Potential Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler Match at WrestleMania on Hold?

Right now there is talk that the company will keep Ziggler & Ryback as a team and have them work a tag match at WrestleMania. Some in the company are even speculating that the Bryan vs. Reigns match was made for Fast Lane because the company has already started heading into a different direction for WrestleMania

  1. Zigglers/Ryback vs Kane/Big Show.

    Who does the job?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Today's News: Yes movement is getting Daniel Bryan into the Main event, watch Raw to see what happens.
Tomorrows news: WWE is against Bryan being in the main event, watch WWE to see what happens instead.

    WWE are marketing geniuses.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Kane, because he can just go away for a short while, come back with the mask and be considered a main eventer again no matter how much he jobs in the meantime.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I doubt many believed Triple H when he said he didn't have an issue with Punk.

    ReplyDelete
  5. bWo have done another interview today talking about their legacy and careers.

They were actually so over and well remembered that a comedy jobber stable from a no3 promotion gets talked about still.
Why is Paul Heyman not running the booking of WWE's midcard right now?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think the answer is somewhere in the middle, as it usually is. There's quite obviously issues there, but I think from HHH's end of it, the issues were more just that he was so goddamn difficult to work with. Punk's issues with them were much deeper and numerous, I'd say.

So while there clearly were issues, I fully believe HHH and Vince when they say they'd work with him again. But I also think Punk's complaints are most likely valid, by and large, and he's largely justified in not wanting to work with them again.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Just wanted you guys opinion on something. Was watching a commercial for the wwe hall of fame on the WWE. And saw Undertaker do that "on one knee with his arm up in the air thing" towards paul bearer's family (I think). Is that all he did? Would it have killed the guy to break character and thank him without the hokey shit? Ive only seen that not the show. So appologies if he gave a heart warming speech.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I do believe however that Punk is the kind of guy to grumble about things to friends and then when someone like HHH comes up to him and asks straight up he'd say that things were cool. Punk wasn't exactly the kind of guy to pour his heart out, he probably thrived on that resentment.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Slow news day.

    This just in:

    I love ice cream.

    Credit me

    ReplyDelete
  10. I think HHH would be fine with working with Punk again. It's also palpable that HHH and Punk just don't mesh as people. You can hear the bile in their voices when talking about one another.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Agree that Bryan/Ziggler should be off the table. Bryan's the most over guy in the company and last year was the main focal point of Mania, and this year he's gonna have a no-feud, no-stakes nothing match against a midcard babyface who loses all the time? NO BUYS.

If he's not gonna get a title match, then I'd much rather see Bryan have a match against Sheamus. At least Sheamus would be a heel and come in with more credibility than Ziggler, and they'd be able to craft a more heated angle than "Let's go out there and steal the show buddy!!"

    ReplyDelete
  12. He did not, and I have no problem with what he did. Seemed appropriate.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm pretty sure it's all he did, and I'm willing to wager that the Moody family loved it. They weren't at his funeral, after all. They were at a WWE event.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm reminded of the Angle/Benoit match at WM17, it was thrown together a week before the show because they have nothing else to do with them despite being incredibly popular.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 100% opposites in every way

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ok. I will accept that. Just wondering :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. HOSS 3:16

    ReplyDelete
  18. That's moot if he contacted them personally which I assume he did.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Although it was reported on Tuesday via Reddit user "MetsFan4Ever" that
WWE officials were considering changing NXT star Kalisto's gimmick to
that of a gay hair stylist, WWE sources reached out today and claimed
that is not the case, and that Kalisto will not be changing characters
    at all.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Gonna have some ICE CREAM today!

    :: Hoss dance ::

    ReplyDelete
  27. So when is Cena turning heel? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  28. Not that I was in favour of a Ziggler/Bryan match, but Ziggler's never getting out of the midcard, is he?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I thought we agreed the Hoss Dance would simulate you eating ice cream cones and not popsicles. It looks wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have a better idea, give him the arc.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wasn't Angle a heel? That match had some heat that a face/face "Let's do cool movez pal!" Bryan/Ziggler match wouldn't be able to have.

