I hate you all. But I also appreciate you all.

    Happy Thursday!

NXT has come so far in just a year. Sami NEEDS to win tonight. I'm so excited.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I made it through episode 1 of Arrow last night! I'm building momentum!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 5:23 PM

Finally! I'm watching last night's episode now.

    ReplyDelete
  5. It's so crazy. RAW is a nearly unbearable chore, but NXT is almost always fun to watch. Do you think it's mainly the nature of it being such a short, zippy show?

    ReplyDelete
  6. When you stop watching are you creating separation?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm still debating on getting Rumble tickets. I need to wash the taste of Chris Benoit winning out of my mouth.

I also should go to another Survivor Series and wash the taste of that horrid Batista/Booker main event out of my mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yep. Almost every week you could carve out a pretty good 90-minute show out of a three-hour Raw (maybe not so much the last couple months, but generally speaking).

    ReplyDelete
  9. This is a great month to be a Network subscriber.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'm actually more invested in most of the NXT characters, though, too. I wonder if that's also because of oversaturation/burnout.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Weekly wrestling shows are not meant to be three hours long

    ReplyDelete
  12. The Rumble is a must attend event

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm really looking forward to this show tonight. The previous NXT specials have been well worth going out of your way to see.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It totally is. Someone should write about this! http://placetobenation.com/pro-wrestlings-disease-of-more/

    ReplyDelete
  15. Agreed, I've been to two (2004 & 2008) and it's a blast in person. If you've never been, go.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Did I just psychically plagiarize you?

    ReplyDelete
  17. HURRY UP! I am DYING to talk to someone about it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 5:29 PM

    15-20 minutes

    ReplyDelete
  19. Haha, no. I was far from the first person to have that thought. There are no new thoughts.

    ReplyDelete
  20. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 5:29 PM

LeBron is out tonight so I'll be watching Nxt

    ReplyDelete
  21. I was at 08. And also 11.So much fun

    ReplyDelete
  22. Aw, shitty. I DVRed that game and everything. Still gonna have to wait until tomorrow to watch NXT, though. Drank time tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah, I loved the 04 Rumble live.

Money's the issue at the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 5:30 PM

Honestly, since I cut the cord and watch Raw on Hulu Tuesday mornings, I've thought the show has been great. So much easier to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Eeriest episode of Raw you ever went to?

I was at the Raw in 2003 that not only was main evented by Chris Jericho and Kevin Nash with the story being could Jericho "tear" Nash's quad, but also featured the very last television appearances of Road Warrior Hawk and Classy Freddie Blassie.

    ReplyDelete
  26. That was a good read, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  27. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 5:32 PM

My self imposed two week suspension from drinking tonight ended today. I'm excited.

    ReplyDelete
  28. NXT Should be a fun show tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  29. FILLER!

(this will not likely be a thing tomorrow. so I might as well get the last mileage out of it now.)

    ReplyDelete
  30. D-Von...get the tables!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 5:33 PM

It's weird, before Batman Begins, I always pictured Ra's al Ghul (and it's pronounced Raish, not the plural of Rah) as less white...

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think I am going sober once 2015 hits. I barely drink as it is anymore and I am going on a cleanse then will eat vegan for the month of January and take it from there.

    ReplyDelete
  33. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 5:33 PM

Why is Alex Riley THE Analyst? Can't he just be WWE Analyst Alex Riley?

    ReplyDelete
  34. With an American as apple pie name like that? Pishaw boy!

    ReplyDelete
  35. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 5:34 PM

    Any reason why?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Even when it's bad it's still light years ahead of RAW.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I believe in the comics he was more arabic/middle eastern.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The Ascension seem like they'll be a big bust at the WWE level.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm currently creating separation. I'll continue as soon as RAW rolls on.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Same here. I heard it sold out, too...not the case?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Now he knows not to touch a princess.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 5:36 PM

Yes, he is, which is where my pre-supposition comes from. That, and the Batman Animated Series. I love the hell out of Arrow, but it would have been nice if they strayed from the Nolan-verse for this.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The night time thread always seems more sophisticated. More adult. None of the drama that the daily update brings.

    ReplyDelete
  44. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 5:36 PM

I think they'll bomb as well.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well, he is the king

    ReplyDelete
  46. Huge bust. They have no chance.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't watch the weekly shows so I don't know but... has Sushi Eggroll been feuding with the Ascension since the day he debuted?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Much like Reigns, first match they go that's not a squash they'll be immediately exposed.

Shame, too...I like the name and overall concept for the group.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm scared that Balor and Itami will become a really good tag team and they'll end up teaming for a long time instead of them working as singles guys.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Kobe saw Melo and the Knicks dysfunction and said to himself, "We can't catch anyone in the standings but no one will beat us in in-fighting!"

