BoD Saturday Night Thread

Talk about everything going on tonight here.

Also, the Ricardo shoot won the poll over Curt Hawkins by 4 votes and that will be recapped on Thursday

Comments

  1. First. Suck it.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I did a lot of running around today. Minimizing face time with psychotic first trimester wife is definitely the way to go.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Saw Chinatown for the first time today, awesome. Then I saw Devil's Advocate.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Bad for you.

    ReplyDelete
  5. My classic N64 games I ordered arrived today:
    Pilot wings 64
    Blast Corps.

Played each for 5 minutes. Yup. I'm good. Totally worth the 7 dollars combined for both. Just working on rebuilding the collection really. Don't need to get too involved in each game. No time for that.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Never seen either. How was Devils Advocate?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Unforgiven 08 is a really cool show.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I've seen Devil's Advocate numerous times, It's probably one of Pacino's last great roles. Even Reeves does a good job.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'll repost both here:

Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon is YOUR new FCS Single Game Rushing Champion, with 408 yards on 25 carries and 4 TDs vs. Nebraska. What was a 17-3 Nebraska lead early in the second turned into a 52-17 Wisconsin lead after three, when Gordon was pulled. Final: 59-24 Wisconsin.

Gordon passed TCU's Ladainian Tomlinson's 406 yards in 1999 for the record.

Also, down goes #1, as Mississippi State makes WAY too many mistakes, 3 interceptions by Prescott being the most damaging, in a 25-20 loss to Alabama. They made it close late, but never truly threatened to even take the lead.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The year I became a wrestling fan.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Pacino is one of my favorites but its a horrible movie full of Al Pacino at most over acting worst, and stupid Keanu.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Take up long distance running. A buddy of mine did while his wife was pregnant and it saved his marriage.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Getting old huh.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I hadn't seen that Shawn vs Jericho unsanctioned match in a long time. So fucking good. One of the best feuds of all time.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I love the Scramble match concept and HBK/Jericho is a fun brawl that leads to the classic ladder match the next month (No Mercy 2008 is just AWESOME with two ****1/2+ matches). 2008 was just fucking win

    ReplyDelete
  16. Been awhile since I've seen it, did both dress for a fight or were they in wrestling gear?

    ReplyDelete
  17. You're only as old as you feel!

And I hauled some heavy stuff today, and feel pretty beat up, actually.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Watching the STAN/UTAH halftime show on Pac-12 right now, not super happy with my graphics this week. Logos SHOULDVE been bigger, but sometimes they're hard to size them up on a computer screen that will look right on a TV screen

    ReplyDelete
  19. The reason why the build up for Zayn/Nevill at Takeover is being pretty good is due the long friendship these guys have kayfabe wise, so when Adrian is turning to a chickenshit heel you feel like he's betraying his friend.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Same, I'm more building my collection of older games up rather than playing them (huge current gen backlog). I bought Banjo-Kazooie a while back but I haven't touched it after the first day I got it

    ReplyDelete
  21. 408 on 25 carries? Insane. Sixteen yards a pop.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jericho was in wrestling gear while Shawn was in street clothes. One was ready to fight, the other was not.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Plus Charlize and Connie Nielsen bring the nudity A-game. Fun bugfuck movie.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Stranger in the AlpsNovember 15, 2014 at 5:36 PM

Any of you guys have any favorite Atari games? I picked up an Atari Flashback 5 today.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Shawn had to be the worst-dressed 'sexy' wrestler ever. He looked like a dad.

    ReplyDelete
  26. A performance the likes of which have not been seen since the days of the late Swivelhips Smith out of Taxidermy Tech.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Stranger in the AlpsNovember 15, 2014 at 5:37 PM

Sadly, it's not on there. Adventure 1 and 2 are, however.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Warlords, Combat, and Kaboom are my favorites, the first two are fun multiplayer stuff. Bowling and Night Driver are good too, and Adventure and Pitfall are classics

    ReplyDelete
  29. To do my 3 homework assignments tonight or tomorrow .....hmm....choices...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 15, 2014 at 5:38 PM

    I know, right?