Plus Ziggler is nowhere near as good or as credible as Benoit or Angle were at that point, and Bryan is a way bigger deal now than Benoit or Angle were at the time. This match is having the guy who won Mania last year now sink down to wrestling a virtual job guy a year later, PLUS there's the match would have no stakes or feud attached to it. It's garbage.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I believe most of the beef was Punk's way as he clearly (and was probably justified) still upset about booking decisions made many months earlier. He's a guy that holds grudges and HHH probably has enough shit on his table from day to day not to think about those things.

That being said I'm sure HHH hated dealing with Punk when he had to because I'm sure Punk wasn't an easy hand to deal with.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Many kinds. Faves include baskin ribbons chocolate chip and culvers coconut chocolate almond crunch.

    ReplyDelete
  34. "It has to be this one. It looks like a conditioner bottle, and Jesus would have wanted to have rockin' hair like mine"

    ReplyDelete
  35. What about Curtis Axel? The man loses both his spot in the Royal Rumble and his tag team partner (yeah Rybxel broke up but now Ryback is back in tag competition with someone else).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Nope. Maybe here and there, he'll have flashes of ascendency but for the most part, he's stuck. He's nearing his mid-thirties and if they didn't push him after his superhuman effort at Survivor Series, they never will.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yeah, the holy conditioner is better.

    ReplyDelete
  38. How'd I find the one chick in 2015 that wants to hook up but doesn't like to suck dick. How is this even a thing? I'm blown away.

    Should I even bother?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Almost definitely not. Read a smackdown recap and the dude comes out next to Ryback wearing a "The Little Guy" workout belt.

I think the midcard is where Ziggler should be, actually.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Consider a fat white guy doing the Icky Woods Shuffle.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yeah, 34, and has had the Ziggler gimmick since 2008.

    ReplyDelete
  42. What's weird is now they've done THREE moments with him that could have been truly star-making, iconic moments and just done nothing with it: his win over Cena with the superkick at TLC '12, his post-WM29 Raw cash-in on ADR, and beating the Authority at Survivor Series.
    And then just nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Does she want you to go down on her? Because if she does and won't reciprocate, she's a selfish bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ziggler and Cody Rhodes could be great pillars of the midcard.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Survivor Series was meant as a showcase for Sting. I said it when it happens and all of their booking since says it had nothing to do with Ziggler at all. He was just a prop for Sting to come save to start the feud with HHH no one wants to see.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Plus his offense is about as weak as it gets. Aside from the fact that he has the least protected finishers in wrestling history, the dude also spends 90% of his matches bumping like a maniac. Which can be fun to watch, but doesn't exactly make him seem like a star.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You can only have so many 'star-making' moments before people just won't buy it anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Mr.McMahon Utopia video gets better after trolling the fan base multiple times.

  49. The one in seeing now kept holding out on it and building it up to be this magical experience I'd eventually get. It really wasn't any different than any other ones.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah, but to answer your question, one would actually have to care about Curtis Axel.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I still have hope for Cody. He's still only 29.

    ReplyDelete
  52. That's the thing: each time, people have definitely bought it. He was right there with people ready for him to be a huge star. I'm not advocating him being The Guy or anything, but there's no good reason he isn't a permanent fixture in the upper echelon by now.

    ReplyDelete
  53. consulting with rasslin fans for advice probably isn't your best route.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I ain't ever cared about Curtis Axel and I ain't fixin to start now.

    ReplyDelete
  55. His offense is to bump so insanely the opponent thinks he hass legit killed him. Then when the guy is distracted BAM! Zig Zag outta nowhere for a 2 count before losing.

He uses this same formula whether fighting Mark Henry, Rusev, or Fandango. The guy doesn't understand the importance of selling moves at all, he just knows he's really good at bumping.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Find a chick who loves to give oral early and often. Otherwise, cut 'em loose. Otherwise, they'll never give it out and you'll be one of those poor guys who has to 'ask' for it 'because it's my Birthday'.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I don't say it as a slight to Cody. Huge fan. But being "midcard" shouldn't be a bad thing.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't know what that looks like.

Can I just imagine a fat white guy doing the Truffle Shuffle?

    ReplyDelete
  68. really? I think a lot of their issues come from being similar people. Sometimes you hate the guys who are like you most of all.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I've said this before, but not only is his offensive arsenal weak, it's also shallow. He'll just repeat moves.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Another case of if there was a credible, legit #2 wrestling promotion Cody and Ziggler would be prime candidates to go there, become world champs, make a load of money and up their profile as stars.

