Inclusion of Rollins

Scott,

Just heard that Seth Rollins was added to the Lesnar/Cena title match. Do you expect that to stick as a 3 way and if so what are your expectations for the match/outcome? If Brock is leaving why not just blow off his feud with Cena once and for all.

My expectation is that they wanted to get the title of Brock before Wrestlemania in case of shenanigans with the contract negotiations, which is probably smart.  You don't want Brock holding that over your head.  But they don't want to beat him, so they'll have Cena and Rollins do the finish.  Either way Seth walks out as the champion, either by pinning Cena during the match, or cashing in afterwards.  Someone in the Daily Update thread hit the nail on the head, I think, with Cena beating Rollins to win the title and then a crazed Brock destroying everyone in anger.  Then the Authority cashes in on Rollins' behalf, puts him on top of Cena, and thus everyone looks like complete morons while Brock makes millions from his new UFC deal.  Either way, it's clear that this Brock shit isn't working and isn't justifying his pay, and it's also clear that Roman Reigns just isn't the guy and putting him over Brock for the title isn't the move that's gonna light the promotion on fire.

Comments

  1. If Bryan wins the Rumble..and why would you not put Bryan in the rumble if Bryan is not winning the Rumble. Isn't Bryan Brock still the biggest money angle there? They don't have faith in Bryan Rollins for WM main event do they? Or would it be Cena/Bryan/Rollins?

Brock coming back on Raw in 2012 showed so much promise...

And I just saw Reigns' promo from last night. Someone actually wrote that... and it was approved.

  3. Theberzerker Von HUSSingtonJanuary 6, 2015 at 11:26 AM

At this point, fuck it, just light the promotion on fire.

    ReplyDelete
  4. considering Vince's last minute rewrites these days you assume much that it was ever approved

    ReplyDelete
  5. Theberzerker Von HUSSingtonJanuary 6, 2015 at 11:27 AM

I'm sure Orton will factor in there somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  6. That whole thing about Reigns not being over isn't true; it's just us blog otters saying "push new stars, no not that one."

    ReplyDelete
  7. If they wanted to go all in with Rollins I'd go Brock/Bryan at Mania and then have Rollins cash in at mania. Heel heat would be insane.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Theberzerker Von HUSSingtonJanuary 6, 2015 at 11:31 AM

The silence during his matches speaks otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  9. He is not not over but he is not headline Mania over which is what everyone is judging him on based on all company planning.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Brock should just hand over the title and give a farewell speech. It'll crush his American fans if he loses.

    ReplyDelete
  11. He's over when he shows up out of nowhere to put an exclamation point on something. He can't get it done in the ring or on the mic though

    ReplyDelete
  12. But won't THE VIGILANTE Sting show up and stop them from pulling those shenanigans?

    ReplyDelete
  13. So if this is all true and perhaps neither Brock or Reigns is in the WM main event lets look at what they have built towards the past two years. Heel Orton/ Face Batista and Reigns/Brock.....good job their Vince.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Brock/Bryan is the only match I'd actually pay to see. It's just such a perfect pairing.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It will be a little anticlimactic with everyone knowing Brock is leaving the company but The fans will still be crazy excited for Bryan to get the belt back and...They have a history of surprising us with Brock at Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  16. So, in conclusion, nothing is working.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Who? oh..that old man who went off his meds and put some clown makeup on before wondering out to the ring?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oprah NoodlemantraJanuary 6, 2015 at 11:37 AM

    Touche.

He uses the Superman punch! He's SUPERMAN!
    *Steals all Supe's catchphrases*
    And done!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Correct, but if the Internet booked, money would be made hand over fist.

    ReplyDelete
  20. But where does Big Show fit in? You genuinely need to see that man in person to appreciate the SIZE of him. When he hits you, it's like being hit with a skillet or frying pan!

