Racist Hulk Hogan promo

I'm a little surprised that someone A). Decided to give him those lines, and B). Decided to let this go to air.

Well there you go, you can add "being a racist" to "holding people back" and "refusing to do jobs" on Hogan's list of career accomplishments now.

  1. "And after we take Lex Lugar and The Giant, we want the gold sucka. Hulk Hogan! We comin' for you, Brown Clown."

  2. Don Muraco once called Tony Atlas "A monkey who thinks he's funky".

Early 80s WWF promos, especially when advertising for the house shows, were just filled with racial slams. Easy way to get heat and a potential riot at the show.

  3. There going to say things like, "why's that blackie on our team" and "I don't want to play with blackie" or "I'm not passing the ball to blackie" or....

  4. The Hogan hate is strong in this one....

  5. At least Atlas won the feud and pinned Hogan clean. Booker T lost clean after laying on the mat for 20 minutes...

  6. Yeah most heels in that era used racial insults against an ethnic baby face as cheap heat. It usually lead to an ass kicking for the heel.

  7. And he managed to get all three of those career accomplishments in at Wrestlemania IX! Well actually I guess he kinda jobbed to Money Inc but I'm kinda surprised the "I'm gonna challenge you or that Jap brutha" promo isn't more infamous.

  8. That's nothing compared to some of the stuff Roddy Piper said during his 80s heel run.

  9. Oh please, he said "boy" and "brown clown" ... its nothing to get excited about. There are legit Rascist comments from wrestlers to hear (and every other form of entertainment )

  10. It was a different time. We were at war with Japan and Germany so what seems extremely racist now was okay for the standards of those ti...

Oh wait, this isn't about racist 1940s warner bros cartoons. Never mind.

  11. Piper offended everyone and then would make slight homosexual comments about him and Orton to make sure no one cheered for him. Truly a heel's heel.

  12. Idk. Am reserving judgment until T-Princess and The Fuj chime in with their two cents before I declare this racist. Seems like a gray area honestly. Need their insight to make sure

  13. Scott,
Hating Hogan won't change what happened with Benoit.

  14. If you're looking to burnish the "wrestling is hella racist" argument, this is small potatoes.

Roddy Piper went out in front of 60,000 people on one of the biggest PPVs ever to fight a black wrestler with exactly half of his body covered in grease paint. And got cheered!

  15. Wasn't Atlas one of the only people to pin Hogan clean around this time? It was Atlas, Andre, and Warrior who were only guys who beat Hogan clean for forever.

After Warrior, when is next clean job? I'm sure im missing some but off the top of my head is it Luger? Did Giant beat him clean?

  16. I think the more disturbing part was watching Vince literally fall in love with Tony's body.

  17. What was so racist about this? So sick of internet posters thinking they are the morality police.

  18. Genuinely laughed aloud at this.

  19. Dafuq happened to that comment?

  20. Vince has to be bisexual. Has to be. Only to jacked up bodybuilders tho. Not that there's anything wrong with that lol

  21. It was a dumb attempt at comedy. He wasn't being mean about it; he was trying to say he encompassed the black and white race. Like the cookie! Look to the cookie elaine!

  22. Brown clown made me laugh tho

  23. I want to say it was Luger, and he did some clean jobs in 2002 to Rock, Triple H, Angle, and Lesnar, he put Lesnar over HUGE
