  1. Anybody seen footage of Cody Hall? I'm wondering how much of it is his talent and how much is the name.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Oh please no. Not the Dudley's.

An act that was BEYOND stale a decade ago, coming back into a non-division? No thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  3. He has good size and build and with his last name, that always gets you in the door.

    ReplyDelete
  4. /Vince Mode: On

They should put more NXT talents in the Royal Rumble. Then they can bury MORE of them all at once for DARING to put on a better product than WWE!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Is it any worse that new age outlaws?

    ReplyDelete
  6. At least the Dudleys - certainly Bubba - can still do something worthwhile.

    ReplyDelete
  7. "Hey guys! I've spent the last three years developing this amazing new heel character, did you see any of it?"
    "No"
"Is it okay if I use any of it?"
    "No"
"So I'll just say wasssup and maybe get the tables then?"
    "Yep"

    ReplyDelete
  8. Bubba and Velvet would be good as a heel duo. I am fine leaving D-Von behind.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I wouldn't mind Bully Ray coming back, to see what he could do with that character in the big leagues, but there is no need for them to come back as a team.

    ReplyDelete
  10. "How do you feel about working with bunnies?"

    ReplyDelete
  11. If they show up for a couple of matches a year, and get absolutely squashed by a hot young act at Mania, then they can come back.

If they are on my TV getting tables week in and week out, they can eff off.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I take it back. I would also welcome back the Dudley's if they came back to squash Ascension.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Dudleys should come back in the Rumble and they'll get a huge Philly pop.

Then they should do a mini-program with The Ascension and put them over.

This can all be used to promote ECW Unreleased Vol. 3, which comes out in April

    ReplyDelete
  14. You kind of need them to come back for the nostalgia pop, and then use Bubba more prominently in singles. I'm sure the Hardys and Dudleys would get a bigger pop as a team, and then after you can put Bubba and Jeff on Raw and slide D'Von and Matt on SmackDown (yes I understand that SmackDown "matters" now just)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Those damn Dudley's!

    ReplyDelete
  16. They come back, get beat at Mania, split thanks to Bubba and Bubba becomes Bully Ray and D'Von rides off into the sunset.

    ReplyDelete
  17. You would never succeed in the WWE offices. Way too much logic here.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The biggest problem that I have with this is that Ascension gets put over, and that is contrary to good programming.

    ReplyDelete
  19. She gorgeous though. Better before the face work though. Her leaked nude was pretty stellar.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Welcome to the Blog of Doom, JBL!

    ReplyDelete
  21. So.... Can we stop pretending that the Patriots are the class of the league now?

Goodell will just sweep this under the rug though.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Knowing WWE, they'll put Bull Dempsey and Baron Corbin in the Rumble.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Will the fans start counting out loud when Corbin gets in the ring?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Before they left, The Dudleys were, in my mind, perhaps the stalest act in wrestling history. An act that you could literally do NOTHING new with, and nothing that wouldn't be painfully dull.

Now, that title has been gleefully inherited by Big Show and Kane. I respect both, but there are no two men in wrestling today whom I wish would retire more.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Knowing Vince, the nxt guys will be used for gag eliminations after 30 seconds in the ring.

    ReplyDelete
  26. At this point I (selfishly) hope the NXT talent stays in NXT and continues to deliver awesome shows. And I wish that Cesaro, Ziggler, and Ambrose would head back to NXT and go back to being awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Bill Belichick plays the game the right way."

Has any NFL coach in recent history been involved in as many scandals or rumors of scandals as Belichick?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I figured they didn't have plans for Rusev when he got eliminated so quickly last year. Granted, it wasn't a comedy elimination, and it took, like, 5 guys to dump him, but he really didn't do much. I don't think he even eliminated anybody.