    ReplyDelete
  21. He gets a nice pop for his entrance. His in-ring work is OK at best, and his mic skills are atrocious.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I haven't seen last night yet but I question if his mike skills are that bad or...he STILL doesn't have a real character. He's poochy. He's cool because we say he's cool. For the member of the shield they have the most hope for they have put the least time into building him into a relate able character other than change the color of his paintball out fit once in a while.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I won't pretend to know what they have planned for Rumble because I doubt they even know right now. The Cena ruining everyone's lives things is vaguely interesting, if I thought it would lead to him turning heel or doing anything different than he has done the past 9 years, but it won't. I suspect things will pick up after Rumble and be hot until they become stale until right after WM, then get hot again for SummerSlam, rinse and repeat.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I didn't see his promo last night - it sounds like it was a doozy in terms of bad material. That being said, I've seen enough instances of him cutting very, very routine and basic promos and his delivery is God-awful.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm not usually a big wins and losses guy and I know they can rehab him when they feel like it, but Ambrose has looked like a real schmuck lately.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It was pretty awful. The material was weak and poorly delivered. He sets up the "slam" with a dramatic pause and a hair flip.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I can't think of a Wrestlemania scenario at this point that I find worth paying for. I don't think I have ever said that before either

    ReplyDelete
  28. I felt that way about 29 and thought actually being there would help make up for the apathy. I was wrong. One of my least favorite WMs in history, compounded by the fact I was actually there.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm not saying he is good, but we have seen some of these scripts leaked..if he is doing that stuff he was probably coached to.

    ReplyDelete
  30. He's not "superstar of the year" over. He's the least over of any guy who's ever been groomed for the top spot. Including Diesel, who got far bigger and better reactions for most of his run. Peoples definition of what a great reaction is seems to have really shifted as of late.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Brock getting slayed by Bryan in a hard fought match is so easy. It's right there.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If he's got one more date left, I'm sure their temptation to do the massive swerve of Brock winning at Mania may be overwhelming for them.

    ReplyDelete
  33. His comeback promo at SS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvCo2PAVuXE

    ReplyDelete
  34. So WrestleMania will be Reigns vs. Rollins for the title and Cena or Bryan vs. Brock?

    Who the hell knows.

    ReplyDelete
  35. If Rollins wins the title, it would be hilariterrible if Big Greasy won the Rumble. The amount of gum and other garbage he'd be picking out of his hair... hooboy.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was there, too. It *sucked*. The best part was hearing a woman walking back from the restroom during the Del Rio/Swagger match yell, "This is still going on!? How???"

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey now. He was stopping the nWo 20 years ago. He's obviously the only guy who can stop the Authority now.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Bryan/Brock for the title is probably the safest way to go. You could have Rollins cash in and Orton could interfere and prevent it in a strange twist of irony and there's your main event for the next few months. Reigns isn't ready, but he could be the guy to beat Rusev.

    ReplyDelete
  39. So how do you deal with Brock's "rematch clause" that every champion gets? On that note doesn't the Rock still have claim to a title rematch at some point?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Rock, Daniel Bryan, Lesnar...it took Randy Orton quite some time to get his rematch after WrestleMania. They don't care and won't explain it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Come on dude, that's only a thing when they want it to be

    ReplyDelete
  42. You're not supposed to rememebr these things, that's how.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I didn't say he wasn't over. I said he's a shitty promo and a below-average wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'd prefer they just do away with it completely. I like the former champ disappearing for awhile after losing the title or going onto something else instead of guaranteeing the same match again the next month.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah Vince would want to avoid another Montreal. Bret will just spit in your face, Brock won't.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I can see it now...

Bryan wins the rumble, GAINS MOMENTUM during the Road to Wrestlemania, CREATES SEPARATION from the obstacles Paul Heyman puts in his way, and has a WRESTLEMANIA MOMENT by losing to THE 1 IN 21-1.

Then the next night on Raw Reigns beats Lesnar in 6 seconds to win the title in the fastest-ever victory, and gives a big smiley interview where quotes Jackie Gleason and mentions "How sweet it is!"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Bret knocked his ass out.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I forgot about that. Still, Brock would do worse.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Brock would knock his ass out. And then he would eat him.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Has Brock done anything other than be on the stage when the Authority was reinstated?

