Congratulations to the Mountie, Lance Storm, and...Marty Jannetty? Yeah, Marty. Anyway, good job to all three for fighting through the other awesome competition and securing spots in the greatest 64 man tournament of all time. Minus Pedro Morales.
Voting begins later tonight!
Yeah, Marty! At least one of my three pity picks made it!
ReplyDeletevote totals?
ReplyDeleteYou know what's crazy? Unless I'm missing him, one person who does not appear on this tournament list...The Undertaker.
ReplyDeletePretty sure Marty won strictly off the fact many people have re-watched the 93 & 94 Raws on the Network and appreciated how good he was when he was on. And rightfully so.
ReplyDeleteUndertaker never won the IC title. C'mon man, that's a layup.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Jannetty.
ReplyDeleteThe dream becomes reality! Let the great. Experiment begin!!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone please join me in voting The Mountie over Pedro Morales. LONG LIVE THE MOUNTIE!
ReplyDeleteYeah, his IC title reign of terror will never be forgotten!
ReplyDeleteWe get no vote totals for playins.
ReplyDeleteDude, I realize that. I'm just pointing out that a guy who was around for 20+ years, did everything, was the most protected guy in the company, but he never had a run with the IC title that 73 other guys got and was tossed around like a hot potato. Just kind of...something to consider
ReplyDeletebest news all day.
ReplyDeleteOh, well, that's fair. But your comment totally didn't reflect that train of thought. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteI am laying it all on the line here. If Pedro Morales beat the Mountie I leave the BoD FOREVER!!!!! Please everyone, let me stay here and post. Vote for the Mountie.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you forcing me to vote for Pedro Morales?
ReplyDeleteFuck The Mountie. He only had the title for 2 days and lost it in his first defense. I tried to take this tournament as well as the last one from a serious point of view. I voted for each entrant based on how they stacked up against the other guy(s). I get voting based on personal preference, fun, whatever. But really? Rougeau?
ReplyDeleteWhen I used to fantasy book as a 14 year old, using the SNES Royal Rumble game to simulate matches, I used to always put the Undertaker in IC matches. He was actually my go to IC guy and Bret and Shawn traded the World title.
ReplyDeleteYou'll vote for Pedro because you love his in ring style and hate the Mounties gimmick.
ReplyDeleteI'M THE MOUNTIE!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean how they stack up? If it was just about who had the belt the longest we can just look at the list from Wikipedia. Why bother with having a tournament.
ReplyDeleteAll three guys I voted for made it through! Long live the Mountie! His Rumble match with Piper was awesome, and his heel act really made Piper a super face.
ReplyDeleteI'M THE MOUNTIE!!!!
ReplyDeleteBEHOLD THE GREATEST INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION OF ALL TIME!

I guess you're right, I was just trying to dramatize the point.
ReplyDeleteI'm the Mountie and so's my wife!
ReplyDeleteBeat you to it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on how to vote. However, when all of the title reigns are less than 2 weeks, it is kind of hard to distinguish between them. Besides, I also remember his title reign more than the others.

ReplyDeleteSuck it.
Day for day no question he was the GOAT!
ReplyDeleteThis shit is passing by WAY TOO fast. Who the fuck won the tag team one?!
ReplyDeleteThe Mountie.

ReplyDeleteLook at how the IC belt glistens against his glorious red shirt.
Jannetty and the 1-2-3 Kid.
ReplyDeleteThe Mountie as a character was portrayed as a loser in general for its whole existence, was never considered a serious threat, and the wrestler that portrayed The Mountie had previously been himself, which was also portrayed as a loser. I'm not hating on the gimmick itself, just the booking and the portrayal. The gimmick could have been awesome if the booking was there.
ReplyDeleteOnly because he lost the belt to Piper. That was a Moment.
ReplyDeleteThey need to bring back the black leather for that belt...the white doesn't work for everyone.

ReplyDeleteBeing an IC champ requires the chin of a greek god.

Flagged.

ReplyDeleteAND HERE WE GO!
Red signifies danger, so maybe it was his subconscious way of saying "Danger: putting the IC title on me will kill your B-houseshow business".
ReplyDeleteLIES
ReplyDeleteOnly because they ran shows in towns full of criminals and because he was a mountie, he did his duty and arrested them all.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Mountie could have been the top babyface if his gimmick came along the same time Due South became popular.
ReplyDeleteHey, looks like Jarrett finally gets to work with Austin after all!
ReplyDeleteWe know.
ReplyDeleteGotcha
ReplyDeleteJarrett should win that one because Austin did nothing as IC champion.
ReplyDeleteNew avatar. I suggest everyone do the same. We need to show solidarity in our love of The Mountie while he is unfairly attacked by latinos like Pedro Morales. #Ferguson
ReplyDeleteIf I wasn't so lazy, I'd change my avatar to Marty.
ReplyDeleteThe Mountie: Bravely defending Canada's borders from illegal Mexican immigrants since 1991.
ReplyDeleteSo that's why he shocked Tito at WM7.
ReplyDeletewell neither did Hogan. I can recall him only ever getting 1 title shot at the IC belt: wrestlemania 6
ReplyDeleteExcept make it nearly as important as the WWF title in the fall of 1997.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Cult. Enough with lawless PR's attacking honest and heroic law enforcement officials.
ReplyDeleteConsidering The Mountie was up against Test, Rikishi, and Dean Douglas he more than stacks up well against those three.
