BoD Daily Update

Brock Lesnar Update

Lesnar had in fact, up until a few days ago, spent the past few months training for a return to MMA. It was also reported by Dave Meltzer that Lesnar's wife, Sable and his close friends did not want him returning to professional fighting. It is also reported that a Lesnar babyface turn has been reportedly decided on since the first of the year.

  1. Hey, first comment. What a privilege.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Brock face turn huh? Maybe Heyman does turn on Lesnar and join Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Not wrestling related but tangentially related: The USA Original program Sirens has a kickass theme song.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Re: Balor. Totally ready. I fully expect them to fuck it up, but on the off-chance they don't, the guy should be a star. Balor vs Bryan for the IC title - oh yeah.

  5. "Ween" Dean AndrewsMarch 25, 2015 at 7:04 AM

He also had a short heel run in ECW shortly before it went from Eastern to Extreme, IIRC.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Brock should start using Shane McMahon's entrance music

    OMG check your privilege!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Is it Sleeping With Sirens my most favouritest band?!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Did they get more dates out of this?

I'll admit I was willing to go all in on Reigns for this match but just through his sheer awesomeness Brock has pretty much changed my mind. So yeah I'll get behind babyface Brock, ONLY if he doesn't change a damm thing about his character.

    ReplyDelete
  11. You just made this weird and I don't much like it and I'm leaving this website FOREVER!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I just don't tee that happening. Fans have notoriously short memories. If they're willing to chant THIS IS AWESOME at Sting and HHH the other night (when the buildup has been anything but), all Brock and Reigns have to do is put on a decent quality match and they'll be fine. It's not like Reigns is getting booed out of the building the way Big Dave was last year.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I really hope so, but Triple H's use of the word "attraction" as well as Vince's during his interview with Austin awhile back leads me to believe that we'll be seeing the same amount of Lesnar as they think seeing less of him is more.

    ReplyDelete

Question...does anyone on the blog know where on the network I can find that backstage special that they did for Wrestlemania 30 a few weeks ago?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Since re-signing Brock is ready to debut his new gimmick... Ladies Man Brock http://giant.gfycat.com/MeaslyPointedHind.gif

    ReplyDelete
  16. I hope they do something similar with the Wyatts for the Undertaker match to foreshadow The Shield reunion for the main event.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The WWE30 or whatever? Should be under Original.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm deeply sorry. We should implement an affirmative action approach to 'first comment' to ensure a fairer and more balanced blog.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It's less about him being ready and more about politics, or more accurately that he went to NXT was the political move. Balor was promised on signing that his stay in NXT would be short, but since HHH had made it known that anyone new coming in would go through NXT first, they've gone through the motions to cover them both. I'd suspect Samoa Joe will have a similar run, probably in and out of NXT before the year ends.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Brock made the right move. I would love to see him kick more ass in UFC but lets be honest he still is a dude missing some of his guts and spending a number of years away from the sport is not getting him any closer to the Caine/Dos Santos level. He probably could have taken out some mid level guys.....but he could have also got knocked out and left as the "over hyped rasslin guy" as now I think most level headed fans would say was a guy who came in like a storm got the belt and then got derailed by medical issues and is more of what might of been

    ReplyDelete
  21. YankeesHoganTripleHFanMarch 25, 2015 at 7:17 AM

Thanks. I'll see if I can find it after work tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  22. So now on Sunday Brock is the mountain and Reigns is the Red Viper right?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Worst thing for Brock. His promos are shit and he absolutely needs a mouthpiece.

    ReplyDelete
  24. you don't want brock doing looney tunes and poopy jokes?

    ReplyDelete
  25. It'd be nice if they could at least bump him up to like 6-7 matches a year from the current 3-4. It's a lot easier to hide the part time nature of his contract if he at least can work the big four shows plus 1-2 B shows and maybe a Raw main event if they have any big anniversaries or specials planned.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Where's this come from? I think that's likely, but also sensible. Although Balor may regret having a short NXT stay given how the majority of the graduates have faired.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Unless he's the silent asskicker Reigns should've been.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That would've been an interesting way to book Bryan/Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  29. If any of those idiots on creative tries to hand Brock a script, I hope he fucking eats it in front of them. Literally, I hope he actually tears it up and starts eating it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Austin has talked about this on his podcast ... Lesnar is THIS close to becoming the biggest babyface in the company. Turn Reigns and reform the Shield at WM w/ Heyman and it's done.