    ReplyDelete
  51. WWE has jumped the shark.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Pick him up and break him over his knee, Bane-style

    ReplyDelete
  53. Mania only costs 10 bucks. There you go.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Except it's a non-issue with Brock because he wouldn't care about dropping the title as long as the checks cleared.

    ReplyDelete
  55. The same way they dealt with "The champ is suppose to defend once every 30 days"

    ReplyDelete
  56. So Rollins walks out of the Rumble with the belt.
Rollins drops it to Cena at February PPV
    Cena/Reigns Wrestlemania?

Who does Brock fight? Rollins? Maybe Heyman turns helping Rollins with the belt and then Face Brock kills Heel Rollins on his way out?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Just so I'm clear, we're assuming that Brock is going into WrestleMania without the WWE Championship? I am just curious what everyone else thinks will be the Championship Match.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  60. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 12:25 PM

It's unreal how badly they wasted ending the streak.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I have no clue.

If I'm booking it, Brock pins Cena to retain, Bryan wins the Rumble, Bryan beats Brock. So that's almost guaranteed not to happen.

Vince is obsessed with keeping Cena strong so Rollins is probably there to take the pinfall instead of Brock finishing off Cena.

I guess I'm assuming Brock/Reigns with the possibility that if the fans start a mutiny over it, they add Bryan as the "I never lost the belt guy" and make it a Triple Threat.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I don't think they ever cared.

Whomever originally stated it was done to pop Network subscriptions from the shock value nailed it, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  63. You really want Summerslam 2013 with Rollins swapped for Orton?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Under scott's scenerio, cena's record tying world title reign lasts 5 minutes max

    ReplyDelete
  65. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 12:30 PM

I guess. Just another example of how braindead these people are. One of the few tools they actually had to make a new megastar or create a money-making angle, and they fucking tossed it off with zero planning or foresight.

Something that was built over 20+ years and maybe the last "championship" in wrestling that really mattered to fans, and they gained ZERO from it. Complete fucking idiots.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Titles and number of title reigns are 'Rasslin! This is sports entertainment, we don't care about that stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I understand they might be leery of Lesnar's imminent departure, but assuming his contract is tight and he is obligated to appear through Mania, the better option IMO is having Bryan beat Lesnar in a David vs. Goliath "you have the title I never lost" match. Lesnar needs to put someone over on the way out, or this whole thing with him ending the Streak and squashing Cena is truly a waste (moreso than it already is). Lesnar tapping to the Yes! Lock might be a nice way to at leats say to the fans "hey, sorry... we know we fucked up."

    ReplyDelete
  68. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 12:33 PM

So is Vince actually working for UFC at this point? He builds their stars, he tanks WWE's PPV business. What the fuck is this old retard doing at this point? Good god.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I've changed my mind. Roman/Rollins/Cena Triple Threat is the main event. Rollins goes in champ. Reigns goes out champ. They protect Roman by not exposing him in the match, Rollins is in it to sell and make him look good, and they very tentatively start the Reigns era which they probably bail on pretty quickly when he has to start carrying PPVs.

Lesnar feuds with Orton. Orton trying to screw Rollins somehow inadvertently costs Lesnar the match at the Rumble.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 12:36 PM

I really feel like Dave Meltzer needs to drop whatever else he's doing and do an in depth investigation into whether or not Vince McMahon is legitimately retarded. Because that's the only thing that WWE's booking and business decisions possibly point towards.

    ReplyDelete
  71. You know, the rumble match looks interesting to me as it has some good people in it and there isn't a clear cut winner. But the rumored Mania matches don't do much for me honestly save for if they go with Brock vs Bryan.

    ReplyDelete
  72. The only thing it accomplished was washing the stink of the HHH matches off him, and took Brock back away from being "just another guy", which he was for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'd hate for Brock to lose the strap before Wrestlemania, but the Rollins inclusion makes me think that's what they're planning. Either that, or Brock pins Rollins so that Cena doesn't have to take another clean loss against Lesnar because heaven forbid that should happen.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'd swap Rollins for Orton in general.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Brock lost his smile.

