And as usual, talk about anything else going on tonight.

Comments

  1. Who's the bitterest man in the living room? The bitterest man in the living room.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I guess I'm just not an NWA guy because I enjoyed SummerSlam 89 more than Great American Bash 89. NWA fans, COME AT ME BROS!

    ReplyDelete
  3. My rearranged living room is awesome. It should have been really obvious to set up the room this way. I certainly am not excited for the Rumble Lottery.

    ReplyDelete
  4. My only hurdle with watching Foley promos these days is that now that I've
become a huge fan of Friends, I can't help but notice the fact that
Mick Foley and Ross have the EXACT same voice and Long Island accent.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm a WWF guy. I enjoy great WWF much more over great any other wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Going to a new spot for an open mic blues jam tonight. They apparently have discounted chicken wings too. Seems legit.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Reading about the concussion lawsuit filed against WWE, this got a chuckle out of me:

"WWE has never concealed any medical information related to concussions, or otherwise, from our (performers). WWE was well ahead of sports organizations in implementing concussion management procedures and policies as a precautionary measure as the science and research on this issue emerged."

    el oh fucking el

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yeah, every time I've tried to watch the heralded NWA stuff, I've enjoyed them but didn't think they were anything special. I'm conditioned on the Northeastern style of wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  9. The presentation means a lot of to me. Big, brightly lit arenas with Jesse > over small, dimly lit arena and Bob fucking Caudle.

    ReplyDelete
  10. When Paige debuted I didn't find her very attractive, maybe because she's not the "type" I typically swoon over.

But man, she's really grown on me. Sexy as hell.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Her hair and fashion choices have helped. The all black outfits complement her perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Pausing Clash 8 to watch Pens/Flyers. Go Pens!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Watching hulu Raw. None of the legends picked Roman Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYtA2JFY9Xc

The better version of Austin's theme from 96-late 98. Those drums make me want to kick somebody's ass and flip the bird.

    ReplyDelete
  15. She's been squatting and eating more. It's great.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Another paper down, gotta walk the puppy then it's time for Rumble 10

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nothing like rigging a 4000 lb piece of equipment from 30' away and following that by rigging a 7400 lb piece of equipment to get the shoulders and back nice and loose.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Seriously, watch an episode of Friends, then watch a Foley promo, and then try to get the image of Ross tearing somebody up with barbed wire out of your head.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Just watched Foley's promo building ECW ONS 2006. Amazing.

"I blew the son of a bitch up in Japan and he hugged me! I set him on fire in Philadelphia and he put his arm around me"

    ReplyDelete
  20. The strange thing is, Foley actually hates that promo.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I was never able to stand Kurt Cobain even at the height of his popularity, but that Unplugged album is very listenable.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I remember reading that in one of his books. He just seemed really upset overall with how the angle played out.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah, Hardcore Diaries. Vince put the kibosh on a lot of their ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm watching Friends right now and just watched that Foley promo. I just don't hear it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:38 PM

Is this a good thing, a bad thing, desperation, what?

    http://www.newsarama.com/23276-the-marvel-universe-is-ending.html

    ReplyDelete
  26. AIC's unplugged album is very good too.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I always hated that one. Really generic. I like the "evil" remix of his main theme more.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:39 PM

    Best of the Unplugged's.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Good thing for me as I was considering jumping back in to comics and didn't know where to start.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think it's more noticeable when he's speaking in his whiny Mankind voice.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Definitely my favorite Austin theme. Rock's theme from 98 is also his best.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The big pre-'90 NWA shows don't always really capture the excitement of their TV product. All steak--not enough sizzle.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:40 PM

Yeah, it does seem to be a good jumping in point. I might actually check this out, and I haven't read comics in years.

    ReplyDelete
  34. You base your wrestling on what you grow up with. I started with St. Louis, then NWA and WWF. I loved WWF as a kid, but even then NWA felt more real. Looking back I have trouble watching much old WWF. The matches and angles are by and large horrid. I ignore them for the commentary.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The one he debuted at Summerslam, right? That one is the fucking best. Fit his overblown, narcissistic character perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Although it would kinda suck for me because I was thinking of getting Marvel Unlimited and new comics don't show up there for 6 months.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:43 PM

Still haven't bought in with that app. Although I have it, and keep checking it for old stuff periodically.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think we're thinking of the same one.

    http://youtu.be/Z73sM7GBQho

    ReplyDelete
  39. With JCP you had to see the angle unfold. Their angles would span years so the PPV wasn't always a blowoff.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The reason I haven't yet is that it supposedly sucks on a lap top and I don't have an ipad.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I've been watching all their major shows since Starrcade 83 and I don't really find that true.