    ReplyDelete
  51. Did they announce who Owens opponent will be?

    ReplyDelete
  52. As much of a longshot as it is, if that happens and it helps spur on a tag division resurgence then I would be alright with it. Devitt's got too good a look though for them not to want to push him at least.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Christ, hearing talk radio fuck with that story was a fun ride to the market last night.

    ReplyDelete
  54. My heart has been doing weird stuff all day. It doesn't hurt or anything but it's kind of scaring me how it's all jumpy and stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Probably CJ Parker.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Drink any caffeine today, not get enough sleep, or under a lot of stress?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Any RedSox, A's or Reds fans here that can give me the 411 on Cespedes and Simone?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sami Zayn looks like Seth Rogen if he had a Chris Pratt-like health and body makeover.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I don't see anything wrong with that. It may give Itami a better shot of adjusting.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Didn't drink any caffeine, slept about 6 hours and don't feel too stressful.

    ReplyDelete
  61. One part of the Punk podcast that stood out for me but has seemed to gotten lost under the higher profile stuff is that Punk was offended by being asked to "piss in a cup" for his drug testing. Because as he was drug free, he shouldn't have to prove it when theres other guys who have been on strikes in the company.
After hearing that part of the podcast I started wondering if he was on something that the test would pick up on. It might also account for his mood swings.

    ReplyDelete
  62. He's sooo lucky to still be employed

    ReplyDelete
  63. In all fairness to him, he is REALLY good at anal.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Let's talk about this movie "Exodus" though...

    ReplyDelete
  65. Peeing in a cup doesn't determine if you're an asshole.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think his issue was more that he was really unwell with the staph infection and they wouldn't treat that.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Man, that guy would be in all the movies.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 5:42 PM

I don't think Punk is on anything. But he is a holier-than-thou shit heel who legit thinks he's better than everyone else and was insulted by being asked to do something when some other people didn't have to.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Better overall performer: HHH or John Cena?

    ReplyDelete
  70. I think it's because I have been thinking about the future and life in general and how I should take care of my body as much as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Wait the Graves guy is legit hurt to the point that he has to retire?

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'm eating cheese on crackers as I type.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Why is it that they can make NXT look so awesome and yet their main program feels like shit? I am finding myself getting legitimately pumped for tonight's show, and I don't even follow NXT regularly.

    ReplyDelete
  74. That's been quite a while... seems kinda weak.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Depends on who's cup you're pissing in.

    ReplyDelete
  76. HHH, I have as evidence his God run from 2000-2001.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Multiple concussions to the point he is at risk

    ReplyDelete
  78. piss off, homo.

    ReplyDelete
  79. career- HHH
    Current - Cena

    ReplyDelete
  80. Damn that's a tough break he looks pretty young.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Because they only have to fill an hour a week. It's a lot easier to keep things fresh and be creative when you sit down to book the show knowing you need to fill an hour.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I stopped watching during the reign of terror and stopped watching at the height of Cen-mania. What I'm saying is their primes are horrible but they are manageable when the entire show doesn't revolve around them. I kinda no-sold the question but yeah

    ReplyDelete
  83. My best guess? Bad timing. He's just come to you with these problems, and NOW you want him to take a piss test? Should have done that the night before, or maybe AFTER talking the problems through.

Fatigue and anger do NOT need chemical assistance to come through, and make someone possibly seem like they are on drugs.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Who is he? Pre-WWE name change?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Excellent.
I really don't drink as much as I used to. My girlfriend has been sober for almost a year now, so I never really drink during the week. That's what pot is for. I still have a handful of ales of the pale India variety most weekends, but I have a rare weekday off tomorrow so tonight is drinky.

    ReplyDelete
  86. He wasn't that good, so I'm not got miss his work.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Here's my response: use their time better. They have so many people going to waste; imagine if they actually structured their program to get fresh faces and ideas onscreen. If three hours are here to stay, then use it for some good.

    ReplyDelete
  88. It's more of shooting the breeze rather than arguing about booking, hence the change in tone.

    ReplyDelete
  89. No, Regal was a power hungry dick.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Triple H. With no disrespect to Cena. Triple H's peaks have been higher while Cena has been more consistent. I take Triple H.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I hear you on that one. I'm trying to gradually cut most fast food out of my diet. I drink so infrequently these days that I'm fine with keeping that around at its current levels.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Cespedes is a solid outfielder with a CANNON for an arm who hits for good power. Don't know too much about Simone.

    ReplyDelete
  93. He has been around for a long time. He used to wrestle as Sterling James Keenan on the indies. He looked like a 150lbs version of Johnny Nitro when he started out.

    ReplyDelete
  94. HHH. The only thing about him that really actually sucks is his ego...which causes everything else to suck sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Itami has not impressed at all in NXT. Needs to adjust to WWE style still.

