  1. 84 questions? It will be time to fill out the next one by the time I am done.

  2. The "84 questions" thing includes the write-ins for each vote (which most people don't use), the email for ID purposes and a couple procedural checkbuttons ("do you want to be alerted via email of the results" things). There's 41 categories.

  3. Thanks for clarifying an for putting all the effort you do into it... didn't mean it to seem critical or anything, and I will still fill it out... cool avatar as well.

  4. Way too many questions. I also don't like that Daniel Bryan is up for so many negative awards like most overrated and worst promo.

  5. If RSPWFAQ does win, let me be the first to take credit for creating a certain ambiance and sophistication to this site. You're welcome.

However, I voted for: 1. OSW Review. 2. Steve Austin Show. 3. Place To Be Nation. Sorry, Maffew. Sorry, Scott.

  6. I find it difficult to vote for any of the negative categories. Most of the time, I only put one or two selections in there. As much as I've disliked shows and certain angles, I really don't work up too much anger for particular wrestlers.

  7. We've actually stripped out more than a few of the Worst awards over the past couple of years and may continue to do so, for much the same reason. Still, we think it's important to include some of them.

  8. OH WELL NOW EVERYBODY'S HEARD, ABOUT THE BIRD!

    ReplyDelete
  9. With respect to nominations, we edited them beforehand to try and weed out trolls and mistakes. We thought a lot about D-Bry's nomination for Most Overrated and let it go mostly because he got an enormous push and then fell apart with injuries - "Overrated" refers to push versus drawing ability, nothing more.

And we tend to err on the side of including nominations. Everybody's got opinions, etc.

  10. Oh, we're well aware it's still an assload of categories. I nearly typed "it's only 41 categories" then looked at it and grimaced.

  11. I'm comfortable voting for them, but the only one I really enjoy is the Worst Promotional Move. The one I feel bad about is Worst Feud, because even good wrestlers will get stuck in pointless, incoherent, or actively bad feuds - Ambrose/Wyatt and Paige/AJ stand out in that category, and that feels unfair to the wrestlers who have to work with what they're given.

For next year, would it be possible to get an award for wrestlers who made the most out of the worst material, or got the dumbest things over? Is that too close to Most Underrated?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I think Worst Feud is more often a condemnation of writers than of wrestlers, personally.

And I think Most Underrated mostly describes what you're discussing perfectly. (If a wrestler gets something dumb over, by definition he's succeeding. Lots of things that get over are dumb.)

  13. Roman Reigns being out because of a hernia operation has to be the Most Disappointing News Item of 2014, right?

I mean, nothing else compares to WWE losing the Juggernaut/Big Dog/Roman Empire, right?

  14. 84 survey questions? I felt like I was taking the SAT test.. Is this thing on a curve?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I wrote in AJ/Paige for one of them as all internet sites are seemingly trying to pretend it wasn't atrocious because they are infatuated with both of them.

  16. Love MGK, but that took WAY too long for me to just knock out casually at work. Maybe later.

  17. "The Theszies is trending, Maggle! Hashtag Theszies!"

    ReplyDelete
  18. For feud of the year, I have to go with WWE vs WWE fans.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ding, ding, sing. We have a winner.

    ReplyDelete
  20. This thing is way. Too. Long.

Especially when based on previous winners I'll likely be underwelmed with several categories winner...which is fine, that's the point of a popularity poll but for a dumb popular opinion poll this is stupid time consuming.

  21. Fair enough--thanks for explaining

  22. Does voting for these awards make you a Theszbian?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am utterly shocked that anyone is still visiting newsgroups.

They messaged me to let me know my fans wouldn't fuck the voting this year.
So be sure to write in every answer as ''Stevie Richards'' instead.

Seriously though, I never expected that many people to give that much of a fuck and I'm sorry if the good name of RSPW was dragged through the mud. But it was worth it.

    -Two-Time, Two-Time RSPW Award Winner.