Instead you can probably fast forward to Wrestlemania 35 when Cody and Ziggler will both still be in the pre-show battle royal and Booker T will be referring to them as "two young guys trying to make a name for themselves in this biznass."

    ReplyDelete
  71. You're right. And Cody's made the absolute most of everything he's been given.

  73. Yeah. Paul Bearer's sons actually said on Twitter or Facebook that they loved it and that their Dad would have too, due to The Internet having a shit-fit over the idea of CM Punk / WWE / Undertaker 'disrespecting' Paul Bearer like that.

    ReplyDelete
  74. If the midcard was booked the way it was booked in the 80s and 90s it wouldn't be a bad thing. It wouldn't be a bad thing to start booking people to take over Big Show and Kane's spot.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I always thought that if they were going to go Kayfabe, they should have had a moment with Kane, Taker, Foley, and maybe Vader all out there together.

    ReplyDelete
  85. My ex was a filthy, filthy thing who would do just about anything and everything... except give head. For some girls is an exception.

Does this chick describe herself as 'bi' at all? Sometimes I've found that means "I'm mostly attracted to other girls, but I'll be with a guy so long as I don't have to touch his penis with my mouth".

    ReplyDelete
  88. The Survivor Series one is the biggest shame, but sadly, that moment would've been for Reigns had he not been injured. Dolph was pretty much a sub for Roman in that whole feud.

    ReplyDelete
  89. In what way?

I know movesets are generally reduced across the board in WWE to punchy-kicky stuff, but honestly--- whenever I watch a Ziggler match I'm amazed at how little offense he gets in and how unmemorable his offensive spots are.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Very good insight here.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Just watched the MITB match from WM25, and I'm struck by the fact that no matter how amazing the MITB matches are, no matter how many great spots there are, all the matches blend into one another in a way that normal ladder matches don't.

    ReplyDelete
  99. maybe she's waiting to reveal her sick fetish to you.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Cody's got one of the best movesets in WWE. His spots all look good. He's got a good moonsault, good springboard clothesline, Beautiful Disaster kick looks great, Crossrhodes is awesome, he's got solid punches, and the moves he adopted from Dustin work well too.

Get him out of the facepaint!

    ReplyDelete
  103. Also, I don't care how filthy she is, that no oral thing is dangerously close to a deal breaker.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Zigglers real problem is foot in the mouth disease.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Exactly. I'd say it's a problem for babyfaces across the board in WWE but Ziggler NEVER just has a few minutes ina match where he's beating the shit out of anyone. I know he's supposed to be the sympathetic underdog, but so is Daniel Bryan and he absolutely murderizes heels when he gets the chance. Ziggler will hit Fandango with a dropkick, and then two seconds later he's doing a 360 flip from a Fandango clothesline.

    ReplyDelete
  115. That's bumping. I'm talking about his (apparently underrated at least around here) offense. I agree about his bumping. It's his greatest strength and weakness for just that reason.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed the match, I was blown away by some of the spots, but I know tomorrow i'll forget everything about it.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Agreed.

You know which one stuck out for me? The recent one that Rollins one, because they actually did that awesome angle where Ambrose fights his way back from an injury into the match and almost wins. It was a MITB match with an actually angle and a face/heel feud dynamic.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Roman Reigns has also been doing interviews where he comes across as a dick. I think Roman will Dolph himself by the end of the year.

  137. 'Reddit user MetsFan4Ever, a verified WWE insider who has broke news in the past, has said that Roman Reigns will win his match with Daniel Bryan at WWE Fast Lane and face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. The only reason the Reigns/Bryan match was made, according to MetsFan4Ever, is so WWE can please the “marks” while getting Reigns over. They will stick with their plan regardless of how the fans react because Reigns vs Lesnar is the planned main event of Wrestlemania 31.

He also said that WWE knows people will watch Wrestlemania regardless of the card. He said he was told they could book Doink the Clown vs Brock Lesnar and fans would still watch because Wrestlemania is bigger than anyone on the show.