That's the way to salvage this mess.

    ReplyDelete
  31. But what about those heated Ambrose/Rollins matches?

I refuse to believe that two men would pretend to fight in a professional wrestling match.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's called google.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well, no, in the respect that Bryan is a highly skilled fighter, unlike Reigns.

    ReplyDelete
  34. WrestleMania finish....

Vince comes down to ringside. Reigns puts Lesnar in the Sharpshooter, and Vince tells the timekeeper to "RING THE BELL!". Reigns is the new Champion. HHH, Harper, Kane, Big Show, Rollins all come down and join Reigns in a big heel beatdown on Lesnar. End show.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Get ready for smiling Brock

    ReplyDelete
  36. You could do all his taped segments for the year in a day or two, and sprinkle those between the wrestling, but that would require Vince and Creative to actually have a plan.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Brock Lesnar drinks milk, doesn't take money for autographs, and hates smokers.

    ReplyDelete
  38. AverageJoeEverymanMarch 25, 2015 at 7:24 AM

Got my proxy voting material for WWE Board of Directors. I want to start a movement to have Roman Reigns voted in as a write in.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Can't wait to see Lesnar try to cut babyface promos.

    ReplyDelete
  40. We will see what happens..I'm going to hold out a little hope that IF brock wins....Bryan still seems the logical guy to eventually beat him. Unless they want to pull the trigger on someone like Ziggler or go crazy and put someone like Finn straight to the top.
If Cena, Orton, or any of those guys beat him it's a failure because after undertaker and shocking most people this sunday against Reigns (if it happens) who ever takes the belt is made for life and they should use it to either officially crown the people's champ, Bryan, or make a new top level guy.
Also I would argue against Rollins here because I don't think he needs it. Rollins is so close to that level beating a Cena and or Orton puts him on that level.

    ReplyDelete
  41. That could work. Then you can double turn Rollins who cashes in and there's Reigns first feud post wrestlemania.

    ReplyDelete
  42. He shouldn't he should stay the same just like Austin wasn't out there cutting baby face promos at the height of his run. Thought if they brought Angle back I'd be all for a return to Happy go Lucky Brock

    ReplyDelete
  43. Brock was getting a heroes welcome regardless in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It helps Brock a bit that Cain has seemingly been injured the whole time Brock's been away.

    BOOM. That's called hyperbole.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Great wrestling week, in addition to WM we have two title matches on LU, Owen vs Balor on NXT and Samoa Joe's first match in ROH angainst Kyle O'Riley

    ReplyDelete
  46. I would have liked to see him get his win back against Horse meat though.

    ReplyDelete
  47. With the way Overeem was slumping for a while Brock probably would have KO'd him standing.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I agree, WWE has a history of turning their best heels face - Savage, Michaels, Rock etc.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Watch 2003 SmackDown.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Watching Reigns on Conan........Conan looks like he could kick his ass.. and the hair hanging over the front of his suit makes him look like a goober

    ReplyDelete
  51. I know there have been many proponents on here of the 'Reigns wins, Rollins cashes-in' scenario, but I'm not certain who that benefits. It undermines the whole year of booking.
Rollins clean over Orton this Sunday would cement him as a top tier talent.

    ReplyDelete
  52. "Ween" Dean AndrewsMarch 25, 2015 at 7:34 AM

I suggest a blind choice round robin. And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.

    ReplyDelete
  53. He doesn't have to. Just show up and mow through people.

Goldberg wasn't over because people reminded him of Flair on the mic.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Is it an NXT special?

    ReplyDelete
  55. That's a damn crime that Angle isn't back.

    ReplyDelete
  56. "Wrestlemania ends with the Tri-Force Fistbump over the fallen Lesnar, who is now a super babyface and we reset things back to 2013 and try again not to fuck it up this time. "

Slight correction ... Paul Heyman walks into the ring and makes it four fists.

