  12. I nominate Jesse Ventura and Michael Cole as the announcers only to see Ventura go on rant about how stupid Cole is. Then Cole runs off and gets replaced by Gorilla Monsoon for the actual tournament itself.

  13. jbl, d lo and the mountie

    ReplyDelete
  14. We can make the IC title important even if WWE doesn't want to.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I wasn't sure who to vote for, then I watched that video and the answer became clear.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm all in on Rick Rude for this tourney.

    ReplyDelete
  17. We just having fun Maggle!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Love this one. But we've got to get the Mountie in.

    JBL
    Billy Gunn
    Dean Douglas

Not necessarily my favorites, but the guys I think would actually be booked to win.

  20. oh Jesus Christ JBL is going to advance, what the fuck

    ReplyDelete
  21. I voted JBL because I am barely familiar with the work of some of the other options.. and I also voted for Janetty. Imagine his sell of the Clothesline From Hell.

    Jericho vs. British Bulldog. Hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Warrior beats all these bitches. Man only dropped the title 'cause he'd moved onto the world title.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Lance, Rikishi and (I'm ashamed to say it) Billy Gunn.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I almost went with Gunn, too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I guess I'll turn in my smark card (I already celebrated Warrior and admitted to voting for JBL), but I never liked the Mountie. I might like him more if I revisited his stuff now...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I was scrolling through the list and thinking "This is pretty good. They all even look like they'd be decently watchable matches." Then Santino vs Axel had to go and throw off my groove right at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You'll go to hell for not voting for the mountie.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Don't, he's one of the most rest hold happy assholes in wrestling history. And his theme is over rated.

At this rate the Mountie movement may the YES movement of 2015

    ReplyDelete
  35. I know we can get him past Pedro too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The only way I'd have voted for Mountie to go over is if he'd been in the Billy Gunn match instead of Gunn. Even then, I'd have likely gone Road Dogg instead.

    Canadians over Puerto Rican's!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Find a more boring wrestler, you can't.

    ReplyDelete
  39. And he got JPL fired in 95 killing JPL's great feud with Bret over Brets jacket.

    ReplyDelete
  40. He didn't really get to have that many matches as champ but overall he has had some great matches and the Quebecers were really good too.

    ReplyDelete
  41. You're ignoring 3 MAJOR points:

    1) He's hansome
    2) He's brave
    3) He's strong

Come back when you know your shit.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Never. And I'm not being sarcastic or trolling, I'm being serious. He's never had a good match ever.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Kerry Von Erick vs. Curt Angle would be a main event in any arena in the country.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It was really strange watching as a 'smart' fan too, because The Observer knew it was a non-title match for a month or two leading up to it. I just kept waiting for them to say SOMETHING and they never did. I don't know why they didn't just have Hogan drop the title to Piper at Starrcade and get it back at Superbrawl, but probably a Hogan thing.

    ReplyDelete
  45. That's exactly how I'm voting as well. I'm also only considering the wrestler as they were during their reign as IC Champ. For the multi-timers; I only consider their best reign.

I'd also like to add Bret to that list.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Randy Savage vs. Kurt Angle should main event this tournament

    ReplyDelete
  47. I keep meaning to register a domain one of these days (I'm still sorry I let shootingstarpress.com expire about a decade ago), but I have a personal blog as sort of the home base for the time being.

  49. Barbarian rules.

  50. I was around at the time, and remember a TON of smark hate going towards Hogan for being so old, decrepit, and never defending the Title. His 20-minute promos and glory-hogging the hot nWo concept annoyed people, too.

Of course, it's hard to criticize too much, since this was WCW's hottest era.
