Why The Guy?

Scott,

With Roman Reigns' grand coronation just around the corner, and with everyone shitting all over it months in advance,it got me thinking....

1. Why exactly is he THE guy? I get it that he's got the look, the heritage, the HHH factor.....is it that simple and shallow? There's no ratings, natural pops or great moments to back it up though.

2. Do you think they should have turned him in the Summer instead of Rollins? You can then have him as the Authority's henchman who ultimately rebels and wins grassroots support a la Batista in 2004/2005. You also avoid fan burnout that way.

3. Do you think the Reigns-Brock match will be a trainwreck?

1.  It's just WWE circular logic.  They decided in advance that he's the guy, so he gets protection and the push to justify it. And yeah, sometimes it's that simple and shallow.

2.  Yeah, I think that's what most people were expecting, in fact.

3.  It'll be interesting, that's for sure.

Comments

  1. Having a guy earmarked for the top just 'because' is a sure fire way to turn the fans off him.

Is there any argument for Reigns getting the push over Ambrose as it stands today?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Though it would be horrible for both us and the WWE, a failed ME babyface run would probably be a good thing for Reigns. Right now he's gonna be 95 Diesel which is terrible. If he fails and turns into awesome WM12 Diesel because of it that'd be great.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Reigns has amazing hair?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ambrose's hair is stringy. He should stay a mid-carder.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Reigns hasn't lost to a ghost/hologram distraction yet?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Reigns isn't a bad prop comic, so that's a plus

    ReplyDelete
  7. Wait until he gets back. I sense awkward slideshows in his future.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I kinda understand making Reigns the next top guy. He's incredibly good looking and has natural charisma just from standing in the ring. He can wrestle well enough as seen by all the great Shield 6-man matches. And he's likely easy to work with backstage.

I also totally understand the early backlash. No one likes being told who the next big guy is, it's more fun to watch it happen organically. And I think people are burnt out on the WWE forcing their choices on us. Who isn't tired of John Cena or hearing about $9.99?

I think the Reigns/Brock match will be a pretty fun match. Two agile big men who can stiff each other and move quickly? That's a good combination. I think Reigns winning will be kinda a disaster especially with how smarky the Wrestlemania crowds are. But the WWE seems Hellbent on telling their audience exactly what they're going to like and how they're going to consume their wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I thought everybody had Ambrose as the one that turns heel.

    ReplyDelete
  10. During The Shield I thought that Reigns was the best choice, but now I'm on board the Ambrose train, he's got a lot of personality. I'm not that into Rollins. He's comes off as any other fast paced little man to me.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Incredibly good looking? That's a weird place to start.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Those 6-man matches don't show that Reigns can wrestle. If anything his lack of any remotely decent singles matches goes to show that 6-mans concealed his limitations, thanks to the awesome wrestlers working with him

    ReplyDelete
  13. It's OK to call another man good-looking

    ReplyDelete
  14. Just a weird place to start in my opinion. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Brock hasn't wrestled as an "agile big man" in over 10 years.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Nah it's pretty relevant to him getting the big push I think, if he looks good there's more scope for media attention/film roles etc outside of WWE

    ReplyDelete
  17. I can honestly say I haven't seen anything that makes me think he can wrestle a 20-25 minute main event well.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Great hair. Can't take that away from him.

    ReplyDelete
  19. If they build Reigns vs. Brock in a serious way and make it about two bad asses going to war, it'll be a fun program.

But of course, they're going to have Roman do corny jokes about Paul Heyman being a walrus and probably do a bunch of toilet humour and other stupidity that Michael Cole and JBL can guffaw over.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bee-Lee DAT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Honestly after all the Cena and Orton nonsense this year I will be glad someone new is main eventing.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Great hair is an understatement. Kevin Nash is so jealous, he's probably texting HHH every hour to stick Reigns' with a powerbomb to kill his push.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't mind Reigns, but they've booked him to be as dull as humanly possible except when he's putting laxatives in someone's coffee. I don't get why WWE faces have to do prop comedy or juvenile gags.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I worry about HHH being jealous of the hair and forcing him to shave it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Because it's funny! Michael Cole said so!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Michael Cole in a big ninny.