    Happy belated!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Stranger in the AlpsNovember 15, 2014 at 5:39 PM

No Kaboom, but Combat and Warlords are on there. I played Bowling earlier and scored a 118. Clearly, I need to step up my game. Also there are three baseball games on there and they all play rather poorly. Night Driver is on there. I played Sword Fight with Mrs. Stranger today and beat her.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I miss procrastinating on all my assignments. I took it as a challenge to do it all the night before (especially if my teacher says it's not possible) and maximize my spare time. Lots of worth-it three hour sleep cycles full of homework all nighters

    ReplyDelete
  33. Goddamn Melvin Gordon is fast. Dude has NFL stud written all over him.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 15, 2014 at 5:40 PM

Every single actor in Devil's Advocate is chewing scenery throughout the entire thing. The nudity is appreciated, though.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Stranger in the AlpsNovember 15, 2014 at 5:40 PM

I used to write essays verbatim, without resources and footnotes. I hated adding footnotes.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Specially Pacino who does a great speech at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Which Star Trek do you prefer?

    Original Series or Next Generation?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Next Gen. That's the one I grew up on.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I texted one of my exs and now she won't stop texting me. Behold, the F.I.T.T.A system.

Adam West Batman carries Anti-Blast Bat Powder, which protects any room he sprays from being destroyed by an explosion.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I never cared for that one.

    ReplyDelete
  42. TNG, but not by any huge margin.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'd say do at 1.5-2 of the assignments tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nothing got the creative juices flowing like 1am and a paper due in eight hours. I would crank out 2,000 words in a heartbeat once the pressure was on.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 15, 2014 at 5:45 PM

    TNG

    ReplyDelete
  46. I really need to try it out on Netflix

    ReplyDelete
  47. Is that the movie where Pacino goes "SHE'S GOT A GREAT ASS!"

    ReplyDelete
  48. That's Heat.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Is Fringe any good?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 15, 2014 at 5:48 PM

Fringe is great for the first three seasons, OK in the fourth and blah in the fifth.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Similar to the D.E.N.N.I.S. system at all?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Stranger in the AlpsNovember 15, 2014 at 5:48 PM

Adam West Batman practices law.....in full costume.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Notre Dame misses a 42 yd FG in the first OT. 40-40, Northwestern now with a chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  54. And Northwestern hits a 41 yd FG in OT to win, 43-40. Remember when Notre Dame was one play from beating Florida State?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 15, 2014 at 5:52 PM

    Was Burger Time Atari?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Don't worry, ND. God works in mysterious ways ;).

    ReplyDelete
  57. "That's what wildcats do."

Lol, what? Okay, coach. Time to go back to being irrelevant again.

    ReplyDelete
  58. If you're Nebraska's d coordinator, you don't get to say shit at any meetings this week.

Tomlinson: four quarters, 43 carries, vs. UTEP, 406 yards
Gordon: three quarters, 25 carries, vs. #16 Nebraska, 408 yards

    ReplyDelete
  59. UFC + Bellator tonight, pretty decent night of fights, although Wlad's KO on Pulev probably will be the best one of the day. If you didn't see that one, make sure you at least see the gif of the finish. Wlad actually got cracked real hard about 10 seconds before that but apparently that just pissed him off.

I almost got tickets to Bellator's show but paying for Tito Ortiz in 2014 would seem like I'm encouraging him so I'll just watch that one on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Gordon treated the Nebraska D worse than Jameis treats one of his reluctant dates.

    ReplyDelete
  61. C'mon MLB, have a little pride!

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/11878919/major-league-baseball-all-stars-no-hit-four-japanese-pitchers

    ReplyDelete
  62. TNG. I like TOS too, but it was never "my" series.

    ReplyDelete
  63. If The U can knock off the Tallahassee PD tonight, it would just make my day on top of ND going down

    ReplyDelete
  64. Down 3-0 in the series, no-hit today, and Cano fractured his toe. Yeah, long week in the Far East for MLB.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It was multi platform. Killer game for its time.

    ReplyDelete
  66. LOL MLB players don't care.

    ReplyDelete
  67. And some people like to downplay the hits Ichiro had in Japan. I know it was years ago but Japan has always had some great competition.

    ReplyDelete
  68. That was like Barry Sanders or Bo Jackson in Tecmo SuperBowl.

