Backstage News on Why AJ Lee's Tweets to Stephanie McMahon Will Not Be Used in Storyline

The word backstage is that Stephanie will not involve herself with AJ's feud because the Authority is involved in the main TV feuds and likely will not get involved with storylines that are so low on the card.

WWE Bringing in More Veterans to Work in NXT

The company is going to bring in more veteran workers that are still in shape and can go in the ring, like Rhyno and Brian Kendrick, and have them work exclusively in NXT to give guys experience.

  1. Stephanie should be the one low on the card. Or not on the card at all.

  2. "The company is going to bring in more veteran workers that are still in shape and can go in the ring, like Rhyno and Brian Kendrick, and have them work exclusively in NXT to give guys experience."

I'd bet money this is why they're bringing in Joe.

  3. When we hang out after the Fozzy gig tomorrow night I'll ask Jericho what the trip is and let y'all know

  4. Shawn Michaels putting white cream in Sunny's face...they could've just stuck a camera in the locker room for that.

    Hilarious.

    Ah, never change Steph.

    They're not in her league.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The NXT article makes sense. Let these guys get an actual rub going over a veteran, rather than the so called rub of having someone like Taker or HHH go over them.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Any context to that one?

    ReplyDelete
  12. "Stephanie will not involve herself with AJ's feud because the Authority is involved in the main TV feuds and likely will not get involved with storylines that are so low on the card." -- thus proving her point.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That's quite the self-fulfilling prophecy.

    ReplyDelete
  14. They laid out a birthday cake for Shawn Michaels, Sunny tried to shove it in Shawn's face, but then Ahmed Johnson cornered her and Shawn Michaels stuck it in her face instead.

I was just thinking about this last night, but with the Kendrick and Rhyno coming to NXT, they should hold some sort of NXT Rumble one day filled with nothing but unused main roster talents and former employees of the company for a shot at an NXT contract. It could be very fun, unpredictable, and a nice little comeback for some former guys.

  17. Hogan gets booed on his debut, so great

    ReplyDelete
  18. Devils Advocate.
The best way to get AJ over as a person rather than just CM Punk's wife is not to have her in a storyline involving HHH or HHH's wife.

    ReplyDelete
  19. They are only involved in main feuds. Lucky us.

    ReplyDelete
  20. They boo him when he steps out of the limo. It's hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The best way to get anyone over is not to have them in a storyline involving HHH or Stephanie.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah, nobody would ever boo the face these days.

    WWE Logic 101.

    ReplyDelete
  28. AJ is plenty over as herself. Check her Twitter sometime. People just chant CM Punk at her because they're fucking dorks who are looking to get themselves "over" and/or "stick it" to the WWE.

Well, the McMahons are master trolls.

    ReplyDelete
  34. How is Sid doing these days? I bet he could show those guys in nXt how to cut promos.

    ReplyDelete
  35. He did #GiveDivasAChance but they all said "no I don't want to fuck a geriatric" and he got all pissed off.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I didn't. I know he doesn't view the Divas as nothing more than a piss break before the real matches on the card.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Farooq's character is a hard-nosed street fighter...yet his gimmick is the "Gladiator" and he wears a tinfoil hat. Okay then.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's less that going over Rhyno gives them a rub and more that working with a veteran allows them to learn more out of their time in the ring than working with another redass rookie would.

    ReplyDelete
  43. This. It cost Vince nothing to have whoever runs his Twitter pay the hashtag lip service in one tweet. It means nothing, too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Her return on Raw had fans chanting CM Punk at her, despite him having nothing to do with her current storyline.
For a group of fans, AJ means nothing by herself she is just a conduit for CM Punk fandom.

  48. It was just so rare back then, especially with Hogan debuting. Bischoff did not understand rasslin'. The worst thing Verne ever did was give Bischoff a foot in the door.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I recently discovered the PTB Nation rebooking of old Wrestlemanias. The vast majority of early Wrestlemanias can't really be rebooked without huge fantasy booking, however WM8 is the exception as the entire show seemed to ignore the storylines running up to the show.

So here's my (in no way requested) preferred version of the show

    WWF Title Match
Hulk Hogan Vs Ric Flair (c)
    -The title match everyone wants.

    Leather Strap Match
    Randy Savage vs Jake Roberts
-The big blowoff brawl and with the Strap match, Jake Roberts can't escape.

    Tag Title Match
Bret Hart & British Bulldog Vs Money inc (c)
Two of the best tag team competitors team up to show Dibiase, not everyone can be bought.

    Intercontinental Title Match
Shawn Michaels vs Roddy Piper (c)
-The Heartbreak Kids single push begins in earnest with a classic against a legend

    The Undertaker Vs Papa Shango
-Taker kicks off the streak by facing off against a fellow supernatural entity

    Nightstick Match
The Big Boss Man vs Repo Man
    - After Repo man's crime wave goes to far after he tries to repo the Boss Man's nightstick.

    Sid Vs Virgil
    - 2 Minute squash to put over Sid

    10 Man Tag Team Match
Tatanka, Sgt Slaughter, Jim Duggan & The Natural Disasters vs The Mountie, The Nasty Boys, Berzerker & Skinner
    - Get everyone on the card match

    Owen Hart vs Rick Martel
    - Undercard workrate match

    ReplyDelete
  53. Did you actually read what you replied to?