    ReplyDelete
  27. What Reigns needs more than anything else is to work a main event spine buster into his arsenal. They've got Arn Anderson under contract. He should be giving him pointers.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Do you have credible sources for that? Or are you a psychic?

    ReplyDelete
  29. "and with everyone shitting all over it months in advance."

Does the e-mailer mean "And with everyone on a particular internet wrestling message board shitting all over it months in advance"?

    ReplyDelete
  30. To me, If he's the Samoan version of Cena, that's just as bad.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why so angry Vince?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh, fuck you, man.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wow calm down Vince, it'll be ok.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm excited for the whoopie cushion and/or sticking a sleeping person's hand in warm water.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The seething rage in this comment is really uncalled for. Sad really. Maybe you just need a break from the board of it gets you this worked up.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Still not over last week, I see?

    ReplyDelete
  37. If wwe really wants Roman to get over huge at Mania, they should have him go over Cena. Nothing gets a new babyface over more than kicking Cena's ass, especially in front of a smarky crowd.

    ReplyDelete
  38. you just said for a fact that WWE will screw it up. So yep!

    ReplyDelete
  39. That option is still in play... Though they'll probably turn Reigns heel if they do it. Dammit.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Listen I just worry about your anger issues, the way all you do is try to pick fights on the board. I worry for you Vince. Take a deep breath and tell yourself it's gonna be ok.

    ReplyDelete
  41. He never said it was fact. He's just giving his opinion on a board. Calm down Vince you're so angry and looking to fight today.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow, what's with the angry yelling? Get off the ledge man.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, that was my impression and the dissent between him and Reigns/Rollins seemed to indicate he was going to turn on them, too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Nah I think roman gets every chance to get over as a face before they change course, which is totally fair. Right now though yeah, I bet beating Cena gets him way more over than beating Lesnar.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Counterpoint: hated as he is around here, getting earmarked for a push because REASONS and getting pushed until he got over is how HHH happened. It works, but it requires commitment.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Rollins as a heel really did turn out to be a revelation. Great d-bag heel.

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's not like Ambrose gets better reactions than Reigns from 98% of the fanbase. The whole "turning on Reigns" thing that is so popular online never really happened.

It MIGHT have happened if not for his injury. Really the best thing for his character and his push was going away for 3 months and staying away from the death spiral that is fall WWE programming.

    ReplyDelete
  48. And his promos have improved exponentially. He's still not GREAT, but man, he couldn't talk at ALL when he debuted on the main roster.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I cant believe it still doesnt bother them that he is still very green and has trouble with one on one matches unless he is in peril for 20 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah his promos aren't great yet but he's got heel charisma out the ass.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Injuries have really destroyed the booking this year. Losing Bryan and Reigns seems to have really killed what they were (seemingly) trying to do. Why not reach out to UT or someone for a temporary fix until they get everyone back? He can work a Rumble match with Brock and disappear again. Depending on Orton and Cena just isn't an option anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  52. No kidding. I don't know how great it is for him to have to go from "guy who beat Randy Orton" to "Royal Rumble winner & world champion" in 3 months, but if every Raw in the last few months ended the way they were with him around (SPEAR SPEAR SPEAR SUPERMAN PUNCH SPEAR ROMAN REIGNS MAKES ANGRY, VIOLENT, SEXY, PURSED LIPS AT THE STAGE), he'd be dead in the water.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Taker can barely move around on his own these days. They should have backed up the money truck to Chicago to get Punk to work a handful of dates seeing as how he's the best healthy guy who isn't currently doing anything but I guess both sides were too stubborn there.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Didn't know he was that injured. I agree about the Punk thing. Just a short-term thing til they get everyone back. If they can do it for Brock why not for him?

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's their own fault for not having more options. Everybody they could plug in has midcarder stink on them.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Exactly! Two injuries destroyed all of their long-term plans and that's on Vince and Co. Though, I do like that they are trying to get Ambrose and Rollins fast tracked to that level.

    ReplyDelete
  57. "the best thing for the character was getting him away from the product."

    That really shouldn't be.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Or maybe it should be. Too many guys are overexposed. We need some Kayfabe injuries to rotate people in and out.

    ReplyDelete
  59. It shouldn't be but it is. I really think that the current programming model of 5 hours+ per week just isn't conducive to getting guys over and keeping them there. We rip on the 50/50 booking and yeah, it sucks. But when they get STRONGLY behind someone, the fanbase turns because they see so much of them that people naturally rebel against someone "shoved down their throat".