    ReplyDelete
  57. No it was recorded in the last tapping session, but from what i heard (i don't seek out spoilers) the match got a PPV treatment

    ReplyDelete
  58. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m91c2nUWgG1r92ldso1_400.gif

    ReplyDelete
  59. Reigns had a short segment but did..fair

    ReplyDelete
  60. Nice. No, I've avoided spoilers too, but I'm very much looking forward to it.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Did he tell any children's tales?

    ReplyDelete
  62. mostly about a woman aggressively grabbing his ass as he went through the crowd to the ring onces

    ReplyDelete
  63. "tapping session"? Can I get one of those with Layla?

    ReplyDelete
  64. But WWE has a history of turning heels face when fans cheer them, and then removing everything that made the fans cheer them when they were a heel.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Sorry if i wrote something strange, english is not my first language

    ReplyDelete
  66. If Reigns were to go over I'm for Rollins cashing in. It turns a disaster into the crowd losing their mind and going home happy...WWE could use focusing on sending the fans home happy more.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Angle will be back someday.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Oh man, Lesnar vs The Authority/Shield would be a huge Summer story. Have Lesnar/Bryan become reluctant allies and you're friggin' set.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I am stoked for Mania now. Brock has to win right?

    ReplyDelete
  70. It is utterly nonsensical though. Brock is at least a tweener. Just have Lesnar win because of a rookie Reigns mistake (e.g. spear countered into kimura).

    ReplyDelete
  71. you could throw Sting in there too ... have this HHH/Steph/Heyman/Shield Axis of Evil. All sorts of possibilities.

I would love a long Ambrose-Bryan feud over the IC Title, too.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Someone's first title reign being a 2 minute fuck up though, I know they did it with Bryan but I just don't know if they'd want to do it with Reigns

    ReplyDelete
  73. I don't trust the WWE to not create Smilin' Brock Lesnar who cuts promos on Regins where he says, "I tawt I taw a puddy tat."

    ReplyDelete
  74. I look forward to seeing Face Brock Lesnar in fresh, unique matchups against Mega Heels Triple H and Big Show

    ReplyDelete
  75. I knew Brock wasn't going back to the UFC. He just didn't have the stomach for it anymore..

    (Runs away)

    ReplyDelete
  76. I hope a Brock face turn doesn't go like his 2002 one - Heyman turns on him and he becomes a smiling good guy. I want him to do exactly what he does now, only to heels. And keep Heyman as part of the package.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Isn't it amazing how quickly we can our attitude about the product can change when someone you think should win...wins

    ReplyDelete
  78. Nature Boy Bill Goldberg would have been money. And as a Jew he would have been reaponsible with it.

    ReplyDelete
  79. A Shield reunion this early, and in a nonsensical way like this? Don't see it.

You can't put the genie back in the bottle and Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns are better off as they are now than as they were because all things have to end sometime. And while I'm sure there'll be a short Shield reunion one day (there is with pretty much all the major stables), doing it less than year after they broke apart would be an awful way of rushing it.

    ReplyDelete
  80. It was a smart move. He was getting destroyed by Carwin before Shane gassed out, and his fights with Cain and Overeem weren't even competitive. He closed his MMA gym a couple of years ago, and I doubt he's been developing new skills in the meantime.

    ReplyDelete
  81. .....where do Big Show and Kane fit in.....I'm not following

    ReplyDelete
  82. Was quite a good match, look forward to seeing how it comes off on tv.

    ReplyDelete
  83. His limited schedule should do his body well. Look at guys like Benoit who hung around too long.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I love the start of the 2nd Round of the Carwin fight where they're both battered and smiling at each other. So great.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Bobby Hennan mode: Owen Hart is wrestling again?

    ReplyDelete
  86. But whose side is he on?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Great moment, yeah. I'm a huge Brock fanboy, but in all objectivity there were several moments where the ref would have been justified in stopping that fight while Carwin was battering Brock.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Brock needs to grow his beard back. That was the manliest shit ever.

