Well Modern Family and Red Band start at 9:00. If you have a DVR you can easily catch up.

  9. Based on what I've seen, somehow all my opponents have played their best versus me except for 1 person. Also, injuries.

A Grand Jury empanelled by the Staten Island DA to decide on an indictment on the cop who killed the guy with a chokehold for selling loose cigs. The grand jury today decided not to indict the cop.

  14. Yeah, reading this one and it's WAY worse than the case against ole' whats-his-name in Ferguson.

-According to a statement from Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan, New York law prohibits his office from disclosing records of the grand jury's proceedings as the St. Louis County District Attorney did after the Darren Wilson decision. However, Donovan wrote, he has applied for authorization to publish the information, citing a provision that allows for its release if there is "a compelling and particularized need for access."

Odds that these get released? I say "low to none".

  15. YankeesHoganTripleHFanDecember 3, 2014 at 5:37 PM

That's not really a Staten Island thing. Just a cops being douche bags thing, (I defend the Island cause thats where I went to college) Having spent a night in jail two months ago, (missed a court date) and seen them both up close I mostly root for double knockouts between cops and criminals.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You should get one of those two heart in one necklaces that Dr. Quinn has been selling since I was 4 years old.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Just saw the original video about 20 minutes ago... not really sure what to think. I tend to always side with cops, because I would never resist arrest in any circumstance.

    ReplyDelete
  18. DING DING, that last sentence is the correct answer.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 3, 2014 at 5:38 PM

I know it's not a Staten Island thing, but it is a today thing, and it has resulted in a shitstorm for me at work, so I'm annoyed.

    ReplyDelete
  20. That's the thing. It may not be right... but I understand that the police are trained killers. I would never do anything but be polite and cooperative. I've been questioned a few times by police and wasn't sure why. They were just doing their job and I was on my way.

    ReplyDelete

  22. YankeesHoganTripleHFanDecember 3, 2014 at 5:40 PM

    I see your point.

    ReplyDelete
  23. That's the one thing I like about people's attitude of "PUT CAMERAS ON THE COPS".

Maybe if they see the shit criminals will do to get away, this "default" anti-cop attitude will fade.

... yeah, right. COPS has been on the air HOW LONG?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Slammy Match of the Year. What's your pick? I'd either go with Bryan vs. Triple H or the Shield vs. the Wyatt Family. Hard to believe that those happened earlier this year...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 3, 2014 at 5:42 PM

I've seen the video a few dozen times. I still can't see a reason for six officers to surround a guy selling loose cigs, put him in a choke hold and have a boot on his head.

Shit, the City Medical Examiner called it a homicide.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Your last line is why that needed to go before a trial jury. That, and the part where NYPD has BANNED the use of chokeholds in restraining criminals.

    ReplyDelete
  27. YankeesHoganTripleHFanDecember 3, 2014 at 5:43 PM

Bryan and H although they will give it to Taker vs Brock, (which, lets face it, that's the one we will remember the ending to the most.) To be honest I don't even remember who won the Shield/Wyatt match, (it was the Shield right?)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Until you're being arrested for no reason and you're like what the fuck? Especially with the precedent set that they can just kill you and get away with it. That girl you cheated on? Her uncle is a cop and you just broke his lil Angels heart. Try not freaking out when you're arrested for nothing. Hope you don't have any marijuana or alcohol in your system. With even a trace of either the cop can do absolutely anything to you because you're under the influence and a threat to their lives.

  31. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 3, 2014 at 5:44 PM

The ban on chokeholds is more of a suggestion, apparently.

    ReplyDelete
  32. UT/Brock as MOTY is a joke. Memorable, but awful in terms of quality.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Nope, I don't believe the Shield ever beat the Wyatts 3-on-3. It's part of why a lot of us considered the Shield break-up "too fucking soon".

    ReplyDelete
  34. They did beat the Wyatts. It was just on Raw and Main Event.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The video cuts at certain points. You don't see the whole thing. As a person that's very loosely associated with the legal system, I'd need to see everything.

But again, whatever an officer asked of me, I'd do. I've literally had a squad car drive straight at me while I was walking home, jumping the curb to do so. Two cops jumped out, put the lights on me and came straight at me. I froze, gave them ID and answered every question they had in a calm manner. They let me go.

