  1. Wow; don't think I've ever had the chance to post first. So, um- how's Essa Rios?

    ReplyDelete
  2. If the Cesaro push was done right last year and he got tired of living in the shadow of Brock/playing 2nd fiddle with Heyman, would you be pumped for a Brock/Cesaro main event at Mania?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Jeff Jarrett. Enough fucking teasing dude!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Never in a million years would Vince McMahon let Cesaro be a WrestleMania headliner, let alone WWE champion.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I hope Reigns doesn't try to snatch Conan's mug or something.

    ReplyDelete
  6. BoD Mania should have a tug of war match. Book it Bayless!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I think Vince's plans for a Batista vs. Orton main event at Mania 30 revealed that he was going senile.

I think Vince sticking to a Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns main event at Mania 31 reveals that he IS senile.

  9. Just think about what next year will have in store for us....

    ReplyDelete
  10. Sufferin' Succotash, Conan!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Imagine Cesaro with a 6-8 month run as US/IC champ after Mania last year. Eventually he drops the belt and Heyman was busy with Brock so he finally explodes. Could be a great match and angle. Not sure if Cesaro can be a #1 guy but the build was available

    ReplyDelete
  12. Reigns vs Cena, where the crowd boos both wrestlers!

  13. Fat, Ugly Inner-City SweathogMarch 24, 2015 at 7:48 AM

Samoa Joe as a challenger to Reigns, despite WWE fans not knowing him. I bet they play it up like he is Reigns cousin too

    ReplyDelete
  14. Only way it works is if Brock beats Reigns to a bloody pulp and he Reigns either gets a fluke win or passes out

    ReplyDelete
  15. They'll just be having fun, Maggle.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Way to make your new champ look strong though

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wish they did Orton vs Lesnar

    ReplyDelete
  18. JBL: "Which one is Reigns? I can't tell 'em apart, Maggle!"
Booker: "Are you saying all Samoans look the same?"

    ReplyDelete
  19. Nash, Hogan, Sting, now Samoa Joe - TNA INVASION IS ON

Waking up at work, hurray for special sections!

    ReplyDelete
  24. That really will be a big test for Reigns. If he can't come across well on those kind of TV shows, that's really going to hurt his star power.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Plenty of time for that when Lesnar retains

    ReplyDelete
  26. That brings up the point Meltzer said in his epic piece - you wouldn't know if he could be a top guy, but you'd at least try.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I can't believe how poorly they ended RAW last night. How the hell was that supposed to make Reigns look like a main event guy?

I liked the HHH/Sting and Cena/Rusev stuff but that was garbage. And Snoop/Hogan/Axel was a great segment too. That was super fun. But how they ended the show was crap.

    ReplyDelete
  28. ღαґ√ ḉґεṧтøMarch 24, 2015 at 7:55 AM

It was definitely a scene where you expect their dad to come out of the bedroom, break the belt so they stop fighting over it, then send them to their rooms for the rest of the night.

  30. 'OK guys, what we want you to do is go out there and have a tug o' war with the Championship Belt, then 3,2,1 and we're OUT'

    ReplyDelete
  31. You mean you'd rather your two stars have a pull-apart with refs rather than a tug of war? You mean a brawl at the end would have been better than playing 2nd grade recess games or games during company outings?

    ReplyDelete
  32. "Tell me you didn't just say THAT!"

    ReplyDelete
  33. 31 predictions: Usos win the tag titles, Sheamus wins the battle royal, Bellas win, Sting wins, Bryan wins, Cena wins, Wyatt wins, Orton wins, Reigns wins, Rollins cashes in and wins the title.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Throw that in too.

    ReplyDelete
  35. "How the hell was that supposed to make Reigns look like a main event guy?"

You can apply this question to 90% of what they've done with Reigns since his return from injury.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sufferin' succotash son you are right about that.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Rollins cashing in is a scenario I'm negotiating as a solid finish. Anything but babyface Reigns standing tall is okay with me.

    ReplyDelete
  38. And he looks like a chump. And they took away the best thing about his character for no apparent reason.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm really kind of stunned Vince doesn't "get" Cesaro. You'd think a freakishly strong dude that can spin full size human beings on his shoulders, hands-free, would be right up Vince's alley.

    ReplyDelete
  40. No way are they jobbing Reigns to Rollins on the same night

    ReplyDelete
  41. BoD RAW will be up later today for those who care.