    (because he never had one)

    ReplyDelete
  76. It makes so much sense they could never possibly do it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. So what the hell do they do with Dean at Mania? I can't think of anything if Reigns/Rollins/Orton/HHH are involved in other matches. Wouldn't mind seeing a SHEILD explodes match.

    ReplyDelete
  78. We can agree on that. I've never had so little faith in WWE than I do at this moment in time. They can (and will) fuck up just about anything they are given, no matter how simple of a lay-up it is.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think they're overthinking this. Brock is professional and there is no reason to think he wouldn't drop the title at WM. I mean, the storyline is right there for them - Bryan comes back and challenges after winning the RR since he never really lost the title to begin with. There are worse things to try then having everyone doing a YES chant in unison for the second year in a row, especially since everything else they've tried has resulted in crickets and tumbleweed

    ReplyDelete
  80. Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Why do I get the feeling Reigns is winning the belt solely because Vince has been jerking off to visions of Michael Cole screaming "The Roman Empire begins!!!!" to close the show since last May.

They probably already have the production order set for Roman Empire merch.

    ReplyDelete
  82. If ever there was a time for Taker to act like an unprofessional dickhead and ask himself, "What would 1996 Shawn do?", that was it, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Even better Dean/Bray as a wacky tag team who hates each other going for the tag titles.

    ReplyDelete
  84. If they pull both Lesnar and Reigns from the title match, then I could see them running that on the undercard. Then Rollins (c) vs. Cena vs. Orton for the title? Sounds awful.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I can't figure out why they don't mention that and play it up more often. The man has really large hands

    ReplyDelete
  86. Money in the Bank has become the dumbest fucking plot device in the company. We are supposed to believe that guys are so desperate to headline Wrestlemania that the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber shows have been the end-all, be-all of #1 contendership. Yet every year there is at least one guy who has the briefcase and doesn't think "hey, maybe I'll just sit on this thing til Wrestlemania and use it to challenge THEN". Take Ziggler in 2013: why would he rather challenge for the tag belts with Big E than cash in at Mania? He does it the next night instead? Or this year with Rollins. He supposedly turned and joined the Authority because he was so ambitious and the "future" or whatever, but why would he not just sit back with his feet up and wait to see who the champ is come Wrestlemania 31? Just letting Cena and Brock murder each other and waiting to see who the champ is for WM would make sense to me if Rollins wants to be the "Guy" in kayfabe

    ReplyDelete
  87. Agree, 100%.

As bad as his "reign" has been, he's still the guy that broke the Streak, steamrolled Cena, and basically held the title hostage for months. If all of that isn't used to put someone over huge, then the whole last year was even more of a waste.

I understand the "he's not loyal, he's leaving, he's part-time" stuff, and not wanting to give him the big WM spotlight/payday, but what's done is done. They can either use all of his in-canon momentum for the good of helping someone else, or waste it for "he doesn't deserve it for backstage reasons" pettiness.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Pre-show vs. Fandango

    ReplyDelete
  89. The same people who put up billboards to fire the Jets GM directly outside MetLife and flew banners reading much the same over the Jets practice should really do the same with billboards outside Titan Tower - DANIEL BRYAN VS. BROCK LESNAR.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'd vote for staring at a blank ring for 10 minutes over watching Orton

    ReplyDelete
  91. Lesnar/Bryan is really the only intriguing match-up to me and there's no way a main event featuring some combination of Rollins, Cena, or Reigns does better numbers. Plus, on the off chance that Lesnar screwed WWE over, the company would just get more publicity and viewership out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 12:51 PM

"Wouldn't mind seeing a SHEILD explodes match." Ambrose is nowhere near that level. Next time you see him in teh ring with Rollins it's to job ina random 3-minute match on a random Smackdown.

Ambrose is in that Mania battle royal if he's on the show at all.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I don't know and I don't know why. But at some point, a Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan match will be penciled in for Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I feel like it is already penciled in. They better get that freakin eraser out.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Senile. At this point we would call it senile.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Only in Vince's mind is Bryan a B+ player who doesn't deserve a match versus Lesnar while Rollins and Reigns are worthy of it.