    ReplyDelete
  89. And Vince aggressively grabbing his ass in production meetings.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Man I hope so. But I'm not sure I trust them to do it right :(

    ReplyDelete
  91. Does Vince know any other sort of babyface apart from the smiling one?

"You're a good guy now, Kevin. Good guys smile!"

    ReplyDelete
  92. What the....no credit to HOSS for this idea yesterday?

    Damn Canadian thieves....

    ReplyDelete
  93. A Rollins cash-in for the win is what they need to do.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Given that most heels don't even really cheat that much anymore, they probably don't know how else to distinguish them

    ReplyDelete
  95. It sounds so good I just don't believe it could ever happen.

    ReplyDelete
  96. A Shield reunion would make Ambrose look like the jobbiest jobber who ever jobbed. He lost his feud with Rollins, and then comes crawling back to him?

Maybe it works if they just have Rollins and Reigns reunite, and tease whether or not Ambrose joins them. I don't know. If we're talking about having to have a huge swerve end WM just to salvage something watchable, someone fucked up.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Ambrose and Reigns are better off now?

As a half Carrot Top/half human cartoon and the third guy in a stable that doesn't exist anymore?

I mean, I think it's too soon myself, but the only guy who MAY be better off now is Rollins. Putting the Shield back together as heels with Rollins as the leader may not make a whole lot of sense, but there's not a whole lot of ways out of the corner they're in that do.

    ReplyDelete
  98. All he needs to do is start fighting heels instead of faces, no need to change anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I saw your idea last night. I'm not a fan of fantasy booking, either, but your idea was solid.

The only problem I see is a reunited Shield would be babyfaces no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  100. The great thing about this is it gives them a chance to rebuild Bryan vs Lesnar. After the summer long feud, essentially have Bryan come out and say that for fighting alongside Brock the whole time, he wants a shot at the gold that he never lost. They could even play with the face/heel dynamic like they did during Eddie/Batista back in '05. Would be a super fun feud and followup.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I misread that at first as Brock should start using Stephanie McMahon's entrance music. Now that would be a funny visual.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Rollins with Heyman would be AWESOME.

Hell, have Sting end the Authority and have Heyman create a new Dangerous Alliance with Rollins, Kidd and Cesaro and some other people as the new mega heel stable.

    ReplyDelete
  103. They have a best of seven for the US Title.

    ReplyDelete
  104. And it sets up Survivor Series. Shield/HHH vs Sting, Lesnar, Orton and Bryan. Stacked main.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Just rewatched highlights of the triple threat match from the Rumble. I just haven't seen anything from Reigns that convinces me he could hang with those 3 guys and deliver a match of that caliber. With Brock now re-signing, I think you have to have Rollins take the belt from Brock via briefcase cash-in, then have him hold it til SummerSlam, where Brock returns as a monster babyface. Obviously I won't complain if Brock simply retains the belt, but I'd understand them wanting to get the belt off him and back on TV; and the MitB briefcase has to be factored in. I'm good with the Shield reunion scenarios, but I don't think it'll happen. Worst scenario is the the one that's been planned all along: Reigns walks out as champion. Then we're stuck with a guy who's mediocre on the mic, and limited skills in the ring. Daniel Bryan carried him at Fastlane to a match that I felt was in the *** range. Same with his match last year against Orton. I can't get excited if future PPVs are headlined by matches that I know are going to top out in the *** to ***1/2 range. At best.

I'm happy with Brock as a special attraction (with or without belt) and if you ask me who should be The Guy right now, I say it's Seth Rollins.

    ReplyDelete
  106. So basically the idea is for the top babyface to be a guy that has four matches a year and doesn't cut promos? So he just shows up and stands there on raw like 8 weeks a year? Does he kick a hat every time?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Did you not watch the Royal Rumble two months ago?

    ReplyDelete
  108. ALSO... if there is a screwjob at Mania, then Sting can stick around for 1-2 more matches. He'd still be the Vigilante.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Party's over, Grandpa.

Not cool saying that in front of my wife and kids, man.

