Also, don't forget my NEW Dailymotion channel at http://www.dailymotion.com/strangerinthealps. I'll have a Primetime episode up at some point this weekend, and continue to post videos a few times a week. That way you can get some context to some of the earlier shows on the Network.

  3. I just rewatched the end of Survivor Series 2014 for no particular reason.

After Team Cena wins, Cole declares this the most incredible moment in Survivor Series history.

Really? Did "somebody" forget the screwjob of 97? Jesus.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I should be watching Superstars of Wrestling before Wrestling Challenge, right?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well it was the biggest match in Survivor Series history unlike say Team WWF vs Team WCW for the survival of the entire company at stake or something.

  6. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:06 PM

I think back in the day, some markets showed both shows on Saturday, while others chose to air Challenge on Sunday. Totally your call, dude.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Whoa, SD had storyline updates? Why are E&C on?

    ReplyDelete
  8. It's the ASCENSION!

    Oh wait, it's Rollins.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:07 PM

Edge with a different t-shirt on every show. Tonight he pimps Cesaro with the King of Swing shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Smackdown's 5 minutes old and so far they've showed a random limo driver stepping in shit.

    Great start.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'll go that route then. Thanks. This channel is a goldmine for someone like me.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oh wait, it's not even Rollins.

    It's Noble and Mercury.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:07 PM

That limo driver looked like Miz's old man.

  14. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:08 PM

The New York City market had Superstars on Saturday and Challenge on Sundays.

Most poorly designed website? Not as far a being ugly, but functionality? Has to be any Kinja site, right? Bad enough on a PC but on any kind of mobile device it's a shitshow.

    ReplyDelete
  19. You SHUT UP with the short jokes, Edge! Nice neck, jerk!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I was watching an episode of WCW Saturday Night earlier from 1992. It was a couple weeks before the first round of the NWA tag title tournament and had a 6-7 minute squash match between Williams/Gordy and some jobbers. I wish WWE would run some longer squash matches like that.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:09 PM

In Canada, we had some Canadianized version of Challenge on Sundays.

    ReplyDelete
  22. With all of the talk about Undertaker going into the HOF this year doesn't it seem more likely he will wait a year and be inducted next year when it's in Texas?

    ReplyDelete
  23. The Jobbers era died over 15 years ago, it'll never come back and even if it did, everyone would hate it by week 3.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:10 PM

I remembered why Noble should never speak. Meanwhile, Mercury should speak more.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wasn't Steph a communications major? What the fuck is the fixation on fucking court angles of boredom? Not like she was pre-law and flamed out

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wrestling fans love nothing more than a litigation angle.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't think it matters. We had Challenge on Saturday and Superstars on Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  28. What about Wrestling Spotlight? We had that on at like 1am on a UHF channel circa 1992.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why can't some guys like Ryder, Gabriel, and the lower card guys get beat up for longer than 1-2 minutes on RAW or Smackdown? Let em get a couple moves in, but have them do the job in longer than 60 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Nice Monsoon reference, Christian.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The 2001 Survivor Series main event didn't count it just featured Stephanie McMahon's hand picked team losing leading to her being put out of power permanently. It can't compare to the 2014 Survivor Series Main Event.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:11 PM

When we were kids me and my brother called jobbers "those no-name guys".

    ReplyDelete
  33. Here on Wrestling Challenge WWF Cavalcade!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:13 PM

Roman Reigns vs. Rusev is your main event.

Should those guys be facing each other?

    ReplyDelete
  35. That i could live with, but does Vince & Dunn even allow matches to last longer than 3-5 consecutive minutes nowadays?

    Commercial breaks o plenty.

    ReplyDelete
  36. With Smackdown moving to a new home they're clearly trying to involve it more in actual storylines so as to try and boost the audience.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Stranger in the AlpsJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:13 PM

With your host Billy Red Lyons!

    ReplyDelete
  38. That's a Mania main event that shouldn't be happening 10 times in the last year on free TV.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:14 PM

That'll last a whole three weeks. Enjoy it!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Of course not, but it'll just be another Main Event Non-Finish.