    ReplyDelete
  96. And was acting like a bland version of CM Punk.

    ReplyDelete
  97. He sounds like he can talk, so hopefully he can find his groove as a commentator. Lord knows they need the help.

    ReplyDelete
  98. "Too much effort. Also, fuck you."

-Do I need to say who?

    ReplyDelete
  99. I have been living off crappy food for the past several weeks and I feel like shit as a result. Now that I am all settled and less stressed, its time to get healthy again.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Wow Brennan looks exactly like Cole.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 5:48 PM

    Damn, that's a cold response.

    ReplyDelete
  102. This is like a breath of fresh air; I wish they would adopt some of these aesthetic values for Raw.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Man this crowd is pretty hot here at Takeover. Seated 3rd route opposite the stage, in my pink bunny kigu and Sami Zayn shirt. So pumped!

    ReplyDelete
  104. And if they were true pros, they would know that these shows need to be filler.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I'm a asshole sometimes, I admit.

    ReplyDelete
  106. That's some good seats. I do hope the show is at least as good.

    ReplyDelete
  107. So, if Sami loses and moves up to the main roster, does he carry a choker label with him? Vince will think that nobody will know him at all (as evidenced by his idiotic decision with the Charlotte match on RAW) so it doesn't matter, but will it? I think he'll be a MEGA babyface akin to Bryan now, he's just so dang likable, but a choker label can really hold you back...

    ReplyDelete
  108. Was that announced? No homo n all, but the man was beautiful. I don't think he had much ability, but he had a good look.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Sami has to win; this show feels too well put together to not have him finally go over.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Is Sasha Banks competent in the ring? I know Charlotte is going to be solid moving forward, but I don't know much about the other women they have coming up the ranks.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Do any of you motherfuckers like fish sticks?

    ReplyDelete
  112. I wanna agree but...WWE.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I'm trying to pretend that NXT is in its own little anti-Vince bubble.

    ReplyDelete
  114. This is NXT, the booking makes sense here.

    ReplyDelete
  115. She oozes charisma and knows how to hang, has potential to be a great heel.

    ReplyDelete
  116. It's been slipping though...maybe not as much as Scott fears, but it's not like it was last year either.

    ReplyDelete
  117. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 5:52 PM

    Sami Luger?

    ReplyDelete
  118. the first question should be do you like fish?
And the joke only works when verbal.

    ReplyDelete
  119. How hard will the WWE Universe collectively shit their pants at Balor's full body paint tonight? Should be special stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  120. According to PWInsider.com, the show is opening with Kevin Owens (Steen) debut.

    ReplyDelete
  121. They tape four(?) shows at a time so they have to think about a month's worth of development at once. This means they have another month's gap to think about the next batch of tapings. Quarterly specials mean they have to (or can) think carefully about the card and what it will mean going forward. And so on.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Sasha's okay, I believe. If I recall correctly, she actually worked some indies, so it's not like she was someone given a free tryout.

I don't know. Her nose is a little weird, but I find her extremely attractive. Can't wait for Alexa and her to get promoted.

    ReplyDelete
  123. That's... that's got to be what he's talking about, right? The bodypaint HAS to debut tonight.

And yes, I will mark the fuck out like a moe.

    ReplyDelete
  124. NXT IYH: Learnin' how to work

    ReplyDelete
  125. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 5:54 PM

HHH. Cena can't touch his peak.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Pie eating contest open? You can tell HHH is running things down there. Burying guys from the jump.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Geez, there's a lot of men that look good than him, no homo at all.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Yes, she can cut a hell of a promo.

    ReplyDelete
  129. It's just that im watching the episode now, calm down chief.

    ReplyDelete
  130. But what will it look like? I'm hoping he has john CENA painted on himself. That's main event push worthy.

    ReplyDelete
  131. So is this show an nxt version of a ppv?

    ReplyDelete
  132. If they give a damn about the girls, Charlotte/Bailey/Sasha can be a classic feud on the main roster. But Vince has the mindset of a old southern man.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Clash of the champions.

    ReplyDelete
  134. NXT version of a network event.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I'm wagering the Venom look, because comic books and all that.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I hope he doesn't say Dave, David, observe, or Meltzer in his promo...otherwise, they might not report on it. Maybe they'll just describe the way he talks instead

    ReplyDelete
  137. You lucky bastard. Have fun!

    ReplyDelete
  138. I'm conflicted about Zayn. I want to see him win the NXT title and feud with Owens, Kenta, and Balor...but I kinda want him to lose so that he can come on up to the main roster. He'd be such a breath of fresh air on Raw.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Let's what he'll use as finisher, he can't use the piledriver.