I really think the solution is to write angles that get the top guys off TV every now and then so the fanbase doesn't get sick of them.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Lesnar vs Reigns should be titled "Battle of the Minnesota Vikings Rejects"

    ReplyDelete
  61. It really seems like money isn't the issue for Punk, so I can't really blame them for that.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Refereed by Adrian Peterson. Loser gets whipped with a switch.

    ReplyDelete
  63. You don't seem angry. I suggest they don't like you because you have a different opinion than them, and don't prescribe to the blindly rage at things you dislike motto they follow.

    ReplyDelete
  64. That's funny - it's essentially the implementation to the "season" thing everyone's talked about. If you want to be seasonal, just make sure you get injured. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  65. This is rich coming from one of the angriest posters here. I think you might be projecting.

    ReplyDelete
  66. What about Vince's comment conveying seething rage? Legit curious.

    ReplyDelete
  67. "Why exactly is he THE guy? I get it that he's got the look, the heritage, the HHH factor..."

I am continually astounded at the number of E-mails Scott receives where someone answers their own question within the first two sentences.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Honestly, I think nothing short of a Wrestlemania main event + said Brinks truck stuffed to the brim with cash and Divas would get Punk back, even short term.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Because most accounts suggest that Punk wanted to main event WM. I doubt he'd have any interest in being a short-term temporary solution to Vince's problems.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Oh, didn't even know that about Reigns.

And yep, had Brock committed himself for 2-3 years when it comes to Football, I wonder how he would have done.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Pretty much. And he's impossible to rely on as a long term project now too. No way Punk's coming back anytime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  72. So are you sort of suggesting a pro wrestling off season? That has never been thought of before, you sir, are a genius!!

*Note: I was only kidding, please do not melt down. I know i can count on you :)

    ReplyDelete
  73. He could have made a practice squad or gone to NFL Europe, which is damn good for someone who hadn't played football in 10 years. Really if he had given it 2 years to improve his technique he could have made the NFL just like how a couple years of training (and good luck in matchmaking) made him UFC champion and the #1 draw in that industry also.

Brock is just one of those rare super athletes like Deion Sanders or Bo Jackson who could have been a pro at any kind of physical activity they really put their mind to.

    ReplyDelete
  74. YankeesHoganTripleHFanNovember 2, 2014 at 9:21 AM

Not to change the subject but I have exclusive news about The Undertaker working with the NXT kids..

"Not shaking hands with everyone? That's a Bradshaw showerin" Disrespecting the main eventers? That's a Bradshaw showerin. Showering in the locker room showers? Oh you better believe that's a Bradshaw showerin."

    ReplyDelete
  75. A swervy heel turn would do a world of good for Roman. He could reunite with Seth Rollins and feud with Ambrose and a fresh Ryback. This would let him keep his cool heel vibe instead of turning him into "Die Rocky Die", Sheamus, or John Cena 2.0. THEN they can give him the big face run and the fans will be more receptive to it after showing his chops with a nice singles heel run. This is basic wrestling booking 101, and would be a nice preemptive strike against the fickle fans.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I mentioned that Worst in the World's posts convey a lot of anger about last wednesday, and he and Danimal have been all over it, with "NO, *YOU* ARE THE ANGRY ONE!!! " Ever since. It is quite incredible really.

    ReplyDelete
  77. "and don't be surprised to find a piece of shit in your bag"

    ReplyDelete
  78. Careful! he'll reply to you with a passive agressive reply, then troll you for being the true angry one for the next 3 weeks!! Cause him being angry is just LUDICROUS!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I would say anyone who is familiar with WWE's recent history would be able to tell that Reigns is likely going to get turned on by the fans much like Cena and Sheamus.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Agreed. Let him turn heel and have the fans clamor for him organically would be huge. I'm a Reigns fan...he's explosive with his offense and has a good presence as a bad-ass. That spot where he powered out of Bray Wyatt's Sister Abigail and roared during the Wyatt-Shield six-man was awesome. But I'm afraid that if they zoom him to the title, he'll end up as heatless as Sheamus in the next year.