One of the best parts of Lego Batman 3 is that the game plays the Wonder Woman TV show theme song whenever she flies. Also, the John Williams Superman theme when Superman flies.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Emma Stone, come to Butthead uh huh huh

  83. Pulling sweetass Saturday night overtime, got a mediocre Domino's pizza coming, now do I want to watch a PPV?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Stranger in the AlpsNovember 15, 2014 at 6:15 PM

The Superman theme always brought on an adrenaline rush for little Stranger. I started going around lifting the couch off the floor and stuff like that.

  90. No but I know it hasn't been filled.

I had the option to work some OT today, but I can't find it in me to give up my Saturday. I hope it picks up for you, dude.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Ugh, if I have to see Kim Kardashian's greasy ass on my FB feed one more time, I'm...well, actually, I'm just going to start deleting people, which is what I should have been doing in the first place.

I'm going to look like WWE every April in the mid-2000s. Cleaning house so well they'll call me Consuela.

    Good deal, Shirls

    ReplyDelete
  95. This is why I never watch ESPN anymore.
Lou Holtz is apparently still on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Oh everything is going fine... just not exciting.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Random WWE Midcard Thoughts:

    - Why hasn't there been Bad News Barrett new updates from the bearer himself?
    - A mystery angle in the midcard could break up the monotony.
    - New Day is going to catch on, rejuvenate Kofi and push Big E up the ladder.
    - Cesaro will ultimately be thought of as a surefire main event guy who never quite made it.
    - Dean Ambrose will be just fine.
    - Bray Wyatt will be future endeavored by Wrestlemania 32.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Gunther the Nasty LoserNovember 15, 2014 at 6:23 PM

Yeah but they don't have the videos, which was part of the fun, especially since a lot of it was music of the day and therefore familiar

Dear sweet wounded baby Jesus why?

  100. This is the deadest Saturday night thread ever.

  103. All you need to know about Beavis and Butthead:

    ReplyDelete
  104. Still better than going to the shopping outlet in freezing weather, which is what people wanted me to do with them.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 15, 2014 at 6:26 PM

It was my favorite part of Lego Batman 2 and the main reason why I was so excited for Lego Batman 3. When I'm doing free play now, Superman is my first go-to, just so I can fly around for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I usually work or go out Saturday nights so I never see them. I expected heated arguments and drunken life advice.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 15, 2014 at 6:27 PM

That would have been the worst idea ever.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Wait until Satan and TBP start posting.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Classic or Clusterfuck?

    Vitali Klitschko vs Wladimir Klitschko

    ReplyDelete
  110. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessNovember 15, 2014 at 6:28 PM

    Brazilian Psycho

    ReplyDelete
  111. I am so anti-winter this year. It's gonna suck.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Ah. I was gonna say....

    ReplyDelete
  113. No idea. Are either of them entertaining fighters? I know they both win a lot but have no idea if they fight an entertaining style.

    ReplyDelete
  114. It would be a classic if they had reasons to hate each other. If they just fought for a big payday, I could see it being a boring fight. Also, the build would be unintentionally hilarious. Imagine those two lugs on 24/7.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Who cares? It's brothers beating the shit out of each other for money.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Has there ever been a major brother vs. brother boxing match?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Not as exciting as you want that to be... the Klitschkos have done OUTSTANDING work in murdering the heavyweight division's interest.

    ReplyDelete
  118. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©November 15, 2014 at 6:31 PM

    The Beautiful People?

    ReplyDelete
  119. 1) Probably because they're pissed at him for getting injured again.
    2) Because the midcard is for losers who don't deserve any angles.
    3) What is New Day?
    4) Was Cesaro ever thought of as a surefire main event guy? A dude that was liked by the IWC and had talent, sure, but I'm not sure anyone ever viewed him as a lock for the top of the card.
    5) Yup.
    6) Only if his contact expires/he does something ridiculous outside of the ring. WWE no longer really cuts guys before their contract ends.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I don't recall. There was a major brother vs brother sumo match once...and it was painfully obvious that the younger brother was throwing the fight.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I love Lou Holtz segments in a trainwreck way.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Satan would be too busy asking them for various Knockout's asses.

    ReplyDelete
  123. The videos were the best part

    ReplyDelete