    ReplyDelete
  42. GROUP TITLE HUG

    EVERYBODY GET IN HERE

    NO NOT YOU CESARO

    EVERYBODY ELSE GET IN HERE

    ReplyDelete
  43. Plus the swing was a money move. Now, it gets an okay pop.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Could it have been done? Of course. But just because it COULD be done doesn't mean Vince would've done it. He doesn't "get" Cesaro. Therefore Cesaro isn't going to headline WrestleMania or become WWE champ.

I'm just dealing in realism here.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh, I think they just may, but I don't see it closing the show.

    ReplyDelete
  46. So Sting-HHH closes? Or Cena-Rusev?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well, sure, but it's obvious that pops don't matter to Vince as much as what he personally pops for.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Why not? Nothing would be able to follow it if it happened.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think it's hilarious that the most deadly finisher in the company right now is the Rack Attack.

    ReplyDelete
  50. See, that's the problem. I have no idea what closes the show, because I don't see Sting standing tall to end it, Cena is anti-climactic as fuck, but do you have your new babyface champion getting Batista'd as you go off the air?

It's one of many corners they put themselves in this year.

    ReplyDelete
  51. WWE is always doing things halfassed. I could totally see them hedging their bets by having Reigns beat Lesnar but put the title on someone else.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Traditionally, WM doesn't end with a heel standing tall.

    ReplyDelete
  53. And while he's not a great talker, neither is Reigns. And while he doesn't have great hair, neither did Austin, Hogan, or Rock, his three biggest stars.

So yeah, don't know what Vince doesn't get.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Exactly, it seems like we either get a "that was the main event?" moment or a copy of Mania 2000 with Rollins standing tall.

    ReplyDelete
  55. They've tried to hard with Reigns to end WM like that, for me if they were smart they'd have Brock pulp him so he gets some respect when he wins but it also wouldn't surprise me that Brock gets the duke. The Rollins stuff is the one thing I don't think they'll do

    ReplyDelete
  60. If there is a God, then Triumph The Insult Comic Dog will interrupt Roman's interview on Conan tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I don't get Vince's obsession with wrestlers with long, luxurious hair.

His three biggest stars -- Hogan, Austin, and Rock -- all have baldness issues.

    ReplyDelete
  62. He can dance with Dean.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Misread that as tittie matches.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Dancing and calf muscles.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I can only imagine Vince hates Europeans unless they're Irish because of his dad. You'd figure Antoni O'Cesaro would work...

    ReplyDelete
  66. Might as well be that.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Biff Kensington Has a PosseMarch 24, 2015 at 8:10 AM

An ESPN documentary on NXT sounds like it would be awesome, albeit a bit strange. I really hope Vince recognizes what he has and leaves NXT alone.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Biff Kensington Has a PosseMarch 24, 2015 at 8:11 AM

Cena isn't exactly rocking a mane either, nor Randy Orton or Batista. Strangely though, some of the worst drawing champions all had full heads of hair.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I wasn't watching too intently, but Raw was okay overall. The end with Lesnar and Reigns grabbing at the belt was really dumb only overshadowed by the 6 wrestlers climbing the ladder and throwing each other off when there was no match.

    ReplyDelete
  70. It would be dumb to Tommy Dreamer Reigns, but at this point it may just be their best option considering how poorly thought out this whole angle has been.

    ReplyDelete
  71. TEAM CHALLENGE SERIES!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Fat chance, especially if NXT keeps getting more positive coverage than RAW and keeps selling out shows.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Biff Kensington Has a PosseMarch 24, 2015 at 8:13 AM

The torture rack looked badass back in the day. It's s shame its spiritual descendant found its way to a worse wrestler than Lex.

    ReplyDelete
  74. All I know is that I find every single participant of the Diva's match at Mania attractive.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I can't wait to find out what his NXT name will be

    ReplyDelete
  76. Biff Kensington Has a PosseMarch 24, 2015 at 8:14 AM

What is more likely: Vince takes NXT and tries to make it more like Raw? Or Vince sabotages it and lets it die?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Even two of the "best" long-haired champs: Shawn and Bret had some hair issues. Shawn lost a good amount of hair on the front from Bret pulling it out (or it just receding, take your pick) and Bret's hair was just gross with the Exxon Valdez oil slick in it.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Does more damage to her knees than her opponent

    ReplyDelete
  79. So should I actually go to Wrestlemania next year considering I've stopped watching the product pretty much completely but I've never been to a big show of any kind, much less a Wrestlemania?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Make it more like Raw, which sabotages it and kills it off?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Brock Lesnar has a crewcut.
    Black Lesnar was bald/shaved.

