so convinced this bothers me.
ReplyDeleteI am just going to move on from this conversation, your points are all over the place and since you don't vote your opinion doesn't matter on these issues anyway.
ReplyDeleteLegit lol for that one.
ReplyDeleteThey only legalized being able to grow your own at home. Stores can't sell it yet
ReplyDeleteDamn right. Sort of like if you don't watch Raw, then your opinion doesn't.... NEVERMIND!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut see, we as a nation have to look at things from the "me" perspective. What affects ME now? They're gonna take MY money? They're gonna take MY guns? They're gonna let illegals in the country to take MY job? MEEEEE!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good thing. I hate Walking Dead. Way too many filler episodes for me. That, plus I have already seen the show. It was called LOST.
ReplyDeleteI am impartial, but Even Rey Mysterio is laughing at how fragile D Rose is.
ReplyDeleteYou went apeshit the first time I said he'd be useless to your team.
ReplyDeleteComplete, vaginal secretion, ape shit.
So say whatever you want, your behavior says different.
Also since I wasn't straw manning at all, nor even making an argument about Breaking Bad's quality, I figured we'd go ahead and spin off the rails.
I voted for:
ReplyDeleteMurder Was The Case
Say It Ain't So
Creep
Rosa Parks
Sittin Up in My Room
Who said I didn't vote?
ReplyDeleteMy point is totally on track, a minimum wage increase is silly and does nothing.
Yup, I am hoping the Sign makes a big run in this thing.
ReplyDeleteI voted for that song.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping Rosa Parks pushes into the top five... it was really low early on
ReplyDeleteBut, but I love my knockoff WWE/WWF shirts!
ReplyDeleteHow can they do this?!?!?!?!
Support that with data.
ReplyDeleteYah me too, tough pool for her though for sure.
ReplyDeleteSame here. I really liked the first album a lot in high school. I can't really stand Weezer anymore but I enjoyed the Blue Album and Pinkerton back then.
ReplyDeletePeople on minimum wage are still poor despite the minimum wage increasing pretty regularly in my life time. Ta-da.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching waaaaay too much 2000 wcw recently and the feud between the insiders and the perfect event is fascinating to me. I really want to see the Nitros to really get the full glory of it all. This is a feud that DX vs The Spirit Squad would say went too far as a burial of new talent.
ReplyDeleteFor all the Breaking Bad finale talk (or any finale for that matter), M*A*S*H says hi.
ReplyDeleteActually, it says Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen
ok, ok, i'll summon up the energy for just ONE post.
ReplyDeleteI understand the Booker T outrage. I understand the RVD outrage. They lost their title matches relatively clean, then got shunted down to the midcard. I don't think they even got rematches. So it DID hurt them very badly.
The Goldberg thing is just a NON FACTOR, because HE WON THE TITLE ON HIS FIRST REMATCH. So really, it had ZERO impact on the long run. ZERO. He was still very over as champ, and he was still leaving at WM 20 no matter what. How this is still an issue over a decade later, because they decide to stretch the chase one simple month, is mind boggling to me.
Ok, end rant. Just saying, it didn't matter. :)
Fair enough. I mean, that's still an untrue argument, for whatever it's worth. Just from the first two games of this year it's obvious he's physically back pretty much all the way. Even 50-60 games of the DRose we've seen so far this year will make the Bulls 8-10 wins better, easily. But while I love the kid, he has zero pain tolerance and zero ability to play at less than 100 percent because his cumstain brother coddled him his entire life.
ReplyDeleteI have no recollection of said argument, but going apeshit doesn't sound like something I'd do unless we're defining that term in wildly different manners. I think it's far more likely I was bored at work (much like now) and responded with something really long-winded.
Shoot, if you look at the booking after all that, you could still keep it the same way (Goldberg getting rolled on by Evolution) and it doesn't change the overall dynamic; not jobbing in the cage just hurt what it could've been.
ReplyDeleteThat isn't data. And the point of minimum wage isn't to make people not be poor. Again give me some data, not some anecdotes.
ReplyDeleteAsking for best 90's song is like asking for Jesse Baker's best booking idea
ReplyDeleteThis is how I know for sure you're just working people. That was terrible booking. Terrible.
ReplyDeleteHaha, ok well that last part may be true. And in fairness I think it might have even been the very day after ACL2 so I'm sure your nerves were pretty exposed at the moment.
ReplyDeleteAre you Dr. Facts? If so, did you lose your license to practice facts because of malpractice?
ReplyDeleteI was fine with Steiner, Booker and Nash all failing.
ReplyDeleteBut just watch that damn match. Watch it again... that would have been an all time moment and would have made Goldberg look like a monster for the first time in that run. He should have squashed Triple H like he did the rest.
Then you have H say the injury slowed him down and that is why he gets a one-on-one rematch at Unforgiven, where Goldberg beats him clean again.
You can't recreate THAT moment.
Like if Austin would have won Unforgiven 98 instead of WM14, or Bryan this year.