I have ZERO idea why they questioned me that night.

    ReplyDelete
  36. YankeesHoganTripleHFanDecember 3, 2014 at 5:45 PM

    But memorable is the point.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've been arrested for nothing, I literally laughed at the whole affair. I laughed while the cop was cuffing me, I laughed when I rode in the back of the car and he had to read my mirandas off a piece of paper. I laughed as I was released and I laughed eight months later when I got the whole thing expunged.

See, because I hadn't done anything.

    ReplyDelete
  38. -The NYPD's own patrol guide explicitly prohibits chokeholds, and the death was ruled a homicide by the New York City medical examiner in August. Pantaleo was the target of two previous civil suits before Garner's death.

I'd call that more than just a suggestion.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Honestly that's how WWE has presented it. They've pushed "wow the ending" over "wow what a classic match!"

    ReplyDelete
  40. The law will protect you if you are innocent and cooperate. In many cases, it can reward you handsomely.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hey if you guys could not choke people that would be great... No? OK!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I thought the Wyatts went 2-1 with the Shield winning on Main Event or something. I could be wrong though.

    ReplyDelete
  43. YankeesHoganTripleHFanDecember 3, 2014 at 5:47 PM

Lets face it...good match or not you are always going to remember where you were when the streak ended.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Shield winning a match that few watched? Yeah, I could see that.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Considering I was there, on ground level... I'd hope I do. But be honest, that match SUCKED.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeah. It shouldn't be anywhere near the list of nominees. I also trust fans in this case to vote for a different option. Hardcore fans should vote for Bryan's match or the Shield match over it...kids will vote for Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Never had a problem with anything there. It's old overstock in most cases. Maybe some minor flaws in things like cabinets and whatnot.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Nah. All cops are angels. Every single one! Wait for the autopsy when dangerous drugs are found in the victim. The cop had to defend his LIFE!!! ALL COPS ARE FUCKING JESUS SOLDIERS! CALL A CRACK HEAD NEXT TIME YOURE IN TROUBLE IF YOU DONT TRUST COPS!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Same place as always, in a live thread.

Tell that to the 1,022 casessince 2009 that have gone in front of the City's Civilian Complaint Board for cops using chokeholds.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I liked it for cheap electronic stuff

    ReplyDelete
  52. You're white privilage shines through in each and every post. Keep up the great work honky.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'd guess that WWE will have a "Most Shocking Moment" category where Lesnar/Taker will be recognized.

    ReplyDelete
  54. And that's what I'd call a failure in the system, if none of those cops have been disciplined.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Guilty man posting.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Haha, doesn't in though? God it's good being better.

    ReplyDelete
  57. That's why I think it'll win "OMG MOMENT" and not match of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 3, 2014 at 5:49 PM

So, one of the two papers we put out is in a heavily-African American area, and my boss, a 60-something Jewish white man, calls it our "Black paper" with no sense of irony. So, today he calls my staff in to lecture us on how we have to cover this "in a not dispassionate way" (we cover Queens, not Staten Island, by the by) and be careful with it because, he reminds us, we are not black. We were all shocked at that statement.

A State Senator in Southeast Queens was holding tonight a community discussion on the decision, sent out several media advisories to remind us of it. So, I send a reporter to the event. And the State Senator forces him out of the room, because he doesn't want media at this public meeting he called and sent advisories for.

This week has been exceedingly frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Not sure what your argument is there.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Luckily you weren't who they were looking for or you'd be dead. Luckily you didn't get dignity so they'd have a reason to fuck with you. They were either looking for trouble and hoping for the worst or they were just fucking with you. That sort of thing no way to approach a populace whether you are innocent or guilty.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 3, 2014 at 5:51 PM

Apparently, the NYCLU and the PBA has stated publicly that the police force in NYC has not been adequately trained in how to restrain someone without using a choke hold of some kind.

I cooperated like an innocent human being.

They said there was a domestic disturbance in the area that had a few calls. Me and my friend Petey were just drunk and just came from Hess to get hot food. We told them this, and they let us on their way. I assume they were just doing their jobs.