    ReplyDelete
  54. To be fair, why would #1 heel Big Steph ever sully herself with women's wrestlers, who could actually *do something* when she runs her mouth? That would be a heel getting an ass kicking!

    ReplyDelete
  56. It's not that they're beneath her, it's just that they realize that they would be better served by an actual woman being involved, as opposed to Stephanie

    ReplyDelete
  57. Steph does have to keep them in line occasionally, though. Stand tall over them for no reason and completely belittle their character. Like Lana learned a few months ago. How dare you get over.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I posted mine a few days ago. I'd do a Shawn/Marty blowoff, and have the New Foundation take on Money Inc (which was actually advertised in WWF magazine).

    And leave Bret/Piper.

    Shawn vs Marty
    LOD vs Money Inc

    ReplyDelete
  65. I wonder if Virgil is setting up his "Wrestling Superstar" table outside of full sail in hopes that they'll give him one of the veteran of the week matches

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yes and my argument remains the same, no matter how you try and dress it, she is still getting CM Punk chants because for a group of fans, she is not over as herself just as a proxy for the CM Love.

This is not a good thing nor is it something that should be encouraged. Having AJ in a storyline with Steph where she will play the antiauthority rebel will only increase the CM Punk chants.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yet they're surprised nobody gives a shit about Rusev - Cena. I never got the McMahon family's aversion to heat.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Or former #1 contender to the WCW World title Al Green.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Well thank goodness we aren't using one of the 12 authority figures to elevate someone up the card.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Nobody except HHH, Vince, Stephanie, and whoever HHH's best friend at the time is are allowed to get heat. Since none of them are over, the solution is to kill off the heat of anyone who is genuinely over.

  72. Brandon Marshall to the Jets? Who's Jay Cutler going to throw the ball to? Oh, yeah, Canadians. hehe

    ReplyDelete
  73. Fitting that the last true WCW show ends with a classic Sting/Flair match.

    ReplyDelete
  74. No love for the Hogan-infused WCW from 1994-2000, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  75. He still has Alshon Jeffery. I'm worried about Marshall catching passes from Geno. Unless the Jets plan to draft Mariota or another QB.

    ReplyDelete
  82. So anyone else see the NXT taping spoilers..more specifically they very strange match up that did not go over well?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Eh, I'm okay with it. Honestly, we had that horrible Stephanie/Bella crap last year and a repeat isn't needed.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Only horrible because Stephanie had to go over.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I absolutely concur. The wrestling that occurred in WCW was what made it different than the WWF. Once Hogan arrived sports-entertainment replaced wrestling for the most part.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm always ok with less authority but it's the reason behind it

    ReplyDelete
  87. It's like on Cornette's first RF shoot. He talks about him, Eaton and Condrey going up to New York to talk to Vince. All Vince wanted to talk about was the dolls they could make and sell of the Midnights. When Condrey asked about blood and Vince said they didn't do that, Condrey wondered how they got anything over. Then Vince went back to talking about the dolls again.

    ReplyDelete
  102. yes that match ..evidently they did tape the show for the network.

When I first read about it i didn't realize it was the on the road show. now it makes more sense. I thought they just had those two show up at NXT and had a match which was crapped on pretty harshly.

  164. Looking through the list of guys they want back in NXT (and that was really weird, btw), I think it's a crying shame the former Tensei isn't called Mat Albert (it's his real first name, and... yeah).

  165. Was Marc Mero a good worker? I've been watching a lot of his stuff from 96 and he seemed like he was on a hot streak as a worker.

  166. That still feels light. Fuck Syracuse

  167. I got burned out.

  168. ... you forgot the cheap poontang part.

  169. After watching Syracuse beat Rutgers and St. John's for about 12 straight years, then having St. John's finally whoop them this year, the hate lessened a little. It still couldn't happen to a nicer team.

Well then, not talking about the tweets is perfect. That's one less segment Steph will be in a week.

    We don't need more!

    WHO WANTS THE HAIR?

(Also: What could WWE do with him?)

  172. Some folks liked him but I never saw it. I was with Foley in that he got shot up the card way more than a guy like him deserved.

  174. After almost 2 years I'm finally getting sick of Simpsons: Tapped Out. I play once or twice a week now, compared to 3-4 times a day I would play last year.

  176. I thought Mero was fine in his later WCW days

As a Steelers fan, this hurts.

  178. Is Mick Foley a glorified stuntman?

    ReplyDelete
  179. She was so bland at the time

  180. Wow! Syracuse's last game is tomorrow against NC State. Go Wolfpack!

    No. Stuntmen have insurance.

  182. Mike Rotunda and Michael Cole are from Syracuse. That's all you need to know.

  183. He was terrible last year. An actual dollars to doughnuts negative player. I would take the hair and not the player. And WWE could use him for the Head & Shoulders sponsorship. They're probably still pissed at losing Slim Jim with Randy Savage.

  184. Cap hit, mostly. Marshall's still a very unique talent with his size and strength.

  185. Spanky is considered a veteran? Whatever.

  186. Reggie Wayne cut from the Colts too. Reggie was great, but like Polamalu his time is done.

  187. Glad to see Stephanie McMahon continues to support #GiveDivasaChance.

  188. Mero, pre-knee injury, was really good. He had great chemistry with DDP and SCSA. He used to perform a shooting star press called "the Wild Thing" in his early WWF days.