Mostly because they stretched it past the "event" PPV.
ReplyDeleteIf that rematch was at Summerslam no complaints.
This is fucking brilliant.
ReplyDeletehttp://lolhub.com/search-id-657693-.html
I wonder how many run-ins you've seen in the last week or so.
ReplyDelete100% correct. Goldberg can still beat Triple H one-on-one, just as champion instead of challenger.
ReplyDeleteWhy? This isn't a political forum, lol.
ReplyDeletePeople should get paid $16 an hour to work at McDonalds, I'm not even arguing with you. They totally deserve it.
Rock failed at WM 16 due to shady circumstances, then got his big rematch win at Backlash. Basically the exact same thing. And yet, his career didn't get killed.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be easier to figure out the average run in per match. Its over 1.0 for sure.
ReplyDeleteFair enough, I will give you that. I will also say that it was not his first run with the title and he was already a made man in WWE. Goldberg wasn't. That moment would have been pretty iconic for a time when they needed a big top face.
ReplyDeleteDifferent circumstances. Everyone knew Rock was going to be around for a while. Goldberg's shelf life (both on and off camera) was limited.
ReplyDeleteWho puts a cat in the backyard?
ReplyDeleteHe did that at Survivor Series. I felt like the chase, where Goldberg claims he got screwed, and put his career on the line for 1 more title match was perfectly logical. Then as mentioned, he did the successful defense thing at Survivor Series.
ReplyDeleteWill just say one more time, I just don't think it made a long run difference at all.
You said raising it was silly.
ReplyDeleteAnd I prefer data because we (meaning anyone) can hurl our opinions all day and not have any chance at changing them. When there are facts there is a chance for a meaningful dialogue.
I'm amazed about the immigration issue. We have people from countries known for harboring terrorists freely coming into the US with student visas. They then proceed to take an elite high paying job away from a US citizen while often times sending money back to their family in their home county. Yet was get worked up about the guy taking a shit landscaping job? Student Visas are a huge drain on our economy and no one is paying attention.
ReplyDeleteLong run, no. Short term it removed what should have been one of the feel good moments of a depressing era. He got the win back, but the air was out of the balloon.
ReplyDeleteIt is silly. No one is voting for it because it's a good idea, they vote for it because they want to see more money on their check, that's it. That it may or may not be a good idea is totally unrelated.
ReplyDeleteAnd that last part is extra silly, I've been to political forums, no amount of figures changes shit.
I actually don't disagree in that certain aspect (Goldberg being champ, feuding with HHH/Evolution, Kane's involvement) won't change.
ReplyDeleteBut it took what could've been an epic, all-time moment and made it into a "crud" moment simply because HHH didn't want to job. You can't look at the end result and say that the decision was justified; it was dumb masturbatory booking then, it's the same now.
And yes, this is with knowing HHH jobbed in 2 consecutive PPVs.
As far as this most recent injury...I'm glad he sat out Saturday night because NBA teams could learn from the Spurs and rest even their healthy stars on the second night of back-to-backs. I was pretty annoyed he didn't play last night, but there's no need to risk anything this early in the year, especially with the string of chumps the Bulls are playing this month. Might as well sit out the rest of the week and make sure it's 100 percent, with Milwaukee and Philly coming up.
ReplyDeleteIt made absolute zero sense not to have him win at that moment, especially since Triple H was really banged up and out of shape. That is exactly when he should be vulnerable and get run over. WWE is about moments and they blew a layup with a super over face and a red hot crowd that was begging for him to win.
ReplyDeleteThen you have him win in front of a dead Hershey crowd.
"According to WrestleZone, John Cena likely missed Monday’s Raw due to film commitments."
ReplyDeleteThe Rock who?
He got a pretty damn good pop during his title win. So the "air out of the balloon" thing is not really a fact, I don't think. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the last paragraph it is the only worthwhile way to discuss this sort of thing for the reasons I have already laid out.
ReplyDeleteCena, Orton, Ambrose: three of the WWE's top babyfaces all missing time due to film commitments.
ReplyDeleteUntil there are laws in place to protect people from losing their jobs, this is pointless. Great, people who are on welfare and don't work can get high, meanwhile the working man who might get a piss test is fucked.
ReplyDeleteI voted again first thing this morning - Silverchair FTW!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's how Vince has always liked it.
ReplyDeleteNot like the pop that was building in Phoenix. Booking him to have won like that was what made him in WCW.
ReplyDeleteHim losing like he did is what ruined him in WCW.
WWE should try and find WCW's old "Hell in a Cell" type cage they used at Mayhem 2000 to replace their current mega giant plastic looking current Hell in a Cell.
ReplyDeleteI'd have probably given up on it if I hadn't binge-watched it. The first season is decent but not amazing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he did. But it was a forget it in a month moment instead of an all time great. It doesn't really matter in hindsight, but it's mindboggling to reason out why that choice was made.
ReplyDeleteRF Video Announces Sale... 24% Off Young Man's Pants!
