Lana Wins Twitter

Yeah, you tell ‘em, Lana.  Well, except that Brock Lesnar is the champion, not Cena, but the SPIRIT is there.  Nice to see someone actually embracing the old school heel mentality and going all the way with it.

Comments

  1. Brock vs Rusev could be a hell of a match actually.

    ReplyDelete
  2. No, no, come on now. Brock is from Rocky 3 and Rusev is Rocky 4. That's just confusing the issue. The important thing is keeping CENA strong.

    ReplyDelete
  3. They would beat the shit out of each other.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Probably a late November post-RAW match, if the current rate of escalating desperation holds.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Too bad Tommy Gunn is already dead.

    ReplyDelete
  6. At the risk of being a devil's advocate, she didn't say she was going to take the title FROM Cena, just that it's next on the list. Of course Cena is going to beat Brock at Rumble and go on to fight surprise Rumble winner Rusev at Mania anyway, right?

    ReplyDelete
  7. But Zack Ryder was kind of like Cena's surrogate son, so he's available.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think it's all part of the faux Russian.

They will crush Cena and then take the heavyweight title [from it's holder.]

    ReplyDelete
  9. Rusev vs Hogan, with Rusev killing Hogan and giving his first five word English promo!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yeah I don't see it any different from Brock or someone saying "First I'll destroy the streak and then I'm coming for the championship!"

    NOW GET HER INTO SUPERCARD!

    ReplyDelete
  12. +1

I'd play again just to get her card

    ReplyDelete
  13. LANA is great on Twitter/Instagram, and has been since the start. You can tell she loves playing this character.

    ReplyDelete
  14. As much as I wanted KENTA to do well in WWE, it's not looking likely right now. He and the style just aren't meshing. The constant pauses between moves feel forced and he looks awkward and unnatural in his crowd interaction. Devitt, on the other hand, made a good impression immediately.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Lana is killing the game. She's the best manager in the business right now other than Heyman and basically singlehandedly makes Rusev a heel.

    ReplyDelete
  16. She's the only manager in the business right now other than Heyman and basically singlehandedly makes Ru?sev a heel.

    /FIFY

    ReplyDelete
  17. She could do with adding a little more Sherri to the mix. Really amp up the antics during a match - talk to the referee, catch a foot, get up on the apron - but she's otherwise very good.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Brock is a fusion of Drago and Lang.

    ReplyDelete
  19. If I was the King of the world, I would have Russev put Cena out after a 80 Hogan style beat down, post mania. Have him go on to beat the champion. Then Cena comes back in 4 to 6 months to challenge.

Yeah ratings might drop, but they gotta start thinking long therm. The The toothpaste isn't out of that, yet.

    ReplyDelete
  20. She says and then, meaning after.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Seriously, someone should be writing the Sherri Martel Playbook for her, take one thing out of that book every TV and she'll be the best manager of her whole generation.

    ReplyDelete
  22. People still play that? Took less than a week to bore the hell outta me.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Go watch this weeks south park. It'll make sense why people still play.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The Canadian devil has found a thousand addicts to finance NXT?

    ReplyDelete
  25. That should happen eventually. I think the plan is to eventually have Lana wrestle, she's been training for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  26. And she's addressing Hogan. So Rusev will take the title from Hogan.

    ReplyDelete
  27. And it's a non-existent title. Excuse me, championship. I hope LANA isn't punished for not correctly calling it a championship.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If it means she can take bumps then great, but I'd rather she didn't wrestle. Have they ever given a female wrestler a manager? Because Lana with a female version of Rusev would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You never know until a guy is there, but he'll get the hang of the WWE style. It's too early to even say it's too early to tell.

    ReplyDelete
  30. If desperation leads to more shows like last Monday then they can stay that way for all I care.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Title is acceptable. Belt is not.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I guess I should embrace this act because its not that bad, they are trying hard, and obviously its not going away anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hope so. I guess the problem with the taping cycle is that you're not going to get four weeks' worth of improvement, and if someone has an off-night it turns into an off-month. I'm just not seeing much of a connection beyond the reputation so far.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I can think of three offhand:

Jimmy Hart with the Glamour Girls (Leilani Kai and Judy Martin)
    Harvey Whippleman with Bertha Faye
Sonny Onoo with Akira Hokuto, Malia Hosaka, and Bull Nakano

    ReplyDelete
  35. But no-one in over fifteen years? It's gotta be worth revisiting.