And they wonder why they've lost viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  41. They've been running it on house shows.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sure, not like they have dozens of guys with nothing better to do on contract that could make either of them look like killers with decisive wins....wait, they do?

    ReplyDelete
  43. It'll end in either a DQ or a run in finish. It won't matter in the long run.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yet HHH & Stephanie still can't bother showing up.

Not that i WANT to see more of the Authority but clearly it's the A-Story in WWE right now.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I just found a Chrome extension that lets you download Dailymotion videos. I am in heaven.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Maybe not "jobbers" in the WWF sense but the AWA-style jobber that actually took some time to beat. Cycle through NXT guys and whatnot to put on a real match. Real fighters have tuneups as well.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Over/Under in minutes before they mention DANIEL FUCKING BRYAN coming back?

Shows how much they still really think of him.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Or perhaps the show opening storyline doesn't involve him.
It's not like he needs the constant mentions to get over.

    ReplyDelete
  49. See, this would be a good Smackdown main event, and they're leading the show with it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hell this could be a PPV match if WWE ever, you know, booked.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Girl gone, time to sit down and watch Rumble 92, so stoked

    ReplyDelete
  52. Everyone loves a match where Hogan shows he's the biggest heel of the early 90s.

    ReplyDelete
  53. No build, no promos just typical WWE incompetence.

This is the FIRST time ever that Bray Wyatt's faced his former comrades and it's curtain jerking Smackdown.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Did anyone else hear Rondo's comments about how he hasn't played defense in a couple of years? Why on Earth would he say that, even if it was true?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Night - Honorary BSK MemberJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:19 PM

    Flair wins that one.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Gawker and the other Kinja sites really need an overhaul. Also it's time to switch to Disqus and dump the proprietary comments.

    ReplyDelete
  57. "Hey Bray, you set me free and I think you're a big jerk. I want to kick your ass at $PPVAFTERTHERUMBLE"

    BOOKED.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Athletes are so boring all they do is give canned Bull Durham answers.

    Athlete tells the truth

WHY THE FUCK DID HE DO THAT???

    ReplyDelete
  59. Night - Honorary BSK MemberJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:20 PM

    Flair wins that rumble.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Did they ever actually explain why the Wyatt family split up or why Rowan turned Face?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Remember the 25 seconds it seemed like Rowan was getting pushed?

    ReplyDelete
  62. at least give us some promo build up for this match

    ReplyDelete
  63. Night - Honorary BSK MemberJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:22 PM

You're right. The authority deserves those constant mentions.

    ReplyDelete
  64. He shouldn't be admitting that he essentially didn't play half of the floor. People pay good money for tickets to go watch the NBA.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:22 PM

"OH NOES! WWE went 5 fucking minutes without mentioning Daniel Bryan! BURIAL!"

    ReplyDelete
  66. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:22 PM

    No, not really.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Night - Honorary BSK MemberJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:22 PM

    I don't like you.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Then a damn squash. That match could have been a PPV match, but hey let's flush it so we can keep burying Dean Ambrose AND Bray Wyatt.

    ReplyDelete
  69. If a team drafts Brett Hundley and gives him a season or two he could be something special. But if he gets thrown in right away it could get pretty ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yet he is perfect in a tag team, they really should have kept Harper/Rowan together even if they were separate from Bray.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I sure did. I stupidly thought they were going to try new stuff. OOPS!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Eh, had a microsecond where he got the upper hand on Big Show leading up to that awesome stairs match concept

    ReplyDelete
  73. That was pathetic.

No heat and did the match even last 3 minutes?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Fans know what they're getting into when buying NBA tickets.

    ReplyDelete
  75. This is going to get annoying it seems like the UK showing is currently about 3 minutes behind the US version despite starting at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Aaaaaaand yet another shitty county coliseum with aisles as wide as freeways

Man those buildings were shit holes.

    ReplyDelete
  77. How blue are your balls?