Nothing against Rollins and Reigns, but Bryan outclasses them in every category except size.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Supposedly that was plan for 29 at one point, that Cena would win the title from Rock, and then Ziggler would cash in immediately afterward.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Has there never been a MITB guy who said the next night "I'm holding this until the next Wrestlemania to be in the main event?"

That would actually be a great storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Mr. Kennedy. Then he got hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  101. The whole idea of "he doesn't deserve it" or "we can't trust him" is beyond laughable considering that THEY are the ones who signed him to a ridiculous 3 match per year contract for 500 billion dollars when they knew from first hand experience that Lesnar had no loyalty to the business and would leave the moment he got bored or found a better offer. This compnay is run by morons. Vince is looking like a bigger mark than his fans after this Lesnar deal.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Given the changing state of the product, doesn't it kind of have to, though?

And I'm sure Khali and a few others would take exception to your 'least over of any guy who's ever been groomed for the top spot' comment.

    ReplyDelete
  103. They planned that with Kennedy but then he got injured, and they planned it with Bryan before Henry got injured so they had Bryan cash in on Show after he beat Henry.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Because its a TV show. The only reason anyone wants the title is the same reason someone wants an emmy. Its the same bullshit title that is decided by a booker and therefore fairly meaningless. Your answer is because its written that way.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I guess I would go:

    Lesnar vs. Bryan, WWE Title
Rollins vs. Reigns vs. Ambrose (Ladder Match for the MITB Briefcase)
    Sting vs. HHH
    Rusev vs. Cena
    Barrett vs. Sheamus
    Orton vs. Wyatt
    Battle Royale (Ziggler?)
    Divas Nonsense
    Nattie vs. Charlotte, Divas Title
    Usos vs. Ascension, Tag Titles

    ReplyDelete
  106. I thought same, but I don't creep around here enough to know for sure

    ReplyDelete
  107. I think Rollins is there to get pinned by Lesnar, that's it. They want to keep Cena strong for Mania and don't want Brock to murder him again.

    ReplyDelete
  108. That would be kinda cool!

    ReplyDelete
  109. What killed it dead for me was Sandow.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Did Superstar Graham ever get rematches with Backlund right away? I know he did a series as Karate Man Graham years later, but wasn't sure of tie-dyed Graham getting his rematches. Also Backlund never got his rematches with the Iron Sheik, Bret (obviously) never got his rematch with Shawn, Shawn never got a rematch with Austin, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think there's a decent Wrestlemania possible from the scenario Scott suggests. Assuming Rollins leaves the Rumble with the belt, have him drop the belt to Cena in February due to Orton/Ambrose interference. Mania: Cena/Reigns (Rumble winner, obviously), Bryan/Brock, Rollins/Orton or Ambrose. That way, at least Reigns gets cheered, Bryan slays Goliath and Rollins gets his comeuppance.

    ReplyDelete
  112. But how many people in China and India have high speed Internet? I legit don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Your scenario is perfect and makes too much sense for those idiots.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Eh, semantics. Like the writing team would have cared.

Roadies go for Doomsday Device on Rollins, but missed that Reigns in the legal man. Spear to Animal. Hawk eats a Superman Punch getting back up from the clothesline attempt. Shield wins.

Steiners beat the living piss out of Bret, and stop Neidhart's attempt cold. Screwdriver to Neidhart finishes while Bret lies outside the ring selling his beat down.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Rollins has been WWE's MVP the past twelve months and I don't think he's had the credit he deserves. He's almost the only wrestler who's been consistently well-booked.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Meanwhile Lesnar not being around could and should have been mentioned every week to get heat on him for being a prima donna. Maybe then the fans would be clamoring for somebody to beat him and a natural top babyface would rise up organically, be it Cena, Bryan, Ziggler, Reigns or whomever. I seriously wonder if the bleak product this fall/winter has not at least in some part been due to having no World Champion around to give the roster purpose.