    ReplyDelete
  81. YankeesHoganTripleHFanNovember 2, 2014 at 9:25 AM

Dude that's gross. Taker would never do that to the NXT kids We all know that's only done to the divas.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Sounds like a rather bleak mindset. Just automatically assume that WWE will screw everything up within 4 months. Must not make for an enjoyable viewing experience.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I stand corrected.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Didn't you already post this joke in another thread?

You're as repetitive as the wrestlers you idolize (Hogan and HHH).

    ReplyDelete
  85. Threadjack: While going through one of John Edwards' favorite publications, the Target Holiday Toy Guide*, I came across something quite funny:

The picture: A kid holding up a toy WWE Championship Belt.
The description: "United States Championship Belt"

There was no U.S. Title on the page, or anywhere nearby. Outstanding work, WWE and/or Target.

Also on the page, a "Gorilla in a Cell" playset (Think HITC meets Punjabi Prison match), a regular ring set with half of the Ultimate X above it, and a two pack of figures featuring some indistinct bearded guy in black trunks "swinging" a pallet, one-handed (WHAT STRENGTH), at another indistinct bearded guy with black trunks. One appears to have light brown hair, the other is dark brown.

(*I'm merely a kid at heart sometimes, good ole' Molester of Boys prefers to touch other boys' hearts. I'll be back after some mind bleaching.)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Frankly it hasn't been an enjoyable viewing experience. Fans had to hijack shows just to get a logical conclusion to Wrestlemania. The creative team is clearly inept.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I think he wanted the John Cena spot but that's already assumed by John Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Well if it helps, Just based on the Pennsylvania rivalry, I'm sure the Phily fans at the Rumble will try to overshadow their Pittsburgh rivals from last year. I think they will hijack the show, whether it's great or not. :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. What about it is incredible really?

    ReplyDelete
  90. "I know I can count on you".

It's nice when two people find love.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Impossible to rely on? Do you have credible sources on that or are you just making things up?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Dear god, you and WITW are trying WAY too hard. It needs to be more organic, and less forced. There is a certain art form to it, which you clearly lack. :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Someone is clearly a bit JELLY!

    ReplyDelete
  94. How thin skinned some people are. I wasn't even trying to attack him, I was just pointing out what I saw. But he just went into a week long meltdown. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Suddenly, the match breaks down when both wrestlers put their hands up and beseech the ref, "We'll be good, Mr. Peterson...please don't whup us!"

    ReplyDelete
  96. The seething rage behind that smiley emoticon is quite startling. I really think it would be in your best interests to just take some time off from the board. The way you're throwing around opinions as facts in ham fisted arguments today. It's sad really. You're better than this Vince.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Exhibit A: Dean Ambrose sliming people.

Exhibit B: Dean Ambrose with a hot dog cart.

    Exhibit C: Fuck you.

    ReplyDelete
  98. ok, full ignore for you from now on. *yawn*

    ReplyDelete
  99. They really have to bring up the NXT guys who are ready. Not to push them into the main event but having new wrestlers to watch always invigorates a show. Plus, Dolph should be pushed to a higher level not because he's an internet darling but because he's ready, over with the audience and seems to be newly motivated.

And before someone says that he's injury-prone, you can't blame Dolph for getting concussed when Swagger and Ryback hit him as hard as they can. What other injuries has he had?

    ReplyDelete
  100. I still have some hopes for Dolph. (i'll ignore Smackdown from 2 nights ago). But He just might maybe sort of kind of be getting repushed.

    ReplyDelete
  101. No notable pops/moments? How about all those six-man tags as part of the Shield? How about the crowd going crazy when it was him and Rusev at the end of that battle royal? How about a simple staredown between him and Trips getting a "This is awesome" chant (and yeah, that chant is too easily used these days, but it shows that there was definitely interest in their animosity)?

    ReplyDelete
  102. That's your second time saying it. I hope your blind rage doesn't win out again. Just take a chill pill Vince. It's all ok. You're taking these posts from strangers on a wrestling board much too seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I think the Smackdown beating was more to give him a reason to join Cena vs. The Authority at Survivor Series. That's not a burial but angle advancement as he went 50-50 with Kane in the match and then Seth Rollins pinned him as a humiliation thing. It made Ziggler look sympathetic instead of flat-out squashing him.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Not to mention he's balding.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Those don't count. Don't ask me why, but they don't count.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I also think it's time to move on from the Henry's, Big Show's and Kane's of the world. They had nice 15+ year runs, but Vince getting rid of everyone after WM 12 was good for the product and it needs to be done after WM 31

    ReplyDelete
  107. As much as Cena and Orton don't bother me as much as they bother others, I am also a huge fan of Dolph, Cesaro and Ambrose. I'd be very happy if at least 2, if not 2 of those 3 would become main eventers. Looks bleak for Cesaro right now though...