    ReplyDelete
  140. You move those girls up to the main roster along with AJ, Paige, Naomi, Natty, and Summer Rae (as a mouthpiece), they can give them a half hour on Raw every week.

    ReplyDelete
  141. He likes grits and hates the blacks?

    ReplyDelete
  142. I think it'd make the most sense to keep Neville as champ and send Zayn up. Neville has a definite ceiling because he just ... looks funny. He's IC champ at best. Zayn could actually be a star on the next level.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Enjoy him on nxt, chances are they won't know how to use him properly on raw.

    ReplyDelete
  144. He'll get lost in the shuffle, the NXT guys should stay there forever.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I'd be shocked if he DOESN'T become a star.

    ReplyDelete
  146. This kind of self inflicted career match would be a brilliant thing to see on the main WWE roster, taking a frustrated guy on a losing streak and giving him a big match on a PPV to push him over the top with the crowd. Cesaro would rock that.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Stay in NXT. He'd get lost in the shuffle of returning faces soon. There's still lots of time for him.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Sterling James Keenan.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Still sucks for such a young guy to be done for that reason.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Who is the new announcer guy? Is he any good?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Anybody know how much money the NXT performers make? It's gotta be more than the developmental types in years past because now they're on video games, on "TV" every week, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I haven't been this excited for a pro wrestling show since WrestleMania. Fuck Yeah!

    ReplyDelete
  153. I read it was huge amount more than random indy bookings were earning the, but I don't remember any figures.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Kill, Steen, kill

    oh wait. Fight, Owens, fight.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Killstein, kill!

    ReplyDelete
  156. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 6:02 PM

Sasha Banks is hot. I'm just worried she resembles Cameron too much.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Virgil's Gimmick TableDecember 11, 2014 at 6:02 PM

I do. They can get everything across more concisely and directly and no one wears out their welcome like on the main shows.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Hey, look. Another guy in NXT that looks nothing like a WWE wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Virgil's Gimmick TableDecember 11, 2014 at 6:03 PM

    I'd say about tree fiddy.

    ReplyDelete
  160. STEEN IS SO FAT!

    #RIPFARVA

    ReplyDelete
  161. Never seen Steen/Owens before. Who's a good comparison for him?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Cactus Jack as heel.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Been working' on den arms like Ambrose has I see.

    ReplyDelete
  164. If this were Raw, Owens would lose in 2 minutes. Let's see what they do here!

    ReplyDelete
  165. Last I remember hearing was the women making more than the men because they required more "maintenance", but nothing concrete IIRC.

    ReplyDelete
  166. In the same WWE mindset in which Eva Marie looked too much like a Bella, sure.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 6:03 PM

Anyone notice how Steen/Owens kinda looks like Meekin?

    ReplyDelete
  168. He reminds me of Hugh Morris in his look actually.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Yes. Which is a terrible thing.

    ReplyDelete
  170. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 6:04 PM

Like a generic Indy guy? I'd have to imagine Styles would take a payout going to NXT

    ReplyDelete
  171. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessDecember 11, 2014 at 6:04 PM

It threw me off when he walked out.

    ReplyDelete
  172. He's very good for a guy his size; used to tag team with Sami Zayn in ROH.

    ReplyDelete
  173. He's really a throwback to those 70s wrestlers, but with an updated moveset.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Stranger in the AlpsDecember 11, 2014 at 6:04 PM

    KEVIN OWENS ATE SAMOA JOE!!

    ReplyDelete
  175. Was he ever WWE? Not being a dick; just not sure.

    ReplyDelete
  176. The hippie guy isn't a hippie anymore? Or is he? I'm confused.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Definitely. He's gone from fat fuck to burly guy.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Did he come out with shit stains on his pants?

    ReplyDelete
  179. So, say Zayn comes up to the main roster, describe how WWE Creative would totally neuter the character.

I say they have someone like Miz call him a nerdy ginger, and then loses to Miz in 18 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  180. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 6:05 PM

    Yeah my point.

    ReplyDelete
  181. My video feed keeps freezing on me

    ReplyDelete
  182. Goddamn loch ness monsters always wantin tree fiddy.

    ReplyDelete
  183. This will be my first ever Steen match.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Mine too. He kinda reminds me of Bray Wyatt as a face.

    ReplyDelete
  185. I smell Fried Squash cooking at NXT.

    ReplyDelete
  186. AJ styles is already a big name and thus is only taking the big value bookings, the majority of indy wrestlers especially the guys on their way up are not earning huge amounts.

    ReplyDelete
  187. MikeyMike, JuggernautDecember 11, 2014 at 6:06 PM

    Okay that was fuckjng awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Check on youtube, El generico/Steen fight with no honor.

    ReplyDelete
  189. As much as he clowns Jacques Rougeau, you can tell he was trained to *work* rather than wrestle.