Even though Reigns is going over at Fast Lane, Bryan was picked to get him ready for Wrestlemania. Bryan is considered one of the most physical wrestlers on the roster and can prepare Reigns for a match with Lesnar.'

    ReplyDelete

  140. Ziggler/Ryback tag team is so stupid. You know what this show needs? Solid non-authority heels. Ziggler and Ryback have nothing to do? Turn one or both heel. Ziggler could work with anyone up or down the card. For instance, if Roman Reigns is your guy and you need to keep his momentum going, who better than the sell machine that Ziggler is to make him look amazing for his first post Mania program.

  160. They don't have another closing match IMO.

If Reigns/Lesnar is mediocre to bad.
Sting/HHH is bad (and it should be)
Wyatt/Taker is bad (and it should be, Taker is elderly)

And you're not doing Bryan/Ziggler. This could be a pretty awful wrestling card.

Where is there a legitimate match you have no doubt will be good?

  161. Sting-HHH could have that "sports-entertainment" feel to it similar to the Vince-Hogan match from WM 19, but it still shouldn't be the main event. Could this WM supplant the others as worst ever?

  162. Am I the only one who thinks his "high spots" are shit? It's like the Cena Moves of Doom. I'm tired of them all, we can all see them coming, and I am desperate for them to change it.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Well problem solved, cause if that match happens Ambrose is jobbing like the jobbiest jobber who's ever jobbed.

    ReplyDelete
  164. To be fair that hypothetical main event still features Brock Lesnar, not sure people would still watch if it was Doink Vs Adam Rose.

What do they mean this MetsFan4Ever dude is 'verified WWE insider'? Verified by who?

Sheamus loses very rarely ,so I'd have Ambrose win.

  166. Why is the AA a finishing move? It's just a body slam/fireman's carry. I don't understand why its played up as a huge finishing move.

And what other finishers do you feel are lacking impact?

  167. He is right but like it or not within many corporate cultures you don't air out the company's dirty laundry out in public.

  168. I don't know, Sting was pretty bad last time he was in a ring, and Sting hasn't been around in months and his debut kind was kind of underwhelming anyway. There's no natural animosity behind a Sting/HHH match whereas you had a wealth of story depth to Vince/Hogan.

So I could see being a pretty lame match with not a lot of heat for the story.

  169. Sheamus would be fine taking a loss. Multi-time World Champion and has been a presence for 5 years now. If only he could actually get healthy. There are quite a few matches I'd like to see from Sheamus.

  170. no, b/c I'll be there getting drunk and having fun regardless.

  171. Not sure who he has been verified by but hasn't he been dead on with many of his predictions?

  172. I doubt it could beat WrestleMania 2 or 11 for that claim.

I think the set up is what legitimizes that one. It's basically a body slam but the pageantry makes it feel more important.

  174. If Ziggler & Ryback do indeed stay as a team, who would they face at Mania? Ascension is all I can think of and they are terrible. Doubt they give Kidd & Cesaro a tag match

That's why it's a finishing move, it causes back aches.

    ReplyDelete
  176. The Spicoli driver was a great move back in the late 90's. Dreamer and Saturn used it a lot. I would hope it hasn't been relegated to transition move the way the spinebuster did. I still feel bad for Arn although I'm sure he's the agent who suggested using it. His was always the most impactful.

    Christian's spear.

    That was just embarrassing.

    ReplyDelete
  181. They're setting it up like Kidd/Cesaro are getting a tag title match at Fast Lane, so I would assume they win the belts and defend at Mania if the plan is to have Ziggler/Ryback as a tag team.

Or, if it's not tag title related, then Ziggler/Ryback face *shudder* Big Show & Kane

    ReplyDelete
  182. Hogan's legdrop was the most devastating finish for years. In wrestling they sell them like big finishing moves and then people react to them as such.

    ReplyDelete
  183. I reckon Kidd & Cesaro are taking the belts from the Usos at Fast Lane, and then facing The Zig Guy at Mania

Which version of the Zig Zag though, the Fameasser version or the other version?

    ReplyDelete
  185. To be fair Christian never won a Worlds Title with his spear. His spear was a transition move. The unprettier was his finish.

    ReplyDelete
  186. It was originally a death valley driver but I guess since Cena was still relatively green in 2003 they told him to change it for safety purposes.