Sometimes I think Hogan just loves to boost his ego when he gets a TMZ camera in his face. I mean, really? Upset because Brock called you old? Sheesh.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Lesnar vs. Bryan
    Lesnar vs. Batista

I want to see those. I doubt I actually will get to see them though, even with Lesnar re-signing.

    ReplyDelete
  111. AverageJoeEverymanMarch 25, 2015 at 8:06 AM

yup, there are plenty of those episodes on the Network

    ReplyDelete
  112. You do realize that Hogan is "working" about 90% of the time, right?

Lesnar is a heel, Hogan is a face

    ReplyDelete
  113. All kinds of hats!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Hogan still has that old school carnie mentality - he still has no problem trying to work everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Ambrose as a psychopath works well, though. Just say Rollins and Reigns talked him into it. Or say Ambrose set this in motion months ago.

    ReplyDelete
  116. The Mexican hat he wore in his feud with Eddie in 2004? With a Mexican trumpet band?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Dance flamboyantly while an old Mexican man smiles behind you. The people will love it!

    ReplyDelete
  118. Brock Lesnar vs. Scott Steiner

The battle of the genetic freaks. First person to do something other than a suplex loses.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I don't know why he hasn't had it in WWE. Such an awesome look.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Whatever happened to that Benoit guy?

    ReplyDelete
  121. As a special attraction, I don't know that Brock needs to be heel or face. Let him be a neutral force of nature, akin to Godzilla, like he was at Royal Rumble. He comes in, he destroys everything, he leaves.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Funny that when Steiner did the same suplex over and over he was shit, but Lesnar doing is it amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Or shoulder strikes in the corner.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I have a hard team believing that a Shield reunion followed by a massive Brock beatdown followed by Rollins cashing in for the title would instantly turn Lesnar face. I'd wager that the crowd at WM would go completely batshit for the Shield reunion and shower them with baby face heat, like Austin at WM X-7. Still, it would be a good story line - in fact, if Rollins got the World title, and Ambrose got the Intercontinental title, then Reigns would be a perfect person to put over Rusev for the U.S. title to have gold around all their waists.

Won't happen, but it's not a bad idea.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Maybe it's because Lesnar is suplexing the hated Cena over and over, treating him like he's a wrestling buddy.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Huge difference: Steiner fucked up 75% of those suplexes and fell on his ass. Brock didn't and he looked dominant

    ReplyDelete
  127. Especially if Heyman is the manager -- then you have the "Heyman as svengali corrupting people's minds" deal to go with.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Anyone who gets lumped into the category of “guys like Benoit” is
probably not happy with that categorisation.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Balor was clearly ready for the big leagues from day one, so I'm not surprised that they are bringing him up sooner rather than later. My guess is we see Neville soon too since there's nothing left for him to do in NXT, and I also wouldn't be surprised if they bring up Charlotte and Sasha this year as well.

Other than that, I hope the keep the rest in NXT for awhile - if you call them all up at the same time, they'll get lost in the shuffle. Zayn still has the Owens feud to keep him busy and Itami is nowhere near ready.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Sheild reunion would help all 3 characters. They need to reunite the Wyatt Family as well.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Hogan working? You mean he didn't plan to turn heel in either 1991 or 1993 as he now says? I'm shocked and appalled. Not at Hogan lying, since he claimed in 2010-11 that Andre farted on him during the first slam/fall shot. But still, I'm shocked and appalled.

    ReplyDelete
  132. The fact that Brock doesn't talk much has allowed WWE to control the Brock narrative. They made it seem like he only cared about himself which is why fans booed him at WM XX.

He explained his position pretty well yesterday. He loves stepping in the ring but couldn't stand all the bullshit in the back so he left. After this D-Bryan stuff most fans see his point. I'm all for a full face turn but don't change his character. You know they will cause they can't help themselves. No need for Heyman to change either. They are fine as is.

    ReplyDelete
  133. God, I hope they give Balor a legit chance. He looks like such a can't-miss prospect.

    ReplyDelete
  134. He said he was going to turn heel on the Raw after Wrestlemania 6. That is just his greatest.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I bet Breeze moves up sometime this year as well.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Maybe JBL can laugh at his "stupid" entrance and then they job him out to fandango a few times

    ReplyDelete
  137. Johnny Benoit? He opened up a flapjack shop down there on tenth street. Makes great biscuits.