    ReplyDelete
  68. YankeesHoganTripleHFanDecember 3, 2014 at 5:53 PM

I think that's a no brainer for OMG moment...Unless maybe Sting is on the ballot

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm the same way with cops. They ask me the time and I'm immediately "It's 9:30 sir how are you doing great do you need to see my ID?"

I'm polite and cooperative as can be around cops because that helps my chances.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Outlines might the most pointless thing I've had to do in school so far.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 3, 2014 at 5:54 PM

You think Sting's debut is more of an OMG moment than when the ref's hand hit the mat for the third time ending the Streak?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Bryan and HHH. Don't know how that didn't get at least ****1/2 minimum.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  75. The Quarantine episode of Sunny is up there for me as best episode from Season 9.

Frank' delusional quest to clean Philadelphia one shaved head at a time.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Their jobs shouldn't be jumping the curb to IMMEDIETLY question someone. They could have received the same results by showing the same respect you showed them. That would be doing their jobs.

    ReplyDelete
  77. He actually said that!

Forget the Cena loss, his feud with HHH was fucking heatless. No one bought Brock as a threat!

    ReplyDelete
  78. To play off MOTY for the Slammys. We all know it's probably going to be Taker-Brock right? :/

    ReplyDelete
  79. The first Triple H match was good stuff and should have just ended after that.

    ReplyDelete
  80. If we hadn't known ahead of time I could maybe see a case for Sting showing up being a distant second.

As it is, everything is a distant 3rd behind Undertaker losing at WrestleMania.

    ReplyDelete
  81. When I was doing freelance out of my home for a few years I used to go for walks in the dead of the night because I liked the serenity.

More than once was I pulled over and asked what I was up to, I'd just reply "Just out for a walk, listening to a podcast, here's my ID sir." More often than not the cop would say something like "But it's the middle of the night!" and I'd reply "Yeah, for everyone else. You and I probably have very similar sleep schedules sir."

It's remarkable how much nicer they can be when you do the little things. Get pulled over in your at night? Turn the car off, turn the interior light on, put your hands at 10 and 2 before he even gets out of the vehicle, watch how much fucking nicer that cop is.

    ReplyDelete
  82. What is the work rate nerd MOTY? Can we include an American match as a point of reference please.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Probably, but it's all in how *I* handled the situation that led the result. I could have gotten pissed off and thrown pizza at the guy... but instead I acted like a human being and put the police on my side instead of putting me against them.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Nooooooooo, everyone knew Sting was showing up, even if they hadn't announced it we'd seen the 2K15 trailer.

The streak ending was the wrestling OMG moment of the decade probably.

    ReplyDelete
  85. It's not as adorable when you do it. You seem more white trash than regular old honky.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  94. Did you saw the ending, I hope Knox gets his payback.

    ReplyDelete

Get the police on your side. Police need to feel safe too.

    ReplyDelete

To be fair, I have on occasion been pulled over for traffic infractions, did everything I was supposed to do, was exceedingly polite, and still had a cop or a State Trooper be a complete ass to me.

All depends on the person and the place, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  104. You're kind of acting like you think cops act right now. I'm just cooperating.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I loved it when it aired but when I went through it on Netflix I thought it was in the bottom tier of Sunny seasons.

I really didn't like Mac Day, Gang Saves the Day, the Gun Fever episode.

The Beef Squashing episode, Lethal Weapon, and Award one and quarantine are great.

Time share, Gang Broke Dee are decent. **1/2

Watching Flowers for Charlie right now.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Just started watching Season 9 last night.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Lovin' that avatar!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Well I gave it credit! It's got 4 great episodes and two decent ones. Just 3 bad ones and one I'm watching now.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Why does anyone think this? WWE has made ZERO indication that it was even a good match.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I can't believe you don't like Mac Day, that episode is **** at least just from the scene when the two Mac's meet and start ninja chopping.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Bryan/HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  114. When it comes crashing down, and it hurts inside,
ya' gotta take a stand, it don't help to hide,
Well, you hurt my friends, and you hurt my pride,
I gotta be a man; I can't let it slide,
I am a real American, Fight for the rights of every man,
I am a real American, fight for what's right, fight for your life!

I feel strong about right and wrong,
And I don't take trouble for very long,
I got something deep inside of me, and courage is the thing that keeps us free!