    ReplyDelete
  108. Or the fact that when Daniel Bryan wasn't coming out at the Rumble, Roman became the de facto crowd's favourite because no one wanted Batista to win.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Vince you are so glib. Those were big moments, but they came as a part of the Shield. He is yet to make an impact as a singles star. I will admit that Orton dragged ass in their singles match and that was a poor match selection choice. Also booking him as the guy spiking coffee was also terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  110. 1: Shield pops =/= Reigns pops
    2: That one does count.
3: See 1. I'm sure Ambrose or Rollins could have gotten the same in that position.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Hey, Rock and Austin did some stupid stuff too (crapper 3:16, and Rock bottom into the dog poop). As long as it doesn't become a weekly thing, it shouldn't be a big deal. I'm just saying i'll "let it play out and see how it goes".

    ReplyDelete
  112. Was it Cornette or Court Bauer...somebody with a weekly podcast went crazy after that Reigns/Orton match yelling about how Orton sandbagged him on purpose.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Yeah, that last one wasn't a Reigns thing, I agree.

Remember that ECW elimination chamber match? Fans were so anti-Lashley that they chanted for the Heel champ Big Show by default. Same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Cesaro's lack of push this year is mindblowing. He comes out of Mania, fresh and ready to be a contender after picking up Big Show in the middle of the ring and WALKING him over to bodyslam him out. A massive star-building moment that could have lifted him to the main event.

    ReplyDelete
  115. 1. Reigns was as much a member of the Shield as Ambrose and Rollins. All three guys get credit for the team's over-ness, and for the quality of their matches.

    3. I doubt it. With the way they portray Reigns (and with the way he's physically built compared to Ambrose and Rollins), you get the impression that he could kill Trips, and HHH sold his fear of Reigns really well. Ambrose and Rollins are dwarfed by HHH, and there's no reason to believe that he couldn't handle them in a fight.

    ReplyDelete
  116. If you're talking about the 2 counters he made, both of those were clearly planned in advance. So i'd say it's more the bookers/agents that made Roman look bad there. It did kind of expose Reigns as having a predictable move set, i'll admit.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I do wonder, if Vince had pulled an audible and had Roman win the Rumble... how long before those cheers would have turned to boos?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Yup...loyalty is great but there needs to be new blood. The guys you mentioned aren't adding anything to the product anymore and can be replaced.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Pure Vinsanity.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Adam "Colorado" CurryNovember 2, 2014 at 9:48 AM

    " It'll be interesting, that's for sure."

Well, that's more than you can say for either of the Rock/Cena matches.

    ReplyDelete
  121. 1: I agree. But overness as a group does not always translate to individuals. Otherwise we'd be talking about no-doubter Hall of Famers such as Billy Gunn, D-Lo Brown, and Paul Roma.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Yeah, his 50/50 booking has been really frustrating. The guy beat world champ Orton clean back in February, and now he's losing two straight falls and getting pinned with a pumpkin on his head. It's not the worst place to be; he's not been Ryder'd, but he deserves better.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Crikey Mate Down Under AussieNovember 2, 2014 at 9:49 AM

I'm curious for Reigns-Lesnar. If done correctly then I think Reigns' short bursts of explosive offense would look impressive against a monster like Brock that keeps beating him down but Reigns just keeps firing back at him.

    ReplyDelete
  124. "It's not the worst place to be; he's not been Ryder'd, but he deserves better."

I'd argue he's closer to Ryder than he is to where he was at Wrestlemania. Alarmingly closer...

    ReplyDelete
  125. He'd need to debut a new finisher, sort of like Daniel Bryan debuted his flying knees against Cena, for the surprise pin. I don't think the Superman Punch and Spear are enough.