Looks like an NXT I may check out tonight.
And yeah, in the leaked videos, it said Devitt's name first then switched to Balor 30 seconds later. Maybe they were going to edit in the original pop?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Her Twitter kinda makes me want a RUSEV CRUSH shirt.

They mentioned SuperCards? That would be cool if they did.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'd love to see Drago vs Lang.

Brock needs to cut clubber lang promos on Lana:

Hey, woman! Hey, woman! Listen here. Since your ol' man here ain't got no heart, maybe you'd like to see a real man. Yeah, I bet you stay up all night dreamin' about a real man, don't ya? Well I tell you what. Why don't you bring your pretty little self over to my apartment tonight, and I'll show you a real man.

    Best promo ever?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Are they really making merchandise for the foreign menace heel?

    ReplyDelete
  41. "Well, except that Brock Lesnar is the champion, not Cena, but the SPIRIT is there."

Maybe she knows something about booking plans we don't.

OK, we kinda know it too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Of course. And she looks pretty good in it. http://instagram.com/p/uyRBy2hKzz/

  43. Yes.'

    ReplyDelete
  44. They should list the currency in rubles.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think she meant Rusev would take the title in general, no matter who holds it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I know, 'twas a (apparently bad) joke.

    ReplyDelete
  47. By "killing" and "The Game", you mean "fucking" and "Triple H"?

    ReplyDelete
  48. No, I don't think any game got a specific mention. Just the concept of "freemium/free to play" games.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Good thing it was Hogan instead of the Rock, otherwise she would have been to flustered to tweet.

    ReplyDelete
  50. She told Rocky to SHUT TUP on Twitter also.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ah then maybe it only in person that she gets all googley eyed about him.

    ReplyDelete
  52. My hopes are really low for KENTA. He looks small already in NXT and hasn't been anything special yet. Too many things for him to overcome.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Lana did smile with him in a pic. He broke her kayfabe. Jerk.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Rusev beating up Hogan on Raw would be a nice piece of business.

    ReplyDelete
  55. ... isn't she actually with Rusev? I mean in bed, not just on-screen.

    ReplyDelete
  56. She clearly has a weakness for caramel skinned men :: Looks at himself :: FUCK!

    ReplyDelete
  57. You know Hogan is in Vince's office pitching that shit hard. He'd bleed enough for every old XPW fan on earth to get mauled by that guy at Royal Rumble and get in Cena's corner for Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hogan should come down to save some random jobber Rusev is massacring then he himself gets beat to shit and the next week Cena decides to stand up for Hogan because... well Cena stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Lana is obviously smoking hot but something about knowing she's getting banged by that fucking gorilla every night kind of kills it for me.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think Lana means Rude will crush Cena, then after that take the World title.

    ReplyDelete
  61. He seems like he'd be a good guy in real life. I do have that issue with Nikki Bella though..

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'd book Hogan thanking veterans and such next week for Veteran's Day, etc... then Lana goes on about how stupid Americans rely on war and RUSEV locks him in the Accolade until he passes out.

    ReplyDelete
  63. When he realized that Lana needed to see what a real man looks like.

    ReplyDelete
  64. HowmuchdoesthisguyweighNovember 6, 2014 at 5:51 PM

    Same.

    ReplyDelete
  65. It's stuff like this that is so basic and wrestling 101 and "creative" can't figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I am further amused by Google Adsense now giving me ads for Russian dating sites on this page.

    ReplyDelete
  67. That has essentially been every single storyline since Rusev has debuted.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Spoiler: Cena wins

    ReplyDelete
  69. Would a Hogan heel turn be worth anything at this point? I would mark out if Hogan and Rusev beat down Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Maybe Hogan plans on reinstating his Hulk Hogan memorial title and plans to give it to Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  71. The next episode is the best top to bottom episode I've ever seen, everyone should watch next week, two really good matches well happen and the entire set up tapings leading up to the next live show was great, also no Titus.

    ReplyDelete
  72. What I'd like to have right now... is for all you fat, out of shape burly, Bulgarian, butterballs to keep the noise down while I take my robe off, and show the ladies what a REAL man looks like.

    Hit the music.

    ReplyDelete
  73. By "wrong" I mean "completely" and by "person who is wrong" I mean "you".

    ReplyDelete
  74. I think tagging him with Balor in NXT for a little while should help him. He's got time to learn. Also, I think Itami's debut was just as good as Balor's, so I'll wait to see them have some actual matches before I judge who will be better off.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I watched the first match and then the Balor debut. It was quite enjoyable--looking forward to watching the next special.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hah! Lana rules.

