Really, Marty Jannetty over Magnificent Muraco? Do you think Marty could handle the acting skill of Fuji Vice while messed up on pills? For shame.
Here’s your last eight matches:

Here’s your last eight matches:
Chyna deserves a little recognition so I hope she goes through.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I've got some bad news for you then.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the matches in the second round, it would be a bonanza of ***.5-***** matches.
ReplyDeletehahah. Thanks for stopping by, Big E Langston! Not worthy of holding Rick's robe
ReplyDeleteSUMMERSLAM SWEATHOGS 4 LIFE!!
The Baltimore Ravens are the biggest crybaby losers in sports history.
ReplyDeleteunless this happens right before the match starts
ReplyDeletehttp://24.media.tumblr.com/679ed6defe78dbafe9f295aa64b4de6d/tumblr_mk8wnz3rWE1r2ahfqo5_250.gif
Then Chyna's chances of winning are very slim
What happened?
ReplyDeleteI didn't vote for Honky Tonk Man.
ReplyDeleteBest finisher ever for woman who competed more against men than women. Oh and where is that top rope pedigree gif?
ReplyDeleteThe Rock was thrown a softball this round. I approve.
ReplyDeleteHonky Tonk Man all day! Now we're talkin'!
ReplyDeleteOther than Owen vs. Christian, there is not a match on this list that I see being better than **.
ReplyDeleteWARRIOR!!!!
ReplyDeletePats used an offensive formation popular in college where the team uses 4 offensive linemen, plus Gronk on the line and then add an ineligible receiver flanked wide. Chip Kelly, Nick Sabin etc have used it but according to the Ravens its was trickery and unfair. Their post game comments came close to accusing my beloved team of cheating.
ReplyDeleteTJ: You know who I wish was in WCW circa 1993? Curt fucking Hennig. After the '92 awesomeness with Flair/Heenan and after the Dangerous Alliance had sorta faded away in WCW, putting Rude & Hennig together to fuck with Sting, Steamboat, Flair, and company in WCW would have been gold. Those guys are seriously two of my all-time favorite heels. Rude, Hennig, Austin, & Pillman vs. Flair, Sting, Stemboat, Dustin, Windham, et al throughout 1993-94.
ReplyDeleteYeah that wasn't cheating. Their video-taping bullshit of the early 2000's was though.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to picture it. So did it look like there were six possible receivers?
ReplyDeleteRick Rude vs. Chyna. Just imagine how much fun that would be in the second round. Just imagine.
ReplyDeleteMaybe HE could have been the nefarious one who put the bomb on Sting and Davey's boat instead of Cheatum!
ReplyDeleteIt seems strange that ANYBODY would accuse the Patriots of cheating.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping this ends in Rude - Warrior, but I don't see too many people voting Owen Hart out.
ReplyDeleteGiving a heel a run with the IC title and letting them break Honky Tonk Man records is my last guy just comes out and wins the Royal Rumble fantasy book fantasy.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Chyna. Barrett just got pinned on Smackdown by Sin Cara. I'm not voting for any of these loser champions of today that constantly get pinned in non-title matches. Plus I was kind of a Chyna mark for a while there. I'll contend to my dying day that she was more over than HHH till about mid-1999.
ReplyDeleteIs that Royal Rumble fantasy the one where all 29 men have been eliminated before number 30 has entered?
ReplyDeleteRude, Wade, Warrior and Rock should all have easy wins
ReplyDeleteIf Kofi is facing 1990 Kerry then Kofi gets an easy win.
Lance Storm would make short work of HTM but who am I to not vote for the greatest IC champ of all time.
Patera should get an easy win, but not too many here (including myself) saw him in his prime. Mizdow mimicking being locked in a swinging full nelson would be the greatest thing ever.
Owen/Xstian is a dream match I didn't even know that I wanted to see. I'm sitting this one out. I can't pick a winner.
Now that's......perfect.
ReplyDelete... he'd have a pic of HHH's face on his tights?
ReplyDeleteIf Ezekiel gets even one vote, that means he's a poster here on the BOD that's voting for himself.
ReplyDeleteAnd if he gets a bunch of votes, he's spamming the votes.
ReplyDeleteI'd imagine most of Marty's votes came from most of us being just too young to remember Muraco's reign, and old enough to remember his IC title win over Shawn on RAW.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Booker T vs. Warrior would have some damned fun promos.
Shelton over Ahmed? Are you people fucking insane?
ReplyDeleteChyna deserves to be stricken from the record.