  121. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:18 PM

How big of a waste was Brock Lesnar's entire run from WWE's end?

The buyrate increases have been minimal especially compared to what he's getting paid. There were no great feuds that carried TV programming. (His effect on TV ratings have been way less than his effect on PPV.) He's had 2-3 great matches (Cena ER '12, Punk SUmmerslam, and maybe Cena Sumerslam if you go by shock factor) and loads of awful ones (all 3 HHH matches, Big Show, Taker).

And he wasn't used to create even ONE new star, and at this point I don't think he can even if they do put Roman over him at Mania. (Roman is nowhere near over enough to get anything out of it.)

Brock himself is an awesome talent and could have been a giant asset even with his limited dates. WWE's booking of him for 3 years though has been beyond terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:19 PM

Ambrose won't be on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I think Rusev has been booked perfectly so far, not to diminish your overall point. But he needs to be in the conversation, as well.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Then why are there reports of morale being at an all-time low? Why are guys openly complaining to Dirt Sheet writers about getting paid dog shit?
I still think the 731k number is a bit flimsy, but that's based on a hunch and not raw data.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:21 PM

    Renee i guess.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I'm glad you are speaking for yourself, because I'd be really bummed.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I think it's a waste to do Lesnar/Bryan without the title. It's just too easy of a story with Bryan never losing his belt. But I also understand that Reigns is their guy and they may not give in to fan pressure two years in a row.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Yeah, he's certainly been well-booked. What's impressive about Rollins is most thought he would fade away after the Shield breakup, but he's been the strongest by far.

    ReplyDelete
  129. With all due respect, why is everybody so hung up on the Shield triple threat? Ambrose is a Santino-level jobber right now, the match would mean nothing. Do it in 2-3 years or so when Reigns is more established and Ambrose is rebuilt (hopefully). Then it will mean something.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I look at that Ibushi/Nakamura match from Sunday and think how effectively Lesnar could've been used to put guys over, even in defeat.

    ReplyDelete
  131. But but but...Triple H got to beat him! Everybody wins, right?

    ReplyDelete
  132. No idea there was a similarly named person

    ReplyDelete
  133. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:26 PM

Because he's a jobber and nowhere near that level in their pecking order?

Christ at this point Seth Rollins would be squashing Dean on Main Event, not wrestling him at Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Ah right, didn't realise you were being hyperbolic

    ReplyDelete
  135. Agree 100%. I think Rollins ironically enough also has the biggest babyface potential out of the three. He could be huge in that Jeff Hardy/CM Punk alternaitve-looking high flyer mold.

    ReplyDelete
  136. If that's the case, he's still winning lol.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:29 PM

Well not too hyperbolic. I stand firm that there's zero chance Dean gets a singles match at Mania. He's either in the battle royal or a backstage segment with Pee Wee Herman or Flo Rida or something.

    ReplyDelete
  138. AGAIN? I mean, Bryan already got hosed by Orton and Hunter using that exact same set-up. It would actually be a better ending, IMO, if he saw it coming this time, and shut Rollins down. I think Rollins cashing in and losing would also add some suspense back to MiTB as well.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Fuck Millenials! Useless sacks of shit.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:30 PM

Haha true. He real should just quit being a shitty wrestler and go be a top notch birthday party clown and enjoy banging his super hot girlfriend.

    ReplyDelete
  141. It's weird, he gets enough TV time but isn't looking great. I guess how far he goes in the Rumble match provided he's in it might give better indication of how he'll be used at Mania

    ReplyDelete
  142. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:31 PM

I dunno, I think the fact that he's a comedy jobber on WWE TV tells you how he's gonna be used at Wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I actually think he's a potential final 4 in the Rumble, but I could be massively wrong

    ReplyDelete
  144. It's not like they could have done that with someone like, I don't know, Ambrose. You know, by having him build some momentum, challenge Brock at the Rumble and lose but put a scare into him.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Certainly. He'd certainly have the moveset. But what he's excelled at this year is being a real heel. Not chickenshit, not cool, just someone you wanna see beaten - and that's not an easy thing to do nowadays.