    ReplyDelete
  42. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:45 PM

Starting up No Way Out 02. After homeruns in 00 and 01 I feel that this will be a let down.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I've been mulling over whether to get the Unlimited App or not. I've got an iPhone im just really cheap so any money spending endeavor takes forever for me to decide whether to get it or not.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The Rock says.

    ReplyDelete
  45. It's not the worst show but it's up there as one of my least favorite shows ever.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:47 PM

Smackdown tapes in Austin tonight. Good choice.

    ReplyDelete
  47. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:47 PM

    Whys that?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Whose hands didn't the Ascension guys shake to get buried like that on Raw last night?

And there were like no matches on Hulu Raw today.

    ReplyDelete
  49. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:47 PM

Same. Probably my second favorite non big 4 behind Backlash 2000.

    ReplyDelete
  50. There were like no matches on USA Raw either.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I loved Pearl Jam's. It was done before their songs got all weird.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I fell asleep for a little bit during the opening promo (cause I'm, you know, human) and woke up with HHH and the Outisders and Shawn doing a backstage bit. I'm not going to bother going back to rewatch and see if the Daniel Bryan/Bray Wyatt match made the cut.

    ReplyDelete
  53. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:49 PM

If you were following the end of WCW this WWF nWo debut comes off as awkward. At least it did for 14 year old me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I can't believe I actually filed the police report. Has anyone done this before? It says when the report gets approved, they will e-mail me with a .pdf copy of it and go from there.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Nexus angle had such a potential, then CENAWINSLOL.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I like that idea... when it was called Crisis on Infinite Earths and DC did it 30 years ago.

Seriously, Joe Quesada did an interview like 10 years ago and said the day the regular and Ultimate Marvel Universes cross over is they day they've run out of ideas.

Marvel: The House (Out) of Ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I bought the VHS because looking at the card it seemed interesting. But everything is either boring or disappointing.

NWO debut was weak. Rock and Taker have anti-chemistry. Angle vs. HHH was decent. Austin vs. Jericho was pretty crappy and all three of those matches are long too. Then there's some random matches like a Tag Turmoil which is a gimmick I dislike.

Overall I am left bored by the show.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Just when I think that they've used up all the colors for Cena merchanside, they debut another color. Carolina blue, I guess?

    ReplyDelete
  59. You bought a VHS in 2002!?

    ReplyDelete
  60. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:51 PM

Hogan almost crying before he's about to speak seemed legit.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Because of Cena, we can't have anything nice.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Someone give me some good music ideas. I finally got an iPod Touch cord in the mail so I can add some new stuff to my iPod. I listen to everything.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Turn heel Cena, just look at Batista and his wardrobe.

    ReplyDelete
  64. You damn right I did! I think the last VHS I bought was No Mercy 2002 lol.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Cena(Vince).

    ReplyDelete
  66. Goddamnit, now you've got the paper trail built for when nothing happens and we're forced to make this guy's life hell.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Beirut, never gets old

    ReplyDelete
  68. Run The Jewels
    Diamond Head

    ReplyDelete
  69. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:53 PM

Shit I forgot about Rock Taker. I REALLY hated babyface HHH. And then he turned heel and somehow I hated him more.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It was flirting with *** but they took TWO commercial breaks during it, and disappointing finish.

    ReplyDelete
  71. The Murder City Devils
    Murder By Death
    Interpol
    Metric
    The Sounds
    Larry and His Flask
    Foxy Shazam
    Cadaver Dogs

    ReplyDelete
  72. Scarecrow Boat

    ReplyDelete
  73. Yep. It was just a bad time for the company and all the "big" matches/moments on the show fell flat.

    Taker/Rock goes 18 minutes!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Do you realize it took them nearly two months for the Big Show's most recent heel turn to lead to a Cena/Big Show match? That's like a record.

