WWE vs the world

WWE shills a stupid cat...Jarrett does this:
It was kind of the obvious choice, but JR will probably have something to prove and be really motivated, so it should be fun.  I for one will be watching the shit out of that show, although trying to cram 5.5 hours of content into a 4 hour PPV window might be a huge trainwreck.  To say the least.

Very interesting that they have such a big distribution through the US, including DTV and Dish, while WWE essentially abandons the PPV market. I'd love to see those companies promote it fairly heavily just to spite Vince.

  2. So how long before Cole and JBL start openly calling JR a fat loser on Raw?

  3. This boils down to a very simple equation for me. Jeff Jarrett wrestling = no thank you GFW. Jarrett staying behind the scenes = I'm very interested to have a real pro wrestling alternative.

  4. Good. When you think of all the post-JR big moments and matches and how much better they would've been called had JR not had an accent and been fat, it's ridiculous.

  5. The return of Oklahoma perhaps?

I know you all seem pretty upset about it but my cat is really looking forward to Raw this Monday. He this it about time they did something to cater to the audience of FMARKS. (that's feline marks for those wondering.)

Will Global Force Wrestling end up on Hulu? I'd watch!

Usually, I watch Raw at work on Tuesday morning via Hulu. I may have to watch it at home next week to let my cat watch with me.

  10. That's pretty interesting. I still don't know how well it'll do here in the states. I wonder how many buys it needs for it to be profitable for GFW.

He became interested when I showed him tape of Ms. Kitty and Battle Cat from back in the day. Got hooked when he no sold his first F5 from me.

  12. I'm sure the show will give him some good felinetio.

  13. It'll probably be great for JR to work in a company where heels don't mimic having Bell's Palsy for cheap heat.

  14. I'm very curious to see how he does. He was really good in his younger days, but I was not a fan of late era JR.

Letting JR go without having VKM in his ear may help him return to form, but who knows, WWE may have ruined him forever.

Will Ross be working solo? JR usually works best with a partner, no?

  17. As long as he doesn't do his stupid metaphors, he'll be fine.

Does anyone remember the last match JR called, and the SHIT job he did? Granted, he won't have Vince yelling bullshit in his headset, and NJPW is such a different product then WWE, but I don't see what everyone is getting excited about. JR has been intolerable since the late 90s.

  19. Yeah, but giving those up will be tougher than a $2 steak

  20. As someone who has no idea about U.S sports I normally just think "I'll take your word for it".

  21. Don't ruin the moment.

    Adam.

  22. Well that turned a probably into an absolutely. Now if they just do something silly like pair him with Matt Striker we're good.

  23. I'd say around 2003 is when JR noticeably started going downhill. And agreed that he was really bad when he was finally fired. JR gained eternal support for not being Michael Cole.

Good question. I can't imagine he'll be flying solo, my guess is that he's paired with some wrestler who really knows NJPW, though I can't think of anyone off-hand that's not either working for WWE or dead.

Didn't GFW say they'll be working with ROH and Lucha Underground? I could see either Kevin Kelly or Matt Striker, just because at least some American fans know them.

One thing I love about NJPW (on the few occasions I watch it) is the Japanese commentators. TIGER DRIVAHHHHH!

How you been John, ain't seen you in a while.

Look for WWE to start making not-so-veiled jabs at JR b/c dammit, he's a traitor who obviously doesn't appreciate what WWE did for him and his family and doesn't he known he's he beholden to them 4 Lyfe?

I started getting sick of him during the Attitude Era, but in fairness I started getting sick of the WWF in general around that time. Now, if we get early-90s WCW JR this might work.

Maybe so, but at least he won't have to literally kiss Jarrett's ass.

My guess is not well, probably around whatever BFG did.