Punk and Bryan on the other hand...

    ReplyDelete
  82. Even the way he won the Rumble wasnt exactly career making.

    ReplyDelete
  83. And neither Michaels or Hart were huge draws, especially compared to the Bald Trinity.

    ReplyDelete
  84. The latter option. Remember how he really weakened Smackdown! when it was outdrawing RAW in 2002 or so? The dude doesn't understand how internal competition is not the same as external competition.

I'd argue Vince has already been sabotaging NXT when you look at acts like Bo Dallas.

    ReplyDelete
  85. In fairness, the first Wrestlemania had Hogan fight Piper in a title match a month before to set up the tag match main event..

    ReplyDelete
  86. I've been to two manias and it's so fun. There's so much wrestling related stuff to do all weekend. I highly recommend it. I'm going this weekend and can't wait.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Women don't count.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah, the WWE random name generator should be fun.

Funny profile name. I remember seeing Vader squash Randy Hogan in 1993 or so and Jesse Ventura saying stuff like "Hogan is a lot smaller than I remember, Tony!"

    ReplyDelete
  89. Going to a Wrestlemania is always worth it as far as spectacle, but this year's version is shaping up to be one of the worst so I wouldn't spend a ton on the ticket(s). Fan Axxess is more fun IMO though.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I can't imagine it being a bad weekend. Go for the story if nothing else. Unless it's a travel ballache or too much money.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Mick Foley tweeted will be inducting Kevin Nash: https://twitter.com/realmickfoley/status/580244461969485824

That... seems like an odd choice.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Biff Kensington Has a PosseMarch 24, 2015 at 8:17 AM

Diesel was the shits, and HBK wasn't much better in 1996. I don't recall the Undertaker doing great business in 1997; he was overshadowed for much of his reign by the Hart Foundation. Triple H had some dog years as WHC.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I think reigns should win the belt on Sunday, then Rollins runs out to cash in. Reigns snatches the briefcase from his hands then we end wrestlemania with a mitb tug of war.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I was at the barber shop this weekend and some dude kept talking about how his son was all obsessed with Paige.

    ReplyDelete

  96. Cena vs Orton,one more timeMarch 24, 2015 at 8:18 AM

Gotta make up for that refereeing blunder at Bad Blood 2003 somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Lol, true, but I'm sure that those three all worshipped Bret ;)

    ReplyDelete
  98. I loved that part of Luger's WCW run in 1997 when he Torture Racked everything in sight, including the big guys.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Traditionally, people give a shit about the face in the main event.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Well, I don't blame him.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Very weird choice. I'd expect hbk or hhh.

    ReplyDelete
  102. What the hell?!?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  103. It's funny how every time WWE gets a Diva with a unique look - AJ, Paige, and Lana for example -- they're much more over with fans than the typical Kelly Kelly-like models.

    You'd think they'd learn.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Even Magic Johnson would be a better choice!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Yeah I was thinking about bringing those up, but didn't.

Warrior had tons of hair too.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I'm still convinced that Hulk Hogan has no idea who Bret Hart is.

    ReplyDelete
  107. That would also apply to Lita in the early 2000s.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Kelly Kelly might be the least over diva ever that they tried pushing as the face of Division. Did anyone want her beating Beth?

    ReplyDelete
  109. My dad was at your barber shop?

    ReplyDelete
  110. See ya there maybe

    ReplyDelete
  111. With a tear in his eyes, Austin confessed to Bret that Bret's hair could work a 5 star match better than Austin's now shaved blond tresses.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I guarantee everyone here will shit bricks if the WWE makes a Samoan Four Horsemen the night after Wrestlemania with Reigns, Samoa Joe and the Uso's.

    ReplyDelete
  113. That is so strange. Why not HBK, Hunter, Hall, Austin, Hogan, or some ring rat? Did Foley and Nash ever wrestle each other? I guess there's some odd Vinnie Vegas vs. Cactus Jack match out there somewhere, but...okay. It really should be Reigns inducting him with Nash passing the worst drawing WWE champ of all time title on to Roman.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Cena vs Orton,one more timeMarch 24, 2015 at 8:21 AM

    And Chyna before her.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I hated the Kelly Kelly push. She had that fake smile and Lawler kept gawking at her in a creepy way.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Hitman had great hair!