    ReplyDelete
  75. God Hates Figs

    ReplyDelete
  76. Punch face Champions.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah i watched the **** version last night from the 2014 Rumble, so why bother.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Just the Tip

    ReplyDelete
  79. RVD vs Goldust is surprisingly awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Fat, Ugly Inner-City SweathogJanuary 20, 2015 at 5:56 PM

Name one heel who made a surprisingly good babyface. I will throw Curt Hennig out there

    ReplyDelete
  81. I really like Five for Fighting.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Daniel Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think Rick Rude would have made a great face had he not got hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Penis Pendulum.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hrrrm.....bit SOON to be putting this out there, but whatever, WWE.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/wwe-the-destruction-of-the-shield-blu-ray-disc/2240424.p?id=3332290&skuId=2240424

    ReplyDelete
  86. Puppy Pendulum

    ReplyDelete
  87. His feuds with Michaels and Luger weren't anything special.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Undertaker. That turn he did on Jake was EPIC.

    And speaking of Jake....

    ReplyDelete
  89. That's nuts. Rude was the ultimate heel.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Possum Pendulum.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I recently discovered Amon Amarth. I dig them.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Whenever Razor was on TV, my mom would be surprised when I told her he was the good guy. So maybe Razor?

    ReplyDelete
  93. It's association with somebody I'm utterly sick of obscures the fact that My Time Is Now is actually a dope song

    ReplyDelete
  94. Kurt Angle.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I was referring to this version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0kFTwX-0Xo

    ReplyDelete
  96. Nothing Rhymes With Orange

    ReplyDelete
  97. That ones great too.

    ReplyDelete
  98. EVERYTHING rhymes with Orange.

    ReplyDelete
  99. This dog is lucky it didn't get named Sloppy Wet Nose Scrunchy Face Adorable

cuz that's what I call her.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Doesn't mean he wasn't a good babyface.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Yeah, sometimes I have trouble remember that Bryan is the same sniveling asshole he left Samoa Joe for dead in the ROH/CZW Cage of Death match

    ReplyDelete
  102. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:02 PM

    Batista.

    ReplyDelete
  103. What one thing should WWE get rid of to improve their product?

I think just getting rid of these bullshit handicap matches would improve things exponentially.

    ReplyDelete
  104. 20 minute promos, ta~da I saved the show!

    ReplyDelete
  105. The writing staff.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Anybody on the payroll that was never in the wrestling business previously.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I'm pissed at Shawn for not staying heel in 2005. He was so great as a heel at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  108. WCW Rude definitely had an anti-hero bent to him.

    ReplyDelete
  109. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:03 PM

The writing staff because they can turn potential stars into nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Watching this Santino Rumble thing, already got three pauses in less than a minute, does not bode well for a Rumble...

    ReplyDelete
  111. I'm perplexed by this comment given the setlist for that show. Songs about murder (Once), abortion (Portch), and Alive (incest) are the NON weird portion of their catalog?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Insisting on always having a heel GM or authority figure that dominates the show.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Rick Rude's "Simply Ravishing" WCW theme is stuck in my head. Probably the best WCW theme song ever.

    ReplyDelete
  114. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:04 PM

That Montreal promo is one of the best ever and if someone said the best ever I wouldn't have a problem with it.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I like The Pic Called Sting personally.

    ReplyDelete
  116. That song is in regular rotation at my buddy's house when we are drunk.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Malice In Chains

    ReplyDelete
  118. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©January 20, 2015 at 6:05 PM

Or who never watched wrestling ever.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:05 PM

Are you talking about buffering? I'm watching on Roku 3 and it's seamless.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I'll say it's the best ever. "WHO'S YOUR DADDY MONTREAL!"

He had such control over that crowd. It was masterful.

    ReplyDelete
  121. That song is the tits. I have it on my iPod list for the gym.

    ReplyDelete
  122. MikeyMike, JuggernautJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:05 PM

I listen to that while running every so often.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Oh it's not on their end, I watch in my garage so I'm miles and miles from my router, usually it works ok but sometimes randomly it just starts to suck.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Just popped that on myself.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I prefer the Hollywood Blondes theme.

    ReplyDelete
  126. No shit, I didn't know that. Well i know I'll get my money's worth tonight

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hmm, you got an hour? Well first...

    ReplyDelete
  128. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:07 PM

So, is the garage your private area for wrestling watching?

    ReplyDelete
  129. 1993 was excellent for WCW themes.

    ReplyDelete
  130. How can you deny the awesomeness of "With a tear in my eye" by Flair.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Stone. Cold. Steve. Austin.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:08 PM

"Well, they call him The Natural.