This is probably leading to Hogan getting demolished by Rusev in a segment and I have no problem with that. Classic stuff. I just wish it wasn't leading to Cena being the one to beat Rusev. There'd actually be a bit of prestige involved at this point, and Cena just doesn't need it. Honestly? I'd have Rusev beat Cena, and take a chance on Ryback being the one to finally take him down. It completes his rebuilding, and it seems like the crowd would be totally into it. And given that awesome return promo he gave, you have a great redemption story built in. Not only would you get him back to main event level, but you'd also have a solid character foundation; it wouldn't be something as shaky as a Goldberg/Warrior-style streak this time.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Fuck yes. Excellent idea.

    ReplyDelete
  78. It might be a decent change in status quo to have Rusev win the Rumble and Cena beat Brock for the title. Have him chuck all the favorites out. Reigns, Bryan, Ambrose, etc. Then all the others find compelling feuds instead of a force fed Mania title win

    ReplyDelete
  79. I want to see Cena vs Rusev.

    In Russia.

    ReplyDelete
  80. This. The only thing that would make this better would be Nikita Koloff coming out and hitting Hogan with the sickle before Rusev locks on the Accolade.

    ReplyDelete
  81. So...is like Lana becoming the best heel on the roster?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Towards the end of the match, the entire crowd turns on Rusev and starts chanting "CENA! CENA!" until Putin finally stands up and applauds. Then, after the win, Cena delivers an emotional speech about everybody changing to become better people.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Lana rules. I'm somewhat sold on Rusev too. He's fairly agile for a big guy and a shockingly good seller (example: When Swagger was destroying his leg, instead of suddenly no selling it and doing his moves normally like a certain main eventer, he sells the whole time he's doing the Accolade, altering how he applies it and acting like it's hurting him to even do it but he's fighting through).

What do they do now though? Since obviously John Cena is the only one who will be allowed to end his win streak, do they make it a non title match for no clear reason? Or does Cena win the US title? Nobody will beat Rusev before Cena does, I'm sure, so he can't drop the title that way.

    ReplyDelete
  84. so the build up is Rusev killing Hogan?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hogan as a heel is the same as Ric Flair as a heel. at this point (to be precise: for several years now), it doesn't work anymore. the are too respected in their legends status etc.

    ReplyDelete
  86. in wrestling there are always ways around it (first idea that came to my mind: Rusev could do something "horrible" - beat up an announcer or something like that - and is getting stripped off the title).

    ReplyDelete
  87. I would so enjoy Rusev and Reigns being in the Rumble. as someone mentioned before these two facing off is very likely to get a great reaction.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'm not crazy about Rusev as a monster, but I do like how he always sells. He gets psychology.

At some point, Rusev has to do something that makes him a heel besides Lana's trolololing. He still hasn't really done anything 'bad'. He just beats everyone with no interference and listens to Lana.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Other than Rollins, pretty much.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Hogan would be a perfect Apollo to Cena's Rocky and Rusev's Drago right now.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Friend just informed me I'm blatantly shown at the 16:00 mark clapping on the right with the old school Brewers hat and sani zayn shirt on

    ReplyDelete
  92. It also hasn't helped KENTA's case that he's been working with the Ascension, neither of whom are good workers. It must be harder to adjust to a different style when you're in there with a guy who can barely work it himself.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I'm pretty surprised that Charlotte didn't take a page from her father's book and immediately turn on Bayley.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Adam "Colorado" CurryNovember 6, 2014 at 11:20 PM

What channel is it on? Oh, wait...

    ReplyDelete
  95. Good grief, Kenta has barely logged a month in NXT and people are already writing him off?

    ReplyDelete
  96. I'd like to see him in a match that breaks five minutes before I have any judgment of him.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I'd like to see him up against some solid workers.

Put him in against Zayn, Neville, hell, even someone like Funaki, and you'll get a better match out of him than you would from the Ascension at this point.

Can't help but wonder if they would have been better having him feud with Devitt straight away. Have KENTA/Itami announced as the big new signing (as they did), but instead of the Ascension inturrupting, have a pissed off Devitt/Balor come in and say he signed on the same day and deserves the spotlight more.

Let them feud with each other, to get the crowds engaged with both of them, while letting them learn the WWE style at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Did you not review last weeks show? October 30th? Thanks.