You lost the iron man thread. By about 10 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I just noticed something odd. Scott Keith looks a lot like Joe Flacco.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Yeah I saw your post this morning, it's not fair I went to work I haven't slept yet, trying to get back on some kind of normal schedule

    ReplyDelete
  83. It could've been easy, Rowan explains that he entered Cena's team so he can apologize to what he did months before.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Apologize to Super Cena for beating him up months before?

That's even worse than the nothing we did get.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:28 PM

I don't have to work until Monday. Anyway, I long ago gave up on a regular sleeping schedule. Sometimes I'm up until 9 a.m., tonight I might me in bed by midnight.

    ReplyDelete
  86. So have I, then again, an NBA team plays like 30 minutes away from me.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Night - Honorary BSK MemberJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:29 PM

    Chris hemsworth as a hacker?!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah I was only there for like an hour to do the weekly crap I haven't been around to do. Just seeing the building made me sad.

    ReplyDelete
  89. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xIYVw3ZPJk

And, just like that, nothing I've seen in WWE seems that bad.

    ReplyDelete
  90. It's better than nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Lol I've seen that! It's on the live 35 minute version of the play they did. Have you seen it? They did the whole episode live as a play. It was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  92. It could be worse. It could be Chikara.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Thinking about downloading GTAIV or GTAV for my PS3. Anyone have any thoughts about which is more fun?

    ReplyDelete
  94. I made it 45 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  95. IV is a better game I think, V is the prettiest game ever made

    ReplyDelete
  96. Don't think I've seen any Chikara.

    But seriously. Hypnosis and dancing?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:31 PM

I'm from Buffalo, and have been to only one Bills game, and it was against Jacksonville, it almost doesn't count. Meanwhile I went to all the pre-season NBA games here.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oh god, I have to find that now

    ReplyDelete
  99. Oh, no, Marv. You MUST watch to the end.

    Must.

    ReplyDelete
  100. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOcjq4siu7A

    ReplyDelete
  101. 5 by far, 4 is a technical masterpiece but it's not actually fun to play. 4 is a nightmare with constant phone calls for side missions that you either do or you end up damaging relationships you spent hours building up.

    ReplyDelete
  102. There's the problem: Who wants to go to a Bills game?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:32 PM

All the beer cans and piss in the alley?

    ReplyDelete
  104. I made with a girl to go drink at her place. She just got out of a relationship and therefore sexytimes probably would occur, but laziness is slowly taking over.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Hopefully this will allow Rose to actually wrestle a decent length match rather than the 2 minute spots he's been doing.
I'm convinced he would be more over if he was allowed to actually wrestle.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Enjoyed em both, but the plot in GTA V in spots is terribad.

Kill tons of cops = cool
Kill one corrupt cop giving you grief = Nah

Plus GTA IV has Brucie. But GTA V is a better world. Close call either way.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I tried again, made it to the fat fuck in a g-string, I just can't.

    ReplyDelete
  108. yeah....that's pretty bad. I think the dancing thing is worse.

I mean, seriously. A fat guy does a striptease.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Nah I think I'll go back to Rumble 92, I've been feeling good about wrestling lately

    ReplyDelete
  110. Maybe I'm just jaded or have shitty taste, but is that THAT much worse than Torito, or any of Santino's shit? At least it's different

    ReplyDelete
  111. GTA V is probably more fun. Heists. 3 characters. Light hearted fun

GTA IV has a better story, one I got extremely invested in and loved.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:34 PM

It would be different if the stadium was in the city and easily accessible, but it's like an hour away. And I'm not sitting out in the cold. I don't know how fans of good teams do that, never mind the Bills. Fuck that noise.