    ReplyDelete
  117. With tears in his eyes, Austin confessed to Bret that he shaved his head knowing that his hair would always be a 4/10 compared to Bret's.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I still mark out a bit watching old footage of Chyna just beating the tar out of some of the superstars. It was just so unique at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  119. If Raw truly wants to be episodic, they should start having Raw pick up exactly where the previous one left off, and open Monday night with Lesnar and Reigns still tugging on the belt.

    ReplyDelete
  120. There was that weird bitter Bundy interview recently where you could tell he still viewed Shawn Michaels as some skinny guy from the Rockers. Bret is probably still a prelim tag guy to Hogan

    ReplyDelete
  121. If motor oil is your thing, sure.

And Hart isn't even closer to Hogan-Austin-Rock on the drawing scale.

    ReplyDelete
  122. It was obnoxious. For as much as I get annoyed with the Divas division today, it's Trish and Lita compared to 2011.

    ReplyDelete
  123. That would be such a train wreck, but I'd watch more often, at least the beginning and ending, just to get more laughs.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Well that would actually be somewhat unique and interesting. But what will really happen is the Authority will come out and make mean faces and send Kane and Big Show after Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I don't even remember Foley mentioning Nash much in his books, so it's not like they were super-close backstage

    ReplyDelete
  126. I randomly came across a match between her vs Molly Holly and Ivory the other day and the pop she got was bigger than most main eventers get today.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Ha, it was sort of funny because the barbers had no idea what he was talking about. He was like "But I told my boy, those women are HIGH MAINTENANCE!"

    ReplyDelete
  128. Valid point, which is why I said they're kind of in a corner here. You generally don't end WM with a heel standing tall, but you also don't have any faces to end WM standing tall that will get the right reaction, a big enough reaction or won't be anti-climactic.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Only if it's managed by Rikishi and he says "We're doing this for the people!"

    ReplyDelete
  130. I still say Austin vs. Chyna at SummerSlam '99 would've done massive numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  131. That was the definition of a squash. Not sure he wrestled again after that, Vader beat the shit out of him!

    ReplyDelete
  132. "Bret Hart? The guy who wrestled in that tag match with Danny Davis while I was bodyslamming the 800 pound Andre the Giant?"

    ReplyDelete
  133. Do we even know if Nash will even make it to the HOF ceremony? He might pull his quad getting out of a jeep or something.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Once Reigns was the guy for sure, his already weak push turned into total limp fish.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Go back through the history of modern wrestling. Being bald or going bald seriously seems to be an advantage.

Verne Gagne, Hogan, Austin, Savage. King Kong Bundy and Earthquake even.

HBK wasn't God mode until he started balding.

Meanwhile, Nash and Hall couldn't move the needle in a big way until they got Hogan in there.

Bad hair seems to help a little as well.

    ReplyDelete
  136. "We're Making A Difference™"

    ReplyDelete
  137. Why does WWE keep booking these segments where wrestlers want to grab the title? It means NOTHING. Do they think we think that's how titles change hands?

    ReplyDelete
  138. Austin would've gone home before he did that match!

    ReplyDelete
  139. Someone must've seen the concept somewhere in a mainstream movie (not with a title but something else) and think it's an impressive plot device.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Probably, but I mean he would've gone over. Have Triple H help Chyna cheat to help Austin keep some of his heat of getting beat down at times by a woman.

    ReplyDelete
  141. "Stone Cold vs. the country of Chyna...you can't do that! She's woman!" - Vince

    ReplyDelete
  142. Vince Sr would have pushed Cesaro to the moon!

    ReplyDelete
  143. Nope and Nash has done about a zillion podcasts and shoots over the years and I can't remember him once mentioning Foley either. Maybe they can talk about how frugal they are with their money because they're among the only wrestlers I know of that have never had financial issues post wrestling.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I think we're all aware of that. Lying in the corner for 15 minutes doesn't exactly make you look like a tough guy.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Jim Duggan is currently the WWE European, Hardcore and Cruiserweight champion after finding all 3 belts in the trash

    ReplyDelete
  146. He's a machine now that he's got down to 225lbs. Lucha Jim.