    ReplyDelete
  138. At this point I like the idea of a top guy I don't have to see twice a week, 52 weeks a year. More Lesnar would be nice, but it already beats having to see everyone else a hundred times. With as many people as they have under contract, they should be rotating more guys in and out every few months--even top ones.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I do not understand why Hulk Hogan is the only wrestler people rip on for "working" during interviews. Every wrestler does it. Look at all the "shoot" interviews where wrestlers claim they were going to get a run with the world title or something equally stupid.

Nobody complains when Tito Santana says he was going to get a run with the title. Everybody whines when Hogan adds an extra 100 pounds to Andre.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Brock could get that over. So could Kane. He did great in that Men's Wharehouse promo with Big Show.

    ReplyDelete
  141. "What's he wearing all that paint for, Maggle? He looks like Doink the Clown!"

    ReplyDelete
  142. If you look at the reputation Daniel Bryan came in with and how they made him Miz's bitch, a "nerd" (hehe), put him in these diva love triangles and how heatless he was before catching fire...yikes.

I still think Balor will be rapping with R-Truth eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  143. It's because Hogan is always so hilariously transparent. Most of what he says is instantly fact-checkable because of his high profile, and is easily proven false.

    ReplyDelete
  144. He's a blue chipper!

    ReplyDelete
  145. Not really. Most of us find Hogan entertaining and realize he's just joking/working

    ReplyDelete
  146. "Fact-checking" and "pro wrestling" are two concepts that should never really cross paths.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Most likely, but my guess is he becomes another Adam Rose.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Fiction and reality may blur, but I know there was no Monday Night Raw in 1990.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Lesnar is already gonna be a massive babyface at that show and RAW. People have been looking for an excuse to boo Reigns and the Shield 2.0 (hell, you could even put a Kevin Owens in there instead of Rollins if you needed to) doing an extended and cowardly beatdown of monster Brock would get over, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I think they honestly believe that. Wrestlers tend not to be the brightest bunch.

    ReplyDelete
  151. But Steiner was suplexing the hated HHH.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Yeah, I was being facetious.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I think the Shield getting back together only works if Ambrose does it begrudgingly.

Ambrose being driven even more insane by feeling like the right thing is helping Rollins instead of hindering him could make some money. I can imagine Rollins promising Ambrose a shot at the title and revenge if he helps them get rid of Lesnar.

If that were to happen, I'd love Mania to end with an absolutely destroyed Brock trying to crawl towards them and screaming about killing them.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Yeah, well...actually, shit. That'd be great.

It'd unfuck all the damage they've done with Ambrose and Reigns and maintain Rollins as a big-shot heel. And it'd give them a legit badass face to chase the title/Shield/get sweet, sweet revenga!

    ReplyDelete
  155. exactly... now what I would do is have Rusev go over Cena at mania and put him over as a legit superstar...then bring Balor in and have him go over Rusev.

  156. Here is Brock's babyface enterance the night after Wrestlemania -- http://youtu.be/hqOQwRv2tI4.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I don't think the negative reaction would have been there for Brock this time. At WM20, Brock had been a full-timer who suddenly decided he was going into the NFL, which seemed to wrestling fans like a bizarre career choice to make, like a betrayal. Far fewer people would have been upset if he'd chosen to go back to MMA where he's a proven success. The WWE also wasn't seen by many fans as a heel promotion in 2005, either.

Based on the response at RAW Lesnar WILL be a babyface.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Or this hat:

    ReplyDelete
  162. Is NXT "paying your dues"? Or is it like a sub-level and you still have to pay your dues once your called up? It seems easier just to be hhh's friend.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Until falling out with Albano in '83, Snuka probably spent more time as a heel than a babyface in his career.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Unfortunately it sucked all the testosterone out of the arena and turned every other male into a quivering woman. It was literally dangerous to the human race for Brock continue having that beard.

    ReplyDelete
  165. No need to involve the Lord's name in vain over Brock Lesner dancing in a Mexican hat.