    ReplyDelete
  146. They're already airing the same handful of commercials several times during the show, that can't be a good sign for Raw's ad revenue (or lack thereof).

I pointed this out last night but don't be surprised if ad revenue shrinks to the point where the only ads that play on Raw are for Anthony Sullivan mail order products.

It's already happened to the Fox News Channel due to the fact that their audience are just as old, senile and out of touch as Vince McMahon currently is.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Not to mention he improved massively on the mic in the space of a few weeks - his biggest weak spot which is no longer a weak spot. More than can be said for Reigns

    ReplyDelete
  148. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:37 PM

I predict you being massively wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  149. It's funny that - now that Bryan is returning - the IWC seems to have most of its interest in anointing Dean Ambrose as "the guy."

    YOU DID IT, VINCE!

    ReplyDelete
  150. He's worked hard, no doubt. Ambrose was supposed to be the talker, Reigns had the look, Rollins was the worker. Now Rollins is still the better worker, but he looks more of a main eventer than the others and, like you say, he's become a lot more comfortable on the mic.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Worst_in_the_WorldJanuary 6, 2015 at 1:38 PM

??? I'm not really seeing that.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I think without Punk, and Bryan more recently, it's been noticeable how fucking cowardly the faces are. They can't reach for that brass ring because they're still looking for their balls.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I think Ambrose's atrocious booking over the past six months has more to do with that.

    ReplyDelete
  154. If WWE is focused on only what Vince wants, how come we haven't had any dudes pushed in pools?

    ReplyDelete
  155. Does he still wear that Winter Soldier-ish outfit? Cause that ruled

    ReplyDelete
  156. Brock would only knock Vince out if they added another date to his contract.

    ReplyDelete
  157. He does. He's the only one of the Shield that looks like a wrestler.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Quick TJ based on the phrase "light the promotion on fire": Was Kane's long hair, even going back to his debut, a wig? Or did he originally have long stringy hair like that, and eventually shaved it off? Sorry, but I'm watching Armageddon and I'm just weirdly curious.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Khali had the big gold belt for a cup of coffee, but I don't think he was ever being groomed for the top spot.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Cena vs Reigns could lead to a repeat of Cena vs Orton from Rumble 2014 type reaction

    ReplyDelete
  161. I like how this week's Review-a-Raw on the LAW podcast starts off with Roman's awful "Superman, get it?!" promo segueing right into "Superman's Dead" by Our Lady Peace. That's the only positive to epically awful Raws like this, the day after podcasts tearing it apart. Great place for business to be.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I may be in the minority, but I actually think they added Rollins as a way to have Brock hang on to the belt without having to have Cena job again in a one-on-one match. I'm not even saying that Cena won't get pinned, but the inclusion of Rollins allows for more screwiness if they choose to go that route. I'm still thinking Brock drops the belt at Mania.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Nah, the long hair was real for a number of years, dating back to at least Fake Diesel.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Actually, how hilarious would this be:

Since Rollins has the briefcase already, Heyman pays Rollins to lay down immediately after they immobilize Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  165. That's true. It's not a title match I'd want to see, but if they are determined that Reigns wins the title this Mania it's the only match that ensures he (alone) doesn't get shit on.

    ReplyDelete
  166. That's what I figured, but I was curious...it retains that wet quality the whole match, compared to all the other guys, like Ziggler, whose hair dries out over the course of a match.

    ReplyDelete
  167. If They get the belt off Lesnar without him being beaten then they could do Lesnar vs Bryan Neither one lost the title.

    ReplyDelete
  168. People like Bryan because he's insanely good in the ring, so no matter how you book him that shines through. With Ambrose, his character and its potential is what people like about him but as they've taken a big fat dump on him the last few months its just killed everything I like about him

    ReplyDelete
  169. That's what I think is going to happen. It's more to protect Cena.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Rollins bumping all over the place for Lesnar should be fun.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I guess, when I think of "Comedy Jobbers", I think of Zach Ryder and Santino. Are you calling Dean an "Unintentional Comedy Jobber"?