    ReplyDelete
  115. If the criteria is "match I will watch a hundred times more in years to come" then it's Cena vs. Lesnar, SummerSlam.

    Otherwise Bryan/HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  116. The guy who plays Country Mac isn't funny to me.

My favorite part of that episode is when the Gang are faking being shocked that someone is gonna jump off the bridge and Dennis jumps into frame and screams "WHAT!?"

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'm having trouble remembering 5 matches this year so I'd bet that one wins it.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Sometimes you gotta shout at people.

    ReplyDelete
  119. You don't like Sean William Scott?!

    This is heartbreaking news.

You need to see Goon asap.

    ReplyDelete
  120. The only season of Sunny I hate is Season 1. Next to that Season 7 is next lowest but even then it has great shit throughout.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I feel like if they ever did a Dennis Day episode, it would be up there in terms of GOAT episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Season One is a bore, I'll agree there. DeVito is a fucking superstar.

    ReplyDelete
  123. That's his name. Goddamn I couldn't place it.

I liked him in the Rundown.

I would like to see the concept of a member of the gang getting their own day. In a big way.

    ReplyDelete
  124. The end of those shows with Hogan posing as the show closed eliciting comforting feelings that somehow everything was going to turn out ok.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Devito shows up and the show immediately changes from "hey here are controversial topics we cover!" To just pure hilarity.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I'd love me a Frank Day, but they'd have to do that on HBO or something probably.

    ReplyDelete
  127. They should just have Hogan go over Lesnar.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Seriously, talk about a guy that is willing to do anything for a laugh.

His career is one of those self-made against all odds things that I can't help but love dearly.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Does FXX have looser constraints than FX? Because I could see them getting away with some stuff. Everyone needs a day. That could be a great annual episode.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I sense a touch of sarcasm in your comment but I'm taking it seriously. If he was physically capable I would mark out to this.

    ReplyDelete
  131. What's your list of GOAT episodes looking like? Top 5.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I believe they can do whatever language they want but not graphic sense.

I'm really not certain actually, I mean every cable channel could go without language restraints if they wanted to. I'm not sure what level they're willing to go to for the sponsors, I'd think they could pull a crazy rating for a one-broadcast Frank Day episode.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I'm not being sarcastic at all. I'd love to see Hogan win the title just for the ultimate lulz.

    ReplyDelete
  134. They could do a straight to DVD movie series of Gang Days. The Christmas episode got away with Charlie's "Did you fuck my mom?" Rant.

    ReplyDelete
  135. One of the best moments in the whole show I think, that scene is hilarious every single time.

    ReplyDelete
  136. To say this reign has not been perfect would be an understatement. It's probably going to end in the same manner.

That was not what I was expecting, and less exciting.

    ReplyDelete
  146. They actually help me. This doesn't help you but....I thought I had a point but I don't apparently

    ReplyDelete
  147. That bony blonde guy is wearing a bra!

    ReplyDelete
  148. Felicity would probably be a more reliable middle of the order bat than Justin, but watch Toronto turn another throwaway into a 40 HR monster

    ReplyDelete
  149. Right! I had no idea Flash had a cross dressing character.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Doesn't matter so much with Bautista, Encarnacion, and Donaldson around, with Martin and Saunders providing some support. Maybe he works out, maybe he doesn't, he's not expensive and they have nothing invested in him.

    ReplyDelete
  151. You motherfuckers need JEEEEEEEZUS

    ReplyDelete
  152. Is that Flash? I have trouble telling it apart from Gotham and Arrow and S.H.I.E.L.D. and all the rest of those shows.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Not a bad flier, low risk with upside is a good way to fill holes

    ReplyDelete
  154. Nightman Cometh (if this isn't everyone's #1 they're stupid)
    The D.E.N.N.I.S. System
Dennis and Dee Go On Welfare
    CharDeeMacDennis
The Gang Gives Frank An Intervention

It's an impossible list to make though, it'd be way easier to do Top 5 Seasons

    ReplyDelete
  155. THIS IS SMALL POTATOES! YOU JUST WAIT AND SEE HOW FAR THEYRE GONNA GO

    ReplyDelete
  156. Night man Cometh and Chardee MacDennis are definitely in my Top 5.