  166. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonMarch 25, 2015 at 8:24 AM

Didn't they do the same with Andre the Giant?

    ReplyDelete
  167. I hope not. Not to say he'll be a star, but he's so much more talented than Adam Rose. Wish there were a cruiserweight title these days.

    ReplyDelete
  168. And then he comes out to this:

    http://youtu.be/MKD3B7WKFYY

    ReplyDelete
  169. Holy shit.

I've never seen that before in my life and now I can't unsee it.

What the hell were they thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Balor is more of a "HHH guy" than Bryan, isn't he? As long as Balor goes along with the WWE Approved narrative that HHH discovered Balor and sent him to NXT to learn how to work, he could be allowed to be a star.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Charismatic eNegro Jef VinsonMarch 25, 2015 at 8:24 AM

I think being IC Champ is paying your dues.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Thats a sombrero. C'mon man, everyone knows that!

    ReplyDelete
  173. They should get the Wyatt's together again and add them too. Shield/Authority/Wyatt's as a super stable? Automatically that's a mega stacked heat machine for faces to go up against.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Lesnar has a huge buzz going right now he really needs to go over. A big ol Reigns heel turn and Shield reunion being the one exception.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I keep hearing the Shield reunion but how would that work with Rollins having the MiTB Briefcase.

    ReplyDelete
  176. There is some talk of putting Breeze in a tag with Bo Dallas - could be a good move.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Adam Rose is basically Van Hammer - very limited wrestler with the gimmick of rock star, despite not being able to play any instruments. Even Honky Tonk Man legit sang his own stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  178. Yeah, that's just stupid and I'll give you that. But there's nothing wrong for Hogan (a face) to be expressing anger at Lesnar (a heel) for interrupting his on-screen birthday celebration. The whole point of the interruption was to be disrespectful. Hogan's just going with it.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Well, you spend 20+ years being dropped on your head and you'll have a few screws loose too.

    ReplyDelete
  180. In context - Brock was a heel - feuding with Eddie Gurrero - but in 2015 - this is Brock's babyface turn.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Agreed.

Ever since, say, late 2013, the company itself is seen by many fans as having nothing but contempt for its own audience. Brock in 2004 was looked as an ungrateful traitor for leaving, while Punk in 2014 is looked at as a hero that stood up for himself.

  182. AverageJoeEverymanMarch 25, 2015 at 8:28 AM

Not good for branding. Too many people confused him with Eric Young.

    ReplyDelete
  183. How is Bryan not an "HHH guy"? Hunter put him over clean as a sheet at WrestleMania 30. If Hunter didn't like him that wouldn't have happened.

    ReplyDelete

  185. Read Scott's take:

    Makes sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Reigns can't beat Lesnar, so he helps Rollins cash in on him after the match. Rollins meanwhile helps Ambrose win the IC title.

    ReplyDelete
  187. The Love-Matic Grampa!March 25, 2015 at 8:29 AM

Dean is crazy. That's all the explanation needed. He took a beating for the team and probably liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Canadians making fun of uk words is funny.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Well he wasn't brought in by HHH as a can't miss guy and hyped while he was in development like HHH has done for Balor since the day he signed.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Zoolander 2? Vince will probably just be getting around to seeing the first one at that point.

    ReplyDelete
  191. I really wish someone hasn't mentioned Brock Lesnar and hats in this thread because I can't get this out of my head now http://youtu.be/MKD3B7WKFYY.

And for the sake of my sanity, this will be my last attempt at getting people to comment.

    ReplyDelete
  192. If there was EVER a moment to say Jesus Christ, it's this moment.

    ReplyDelete
  193. Hunter wasn't in that position when Bryan came in, so it's hard to compare them.

Regardless, Triple H doesn't run RAW. He could be Hunter's buddy and if Vince doesn't "get" him, he'll end up like Cesaro.

    ReplyDelete
  194. Lifting and driving someone onto their head > low-elevation back body drop.

Also, Steiner was clearly barely able to stand.

    ReplyDelete
  195. Admit it. You didnt know what it was.

  196. You still gotta pay dues after making the main roster.