    Naturaaaaalllll"

    ReplyDelete
  133. Seriously. Who the fuck blasts Soulja Boy from there apartment as loud as they can?

    ReplyDelete
  134. First Aid Kit is nice and relaxing

    ReplyDelete
  135. Mostly to smoke weed in because I hate the way it smells in the apartment, but yeah, that too. I've got a TV and stuff down here so generally the guys with kids in the building will come down to watch football and stuff, I'm like the most single guy in whole building lol.

    ReplyDelete
  136. 16 year old kids..............................in 2006

    ReplyDelete
  137. I both love and fucking hate that Santino/Del Rio Rumble spot.

    ReplyDelete
  138. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©January 20, 2015 at 6:09 PM

I hated that song, and I was 14 then.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I ain't denying it. But no promo has ever matched the genius of "Who's your daddy MONTREAL?"

"The first time sure, maybe I'm cruel, but the second time you just proved that Canada is everything I ever said it was."

    ReplyDelete
  140. I just checked to see if WCW Slam Jam was in the iTunes Store.

    It was not.

Gillberg sighting! The piped in Gillberg chants in his music is still hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Fred Soulja when he's feeling down?

    ReplyDelete
  144. Rinaldo is fucking terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  145. No problem.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Santino should have won.

    ReplyDelete
  147. No question. It's in my top 5 of all time.

    ReplyDelete
  148. "Yep Mode" Abeyance Brown ©January 20, 2015 at 6:10 PM

I love how the crowd got so pumped for it, and how Santino was into the moment as well.

    ReplyDelete
  149. A great song, but it's no American Males, Mr. Wonderful or He's Smokin'.

    ReplyDelete
  150. American Males... American Males... American Males... American Males...

Yeah, he could have dropped the spot to Del Rio at the EC PPV, him winning the Rumble would have been a cool moment.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:12 PM

I should have some new Primetime uploaded to the channel by tomorrow night. I'm skipping the 10/4/86 SNME because it's on the Network.

    ReplyDelete
  154. So now I need to track down a piggy bank that appears to only be available in Australia.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I liked it the first hundred times I heard it. Now it makes my head hurt. Basic Thuganomics still goes hard though

    ReplyDelete
  156. Thank goodness for their bumblefuck legal department, I could be watching wrestling right now but I much prefer a much, much, much longer version of the Rumble by the Numbers video.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Is the Santino special just clips from old Rumbles or will wrestlers be drawing their number for this year's Rumble as well?

    ReplyDelete
  158. Jobber or not, fans loved Santino and he could get them on his side. Very few guys can do that nowadays.

    ReplyDelete
  159. So far just old clips.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I will admit that the line "you all pay homage to the man!" Is a close second.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast, good sir.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I like the Four Horsemen and Harlem Heat themes.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Harlem Heat is awesome. So great WWE didn't do much to change it.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:15 PM

It has "Lottery" in the title, but the description on the Network schedule makes it seem as if it's just a clip show.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Well, this thing keeps pausing, going to start up Rumble 10 and pray the problem is with the live stream lol

    ReplyDelete
  166. I know! It's like acting like an asshole is so natural to him!

    ReplyDelete
  167. The marching trombone bit... I hate myself for how much that makes me laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Santino has probably been a bigger draw over time than Del Rio.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Someone trying to cover the sounds of sex from their roommate who's reach an unfortuate spot on their playlist.

  170. Solid.

Friday's episode of TNA Impact Wrestling on Destination America drew 387,000 viewers. This was the first episode for the Friday night time slot.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 20, 2015 at 6:17 PM

All time favorite Santino moment for me was the Chamber match with he and Daniel Bryan the final two. I totally bought Santino pulling off the upset.

    ReplyDelete
  174. That's pretty good news. I was worried they'd lose a lot when they switched back over to Death Night.

And if you're not opposed to other languages, One Ok Rock, Rookiez is Punked, Noisemaker, and Flow aren't bad either.

    ReplyDelete
  177. That would have been an awesome use of the Network, wouldn't it?

    So yeah don't expect that.

    ReplyDelete
  178. I haven't had as much as a hiccup. Have you tried restarting from the beginning, then jumping ahead to just a bit behind the live feed? I started from the beginning instead of joining live.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Dixie was told by Desination America that it's the best spot for the show because of the +3 ratings or something like that.
