  1. She's the daughter of former WWE superstar "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka.

  2. I'd like to take the opportunity to give some props to Genichiro Tenryu, who's decided to retire later this year. I always thought he'd keep going until he keeled over in the ring. Salute, you magnificently grumpy old bastard.

  3. You need an editor, Bayless. It should say "Tamina Snuka, daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy 'Super Fly' Snuka..." Guess you just don't understand #branding smdh

    ReplyDelete
  4. Oh, I hadn't heard that.

    ReplyDelete
  5. So the WWE still pays Batista while he's making millions in Hollywood? Guy has it pretty good

    ReplyDelete
  6. Listening to the Jericho podcast with Lanny Poffo...very cool that Randy made a point never to wear the same outfits more than once in a town so that the fans could see something new each time.

    ReplyDelete
  7. LMAO at Vince's intro to Wrestlemania VIII

"In what could be Hulk Hogan's farewell match!!!"

23 years later, guy is still trying to lobby for one more run.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Now you know.

Now let us never speak of this again.

    ReplyDelete
  9. According to a certain someone here, it'll be just the ticket to get WWE out of its current doldrums!

    ReplyDelete
  10. She was AJ's companion/bodyguard for quite a while. Wasn't big on smiling.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Wrestlemania VII - Who the fuck are these guys?

    ReplyDelete
  12. The 94 Rumble was his best WWF moment.

  14. Biff Kensington Has a PosseFebruary 7, 2015 at 8:45 AM

WWE desperately needs that sort of passion back in its product. I know they want to promote 'the brand', whatever that bullshit is, but 9 out of every 10 wrestlers are so banal and nondescript, they sort of run together.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Nobody ever experiments with colourschems any more and the business is worse off for it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Brock Lesnar beats Roman Reigns after Paul Heyman throws salt in Roman's eyes.

Out of nowhere Hulk Hogan to tend to Roman Reigns. Paul Heyman picks up the house mic

"Hogan! My Brock Lesnar issue challenge! Hogan! We will put up heavyweight belt on line right now!"

The world is ready for Zubaz-themed wrestling trunks.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Even simple stuff like Bret's 4 possible combinations, or Perfect's singlet & Back panel. I think the last guy to change it up regularly was Randy Orton when he was first on smackdown.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Biff Kensington Has a PosseFebruary 7, 2015 at 8:50 AM

I don't remember much about Tamina as a worker, but she has to be better than Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes, right?

    ReplyDelete
  20. My god...you're not the Fuj...you're Michael Xavier!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. What? Randy Orton's got ORTON on the back of his black trucks and silhouettes of his generic shitty tribal tattoos in at least 3 different colors! And you say experimentation is dead!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think it's just that he couldn't wrestle anywhere else (or presumably do MMA) because he's under contract, not that he's collecting paychecks for free.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Gorilla "In all my years I've never seen anyone pinned with a side headlock"

Brain: "I've pinned a few people with it"

30 second back and forth ensues.

  26. Hello BoD! In just three hours I will be seeing popular beat-rock combo The Used performing live. I'm very excited!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Shawn Michaels in the 90s has to be #1 in the all time mullet power rankings. It's just incredible.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is my nothing weekend. In three hours I will still be in this chair.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Really wish I wasn't out of town for that NXT show. My dad would have been pumped I was going to the Agora. He saw the Boss there quite a few times in the 70s.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes, but by default.

    ReplyDelete
  31. No one is as worse as them. Well, maybe Eva Marie.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is he a Hall of Famer by any chance? I wish someone would tell me these things.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It's at the Agora?? Wow. That's a classic place. I've seen a bunch of shows there.

Disagree. John Cena's true talent is discovering new shades of contrasting neon.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Eddy's lWo days mullet is still my all time favorite. Followed by Latino Heat era Eddie.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anyone look at the cable ratings? Raw had a good week last week, but the few weeks before that it has been jobbing to football and something called "Gold Rush."

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yup! Never have been there myself. What did you see?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Still not as classic as that venue in Bushkill they were running in the mid-90s.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I have a 3 day weekend. After this day of tremendous activity, I'll be having two days of sweet nothing too.

    ReplyDelete
  40. But once he gets IN the ring, he won't be more adventurous than to choose between cargo & jean shorts. He'd get a pass if he'd dare to wear neon jorts.

    ReplyDelete
  41. That's awesome! I took Monday off too because February is a month that calls for 2 long weekends.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Definitely. There is NO reason for me to have Monday off. It's a total day off for the sake of it. Also booked the Monday off after Fast Lane.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think we'll all need a day off to recover from that barnburner of a PPV.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Has AJ returned or is she still resting up too? I don't watch RAW so may have missed any announcement concerning her return.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Still time to go, but:

    Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea
    Man City 0-1 Hull

If we don't capitalise on this by beating West Ham tomorrow, I'll wander into the goddamn sea.