    ReplyDelete
  126. If Roman wins by dumping Batista, he's getting cheered. Actually, either way he's getting cheered because he was popular as the Shield powerhouse...it's only when he started smirking and cutting jokey promos that he's become lame.

He just needs to speak softly and carry a big Superman Punch.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Reigns is obviously worse in the ring than Ambrose and especially Rollins, but I think Reigns I'd most like to see face Lesnar. A short-ish (for a main event anyway) explosive power match could be a lot of fun. Lesnar/Rollins would be great too, but Lesnar/Ambrose wouldn't be believable in the slightest.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Ha! No that leaves us with same problem. We need different combinations of guys at different times.

The Austin and Triple H injuries were great in hindsight because it got them out of the way. Same with Rock doing movies. Nowadays when someone's gone they don't even feel like they left.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I would hope for a Batista-Undertaker type of match.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Maybe, but I'm not really worried or alarmed as much as I am frustrated. I'm pretty sure he'll be getting a big push by the time the new year rolls round, but I'm not looking forward to all the clean losses in the meantime.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Hey, no smack about D'Lo...you're talkin' 'bout the real deal now!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Just ask.... Nope. too soon.

    ReplyDelete
  133. This. The Goldberg model would be fine for him: be silent, physically imposing and have a handful of signature explosive spots. That's what made people who gave this WWE-approved rookie the shiteye accept him as part of a 2/3 indy-star trio.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I loved it when Cena was gone for 2-3 months after SummerSlam 2013, but there was basically daily talk on here dreading about when he would come back. So it really was like he never left.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I think things have become a bit more anemic for Reigns since then. We'll have to see where things head when he gets back. But I agree those seemed pretty major.

    ReplyDelete
  136. He's always smirked. That's his default expression.

    ReplyDelete
  137. He's gotten smirkier!

    ReplyDelete
  138. And if he has to cut promos, make them short and explosive, too. Reigns' character always seems like he's perpetually pissed off and close to blowing up...and laid-back promos just dull his edge.

    ReplyDelete
  139. The sm*I*rkier he gets, the sm*A*rkier you all get!!!

HEY! STOP THROWING TOMATOES!! THAT WAS GOLD!!

  140. And correspondingly, when he was gone Bryan became the center of attention. Not having Cena around helped a lot for him being a big deal. Bryan getting hurt gave us a couple cool months of Shield focus. Reigns being gone opened the door for Ambrose.

Time off works, but they need to find a way to plan guys time off to maximize it instead of everything going to shit because there is no Plan B.

  141. Yeah...but WWE seems so limited with finishers as they (as they should be) are generally very safe. So what could Reigns use? To put BROCK LESNAR down for three, you need something incredible.

  142. Go full circle, and break your neck with a Shooting Star Press on Brock! (or a powerbomb, since they kept using the triple power bomb)

  143. An art to picking fights and making bad jokes to mask your anger? That's your art form, right?

  145. Abeyance style YEP.

Plus the Cesaro thing makes so much less sense considering that Bryan got hurt before they went into full on Cesaro-burial mode. If anyone post-Mania could have been heated up to be a baby face main evener it would have been him.

  146. Either was was a great joke/sarcasm comment... Or you proved his point to a tee.

  147. You know how in basketball, when a guy gets dunked on they call it being "posterized". I think Reigns hitting the Superman punch on Brock could be a total posterizing moment.

  148. Dude, all you do is pick fights with people and make comments for which the only purpose is to insult the other posters. That's 99% of your posts, save for bad jokes and Simpsons quotes to pretend that you're not simply an angry shit-stirrer.

You come off like a legit angry weirdo, just calling it like I see it.

All I'm saying is I know it makes you angry when you come here and people say something bad about WWE, and you feel the urge to lash out. But DEEP BREATHES, it'll be ok.

  149. More like a fair group of us are sick of his no-material shit he keeps trying to shovel on here.

You're (BARELY) tolerable because you at least try to back up your disagreements with the so-called "hive mind", even when said backing has a shakier foundation than a house of cards in a kid's sandbox.

Molester of Boys, on the other hand, doesn't bother to even state an opinion on one side or the other, preferring the simple troll attack pattern seen on many a site worldwide.

  150. They could have EASILY made him a Jimmy Garvin style sacrificial lamb.

I wish they'd get around to giving him a character though.