    ReplyDelete
  29. That's what I mean, they were SO done at the end of their run. They had burned every last fume of gas in the tank. They'll get a nostalgia pop for sure, but damned if there's anything for them beyond that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. One place where I'm surprised wwe doesn't do any more ppvs is England? They could do it like at 4pm eastern and show it on the network.
I think the last real one (not uk only ones) was summerslam 1992

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's unfortunate that Adam Rose probably won't be in the Rumble. It would be amazing if he got tossed out and the Rosebuds caught him and tossed him back in.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Best team for the last 15 years. Air pressure and taping the sidelines during games mean nothing. This is just a fake ESPN cycle story.

    ReplyDelete
  33. "D-VON!"
    "WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!"
    "GET THE E-I CHEQUES!"

    ReplyDelete
  34. Pete Carroll. Scandals at 2 places

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would be 100% behind a Bully Ray singles run. In fact, even when he was in WWE, I BADLY wanted him to be a single, since I really enjoyed his brief 2002/2003 face run. But they just never saw anything in him without D-Von, which is a shame. I probably would actually enjoy seeing them back as a tag team now because it's been so long and because WWE needs tag teams, but I'd definitely prefer a Bully Ray singles run.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sure, its nothing. Its so nothing that the government had to get involved and evidence was promptly and efficiently destroyed.

    ReplyDelete
  37. TNA’s rating wasn’t bad, relatively speaking. I thought they would dip slightly. The next tapings are going to look good in front of the UK crowds, but the big test will be in March when we see however many people they can draw for the following set of tapings. If people still don’t care enough to come, I’d say they’re a lost cause.

    ReplyDelete
  38. So why were they called up in the first place?

    ReplyDelete
  39. They played with the same fucking balls. You don't lose by 40 and blame anyone but your shitty play.

    ReplyDelete
  40. OT: I know the Academy privileges "stars playing real people" in the lead categories, but I just realized that this year's nominations went overboard. Michael Keaton is the only nominee who is playing a fictional character. And even then, you could argue it's a very loosely autobiographical role.

    Let's go Batman.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Who cares? Cheating is cheating and the Patriots are constantly doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Is there any North American major place with a major stadium that hasn't hosted a wrestlemania?

I'm guessing best ones would be Charlotte, St. Louis, boston, San Diego, and Mexico City.

One place that would be awesome for wrestlemania is vegas.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Every big time college coach.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I love the joke competitors in the Rumble, because I feel like that's almost the only decent thing comedy characters are useful for these days -- a fun Rumble spot. Nobody thinks Adam Rose is going to win, but it'd be fun to see him eliminate himself during the entrance by going to the top rope, doing the trust fall, and the Rosebuds dropping him, or something.

Or having a party-off with The New Day or some shit.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah, I thought there'd be more of a chance of us getting one in the Network era, but not this year it seems. They could charge a lot and have a really hot crowd, but maybe there's other expenses making it not worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Most people who win oscars play a real person. People go, "that person really made me think he was lincoln"

    ReplyDelete
  47. I wrote "NFL" because I know the NCAA is full of scum and villainy.

I mean, you can't compare spying and deflated balls to covering up child rape (Penn State).

    ReplyDelete
  48. Vince sabotaging NXT guys is like cutting off your toes to spite your foot.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Randy Orton
In A Perpetual State of "BRB"

    ReplyDelete
  50. Did you see Mania 9? It wasn't that good.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Pretty much. Last person to win Best Actor for playing a fictional person was Jean Dujardin in The Artist.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I don't know. I agree that was dumb. They should have been released if that's the best that can be done with them.

That team, as they are, is embarrassing to watch. I realize that a very good piece of that is out of the wrestlers hands, but regardless of fault, that team needs to die.

You come out with a stupid ankh or something painted on your face, looking doughy as hell, and name dropping legends? Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Because they held it in like 1000 seat place; hold it at MGM garden arena or other places they do for modern day big fights.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It would be even cooler if there were no goofy elimination teases at all. If everyone who got thrown over the top either made it back in under the ropes, or was just eliminated.

Also, if whoever came up with the Adam Rose and the Rosebuds gimmick was shipped to Guantanamo Bay for some enhanced interrogation and rectal feeding.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Screw Vegas, they get enough fight action as it is. Silly UFC with their Vegas hard-on. It's been a year since UFC bothered to come over here after making a big fuss about it's European expansion program.