    ReplyDelete
  46. It's still really weird as a city fan to try and bring myself to be disappointed at throwing away the league title. I know that's what I'm supposed to do now but I can't help but think back to being 18th in league one with the club 60 million in debt and in danger of going out of business.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I thought the real Paul died and was replaced before the Abbey Road album.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Cry, damnit. Cry! Enough of this perspective!

    ReplyDelete
  49. The sun don't shine forever, but as long as it's here then we might as well shine together.

The banning was serious GhostofDanimal was hit with the hammer as well. Just wanted to keep everyone updated.

Continue doing your best. I know your all going to be just fine. I believe in you!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wait. What happened? I went to bed when there was a fight on.

This is why I can't bring myself to hate city despite their newfound success. If there was ever a fanbase and club that deserved billions of dollars of oil wealth ,it's yours.

Banned for what? There is some Roger Goodell level shit going on around this place.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Not sure if I was banned for bad mouthing Cleveland or because Parallax threatened to kill me. Either way no hard feelings. Scott runs a tight ship, we all know that. I just want all you guys to know that I'm doing well and that this too shall pass.

    ReplyDelete

I really hope not. I don't want to see the day that HBK can't get above *** and is only back for nostalgia and a payday. We didn't need the last several HHH vs. HBK matches, let alone another one at age 50

    ReplyDelete
  59. For what? Parallax was getting more out of hand while I was around.

I don't know the whole story, I wasn't around much yesterday, just heard about the banning second-hand.

    ReplyDelete
  64. People get banned here?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Fat, Ugly Inner-City SweathogFebruary 7, 2015 at 9:33 AM

Oh, I absolutely think Punk comes back eventually. Even if UFC goes well (dubious at best), I think he is smart enough to realize that he can make plenty of money not working real fights in the octagon and just come back to deal with Vince's shit. Headline a Mania, make millions more, work a part-timer schedule, whatever. He will be back

    ReplyDelete
  66. You obviously didn't hear that Cleveland Rocks, bro.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Danimal's great and gets banned, while we have that network of trolls who only come on here to tell us we're idiots and they stay? Don't get that.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessFebruary 7, 2015 at 9:33 AM

It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I saw a news article about is America ready for 50 Shades of Grey, and I've of course seen a bunch of news clips about people being up in arms. Of course, the only people up in arms are women.

What is it with chicks? Why do you guys constantly try and stifle and oppress your sexuality? I mean, if this was a film about a dude being all about this, no big deal. But a woman? Woah! Stop the presses!

It seems like so many women want to keep the female sex life in the dark ages. They want missionary in ski-suits. They also pull the old bullshit of "women being exploited". Do they know the books are written by a woman? Do they understand that bondage, dominance, and all that business is fantasy? Most women dig being dominated, but they're always in control. They want it tamed down, it's tamed down. They want it stopped, it's stopped. How is helping people explore their sexuality, find out what they like and don't like, enriching their lives, from a book that's fiction about a story where the whole bondage & dominance act is consensual, EXPLOITATION?!

    Cripes all Friday.

  72. Fat, Ugly Inner-City SweathogFebruary 7, 2015 at 9:35 AM

I could totally see Punk coming back as a corporate guy next night, at least at first. He can do the Hollywood Rock/Batista/Lesnar "bigger than pro wrestling, back to prove it" heel character.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The message is less Danimals, more Dougies, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Too bad. Danimal gets a little over the top from time to time, but generally he's hilarious and his reviews are good. I don't get the hate at all.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Extant1979 - Mr. Cable AccessFebruary 7, 2015 at 9:36 AM

    You'd have to ask Bayless.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Sid, Mike Awesome, and Brian Pillman also deserve to be on Mount Mulletmore.

    ReplyDelete
  77. There's been a massive moaning from women online that this movie is too tame compared to the book. Caliber's an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Fat, Ugly Inner-City SweathogFebruary 7, 2015 at 9:37 AM

If he had gone out on a ***1/4 lackluster match, maybe it would be worth it. But he went out in the main event in a classic match with another "Legend". He pretty much put the exclamation point on the "Mr. Wrestlemania" thing and coming back to work anything less than a ***** match sounds misguided

    ReplyDelete
  79. Punk did it pretty regularly.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Get to cover a funeral today. Always makes me feel like an asshole, especially since I covered one yesterday

    ReplyDelete
  81. Orton's been mixing it up with the grey trunks he first wore at SummerSlam, and the blue one he's worn a few times in addition to the usual black pair. Shame, 'cause I think the black trunks look best.

    ReplyDelete
  82. The only moaning I'm hearing is from people who are offended that such a horrible piece of shit Twilight fan fiction got A) published as a serious novel, and B) has apparently become a film franchise now.