    ReplyDelete
  147. While it is confusing, I'm all for it. Mick will probably do a good job with it and I'm a little burned out by clique appearances at these ceremonies.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Don't forget Women's Champion

    ReplyDelete
  149. Anyone else note that Hogan continued to pad the WrestleMania III attendance 28 years later? 93K was always the inflated number but it was really 94,000 jack

    ReplyDelete
  150. That's a hilarious point. It's like, do the Cleveland Browns gets to be Super Bowl champions if they sneak into Patriots HQ and steal the trophy?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Oh God if there was footage of Hogan running into Bret backstage at Mania with him calling him Stu followed by Bret saying Stu was his dad and Hogan responding, "Sorry, Owen" and walking off, that might be the funniest thing ever.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Only on-screen WWE interaction I remember with them was Foley reffing the Nash/HHH HIAC match.

    ReplyDelete
  153. .......how will they pull off Reigns not talking on Conan? Though I guess Conan is taped earlier in the day so maybe thy are letting the WWE production people edit it before it airs.

    ReplyDelete
  154. It's their way of trying to make titles seem important.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Yea..I was like oh come on we all know 93 is BS but you are now going to add another grand

    ReplyDelete
  156. And even that was one of those "ooookay...why is Foley here?" moments. Yeah, he's the HIAC guy, but it was still odd.

    ReplyDelete
  157. It's fucking dumb. Call your opponent a pussy whose ass is going to get kicked. Don't try and take it like a 4-year-old.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Foley did give him some advice when he was Vinnie Vegas - basic stuff about what a big man does and doesn't do.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Vince's mind = the title is sooo important everyone wants to get their hands on it!

    ReplyDelete
  160. Maybe Roman will try to dance before a commercial and be told to sit perfectly still

    ReplyDelete
  161. Should have been CM Punk.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I thought it looked pretty badass when Abyss and A-Train did it.

    ReplyDelete
  163. The funny thing is that in all other sports, most athletes won't touch the trophy if they haven't won it before because they consider it bad luck.

Of course, that's a moot point for the IC title since I'm pretty sure even I had a 2 day run with in back in '08.

    ReplyDelete
  164. In two years time it will be 100,000 fans, including the Rolling Stones and the Pope at ringside to see their records get broken. Paul McCartney sent a text congratulating him and he and Andre did a podcast with Roddy Piper afterwards that was aired on YouTube. The next day Hogan and Andre broke Google and it took them another 8 years to get the internet back up and working again.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Did the podcast happen before or after Andre died the next day after the slam?

    ReplyDelete
  166. Is this going to be so they can take more shots at WCW for the Fingerpoke?

    ReplyDelete
  167. I'm sure he will, it's just that Foley is probably not even in the top 20 of people I'd associate with Nash's career.

    ReplyDelete
  168. And Nash gave him advice on conditioner.

    ReplyDelete
  169. This would be gold.

    ReplyDelete
  170. He can send a text.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Moves are what big men don't do apparently.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I didn't say it was a GOOD way. It's just their way.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Sadly it happened during it.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Andre on a podcast is a funny thought.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Should be Jim Cornette so he can recap Nash's six moves.

  177. I'm surprised the WWE hasn't redubbed all the old footage with Cole, Lawler, and JBL and inserted hashtags.

  178. They probably would but then Vince would get pissed when hashtags from the 80s and Attitude Era are trending over #WWERomanEmpire

  179. Ambrose and Truth are the only 2 in the match to not of held it before and of course they did most of the stealing of it so yea.

  180. Well I guess HHH can only induct so many people..Hall is probably a bad idea..X-pac....bahahah. Hogan probably didn't want to do it...so they figured get a fan fave who is fun to listen too.

  181. They did some feud in TNA didn't they? Not sure it ever became a match. Nash didn't do too many matches

  182. I mostly watched the hulu version of raw...was there any mention of Sheamus?
or after weeks and weeks of Sheamus returns videos is he not even
    showing up at mania?

  183. I used to mark out when a babyface like Magnum TA would drop Ric Flair in some sort of confrontation, grab the NWA belt and either stare at it or hold it up before dropping it back on the champ. That works because it makes the title seem important, but also the babyface wants to win the belt not take it.

  184. I remember reading once that Hogan and Owen were actually on
really good terms with each other. Can’t remember where though.

  185. I think you're right -- wasn't Foley commish or something and he hated the Band or whatever nWo 4.0 was calling themselves? But does this even count since only WWE matters?

  186. I can't get mad at Hogan for doing it anymore. He's an old man.

    The Superdome/Silverdome.

  189. Could Bret put on a suit, for God's sake? Hogan even has his black bandana on.

  190. I wonder if Hogan was in his Stone Cold F.U.N.B. phase.