    ReplyDelete
  56. It would be cool, but I think the days of Mania in mid-size arenas are gone for the time being. They've done Manias in 70,000+ stadiums since 2006.

    ReplyDelete
  57. yeah they could fill ceasar's to the rafters

    ReplyDelete
  58. RomanReignsFutureWWECHAMPIONJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:36 AM

Its a shame Mojo Rawley is hurt...I think he wouldve been the perfect NXT guy for the Rumble...I predict that Mojo will make his main roster debut at next years Royal Rumble, he will win it, and headline WM 32 in Dallas..

    ReplyDelete
  59. "The people are hanging from the rafters...although this Roman coliseum
doesn't have rafters...but it has columns, and people are hanging from
    them."

    ReplyDelete
  60. RomanReignsFutureWWECHAMPIONJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:38 AM

I heard the UFC was excited about expanding in Europe until they realized that Europe is full of third world countries..

    ReplyDelete
  61. That's a surefire way to fill a 90k+ seats!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I think Mojo needs to be part of a tag team with someone else who's similarly excitable. Just pair them up and call'em The Hype Train.

    ReplyDelete
  63. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:39 AM

He hadn't been as hot as he was before leaving in a while too. Hopefully they don't just forget about how he was acting because crazy Orton promos> "My name...is Randy Orton..." Promos

    ReplyDelete
  64. They're forcing the Swedes to attend a live event that runs from about midnight to 5am because they realised that having a big European star fight in his hometown, the point of this whole expansion, absolutely HAS to air live late night in the US. Pretty much everything UFC does is dumb these days.

    ReplyDelete
  65. RomanReignsFutureWWECHAMPIONJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:40 AM

If Mojo wins the WWE Title the whole arena will be HYPED!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. The Colts used different balls.

Obviously the Colts would have lost anyway, but just because they suck doesn't mean the Pats didn't cheat.

    ReplyDelete
  67. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:41 AM

Scott Hall is the second or third most important member of the nWo. His son is like the VK Wallstreet of Bullet Club.

    ReplyDelete
  68. He's clearly third, let's not kid ourselves.

    ReplyDelete
  69. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:42 AM

I was torn between him and Big Bubba at two.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hall was more than a decade into the business when he did the NWO. His son is a rookie. Let's see what he's got.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:44 AM

I saw one match with him that was absolute shit, but that was like 3 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I did not care at all for his singles run in WWE but the Bully Ray stuff has been decent from what I've seen, and he's in good shape, so I could take him back as a single.

    ReplyDelete
  73. WWE has the weirdest boner for having everyone start off their promo with "My name is..."

Like they don't expect their fans to have enough of an attention span to remember what people's names are. Or they're expecting a huge influx of new viewers every week, so they want everyone to know the names of the superstars or some shit.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Still getting the title on Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Does Mexico City have a stadium?

And as a follow up, is it safe, or is it likely to fall down?

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think WWE is probably done giving Jeff Hardy chances in the ring. I'm sure they will put him in the Hall of Fame one day and all, but he burned them too many times with his addiction bullshit and hasn't been much cleaner in TNA. Who knows if he can even pass a piss test.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Bullet Club is up to 37 guys at this point, aren't they?

    ReplyDelete
  78. RomanReignsFutureWWECHAMPIONJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:48 AM

I think the WWE misused Big Vito....He shouldve had at least one run with the WWE Title... He was great on the mic, great worker,he had a great attitude, and would do anything asked of him...He proved himself as an up and coming star in ECW and WCW but the WWE dropped the ball with him, BIG TIME...I think Vito could've been like a modern day Bruno Sammartino and could've really gotten over with the Italian crowds, especially in New York.. Vito deserved a shot to headline Madison Square Garden but the WWE stole that moment from him and instead of giving him his moment they made him work through some horrible concussions.....Makes me sick when I see the WWE misuse and mistreat a world class athlete like Big Vito..