    ReplyDelete
  85. What about Undertaker gyrating to the ring to "Sexy Boy"?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Paul made it up and wrote all the Gospels? That is a interesting theory that even the most educated atheistic bible scholar would debunk. Even John Shelby Spong speculates Paul got his info from Peter - and even the astute Jesus seminar as liberal and wrong as they are admit four different writers penned the Gospels. Spong, who I disagree with, attest them to be midrash revisions of an earlier idea. Spong also admits their was a real a Jesus and a crucifixion. Bart Erhman, the agnostic, also will attest different writers wrote of a real person - who died a tragic death. Paul didn't make it up the crucifixion and Taticus, the roman historian, gives us proof a crucifixion happened. Even Spong days the crucifixion most likely happened. There is plenty of evidence for crucifixion. Plenty of evidence from Jewish sources that Jesus existed and I don't mean Josephus either since that is widely disputed. Isaiah 53 - written 700 years before Jesus was born speaks of His crucifixion. Again Spong would have one believe someone midrashed Isaiah to fit the Gospel / but God foretold His coming in the flesh as a human being to die for all our sins.

  87. Yes. I consider doing that when I don't get a birthday greeting. Alot, but not everyone, are on there 24/7.

  88. Hey, congrats! And no. I remember the day I got engaged, it was an endless stream of notifications all day. But yeah, I did think that if someone didn't care about THIS, they really don't care about anything I might do, so why keep them? But they could've just not been online yesterday.

  107. Nah, but the real John Lennon died in 1965. Ringo died in 1966, and was replaced by Billy Shears. The real George Harrison in 1970. Paul lives.

In reality, none of them died until they died. And John Lennon / a sad person - full of pain that accepted spirituality - then rejected it. Seeked God, but could never totally accept Him. Lennon's early solo work totally rejected Christ, and near the end of his life - he wrestled with the idea. In the end, Yoko's numerology won over everything else. Chapman was a messenger of Satan - and sadly if he had been truly a saved believer in 1980 - he would have never fine what he did.

    ReplyDelete

  133. Yeah Vince logic is if this NXT roster is so good if we show how much better the main roster is by destroying them everyone will think the main roster is twice as good as NXT! Or something.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Hopefully NXT is the one thing HHH fights to keep Vince away from. Since you can't sign a guy and immediately put him on TV anymore, NXT definitely serves it's purpose and has to be protected to a pretty high degree.

    dunno,i dont live there

    ReplyDelete
  137. Yeah, that's petty. Especially because Facebook is weird these days and you don't see everyone's updates even if you have your timeline changed to latest updates.

Like, I have a friend who is battling breast cancer right now and I'm seeing NONE of her statuses about it. Had to follow her where I get notifications of any of her updates just to make sure I see them. So there's also a change people haven't seen it because it got drowned out by Facebook programming stupidity.

Besides, not everyone spends every waking minute on Facebook. Some only check in maybe once a week. Some people have busy lives. So you blame them for not clicking the little like button because they didn't happen to see the status because they have busy lives of their own?

    Again, yeah, that's petty.

    ReplyDelete
  138. All 3 of those retirements came about from injuries, not a desire to step away. Foley spent most, if not all of those 4 years still working on-screen for WWE. Shawn was supposed to come back sooner than 2002, but his drug problem kept him sidelined.

Interesting examples, but none that really match the circumstances.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  140. The sad thing is, the whole point of NXT is to call them up to the roster. Yet in most cases, that seems to be a death sentence, anyway. Ever since NXT became bigger and more popular, it seems like almost anyone called up has been shuffled off to the side or not written the same way that made them great in NXT.

  149. I look at NXT more of learning the WWE style. Adam Rose's gimmck didn't translate well on his callup. Bray Wyatt did, but he is kinda juiced in being related to guys that made the company money decades ago. But you know it's a whole new ballgame when you're on the main roster.

  150. I was given the option of working today and I declined, even though there is a ton of work that would justify me being there. I already spend over a third of my life at work. The weekend is the only break I get.

  151. aLOL at that City result.

  152. Ehhh, I think Rose was maybe called up way too early, for one. Didn't give him or the NXT writers long enough to figure out what works with t he gimmick and what doesn't.

I've been thinking about content for a Roku channel. Everybody and their mother has done B-movie horror/sci-fi and public domain films. What type of content out there has not been tapped?

    ReplyDelete
  155. Yep. At one point i was working overnight (4:30pm-3am) So I tried to get the weekends off as much as i can

    ReplyDelete
  156. Good point. There has to be some connect between the two creatives to make the determination before putting someone live with a half assed gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Sort of not surprised, but what happened?

  158. Damn, what am I gonna do now? He upvoted me all the time!!!!!! :'(
