Tag Tournament: Round of 32!

Let’s do it.  Some pretty awesome matchups in this round, actually.  Tell me that Quebecers v. Rock N Sock wouldn't be the most entertaining match in history?

Comments

  1. Probably the best workrate block so far.

  2. Pretty easy picks this round, though Goldust & Stardust vs Owen Hart & Yokozuna was the most difficult for me.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I would watch most of these matches.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Wow 3 kane teams; quite the tag team specialist

    ReplyDelete
  5. Are you gonna vote for a couple of Canadian heroes? Or are you gonna vote for the Toothfairy and Santa Claus? The choice is yours. VIVE LE QUEBECERS!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Money inc v road warriors would be an awesome fight

    ReplyDelete
  7. Watch summer slam 92.. Not very good

    ReplyDelete
  8. Summerslam '92 begs to differ.

    ReplyDelete
  9. A parallel universe featuring healthy Ted DiBiase and Give a Shit Mike Rotunda (last seen before becoming a goddamned sea captain).

    ReplyDelete
  10. I liked Kane and xpac team. They had a lot of face heat. The height of Kane's and x-PAC face run. A very fun team who should have gotten a longer title run

    ReplyDelete
  11. hahaha. Piss off Kane & X-Pac, the champs are here. Steiners for the win.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Wow I totally forgot they fought. Just read Scott's review and it looks like it was lod's last few weeks in wwe

    ReplyDelete
  13. Steiners in their prime vs. Edge & Christian is a match I wish we could see

    ReplyDelete
  14. I don't think any team in the world could beat Andre and Haku in a real fight.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hart Foundation vs Benoit/Jericho would have Scott passing out from his marking out.

    ReplyDelete
  16. ALLONS-Y, JACQUES ET PIERRE!

    VICTOIRE POUR QUEBEC!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Any chance of Eddie Guerrero wrestling himself in the final?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Damn those random brackets! There are still so many awkward teams left!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Only team I want to see lose are La Resistance.
And how are DB and Kane advancing? Logic says they should have turned on each other 7 or 8 times by now. Those bumbling WM1 teams should have made easy work of them.

    ReplyDelete
  20. What would set Quebecers - Rock & Sock apart would be the Jimmy Hart factor.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I've learned that, regrettably, Jacques et Pierre have suffered injuries heading into their match with Rock and Mankind.

Subbing for them will be noted Quebecois heroes Brock L'Esnar and, um... "C'est Aime" Punk.

Yeah, that's the ticket. Or "C'est le billet."

    ReplyDelete
  22. In the mid-2000s a law was passed dictating that Kane, Booker T or RVD must be in a wacky tag team at all times.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jimmy never managed the Quebecers? Damn my memory.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh, and the match is being contested under "Province of Quebec" rules.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hoping for the Steiners vs. the Road Warriors in the tournament finals. But I'm predicting that Edge and Christian go all the way.

    ReplyDelete
  26. And in the fake world Andre and Haku should mop the floor with every team left. Unless Haku works the whole match and Andre is unable to break up pinfalls due to being tied up in the ropes.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The only thing I remember about Taker/BigShow is that one godawful promo.

    ReplyDelete
  28. A little respect please. Who else could have tricked those brain-dead Steiners into defending their titles under Quebec Province Rules?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Pfft, like Andre ever got tied up in the ropes. Next you'll say Ric Flair's ass was exposed during matches.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well he did manage Jacques... but I'm sure for an event of this magnitude he'll be escorting Money Inc and The Natural Disasters to the ring ;)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jimmy spent thousands on custom jackets and headwear for this tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Not Frenchy Martin, that's for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  33. UT might have been the most protected guy ever, and this is part of it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Shawn and Austin are proving to be the wackiest of all the wacky tag teams. They're trailblazers in that genre of tag teaming.

    ReplyDelete
  35. HEEL E&C. We'd need to see cowardice and awesome bumping.

    ReplyDelete
  36. is it wrong of me to keep voting for Money Inc. just for the theme music? (in fairness, I voted Demolition over LOD for that reason alone.)

and aw fuck, UT/Kane are making the next round, aren't they?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I voted Money Inc.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's happened before. Just ask Colin "Bomber" Harris!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Only hard one for me in this round was Bulldogs vs Colossal Connection. Fuck those matches would tear the house down. Unbelievable!

    ReplyDelete
  40. If e&c do win it, they did not have any easy matchups

    ReplyDelete
  41. Jannetty and 1-2-3 kid!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've been watching a lot of 2003 Smackdown recently (because when you think today's product sucks, going back and watching Vince and Mr America take a lie detector test really puts things in perspective) and Eddy and Tajiri were a MUCH better team than Eddy and Chavo. I like Chavo fine, but for some reason he never really clicked in that team, maybe because he and Eddy were too similar. Plus, Tajiri is awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  43. No way I'm letting La Resistance get any further. Andre/Haku v. Bulldogs would be a kickass dream match for me.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Team Hell No was pretty good for a wacky team. Long reign that wasn't months between title defenses, and some great stuff with the Shield.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Agree on Bulldogs vs Colossal Connection. Disagree on La Resistance.

    ReplyDelete
  46. LOL!

Michael "Hawk" Hegstrand left the company in disgust with the Rocco gimmick immediately after SummerSlam 1992 at Wembley Stadium. He then went AWOL in London after the event with John Nord (The Berzerker) and missed the flight back to the US, while Joseph "Animal" Laurinaitis stuck around and finished the team's contractual obligations with former Demolition member Crush (now repackaged from his Demolition character to being a face, becoming a tanned, muscle guy from the beaches of his native Hawaii) replacing Hawk on house shows, before an injury to his back forced him into a lengthy hiatus.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Pfft. Next you'll say HUlk Hogan will no sell someone's finishing move and shake like he's having a seizure.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Any chance that Benoit and Jericho make it past the Hart Foundation? I've been rooting for Canadian Violence to take the tourney.

    ReplyDelete
  49. That's true--their bracket is the hardest of the bunch. The Road Warriors have the easiest go at it with their only real challenge having come from Demolition in round 1. If they lose before the finals it will be a big upset.

    ReplyDelete
  50. And if they win, just imagine the wacky promos.

"I'M the David Crockett Tournament Champions!"
"No, I'M the David Crockett Tournament Champions!"

    ReplyDelete
  51. They were the kings of the JTTS Champs (La Rez). Brothers of Destruction were at least worthy of being featured on a B-show.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Eh.... I went with the Foundation. Can't crack the Foundation.

    ReplyDelete
  53. OK, that might be the best pitch in favor of Team Hell No. Everyone vote Hell No!

    ReplyDelete
  54. La Res are a tag team gimmick. They were French. I just won't vote for a KANE team. I won't do it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I voted Money Inc.