    ReplyDelete
  172. Suggestion: Get a Profile Picture with both Fuj and Muraco. I'll be your #1 Mark.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Punk did that at SS and both came off really, really strong at the end, plus Brock sold like he was going to lose 2x in the match.

So it CAN be done. Just not by everyone else. And that's not a fault of the roster; creative has done zilch to even show anyone can be at that level.

    ReplyDelete
  174. YankeesHoganTripleHFanJanuary 6, 2015 at 2:04 PM

As good as a Brock/Bryan match has the potential to be the question has to be asked: Can Brock be trusted to keep Bryan's neck safe?

    ReplyDelete
  175. Yeah but... I guess I just wouldn't care as much about that match.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I almost feel like it will be 2-on-1 for about 80% of the match. Once you hit that mark, they might turn on each other for a few moves, but I don't see Rollins bumping as much as one might assume. He'll take the fall, for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  177. It was already penciled in and already happened. It lasted fifteen seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Brock might be a legit asskicker, but has anyone ever said he was unsafe or too stiff in a wrestling ring? Sure, he's done some stiff matches against Cena, but that was by design.

    ReplyDelete
  179. because Nitro did it already

    ReplyDelete
  180. How many PPVs has Santino main-evented again?

    ReplyDelete
  181. Rumble: Cena vs. Rollins vs. Lesnar - Lesnar pins Rollins after some shenanigans to keep Cena from losing again. Reigns win Rumble.

Cena says he was screwed out of a chance to win the title and challenges Reigns for his #1 Contender position at "Fast Lane." Reigns beats Cena to give him a huge win heading into Mania.

Reigns goes onto Mania to beat Lesnar and becomes the Face of the WWE.

Not what I want to see, but what I think we might see.

    ReplyDelete
  182. YankeesHoganTripleHFanJanuary 6, 2015 at 2:18 PM

Safe or not all those suplexes and F5's have to do some legit damage.

    ReplyDelete
  183. They should just have Reigns/Big show as the main event in wrestlemania and have Reigns use the "yes" chant. I mean if theyre going ti fuck with us dont half ass it.

    ReplyDelete
  184. But "YES!" is Big Show's chant!
    http://www.wrestlestars.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Big-Show-Yes-chant-in-crowd.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  185. Did they remove the elimination chamber from fast lane? I.only heard rumors.

    ReplyDelete
  186. I still cant believe that. Not to mention hes turned heel/face at least 3 times since then.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Yes. Hence the name change to Fast Lane.

    ReplyDelete
  188. http://www.clickhole.com/article/wow-no-one-wwe-raw-was-mad-enough-fight-each-other-1648?utm_campaign=default&utm_medium=ShareTools&utm_source=facebook

    Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  189. Outside of Taker getting concussed at Wrestlemania, I've never heard of Brock hurting anyone in the ring with his style.

    ReplyDelete
  190. I can believe it. WWE was trying to depush Bryan. They figured if they could make "YES!" a generic babyface chant it would take away from Bryan.

Considering the godawful buyrate of Survivor Series 2013, they quickly changed their minds about that.

    ReplyDelete
  191. YankeesHoganTripleHFanJanuary 6, 2015 at 2:27 PM

Fair enough. I wasn't saying that Brock was unsafe, just bringing up the question.

    ReplyDelete
  192. If Bryan isn't able to take bumps off of suplexes or an F5 he should retire.

    ReplyDelete
  193. Hes also the most annoying "john, c'mon john, this is what you get john, how does it feel john?" Taken out of context it sounds like hes making love to him. In context its just annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  194. And the company is going to be inherited by his insecure, doofus son-in-law, and his idiot daughter. SUPER.

    ReplyDelete
  195. His daughter and her husband have to share some of that blame, with their dubious decision making, and her absolutely horrible ideas, writing, and supervision.

    ReplyDelete
  196. Yes, but it was penciled in (again) last year. And I bet it will be penciled in again. Because apparently it's not WrestleMania unless a Sheamus vs. Bryan match is on the table at some point.