ReplyDeleteI voted Shelton. I thought he was good. Kind of like the 1-2-3 Kid of his day. Someone who you didn't really give a shit about but for one segment per Raw, could put on a good match.
ReplyDeleteOver Ahmed? The personification of It Factor? The guy who's promos left you enthralled even though he's the only American wrestler I've seen with subtitles? Ahmed was an unappreciated comet of awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteI dunno. I'm a big Owen supporter in stuff like this (I voted for nearly all his teams in the tag team tournament) but Rude and Warrior represent the golden era of the IC Title.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if you're being sarcastic here or not. Anyway, I liked Ahmed fine but don't really have any memories of him. Shelton wins my vote simply by falling off the top of the ladder at WM and getting his head superkicked off by Shawn.
ReplyDeleteI did not expect Savage to win that easily...
ReplyDeleteThe cream rises to the top.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone was viewing Angle as rookie Kurt Angle with hair, not the wrestling beast we all know and love.
ReplyDeleteYes, every year someone brings it up like it is the greatest fantasy booking idea ever conceived.
ReplyDeleteI fully endorse this idea, as well as your avatar. Best heel the WWF ever had.
ReplyDeleteHit the music
No sarcasm needed. Ahmed's "YUH GUBBA DUH!" promo and his pure rage at getting CPR from Goldust outweigh Shelton's career.
ReplyDeleteDerailed by injury future WWE champ who held the title when it meant something or blank slate spot monkey from when the title was treated like it was the worst gift at Yankee swap? It shouldn't have even been close.
(Pat Patterson looks at the results, his face a mixture of disbelief and sadness)
ReplyDelete"Mountie? Jannetty? WHO ARE THESE PUNKS? And now some millennial jackass named Miz wants to knock off my good friend Ken Patera? UNACCEPTABLE! I shall have to uphold the honor and prestige of those good old days by beating some sense into these kids! Jeff Hardy, you fruitcake, I'll beat you so bad your hair will only be able to display two colors for the next few weeks: black and blue."
The only time it would have been good was during the Jericho trolling.
ReplyDeleteHonky should win because he is 1) cool 2) cocky 3) bad 4) has hair slicked back 5) has long sideburns, 6) picks a mean guitar and 7) wears blue suede shoes.
ReplyDeleteHey injuries are a part of the game. We all make fun of Nash for his quads.
ReplyDeleteMiz should lose because he has had 2 title reigns of 1 day each
ReplyDeleteMiz should lose because he is the Miz. No other excuse needed.
ReplyDeleteAhmed was derailed because of injuries. Shelton was derailed by being boring when not falling off ladders.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine Rude in his prime right now in WWE? That guy wouldn't take ANY shit from Vince or HHH.
ReplyDeleteMiz should win because he understands "closed" signs at McDonalds.
ReplyDeleteShelton comes off the top, Ahmed tries to catch him, goes down in a heap with a painful hernia. Match over.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Ahmed played Suge Knight in a movie? WHAT?
That was a public service.
ReplyDeleteI was going to make a joke about the 2 Ultimate Warriors thing but it's just not funny in light of his recent passing.
ReplyDeleteI really wanted muraco to face the rock in this tourney to figure out who is the true rock
ReplyDeleteMcMahon is 99' would have worked perfectly. The thing with Jericho winning is they had no way to pay off the silent gimmick.
ReplyDeleteI liked his us title/showmiz run and was cheering when he won the world title. I also liked the awesome truth run.
ReplyDeleteHe had enough time with the belt, plus I have a soft spot for Lance.
ReplyDelete8) Comes to your town in a pink Cadillac
ReplyDeleteA good read is to read in Jericho's second book about his co-title run with chyna.
ReplyDeleteNote: autocorrect on my phone wants to change chyna to chubs
You vote for Mountie, but not HTM?
ReplyDelete(WHAT. THE . FUCK.)
Just looking over the bracket we could end up with Warrior vs. The Rock from this group.
ReplyDeleteOne is Magnificent. The other one isn't.
ReplyDeleteEh...Ahmed was Just Another Guy to me. I didn't even notice he was gone when he was injured or when he finally just disappeared. You probably feel the same way about Shelton. So we'll have to just agree to disagree on this one.
ReplyDelete9) Driven by DDP
ReplyDeleteChyna FTW
ReplyDeletehttp://i.minus.com/iFxheFjU6bdZC.gif
That, and when I think Intercontinental Championship, I don't think of Kurt.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of Kurt, I think of Eurocontinental Champion
ReplyDeleteI hate that people think of Steve Austin as some great IC Champion. Austin cared so little about the belt, he threw it in a river. He was a horrible IC-champion.