    ReplyDelete
  113. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlA2LwPnNhc

ALEX SHELLEY: The veterans I always go to are Kurt Angle, Sting and
Kevin Nash - Nash has taught me the most out of all of them. Those are
the guys I always go to and I respect their opinion a lot. And they’re
always very open-minded and give very constructive criticism as well. I
got to do a lot of interview work with Nash, and he basically told me
that if you’re having fun doing your promos, then people can see that.
And they can also see when something is forced, too, and when something
is uncomfortable for somebody to do. So he said that you just have to
find a way to make everything fun, and if you can do that, people can
see that you’re enjoying yourself, thus they’re going to enjoy watching
    you.

AUSTIN ARIES: I have nothing but fond memories of Kevin Nash
the whole time we did the whole Paparazzi Production thing, and I was
associated with him... I think Kevin is a great guy. I think he is very
smart business-wise to what we do. I felt nothing but positive vibes
from him. Honestly, I look back and a lot of the guys who were doing it
with me at the same time would agree that those Paparazzi Production
skits were some of the most fun I had doing wrestling. It was really
just a bunch of guys going out and creating moments and having a good
time playing off each other. I think Kevin was a big part of that. I
think there was always the perception that he didn't like smaller guys
or used certain situations to better himself only, but I never got the
sense of that. There were a couple of situations where he had our back
and wanted to make sure that we were all doing the best we could, and
the company was doing the best they could for us.

    CASSIDY RILEY: I
like Kevin Nash. Kevin’s a hell of a funny guy man. I thought it was
good to have him back, he was a little bit older and he wasn’t the same.
He didn’t mind sitting down and talking to you and trying to teach the
younger guys some things, so I always liked Kevin.

    CONSEQUENCES
CREED: Kevin Nash is awesome man, he’s one of those guys that you know
you can go talk to for advice. He’ll always be there to joke around with
you; he’s one of the coolest guys that I met down there.

    PETEY
WILLIAMS: I’ll tell you what man Kevin Nash is one of the coolest guys,
we dressed in separate locker rooms and stuff, and Kevin used to come in
our locker room where the X-Division guys dress. He would sit down
there and he would shoot the breeze telling us stories for like an hour,
    I mean he’s awesome.

SONJAY DUTT: Kevin Nash was cool man right
off that bat. Kevin and Scott together, I’ll group them together
because they both came in together at that time in Orlando and they were
both cool as hell. After Hall left Nash obviously stuck around and he
did that Paparazzi thing with us and he really became a good friend of
ours. He hung out with us before the shows after the shows, we would go
to his hotel and we became good friends and he was a great guy. He even
told us hey man you know I’m a lot different than I was in the WCW days
which I can’t even comment on what happened during then. To us he was
nothing but the coolest dude in the world.

    ----------------------------------------------------

Nash always kind of struck me as a guy who would say some of the things he did, just to fuck with the smarks.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Just saw the advert for the build a Millennium Falcon magazine collection, only 100 issues to collect for just £8.99 each.
£899 for a model of the millennium falcon you have to build yourself, who is dumb enough to subscribe to that?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Didn't someone hear drank once with Nash?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Hypnosis.

    Dancing under hypnosis.

    Yes. It's worse.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I love the Nash hate, what exactly did the guy do except be really fucking smart and have amazing hair?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Nah, Nash seems like a genuinely fun guy.

Still doesn't change the fact he's a lazy fuck who cares about nothing but cashing cheques. Which is still actually fine too.

    ReplyDelete
  120. That seems familiar.

    ReplyDelete
  122. It seems a lot of people dislike GTA IV for being a bit more serious than other GTA fares but I loved it.

  123. Does anyone remember the PPV where Abyss and Hogan knock all of Flair's Poor Horsemen into the hole into the ring?

    ReplyDelete

Me, on a couple occasions. Fun times.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I like the serious feeling while still living in a cartoon world, V's the opposite, the story feels silly but the world is almost too real to have fun in.

    ReplyDelete
  130. It's the same exact problem the 49ers have. Either drive and hour and pay 30 bucks to park or take public transit.

  143. Great great book. Then Michael Avon Oeming got bored and it's relaunched twice and ran out of steam a bit.

  156. Ok I was kind of meh about it until AJ had to kind of wiggle himself into the hole in the ring, that's hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Did they need to name drop him earlier?