Mine goes Nightman Cometh, Chardee MacDennis, The Gang Gets Held Hostage, Kitten Mittens, and Paddy's Pub Worst Bar in Philly.

That's off the top of my head though. That isn't official.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Same. I formulated a rough draft but it is NOT official.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Did I miss the Internet make a big deal about the 1987 SLAMMY AWARDS HITTING THE NETWORK?

    ReplyDelete
  159. I think I'll do a Top 5 from each season before doing Top 5 overall.

Top 5 overall just seems too daunting.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I propose the Nightman Cometh party, we seem to be very aligned on these issues.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Goon was great. He even made Balls Out watchable, and that could have been just terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  162. It's impossible, mine changes literally as I make the Top 5 List.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Shit I watch less nxt than 80% of the guys here and I'm still the only one who thinks zayn v Cesaro is the wwe moty?

    ReplyDelete
  164. It's the second MOTY.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I hope so! HHH and Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  166. "Hey NXT is our only source by the way, I mean there used to be the territories but I put them all out of business, heh."

In case you'd forgotten in this whole Punk podcast thing, Vince is still absolutely the fucking man lol.

    ReplyDelete
  167. The child pageant is top five for me, "These young girls - Whom I'm not attracted to! And.. that's just the way it is. They're over there. And I'm going to my dressing room over here." I realise that's not funny to read.

    Nightman Cometh, Chardee MacDennis...

The one where the McPoyles take them all hostage...

    The Christmas Episode.

For me, I'd take the first season over the most recent one...

    ReplyDelete
  168. For a skinny dude.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Do a Top 5 for each season. It's more manageable.

Top 5 Season 2: Charlie Gets Crippled, Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare, Hundred Dollar Baby, Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom, and Gang Runs for Office.

Mac Bangs Dennis' mom is tremendous.

    ReplyDelete
  170. He's such a fucking scumbag. God that interview annoyed the shit out of me.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I love Dee's version of that in Nightman Cometh, "Just to be clear, I do not like boys to be clear, I am attracted to men to be clear, not boys, just to be clear, I like men, and if men want my phone number it is available...."

    Hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Ouch. Don't let Marv hear you. I admitted Season 9 has 4 great episodes and he was still disappointed I underrated it.

I'd rather watch a dog lick it's balls than watch season 1.

    ReplyDelete
  173. He's no Ron Simmons.

    ReplyDelete
  174. If Vince could suck his own cock, he would.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Who are you to say he can't?

    ReplyDelete
  176. Vince seriously does seem like a guy who has given sucking his own cock a really determined try.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I've seen his ribcage!

    ReplyDelete
  178. That interview with Vince definitely confirmed for me the wwe will be shit for the foreseeable future. Thank god he sold me all the old stuff from when he wasn't a useless old man.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Any episode where Mac gets to work in a few of his sweet karate moves in to wow the audience, is always an upvote from me.

    ReplyDelete
  180. I don't think that's just a Vince thing.

  181. Stranger in the AlpsDecember 3, 2014 at 6:34 PM

Damn, my lower back tooth on the left side is higher than it's counterpart on the right. Dare I say I have some swelling?

Time for a trip to Isaac Yankem's office, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  182. What happens if Cena somehow suffers an injury that doesn't allow him to wrestle again or bolts for Hollywood?

    ReplyDelete
  183. Stranger in the AlpsDecember 3, 2014 at 6:36 PM

    Randy Orton.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Season 2 Top 5:

Dennis and Dee Go On WElfare
Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody's Ass
Dennis and Dee Get A New Dad (the getting hard bit destroys every time)
    The Gang Goes Jihad
    Mac Bangs Dennis' Mom

    ReplyDelete
  185. I think Scott pays more attention to the evening threads than Ted Turner paid to wcw. I love how Vince acts like that's who he was up against in direct competition.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Stranger in the AlpsDecember 3, 2014 at 6:37 PM

Vince told Turner that they were in different businesses.

    ReplyDelete
  187. All professional wrestling ends forever.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Ooh. The New Dad one was tough to leave off my list.

"Don't come back here without anything shoved up those asses!"

    ReplyDelete
  189. Stephen A's contract is almost up and he's reportedly playing hardball with ESPN. One can only dream they let him walk. Downside is Fox News loves him. I don't watch that channel but I think he'd fit right in.