ReplyDeletePrediction: nobody past 1997 will win this tournament.
ReplyDeleteNo chance.....NO CHANCE IN HELL
ReplyDeleteI see shenanigans in Marty Jannetty's victory. The vote total is totally off in comparison to some of the other matches in that round.
ReplyDeletePatera charges to the corner! The Miz moves! Skull Crushing Finale!
ReplyDeleteNo idea what you're talking about.
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like their are 6 men on the line of scrimmage, two of which are eligible, and the guy flanked out to the far left or right is ineligible. It's a confusing looking play but totally legal.
ReplyDeleteThe video taping that all teams did?
ReplyDeleteHonky Tonk is the greatest pre-January 1992 IC Champion
ReplyDeleteWow Pat Patterson beat Eddie by 2 votes! That's crazy. Honestly though, Jannety blowing out Don Muraco like that??? Who the fuck voted for Marty Jannety? Awful awful decision.
ReplyDeleteWhatever ya gotta tell yourself.
ReplyDeleteShelton Benjamin beating Ahmed Johnson is horrible. Wtf is wrong with the people who vote on this? Are just purposely picking the worst choice or do they just not know anything? That's fucking awful.
ReplyDeleteIf Miz was ic champion on his way to the WWE championship in 2010, I would have voted fur him over Patera. But since the IC champ Miz was the 2013-2014 joke, I voted for Patera.
ReplyDeleteAhmed held the belt for two months and defended it once.
ReplyDeleteBenjamin held it twice for pretty long reigns and was champion for the first two Money in the Bank matches, where he was awesome and amazing.
HTM, Rude, Barrett, Kofi, Warrior, Owen, Rock, Patera
ReplyDeleteHe was as better IC champion than Jeff Jarrett.
ReplyDeleteI have a bad feeling that Miz and Big E are getting lots of votes based on the results from the last round.
ReplyDeleteI'll be discussing it next Sunday while I'm watching the Pats play yet another home playoff game. So...
ReplyDeleteMarty Jannety is coming and he's going to rock and roll, strut and stroll and take care of tournament business.
ReplyDeleteI was cool with the Mountie winning. As he not only is handsome, but also both brave and strong. However, Marty Jannetty over The Magnificent Muraco? This is a miscarriage of justice...
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Rude, Owen, Warrior, Rock... This has got to be the best block.
ReplyDeleteGo Rude!
Hey I have nothing but respect for the Pats. They win their division every year and are always a threat to make the Super Bowl. But you realize that complaining about Harbaugh callling out your "beloved" Patriots for schnanagins (which is wasnt) opens you up to having people poke fun at you
ReplyDeleteHis IC title win was huge, and I suspect most people forgot Muraco had the belt for the cage match with Snuka.
ReplyDeleteI'll take "damning with faint praise" for $1,000, Alex.
ReplyDelete*I* was a better IC champ than Jarrett.
The first Eurocontinental champion. (except for D'Lo Brown, but he doesn't count.)
ReplyDeleteRude vs. Rusev. All I'm saying.
ReplyDelete(Even if the match wouldn't be any good (and I think it would; not entirely sold on the Super-Athlete yet, but he's getting there) the promos alone, Rude trying to steal Lana......)
Poor Lance.
ReplyDeleteJarrett used the IC title to catapult himself getting a hit single.
ReplyDeleteJannetty is the only wrestler to not go down on Pat Patterson because his integrity is NOT for sale.
ReplyDeleteOf course I know what's coming, but the Ravens are the ultimate loudmouths and I find it funny their complaining of trickery when they got beat fair and square.
ReplyDeletePeople just loved Marty Jannetty so much that the people that don't usually vote on these things decided to just vote for Marty.
ReplyDeletePeople remember that Vince wanted to put the IC title on Jannetty in 1983, but Marty didn't want to break up the Rockers and refused so Vince used Muraco as his backup plan.
ReplyDeleteHarbaugh cries about everything. He's worse than his brother....almost.
ReplyDeleteAhh thanks! I've been trying to find some footage of it, but all I can find is the press conference stuff. The NFL also agrees that it's legal.
ReplyDeleteOne of Page's favorite songs to work out to is that pink cadillac song.
ReplyDeleteNot really.
ReplyDeleteI could see Miz winning since many readers never seen Patera in his prime but Big E over Rude, I don't see that happening.
ReplyDeleteReally.
ReplyDeleteMy point though, is Jarrett and Austin were matched up. I don't see AUSTIN getting past the round of 16.
ReplyDeleteSame
ReplyDelete