$30? It costs that much to park at the Ralph these days, at least.

    ReplyDelete
  159. There's more to it. Before, Hogan gave Abyss his HOF ring, which somehow gave Abyss these superhuman powers.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Nah, just needed to namedrop HHH and Steph 20 times first.

    ReplyDelete
  161. You could basically watch him looks things up on webMD, so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Seriously. I'm suddenly ok with Dustin jobbing to Torito. Seems like not a bad day at the office by comparison.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Quick extant, move to strike.

Good book. Deena pilgrim is a great character.

    ReplyDelete
  166. HHH/Steph are involved in the storyline that's running throughout the episode and was integral to the opening segment.
    Daniel Bryan is not.
Bryan does not need constant mentions to keep over.
How many times have they namedropped Cena, Orton, Reigns, Ziggler so far?

I have no objections. Dude did what he could to make himself look better on the BoD. He was living the character. More power to him.

  168. Marv any closing arguments?

    ReplyDelete
  169. I miss the talking dogs trying to get their masters to fuck, that shit was so accidentally dark and disturbing it was hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  170. John Cena just announced he's not retiring and is instead making a comeback after 7 months on the shelf?

    ReplyDelete
  171. I agree with the first point but I disagree that it's too real to have fun in. That world was insanely fun to roam around in and the Heists were amazing.

  172. Adam "Colorado" CurryJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:48 PM

I'm always o.k. with Dustin jobbing, can't stand him.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Not really an argument, it is odd how many off the rail depressives we have around here though. I never got the sense the whole Farva thing was accidental.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Very disappointed in the heists.

Planned the jewelry store job perfectly did it nice and quiet and then bam Scripted bullshit with 1000 cops.

    Was very let down.

  175. I hated that he died so young, but yeah, the guy was full of crap.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessJanuary 2, 2015 at 6:50 PM

Odd? Makes perfect sense to me. Depressives are drawn to places like this, especially when they can do it anonymously.

    ReplyDelete
  177. They're only reshowing the portion of Raw where Daniel Bryan announced his return once at the halfway point of the show, rather than in between every single segment?
OMG he's totally getting BERRIED. The WWE are trying to sabotage him.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Agreed. This place somehow becomes an outlet for people who are really freaking depressed and they act on it in such odd ways.

    ReplyDelete
  179. To wrestling blogs full of 30 year olds? Maybe that's why they like it, they stick out here. On reddit or something being a whiny suicide douche probably makes you one of millions.

    ReplyDelete
  180. I've posted at a lot of message boards and I've never seen so many people have their self-esteem tied to what people think of them at the forum.

    ReplyDelete
  181. No, but it's a sad development from his bike crash. It was also the first time he had spoken since his injury, which is an interesting development

    ReplyDelete
  182. Yea, he plays guitar a lot when u2 performs live

    ReplyDelete
  183. Huh. Did a bit of poking around. There's a bundle with GTAV and a "Free Great White Shark Cash Card" for $28. Guess that makes it an easy decision.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Kevin Nash was awesome in TNA.

    ReplyDelete
  185. I don't know, there were some real douches on the old 411 forums. They just never got all whiny and suicidal, that's the part that's weird to me.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Okay so the Sonic guys are definitely gay. Way to mention how a "pitcher and catcher" go together, gay Sonic guy.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Speaking of Kevin Nash....

This place, more than reddit or other places - like 411 - is a community, people come to think of others here as friends without actually having to hang out with them in person.

The BoD is much more niche than other websites.

    ReplyDelete
  189. I noticed that. I also noticed that the breakfast sandwich they were pimping seemed to have a....blanket of egg in it. I guess it was meant to be some kind of omelette, but it didn't look very appealing.

I think it was accidental in the sense that he didn't actually jump in front of the car, but I mean, I like to get nice and shitfaced, but not to the point where I get hit by cars. And Farva didn't seem like a guy that would do that, as in jump in front of a car and traumatize the guy for life that hit him because he killed someone.