    ReplyDelete
  79. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:48 AM

    I think she's a smoke show.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Actually, it's more pathetic if you cheat against a team that you clearly could beat without cheating.

It's like playing hide and seek with your 3 year old kid and cheating.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:48 AM

Yes, I think it's the second biggest in the world after the one in North Korea.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Uhh, isn't Cody considered the young boy of the Bullet Club? It makes perfect sense.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Right... it is just stupid and arrogant. All it does is trash your own legacy as well as your HOF QB.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessJanuary 21, 2015 at 7:49 AM

If the Dudleys do come back on Sunday, I hope they're used to interfere in the Ascension-NAO match. Introducing them one at a time during the Rumble match would feel a bit anti-climactic. But if they put the NAO through some tables, giving the Ascension the win, that could get a nice pop.

    ReplyDelete
  85. At least the Zeb Colter promos leading up to Mexico City WrestleMania would be hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Well, maybe they're going outside the box this year, but I'm thinking they're probably gonna have matches and not just sell tickets to see the set.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I still buy everything on blu-ray because I'm a collector and a lot of that stuff is not all on the Network, but if it's just a PPV on DVD I sure don't.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Are you seriously saying that Abe Lincoln vs Hank Thompson at the Black Hawk Indian Rumble was not a 5 * affair? You better get with it man!

    ReplyDelete
  89. If this doesn't bring Austin back for one last match nothing does.

    ReplyDelete
  90. If he'll do it, Austin kicking the shit out of Cena will draw in Texas.

    ReplyDelete
  91. You have every DVD that comes out?

    ReplyDelete
  92. I watch old VHS tapes or YouTube. I didn't spend all that time dubbing tapes for nothing. Network not needed.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Hmm. I was there and didn't notice.

I can assure you 28 was not. 27 probably was.

    ReplyDelete
  94. With the right opponent and build, yes, Rock could fill that, because he's a bigger draw in 2015 than Steve Austin is.

    ReplyDelete
  95. And I'll be perfectly fine with it.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Papered doesn't mean empty, just means tickets weren't sold and they were literally giving away to fill it. You wouldn't notice

    ReplyDelete
  97. I used to, but I've sold a lot of them off in the last few years. Now I just have almost all of the Blu-Ray releases, except for a few semi-recent ones.

    ReplyDelete
  98. It will honestly have to be a fantasy card to LEGIT sell out. That's asking a lot with the current product. Gotta assume Austin will work the card, & any combo of HHH, Rock, HBK, Batista, Lesnar, RVD, Y2J & the current players from the Attitude Era like Show & Kane. Who knows maybe Hardy or Angle will be available. Big names only, even curtain jerking.
Cena v Bryan will probably open.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I don't think they could get 100k if they have tix away for free. Just not enough demand to see the product.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Disagree, but okay.

    ReplyDelete
  101. They'd be foolish to book an stadium like Jerry World and not be in the process of making a full-court press to court Austin.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Is there an early front-runner? I'd be down for another Seattle WM.

    ReplyDelete
  103. The big news in the article was that WWE stock dropped to $9.97, which means you can buy a share of WWE stock for less than the WWE Network! What a deal!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Maybe overall, but in Texas? Nah, no way.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Or Undertaker is going to team with Shawn Michaels to take on the Von Erichs with Terry Funk as special guest ref.

Trying to think of a more Texan combo.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I don't think any setup will allow for 100k seats unless they sell upper deck seats behind the stage, which they rarely do. So I'm guessing 80k to 85k is the best they can do in any circumstance.

WeestleMania 23 drew a legit 74,687 (announced at 80,103, truthfully 68,500 paid) and really nothing has come close to that even in the modern era. I don't see them papering their way up to 85k and certainly not any higher unless they are gonna count it like the NBA All Star game there where they were counted people outside not even in the stadium.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Yeah most of the last ones have been papered by 5k to 10k seats and also announced about 10k higher than the real numbers.
