SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME!

So for those who thought the Demolition-Warriors battle of the last tournament was intense, check this out:  I was going to close the voting tonight on the second round, but we have TWO matches in a virtual dead heat, by which I mean decided by less than TEN votes each!  Each of the following is currently deadlocked 49.5% – 50.5%, so this is your last chance to vote for your favorite before I shut it down later tonight.

The contenders:

  1. I would have thought both of these winners were no brainers.

  2. Cool. Votes going down to the wire are awesome.

  3. Sometimes I vote based on what the potential of the team might have been if they'd teamed longer, so I'm an Austin/Michaels guy. Superkick into Stunner, a la the superkick into Pedigree from Mania 28 would be a hell of a finish.

  4. Jannetty and 1-2-3 kid are right up there with Strikefofce as all time teams that just instantly gelled and were gone as quick as they came. They don't get the love they deserve. Great team.

  5. Austin wins when the other 3 OD on various drugs.

  6. If there is a tie, I assume both teams are eliminated?

  7. I'll never get the love for the Marty/Kid team.

  8. Just so crisp and natural during a team when others just weren't. Amazing what they were able to do in such a short period.

  9. i don't vote on what if's

    ReplyDelete
  10. I've so far voted on which teams music is better, if I like one team's tights better, if one of the members of the team is a double murderer, etc. I'm the world's least consistent voter.

  11. This whole fantasy tournament is a what if.

  12. triple threat in next round

  13. I voted how good they were as a team. Sure rockertaker could have been awesome but they only fought for 2 matches.

  14. Bzzzz. Don't penalize the team that actually won.

    Double elimination.

  16. HBK and Austin would turn on each other or HBK would be "injured" and unable to compete leaving Austin alone.
Smoking Gunns sucked. They struggled during one of the weakest tag team eras.

    ReplyDelete
  17. well how is it fair for a team to have a bye; they could be a horrible team and possibly not even beat the 2 teams that are eliminated

    ReplyDelete
  18. Nope, Teddy Long will turn it into a six man tag, playa

  19. HOLLA! HOLLA! HOLLA! HOLLA! HOLLA!

    ReplyDelete
  20. The smoking guns held the titles multiple times. Kid and janetty only a week. Got to go with the guns

  21. The Gunns were dumb Cowboys. Totally couldn't get away with shooting off blanks like they did in today's world. Truly a pre 9/11 gimmick if there ever was one. I hope they get left in the dirt. Scumbags.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah I just look at them as a team with a ton of potential since they didn't accomplish that much as a team. They really could have rejuvenated the tag team division.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Usually I base my votes on the quality of work from their tag title reigns too, but I couldn't in good conscience vote against Kid and Jannetty because I was such a big mark for them.

    ReplyDelete
  24. But... Kid and Jannetty are the ultimate underdog upset team. If you're voting just fantasy style where "anything could happen" - sure, why not?

I did however vote for the Gunns

    ReplyDelete
  25. Haha was watching a Gunns match recently and saw them fire off those blanks and that's the first thing I thought off too. Never bothered me seeing it as a kid at the time so maybe I'm just getting old.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I wish the Bodies had a tag team title run just on their stealing the Gunns' hats and doing the fake gunshots.

    ReplyDelete
  27. If there was no-one left then I wouldn't mind the Gunns having the belts but WWF should have kept the belts on Kid and Holly. Pissed me off when Gunns beat them.

  28. WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah, but I wanted a year long reign, not a flimsy week long reign.