ReplyDelete#oldmichaeljacksonjoke
I am Dr. Facts and no I did not lose my license to practice facts.
ReplyDeleteI have created my alter ego The Facts like The Boz had for Brian Bosworth:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TDjAwYCWr4
Actually, young man's pants would be 100% off if he had his way
ReplyDelete24% off is only when the camera crew reveals itself
I work for a living and have never been piss tested.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the first time in the dozens of debates about this topic that anyone (let alone, 2 people ) have actually agreed to at least meet me 1/4 of the way. I am very happy about that. I'm not even saying "They 100% did the right thing", more like "It wasn't *THAT* big of a deal to still be enraged about it 10 years later".
ReplyDeleteSo I'll take that as a small victory. :)
I voted for Kodos
ReplyDeleteRight, but I'm not going to bother, I'll just use basic logic instead.
ReplyDeleteIf guy now gets paid $16 per hour to make burgers, those burgers aren't going to stay at a dollar a piece because his payroll across the store just went up almost 45%.
Someone has to pay that guy to make those burgers now and the owner of McDonald's is not going to just write off the extra payroll because he's such a hip dude.
The extra pay has to come from SOMEWHERE.
Calm down, ZEB!
ReplyDeleteI hated Silverchair
ReplyDeleteMore incredibly frustrating than apolacyptic business wise. The injury makes it worse because fate pretty much forced them to do the right thing and they STILL didn't do it.
ReplyDeleteRight, they really had zero reason not to do it.
ReplyDeleteNo announcement of the birthday of the MOST MUST SEE poster on SCOTT KEITH'S BLOG of DOOM - Mr. Cable Access!?! ME!
ReplyDeleteBrian Bayless, you have failed this blog!
I guess in my opinion, I saw it as the opposite. Winning the title in a 6 way gimmick match just isn't as meaningful as winning it man to man, in a straight up 1 on 1 match. So I felt they wanted to save the passing of the torch for when HHH was 100%.
ReplyDeleteBOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteI don't give 1/2 a fuck how many people were watching BB. _I_ was watching the greatest show in the history of TV, and I was loving it. Hell, it's fucking RUINED most TV for me because it was so good.
ReplyDeleteI get that. But he still would have beaten him one on one... they were the last two left and Hunter basically hid in his pod the whole time after the early superkick. It isn't like Goldberg pinned someone else to win.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the only reason I think I even remember that minor meltdown at all was because it was totally out of character.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever run for political office my campaign slogan is definitely gonna be DON'T PISS ME OFF SLAPNUTS
ReplyDeleteJesse Baker could never come up with Back That Azz Up.
ReplyDelete*that's* what you get from that story?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday buddy
ReplyDeleteEh, I get you, but Goldberg ran through 3 of the 6 competitors in impressive fasion. This wasn't like winning the title in a battle royal. And HHH not being 100% was the perfect out for doing the job - that way, he gets his title matches, the beatdown still happens, and nothing else changes, other than it becomes an epic moment instead of a "meh" one.
ReplyDeleteThe thing I do wonder is, I clearly remember that the 1 on 1 match was officially advertised for SummerSlam, they showed it on Raw and all. So had the injury not happened, I'm guessing Goldberg would have simply won straight up at Summer Slam? Damn injury.
ReplyDeleteWWE should take the super cage with the 3 tiers in Ready to Rumble.
ReplyDeleteAnd have somebody take the DDP bump.
That'd be insane.
We might have to coordinate campaigns. That's EXACTLY what I want my slogan to be!
ReplyDeleteThat was the same cage, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteYep, I think you are accurate there. It was a one on one and the next week Austin changed it to the Chamber.
ReplyDeleteThe first part is true, too. MVP DRose finished 5th in the league with 19.0 EWA (estimated wins added) over 81 games, so I think it's fair to say that, say, 55ish games of the DRose we've seen so far is worth 8 or 10 wins.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should just start a 3rd party with that as our core principal?
ReplyDeleteQuite possibly. Who knows.
ReplyDeleteAnyone around DC or Oregon? Loading right now, figured I'd offer to share with any of my new legal brethren. Welcome all.
ReplyDeleteBrandy should be in last place for everything by default due to her brother making Kim K famous
ReplyDeleteThe Nitros from that period are glorious. You had Nash is all his glory killing it on the mic every night until he quit, Above Average Mike Sanders also would deliver amazing promos, there was a Yung Dragons/Ernest Miller fued that was legitimately funny and interesting, the New Blood was doing all sorts of cool stuff, and then there was 2 and a half hours of pure insanity and every idea being thrown against the wall to see what stuck.
ReplyDeleteIt was so weird and insane and I couldn't stop watching it. It's the single thing I most want on the Network...late-era Nitros.
Is Arrow new tonight or is that going to be a repeat like Flash?
ReplyDeleteEh, going through four guys than a entering last HHH by spearing him through the glass door (I think that's what happened) would have been a hell of a way to win. It's like HHH was the boss of a level in a video game.
ReplyDelete
